5 GHz wifi card replacement for dv7-6c23cl (AMD A8)?

Laptop came with Broadcom 4313GN 1 x 1 adapter Wi - Fi 802.11b/g/n.  It has adaptor bluetooth Broadcom 20702. Don't know if its construction in to the wifi card. I would like a better card dual band. I have WNDR3000 Netgear dual band router. This adapter connects only to 65Mbps Max with 2.4n. Any successful upgrade? Help, please.

You are the very welcome.

You can view the manual on the link below and in Chapter 3, you will find a list of parts shown with all the components, you can buy with HP part numbers.

http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03099448.PDF

To buy a part, you can enter the part # in the site below in the appropriate box.

When you see the available wireless cards, card dual band you see is only for laptops equipped with Intel processors - and it is not serious, as the part number of this card is incorrect and no one knows which is the right one.

Change a wireless card in a HP consumer notebook is nothing less that a nighmare due to the blocking of all BIOS maps are not not in the service manual for the specific model laptop.

  • 5 GHz WiFi card update - Compaq Presario

I just got a new router today and found out that it is a double router broadband and supports the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. I was wondering if I could update my existing WiFi card that supports only the 2.4 GHz and get one that will take in charge the 5 GHz band. Also if I have a 5 GHz WiFi card in my laptop can still connect to networks that support 2.4 GHz only? How much would cost a new card? And finally, if I can improve my card, how I put in my laptop?

    Data sheet:

    Model: Compaq Presario CQ57-33WM

OS: upgrade to Windows 8.1 Pro

Memory: Updated 6 GB of RAM

Hard drive: 320 GB 5400 RPM

    Network cards:

    Realtek RTL8188CE 802.11 b/g/n WiFi Adapter

(A lot of WAN Miniports is also listed in Device Manager)

Can I still switch my wireless card based on these specifications? It would be difficult to change? Let me know if you need more information on the computer.

    Hello

According to the service manual this lappy does not support 5 GHz wireless cards. Most recent computers based Intel Mobile (Ivy Bridge and higher) support the latest maps wireless Intel including the last 7260AC one. Your laptop is older, so I can't say with certainty what will work or not. In this case I suggest to get some usb adapters wireless such as that of your link or one of them:

There is no 'card' you might be imagining. The video is one of the dishes chips soldered to the motherboard. You already have the best video system available for dv7-4000 series of laptops, so there is no way upward to something better.

  • SL410 WIFI card replacement.

    Hello

I m new here, so everybody got my Best looks.

    I bought a SL410 (2842-44Y) a month ago.

After trying ir to work, having a few problems with the WiFi, I realized that it's map of Wi - Fi b/g/n ThinkPad (Yes the Realtek one...) FRU 43Y6553).

As I read on this Forum, it seems that this card is bad enough: as a professional network, used for the survey and install WiFi 802.11 networks, I can CONFIRM THAT.

Maybe for standard use, it might be good, but not professional.

Unafortunately, LENOVO or sellers, told me that. In fact here in Argentina, we can´t choose the basic configuration, just take it or not.

The point is that if you're a professional network, and you need to 'work' with this card, it is useless.

Because the sensitivity level is quite 'awful': max - 45dbm back to back with any type or brand of router/Access Point, when in my experience, it should be understood between-10 /-15 (my old line T shows only).

As far from the AP, the real RSSI (or Signal Sthenght) is 20dbm below any other card (less coverage).

These levels are doing is useless for studies of Site WiFi, Configurations or same set-up, because we need to have actual data.

It 'funny' s see how Lenovo access connection (or the Microsoft one) shows you a 100% signal strength when in reality its 56%, as evidenced by the specific tools of the measurement of the spectrum WiFi as InSSider, NetStumbler or WirelesMonitor.

I think that patched the issue than I ve Lenovo read here, on the weak Signal on connection of access, by "masksing", not sure of fixing...

While the investment is made (I can not here just return the notebook or request a replacement) and I ve to work!, the only way I ve to solve this problem try to replace the WiFi card with a new one.

I have read the PSREF and it seems there are two options of base of INTEL, but tech supp can´t make sure my ThinkPad can deal with them:

    + WiFi Link 5100 (FRU 43Y6517)

    + Centrino Advanced N-6200 (FRU 60Y3231)

My HW is based on Intel CORE 2 Duo T6670 / Mobile Intel 4 Chipset.

Can anyone tell me, or advice, if these maps work on my SL410?

    Thank you very much!

    Kind regards

  • DV7-6c23cl: Dear HP, thanks for posting the drivers chipset for dv7-6c23cl

Dear HP, I assume that you read your own forums.  I tried to contact your support but which becomes very tedious.

Please report the chipset drivers on the drivers for this laptop page.

    As mentioned in this post...

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/notebook-hardware/HP-Pavilion-dv7-6c23cl-entertainment-notebook-PC-USB-...

I asked HP to include the chipset and the USB3 drivers for all of their laptop AMD based not less than 3 times.

    For some reason, they don't.

NONE of their consumption AMD chipset based notebooks have the chipset drivers AMD or USB3 on the support pages.

Only business class PC do and they only pilots USB3 and not the driver that installs the smbus controller.

But as you have in your other post, alleged that I worked for HP and deducted that I was abandoned in the course of my work, I take this opportunity to let you know that your message will be dead by HP.

Again... This is a forum for peer to peer, and no HP is what it is posted here on behalf of the company.

If you want to run this issue further to the top of the stem, then it is not the appropriate place for this.

You can send an e-mail to the management of HP on the link below and see if you can get anywhere with them.

  • Find a WiFi card driver for my laptop.

Hi, I have my kids great cast off laptop. They forgot all the passwords I did an installation of Win 7 CD.

Now it seems that no driver for the WiFi card. Every way I try to download a driver (I'm looking to download more in the hope of finding one that works) they want to go on the web and find and download rather than just give me the file. Of course the machine cannot connect to the web without the driver. (Catch 22).

I'm stuck. What can I do?

    Ken

You should get the driver for your wireless network card (and possibly additional drivers) on the web site of the manufacturer of the laptop.

Many of the major manufacturers portable have systems that will allow you to get the right drivers for your specific unit.

Dell, for example, uses the 'number of Service Dell'--> http://www.dell.com/support/contents/us/en/04/article/Product-Support/Self-support-Knowledgebase/locate-service-tag/Notebook

Lenovo has a 'machine type/model' designation or serial number used to identify the machine--> https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/find-product-name

If the driver download page that you arrive finally has more than one driver for a wireless network adapter, open Device Manager (click Start Orb, type Device Manager, press enter), double-click "Network adapters" section to develop, and you should be able to match the description of your wireless network adapter to one of the reasons mentioned on the download page.

If you can't always understand what you have, double-click the entry for your wireless network adapter, click on the "Détails" tab, select "Hardware ID" from the drop-down list and post back with the specified value (you can right click > copy this value and then paste in your response).  It should look like this:

    PCI\VEN_14E4 & DEV_16B1 & SUBSYS_96B11849 & REV_10

Once you have located the correct driver, download it using the computer that you use to ask your question here, copy to a USB flash drive and take the flash drive to the computer laptop problem.

    Hello:

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c02642701.PDF

Wireless cards supported are listed in Chapter 3 begins on page 24.

From the looks of it, you have the choice between the Atheros AR9280 2 x 2 adapter WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n, or the

4322 Broadcom 802.11a/b/g/n wireless network adapter.

You get only one of the maps in the service manual and they MUST have the HP part # on them, or they WILL NOT work in your laptop.

Be sure to choose a card with the part # listed for your locale.

    Hello

All compatible (with part numbers) cards start from page 24 of the manual even. I suggest using the Atheros AR9280 or Broadcom 4322. This is the wifi chip only, no combos with bluetooth but connectivity bluetooth can be added by a usb adapters. There are many of them on ebay.

    AR9280: 580101-002

    Broadcom 4322:582564 - 001

These two circuits are for the U.S., etc...

Edit: all three chips should work on your laptop, but these are only tokens of 1 x 1 single band and will not support the 5 GHz network. 600370 001 is a combo of Broadcom (4313) with bluetooth and the other is the same Broadcom (4313) but the only wifi chip.

  • Replacing the WIFI card for laptop G72

    Hi all

I think that I have given up trying to fix my current card WiFi RALINK RT3090 because for some reason any it simply stopped working since last Thursday.

Am looking to buy a replacement one but don't know with all these terminologies

The repair, I found the sub elements:

    -Atheros AR9285 802.11b/g/n WiFi adapter 1 1 x
    -Module WLAN 802.11b/g/n 1 x 2 Intel Centrino Wireless - N 1000
    -Realtek RTL8191SE 802.11b/g/n 1 x 1 WiFi adapter (for 1.0 and 1.1 only models)
    -Adapter of WiFi 802.11b/g/n 1 x 1 Broadcom 4313

    -802.11b/g/n Ralink RT3090BC4 1 x 1 WiFi and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR Combo Adapter (BT3.0 + HS ready) (for models 1.1 and 1.2 only)

All I'm looking for is something that connects with my router that is currently configured for 2.4 Ghz (can go up to 5 GHz but not looking for it) and get the best connectivity possible and if I choose to use my Smart TV with DLNA technology.

Q1: Will all these above mentioned work card WLAN on my G72 (it is B02SA or B20SA) portable or can be picked up any other WLAN card (mini/low-profile if I'm not mistaken, that's what we call them)

Q2: What is "for 1.0 and 1.1 only models"?

Q3: Which of them will give me better speeds and possible connetivity?

Q1: Will all these above mentioned work card WLAN on my G72 (it is B02SA or B20SA) portable or can be picked up any other WLAN card (mini/low-profile if I'm not mistaken, that's what we call them). Check in the download section to check if the drivers are available. This nmeans that support BIOS is present.
Q2: What is "for 1.0 and 1.1 only models"? It's information that can only be obtained at HP internally. It is likely to be market designations for models for the specific world regions.
Q3: Which of them will give me better speeds and possible connetivity? Module Intel uses the drivers Intel is more reliable.
Q4: My previous card Ralink RT3090BC4 gave me several questions whenever I have to reinstall my OS so don't want the hassle. I also had problems with this module in the past. I prefer Intel and Realtek.

You should consider browsing the forums on the sites of BIOS mod your laptop from warranty. There is a risk attached to the use of modded BIOS, you will have to accept. Modded BIOS files can remove blacklists of module.
