520 SSD help/assistance

Hello. I've always wanted a SSD that I can play games without having to engage in the quality of freshly grown potatoes (bad). I would have preferred a M550 Crucial because I think they are one of the best out there and the SSD is recognized for its superiority. I have questions and I also need help, as you put it like that; I am computer stupid when it comes to such things.

First of all I will ask if it is possible in ANY way to use an SSD with the TouchSmart 520. On the Crucial website, he said that none of their SSD are compatible with it, and I thought that therehas must be somebody to get around him. I would also ask what are the different between the internal and external SSD planning with the TouchSmart 520. Finally (if the SSD must have an irregular installation process) I want to know how you do it. Thank you

Thank you for the additional information.

Yes, you can install an SSD in your computer.  The problem is that it has Intel chipset H61.  It only supports up to 3.0 GB SATA mode.  It will go faster than a standard hard drive, but will not reach full implementation (6.0 GB).

If the hard drive is 3.5 ", you will need to buy an adapter for version 2.5" SSD.  I used one to install my SSD and it worked fine.  I don't know how much that Crucial instructions provided on the installation of their SSD, but Samsung provides very good instructions.  They also provide the Software of Samsung Data Migration to help you transfer your data from your current hard drive and Samsung Software Wizard to optimize your SSD.

One last thought.  I don't know what kind of gaming performance you will get with the integrated graphics subsystem.  The SSD can help with this, however.

Please, click on "Thumbs Up +" if I helped you and click "Accept as Solution" If your problem is resolved.

  • reset password help Assistant

Thanks for the help, but any suggestions require that I be logged in as an administrator and if I could log on as an administrator, then I would not need help. My wife and I have user accounts that are protected by Word and have no problems to access an account. The problem with the administrator account, which both, we have used in the past. Once again, I got this computer with the software vista since January 2007 and have changed the administrator password every 30 days and was never required to backup the passwords using the 'password reset Wizard"until mid-2012. • Tips on creating a composite image! HELP assistants PS :)

    Hello

I am a new photographer and certainly again when it comes to photoshop.

I wanted to create a "composite" image, where I take 3 pictures and merge them into one.

The problem I have is the shadows that are cast the model cut in each image.

The other problem is a slight inconsistency in the gray background - colours are not exactly the same.

Exactly would guys you do if you were in my shoes and wanted to make these 3 images in 1?

Here is a picture of what I'm talking about.

    Pointers would be very welcomed!

    Thank you!

    Composite.jpg

There are several ways to reach the final objective in most situations, but in the end, you will need to decide what your goal is.  Here, I think you need to do 2 things - create a new décor extend the 3 models and false then the shadow.

What about a different approach to isolate the models, rather than use the quick selection tool, you could create paths or use the magic wand tool... and for the shadows, another approach would be to use the tool of engraving with defined range highlights.

Although I think these methods would give you less control in editing.

  • W520 and Intel SSD 520 external casing replacement?

I decided to upgrade my W520 the Intel SSD 320 to 520 SSD Intel.  I tried the 520 in an enclosed and theW520 does not recognize the drive.  I am trying to determine if the problem is the controller in the external case Thermaltake BlacX or was it simply the problem of having the drive in an external enclosure? (In other words, it would work in a different case).  I got an OCZ Vertex 3 that would work not in external enclosures, so I'm inclined to think this is the Forum as being both the Vertex 3 and Intel 520 uses SandForce controllers.

Suport of Lenovo, I called and they told me that the only way I can copy the disc's to buy their Ultrabay III of A 0, 65623 adapter and copy the disks inside the machine.  I use older software of Casper and I don't think he would have Renesas USB 3 drivers, if I boot from a CD and trying to copy my old hard drive backup.

Obviously people do that.  And, if the Ultrabay III adapters are not available at this time, they must do without them.

  • Turn off the HP help

    Hello

    I have a laptop HP Pavilion Dv6-6b51ea

However, whenever I have pressing F1 I get screens help/assistant HP instead of using Windows 7.

How to recover the F1 key to give me the help Windows to turn off HP help assistant?

    Thank you.

Recently, I decided to finally know how to fix this problem after being tired of accidentally pressing f1 and the opening using HP and windowsill.

I didn't keep the media controls a single key and the functions of brightness of the other keys to turn off the function keys in the BIOS was not the answer for me.

Ultimately, after many forums looking at and seeing people talk about changing the registry and stuff and reading, nothing worked, I tried a few things of my own. I was able to achieve the results that I have desired ME. This solution may be no idea for others, but here's what I did.

I opened the window in question and used the Task Manager to keep the window in a file. I found the HelpPane.exe file in the windows directory, I believe in the system32 folder. I was unable to do anything with the file without first taking ownership of it.

Take in hand I went to right click on the file properties

Then to the Security tab and then click the Advanced button

In the new window that pops up, I went to the owner tab, and then

Clicked on edit where I then changed owner to my windows account

After you apply these changes that I returned to the Security tab in the properties of the window and I gave my total control of the account from the file.

Once this done I move the HelpPane.exe file to another folder for the storage and the F1 button gave me is no problem, the pop up stopped popping up, problem solved for me.

(This could eliminate assistance in other applications or have other side effects, but so far I've had no negative side effects so I don't like it as a file system.)

Good luck and if you try, it is at your own risk.

  • A question about 'value spots' in the Vision Assistant of NOR

    Hello, all,.

I am a new learner or vision.

When I use 'mark set' in the Vision Assistant of NOR. It works well. for example

(The image above is the example in the Vision Assistant of NOR, please see help > Assistant Solution > Inspection of dental floss)

However, when I put the program NI Vision Assistant to create a Labview VI program. (Tools > create a LabVIEW VI), then run the VI, it no longer works.

The result of the system of coordinates outside is always like that.

I can't find where is the error. I tried a few other examples in the Vision Assistant of NOR. If the command "set mark" is used in the program in the Vision Assistant of NOR. then create the LabVIEW VI.

    The problem still occurs.

I hope some man experienced in NI Vision could help me.

    Hi all

This problem has been reported under Corrective Action Request (CAR) 441410 and has since been fixed in 2014 of VDM. I highly recommend upgrading to the latest version here: www.ni.com/download/vision-development-module-2014-f1/4971/en/ because it contains other patches. If you are unable to do so, I have attached the patched file, you need to change. Replace the following file (assuming that the default installation location): \National Instruments\LabVIEW 2013\vi.lib\vision\Vision Utils.llb Assistant with the version I have attached here, and that should solve the problem you see with NaN values of reference in the VG of the generated code.

    Kind regards

    Hi all

Help - diagnosis - trace user_dump_directory of shows, where the real trace of the files are under directory diagnostic_dest locations.

The message in the box pop up is that you have enabled SQL tracing for this form and other forms that you open. Rajiv,

What is your version of the database?

If its 11g or higher, you should remove the user_dump_dest of the init file setting according to the note - parameters to initialize database to Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 (Doc ID 396009.1) and keep only diagnostic_dest.

Database 11g, trace files must be generated at the location diagnostic_dest.

To locate the trace file, use the following:

    Select the value from v$ diag_info whose name = "Diag Trace";

  • Window and dialogue help

We currently use 10 Robohelp integrated with TFS 2012. Our window/dialog level help topics match the name of the window and how aid at this level is called.  We would like to switch to ID card instead. Someone at - it else made this switch and it is better for programmers to feed me the ID or for me to generate in Robohelp and give them?

I produced the ID window and then manually the mapped in RoboHelp. There has been much less time for everyone, especially developers.  I used the FIELD (card program and Context-sensitive Help Assistant) to generate the map ID of dexterity. http://dynamicbusinesssolutions.ru/gp2010_ig.en/ig_ch39onlinehelp517.htm

But I don't know if this tool would work for you, or if your developers would have a way to generate the ID of the card. Nevertheless, I'm sure they would give you instead of having to update all the windows with an ID you give them IDS.

  • It is better to put an SSD in my slow-beastly Macbook, or processor speed is the King?

I have an early 2008 Macbook (I know), one of her now retired 17 "ones, I'm maxing out to 6 MB of RAM (I know).  It's like the core duo 2.5 GHz.  Then obviously, Lightroom + weddings = molasses.

For a few hundred dollars, I could put in an SSD, invade the space of my traditional hard drive optical Bay DVD disc and run the operating system, applications and current LR catalog of the SSD.

But, is it still worth it?  It is the speed of the processor that's killing me here, or would upgrade to an SSD help out me?  I'm going to get more bang out of my money to photograph if I put my current disposable income in the upgrade of my camera body (1 5 5D3s) and all in post-processing is slow and boring, at least I * can * that everything is done.  There are just a lot of time. I can't do the quality of the image that I need in the half-light outside my current cameras, this is the priority.  So I look at another year, probably, before I could go new Macbook.  Screen 17 "I miss, but such is life.

So, what do you think?  Interesting put in a SSD, or hold on and put every penny towards a faster processor and more RAM a year from now?  I still have about 30 weddings to go this season so post-treatment pain is adding, but I don't want to just throw away money if this is not the real problem.

You need more CPU. I think the idiom, could apply to get the SSD is like "putting lipstick on a pig."

  • Backups Time Machine missing after model clean install

For a Mac using Time Machine to back up, is there a way to clean install OS X for a new internal SSD and keeps backups Time Machine historical which have been made using the previous internal SSD?  While as I use it to back up the new internal SSD TM, TM will show the backup history of both the previous internal SSD and the new (up to the capacity of the disc from the TimeCapsule).

MacBookPro8, 2 I used Time Machine on a time Capsule TB 3 towards the rear for 2 years. No problems and shows 2.24 available 3 TB.

Last night I did a clean model 10.11.5 install a new SSD, and a transfer application, the user accounts Migration Wizard, etc. Since the previous flash SSD disk internal (format / installed the new SSD, attached to the internal SSD previous via USB flash disk, then started in Recovery Mode to clean the installation model to the new internal SSD and when prompted did the previous internal SSD Migration Assistant).

Everything no problem above went very well. But now when I "TimeMachine enter", I see that the most recent backup made (before the clean install).  The right navigation (which goes in reverse chronological order of the lower part of the screen to the top) seems to show the date on which the previous backups have been identified.  But if I click on a date, TM Finder main window does not scroll from that date. The top / arrow down buttons to the right of the main window of Finder TM also do not respond to clicks.

So far as I can tell, I've lost all TM backups except the most recent. I have all saved data elsewhere outside time Capsule, so between that and the 1 backup, I can see in TM I have not lost anything.

If I had done the Migration Wizard from the TimeCapsule rather than the previous internal SSD flash drive, would that have kept all historical TM backups?

    Thanks for any idea

Time Machine, please press the shift-command-C key combination. The windshield will show the mounted volumes. All snapshots should now be accessible. Select the one you want and search for files to restore.

If you need to restore from a backup of the hidden user library folder, first select a snapshot, and then press shift-command-G. A go to the folder dialog box opens. In this document, you enter the path to the folder. The dialog box will help you by automatically filling parts of the path when you start typing.

The path starts with the slash character ("/"). Enter that. The rest of the parts is separated by slashes.

The next part is the date and time of the current snapshot. Enter a '2', and the rest of the date should be filled in automatically. Press the right arrow key to access the end of the path. Enter a slash to start the next game.

Next is the volume name (usually "Macintosh HD" unless you assigned a different name.) Start typing, then jump to the end and enter a slash.

The next part is 'Users', followed by a slash.

Then is your short user name. It is also the name of your home folder, which is represented by an icon of the House in the sidebar of a Finder window.

Finally, enter "Library", and then press return. You should now be in the library folder. From there, you can move like in the Finder. You can also select another snapshot of the same folder.

  • Envy 15-k220nr: updated Intel 3160 AC card card Intel 7260 AC?

    Hi-

I'm in the same boat as some other people and try to get the clearer a possible answer, before I move forward - I have a HP Envy 15 k220nr supplied with the intel 3160 1 x 1 AC card.  I want to spend at least an AC 2 x 2 card, if this isn't a 3 x 3, to get the best possible rates of my AC1900 router.  The safest bet on the outside using a USB 3.0 adapter external (which would be cumbersome and problematic) seems to be the Intel 7260 AC 2 x 2 card.

Does anyone do this?  He settled without much trouble?  It worked once installed?  Have you seen a significant difference in speed?  No problem with the new card?  Tips for the installation?  Have been able to confirm the K220NR you had two sons of internal antenna to support a card 2 x 2 (or, and I doubt that I have this chance, it has 3 antennas)?  Please let us know - I want to upgrade, but to be sure it will work above all order and completely disassemble the laptop again (I already did once to install a 500 GB Samsung 850 EVO SSD and there wasn't a ton of fun).

Also, to you or anyone else to pay attention, because I'm going to open the laptop anyway, is there a reason I shouldn't update the RAM at the same time?   It seems that the laptop supports the DDR3L 1600 ram; I think the upgrade from 8 GB to 16 GB - any anticipated problems with this, everything will work the RAM or is there a white list, is there a reason I should avoid it (above the RAM being the most difficult thing to access during dismantlement of this model)?

Any help, assistance, information on how it worked for you, things to watch, etc. would be much appreciated.  I look forward to answers to the questions, that I have not like or thoughts in general about this.  Thank you!

    -Dan

    HP Envy 15-k220NR

    Intel i7 4720MQ

    8 GB RAM

500 GB Samsung SSD 850 Evo

I can now confirm that the adapter Intel Wireless AC7260 sector works PERFECTLY in a HP Envy 15t, specifically an HP Envy 15-k220nr (4720MQ plant, 8 GB of Ram, Intel i7 installed Intel Wireless 3160 adapter).  It works with Windows Pro 10 x 64 great - I can't speak for Windows 7/8/8.1 that I updated before installing (which I recommend), but I expect that it works on Windows 8/8.1 for sure and probably on Windows 7 without problem.

I bought the card on Amazon; the model is "Intel network 7260.HMWG. R' - the. R is important because it is a revised version of the chip with improvements on the original.  It is, by the Intel reports, the same card SKU 7260.HMWWB. R - different SKUS simply represent different packages.  Check it out at: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MV3N7UO

At the time I did, the cost of the card was $26.50.  It is a Mini PCIe card, which is the type of the computer used.

It's a surprisingly simple upgrade.  I have simply shut down my computer, which has been already upgraded to Windows Pro 10.  As with all facilities, follow control measures for static (white room, wrist band), that screws follow-up go where (easier in this case because they are mostly identifcal when disassembly of the machine) and general practices for the maintenance of a system.  I would not recommend this upgrade is done by an amateur - it's a more complex installation, since you need to access the motherboard and remove the housing rather than simply to open a port on the underside of the computer.  That said, for having to open the base unit, it is a process very easy (relatively speaking) with this laptop.  It is useful that the repair is very complete.  Be careful, because if you are not an authorized service provider and your computer is under warranty, you may void your warranty by opening the machine.  In addition, don't forget to keep the old card to allow you to reinstall and restore your computer to care factor if you need to send in warranty repair or want to sell it but keep the new card.

It took my about 20 minutes to take it apart, install, test and go back.  Before you BEGIN, download the new drivers, you'll need - HP drivers are working, great and I always go with the current manufacturer on the OEM drivers drivers when possible because they are often optimized for the system.  You can also download download.intel.com drivers, but I would recommend get the driver WLAN wireless network current HP download page (http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-ENVY-15-Notebook-PC-series/7527530/model/7685078#Z7_3054ICK0KGTE30AQO5O3KA30R1).  This card, looking for the same drivers regarding the AC-3160 card because they use the same drivers.  Download the TWO the WLAN and Bluetooth drivers - to date, the drivers have been updated on 15/10/15 and are:

    • Bluetooth of Intel driver, version 18.1.1525.1470 [email protected]
    • Intel Wireless Driver, version 18.12.0.3 Rev.P

After downloading the drivers, put them on your desktop or somewhere else easy access that you will need them as soon as you restart the installation and the wireless NOT work initially, following so if you do not have the drivers you have given to get them through a wired connection or another computer.

I disassembled the machine by the Service Manual (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04510889).  Remove the battery and basic housing, disconnect the cables in water for the fingerprint sensor, the mouse and the keyboard and back on top of the basic coverage and put it against the monitor.  BE CAREFUL - this shifts the center of gravity of the computer and makes the computer to tip backward as I learned when I got mine from flipping back off of the table, I was working on - just be careful.

After opening to the top of the enclosure, installation is incredibly simple.  The WLAN card is located at the back of the computer to the Middle - back where the hinges of the screen connect computer, centered between them.  You just pop off the two wireless antennas (YES - this laptop, despite the expedition with AC only 1 x 1 wireless card options, IT has two antennas installed at the factory, so it can support fully a card 2 x 2), then remove the screw from the card in place.  The map is displayed; bring him back (help little fingers - I have big hands and it was difficult because card is pressed against the back of the case) and pop out.  Insert the new card, tap it down, screw and reattach the antennas, making sure that the wire connected to the 'hand' on the original card is connected to the 'hand' on the new map, and the wire of "to THE" relates to "to THE.  On my computer, the black wire is the main antenna, the gray wire was the second antenna.

If you're like me, after installation, you can set reconnect the keyboard/mouse/finger print sensor and reboot the machine before screwing everything together to make sure it works.   Just be careful if you do this.  When you restart, wireless will not work.  Run the installation programs for the drivers that you downloaded at the beginning of the year - I found install the dirver wireless, then bluetooth driver works better.  After installation and reboot, everything should work fine, including bluetooth.  I have had absolutely no problem with everything to work.

Now the fun part: performance.  The map is hands down more quickly then the motherboard.  2 x 2 MIMO broadcast practically double your performance to download (assuming you have at least to AC1200 router that supports speeds of that card is).  I use an ASUS AC1900 RT-AC68U, a great router is worth every penny.  Speedtest.NET, my laptop on the wireless now easily continues with my internet service 60MBPS, going as fast as my wired connection (with the old card, he maxed out at around download 50MBPS; with the new card, it uses bandwidth full, closer to 70MBPS for us.)  Download speeds were around 4, 5-5 Mbps, to be expected in view of our internet service.

File transfers are literally about twice as fast as prerequisites for the upgrade.  I supported sustained more than 8 Mbps download speeds when there are about 40 feet from the router with 3 walls and other elements of the way.  File transfer speeds are great, more 40MBPS transferring files to my NAS, compared to close to 20 with the original map (also from 40 feet with 3 walls and other obstacles).

Overall, the performance is much better that the original card, as expected, the installation is simple and quick, and everything works perfectly.  I highly recommend this upgrade.
