If you create a movieclip symbol you can change its calendar (or code) comes alive as an autonomous object that lives in the library.  Just create a new MovieClip symbol and build the animation in the timeline and you should find it is what you have in the library.   If that is not clear to you... Create a movieclip symbol and then double click it in the library of... to open it for editing where you can see his chronology is waiting for you to build in.
