4 computers on a local network, lost the ability to access cd players and DVDs on all stations

I replaced the discs, drivers, resettled, still no access, but if the disk inserted in the CD the computer accesses when turned on. All are dell Windows XP computers.  All react the same and as near as I can tell they have all had this problem at the same time.  I have Microsoft Office 7 on a computer, it was Id'ed as not valid, I got the program to a computer repairman, who when questioned said that the keys were valid, he contacted Microsoft and they were in an oral discussion on the keys, and he gave me a new program still in its original packaging with the keys , but I can't load because of the readers of cd is inaccessible. I get a code 41 trying to find records

My tech computer repair understood that there are double entries in the registry for the cd dvd players, which occurred since an update of the microsoft driver.  Computer Dell motherboards have been loaded with a different driver than most DVD cd and the update does not remove the old of the registry.  As soon as it has been deleted all computers were able to access cd dvd players.  One would think if Microsoft caused the problem they could send an update to fix or put an alert for us who have problems on how to solve this problem.

I know a company that had the same problems, and they bought 4 new computers because their technology could not find the problem.  Quite expensive on the site on the part of Microsoft.  Bill could have made as much profit if they fix their mistakes and do it just with those who have lost money.  I turned down several jobs due to no cd dvd access myself, but at least I didn't panic and buy new computers.

  • Lost the ability to save files jpeg and gif on my system!

    All the images that I record on my computer suddenly changed to a "jpeg" to "png" and it wouldn't even give me the option to save in any other format different from that of "png" or "bitmap".     parameters to be set, but the following steps should help you get started...
    (Once you're set up the conversion goes very fast)

    Open IrfanView and go... File / Batch Conversion...

    Tick... Batch conversion...

    Choose a file format...

    On the left, click on the Options button and choose 100% / OK...
    (If 'Save transparent color' is checked, uncheck)

    Do you see a logo anywere wlan on your cpu (the logo must be under this text). If so turn on it could be like a touchscreen or there could be a switch. If there is a light on the switch or assimilated to the switch, it should be (in most cases) blue.

    My CD drive E: suddenly lost the ability to write to DVD discs. It will play the music on it and will write on CD disks. When I check the properties of the E: drive with a new DVD in place, it shows the whole disc in blue and indicates space used 0 and space free 0. MS it difficulty program reports the drive is not recognized as a recordable device.

    I used this drive often in the past to make backups, record music, etc. This who might I be missing or it's time for a new CD/DVD drive?

    I think you should use Nero. :-)

    I never use Windows for this function. Personally, I have had success with Acronis True Image, IMGBurn, CDBurnerXP and Avi2Dvd.

    But if you want to search for this, here's a start:

    Are you unable to launch/open the system restore?
    Are you unable to create a new Restore Point manually?
    Your system restore calendar is empty dates?
    You preform a restore and get a message that has failed or nothing has changed?

    If the restore in safe mode will not do, keep reading:

    It would be useful to know a few things about your system:

    What is your system brand and model?

    Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

    The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination?  (this includes the plug pulling, buttons power, remove the battery, etc.)

    The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD (internal or external) drive?

    You have a genuine XP installation CD bootable, which is the same Service as your installed Service Pack (this is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

    What do you see (exactly) that you don't think you should see, and when you see it?

    If the system works, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did not work properly?
