Hello

Welcome to Adobe Community.

When you run the Captivate_6_x64_LS12.exe it actually extracts the installation files and put them on your desktop by default. There should be a folder on your desktop named Adobe Captivate 6. Inside this folder, you should have a folder named payloads. Go to the payloads folder and you should see some folders Microsoft VC. You must go inside each Microsoft VC folder and run the .exe file. Once you are finished with the installation of all the Microsoft VC files then start the setup.exe in the Adobe Captivate 6 folder on your desktop.

See the screenshots below:

I hope this helps!

Thank you!

  • with the Vista installation error: bootmgr.c

    The system:
    AMD Phenom x 4 9450
    4 GB of ram
    300 GB SATAII
    PATA DVD - RW
    Win Vista Ultimate x 64

Error occurs when you attempt to repair the installation of windows vista.

The system worked very well.  I put a Server 2 k 8 installation disc, to capture an error message I received some time ago.  Once I got the error message, I took the 8 2 k disk out and restarted.  Vista appeared be started normally, but when going in the loading bar, to black, and then to load the cursor, the system just stayed black (white screen).  There is no error message, just a white screen.  The screen is not time and sleep, as if there is a lack of signal; He remains alive.

So I put in my Vista installation disc to do a repair. The installation disc comes at the end of "loading files", and when the installer would normally load, I get an error instead.

I tried this with different drives and even with the drive disconnected.  I checked the installation disc will load normally on another PC.  Any thoughts\ideas as to what this error is trying to tell me?

Wow, I was hoping this would be the DVD drive.  The only place from there is controllers and cables, then eventually the motherboard.

Given that you receive the error without the hard drive is connected and the media works on other systems, we roamed outside what I'm allowed to support in this forum, but I was hoping that we would identify the material defective and much faster.

My apologies for not being able to help you solve this problem, but if the system is still under warranty, it's a contact in good time the hardware manufacturer.

If you ultimately identify what is the cause, thanks for posting this information here.  I would really like to know what is the source of this error.

  • the driver installation error file not found

I have a mp3 player that works very well on my wifes XP system but when I try and use it with Vista I get error installation driver... file not found. I tried all 3 usb ports... no luck.  I uninstalled the device... nothing.  Then I tried to plug in a USB stick... of the United Nations recognizes the device. I tried on everthing that I found online.  I would like to reinstall Vista but I have it on CD, I don't have the product code.

    Rick

Are you sure you have the correct drivers for Vista and that the device is compatible with Vista?  Just because it works on XP there's no guarantee that it will work on Vista (especially if you use XP drivers).  What is the manufacturer, the brand and the model of mp3 player?  What version of Vista are you using?

Please answer these questions in your answer.  Also check with the manufacturer for drivers updated firmware and/or software compatible with your device and your version of Vista and try to install them and see if that makes a difference.

Thank you.  I look forward to your answer with responses and progress that you make with the drivers.

  • The ATG installation error

    Hi Experts

I get an error during the installation of ATG. I downloaded 9.4 ATG and try to install. "When he goes to the part selection appserver, I chose jboss, it is giving error" invalid jboss home directory. I gave jboss home as - C:\jboss\jboss-eap-5.1\jboss-as. I downloaded jboss6.1 and 7 and also used these directories, it gives the same error. Please advice me what do.i also used ATG 10.2 and 11 of the ATG. I got hit in the same step.

Yes, you must use JBoss installation zip and unzip it. Avoid using the JBoss with native installer. For ATG 9.4, JBoss directory would be something like C:\jboss-eap-4.3\jboss-as. Similarly for ATG 11 you will need to use the path to jboss - as under JBoss EAP 6.0.1. Also make sure that you are using compatible JDK and your JAVA_HOME is pointing to the correct path of JDK and it contains no spaces. For example, if you have JDK directories present in "Program Files" then use as: C:\Progra~1\Java\jdk1.6.0_45\bin\java. Hope I help.

  • How can I myself spent the 1935 installation error code?

Hi, I am unable to download Adobe Pro successfully - I get an error code 1935. Thanks for any help!

    Hi John,.

I just spent 2 hours on the phone with a very useful Adobe support person. The error is due to a problem with Microsoft Windows Update. There is an 'important' update which is not able to install correctly, which in turn causes the problem with the installation of Adobe.

I have not had a chance to research or contact Microsoft on the issue. If a resolution can be found, I will update this post.

    Hoping that!

    (1) it is recommended to install all the Adobe products on the C drive (where the operating system is installed)

    Solution:

As I used the symbolic links to install Adobe Reader on RAM disk (if not impossible) to push (900% +) my daily productivity, I have to

    (A) uninstall all adobe products

    (B) remove all symbolic links to these

    (C) Manage fresh install again.

  • Codes for the AIR installer error message

    Hello, once again,

I found an article of the code small mistake for update of the player, so I know that it is a common practice to provide error notice.

Where to find a list of error messages for installation of Adobe AIR on Mac OS platform? I saw the error 7 or 8 for the test early on, if I remember correctly.

This will help us produce the best comment of the error to the user in case the AIR settles.

    Thank you

They are in our doc of redistribution, you can get access to once you fill in the following form: Adobe AIR Runtime Distribution

Here is the table of exit codes:

    Installer exit codes

The Adobe AIR installer generates the following exit codes:

    Exit code

    Description

    0

    Successful installation

    1

Success, but the reboot required for completion

    2

    User error (incorrect arguments)

    3

    Term not found

    4

    Failed loading of runtime

    5

    Unknown error

    6

    Installation cancelled

    7

    Failed installation

    8

Setup has failed; update already in progress

    9

Setup has failed; application already installed

As you will notice, the exit code 7 is really just a "catch-all" and not particularly useful.  It may also be useful to refer to the runtime error codes from time to time.  You will find them here: execution errors

    Thank you

  • Connection Manager HP stopped responding + Windows Installer Error 1719

    I am running Windows 7 (SP1) 64-bit operating systems.

Started getting an error message of connection manager HP "HP Connection Manager Service has stopped responding.  Error code 8008005.

    HP Connection Manager v4.1.23.1 running.
When I try to install a new version of v4.4.10.1 (SP58930) HP connection manager, I get an error of Windows Installer 1719.  Tried different solutions recommended for this, but nothing has worked.

I see in the forum after this uninstall of the current version and then install the new version of the HP connection manager can solve my original problem.

Before uninstalling the currenet HP Connection Manager version, I wanted to be sure that I will be able to install the new version without encountering Error 1719.  I don't want to be in an even worse situation of not being able to the HP Connection Manager after you uninstall it.

Can I get confirmation from HP that I will be able to successfully install a new version after uninstalling the current version?

    ParryJM wrote:

    Then uninstalled HP connection Manager.

Tried to install the HP (SP58930) connection manager and still have the error Windows Installer 1719.

What do you suggest I try next?

The fact that HP Connection Manager is no longer installed, how this will affect my computer?

The fact that it is no longer installed will have no effect on the functioning of your laptop and none on the operating system.

HP connection manager is simply a utility assistance for people who are making it difficult for the network through conections wifi and bluetooth connections.

If you are not in this group it is really useless.

From your description, it seems that if you can't follow instructions in the Microsoft fixit to the letter. By using the fixit is the easiest way to remove the registry entries and make changes to the registry that will allow installing and uninstalling software.  I can't recommend the methods that I use personally when I run on these issues because they involve access to the registry via regedit. The word people have never even heard of Regedit. Using Regedit can be a very bad thing for someone not experienced in the use of the registry editor.  All ch = angels did take place immediately and which included all the mistakes made during the access to the registry. Ongoing work on an operating system can fairly easily through the registry editor. Try the Microsoft fixit. It is a safe utility. Use it after an attempt to install and leave the window open until after error that does compete with the installation of the software.

Being administrator is not the same thing as Captivate running as an administrator that must be put in place in the menu right click on the shortcut that launches Captivate. You have restricted functionality if this is not done.

I told you how to clear preferences, with the file Utils. First close Captivate, when you restart CP will create a new preferences folder.

If you have a lot of customization that you will lose when the erasing of the preferences. To keep them, have a look at my blog:

  • How do I know which programs to take off the windows Installer CleanUp list?

    Windows Installer Cleanup of

    * original title - how do I know which programs to take off the windows Installer CleanUp list? I don't want to uninstall or remove a program that I always use currently__ *.

Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/290301 (MS Office only - replaced by the 'Fix It' utility)
(Note: the Windows CleanUp utility has been replaced by the "Fit It":http://support.microsoft.com/fixit/ )

    The Windows Installer Cleanup utility:
It was created to correct software installations that failed during the installation process and leaving a bunch of files (including a file name that ends with an extension .msi (= MicroSoft Installer .msi). For example an installation failed MS Office (note I said "failed").
    See: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/help/HA011185721033.aspx

Also if when you installed MS Office you decided at the time you had no need of Power Point and chose not to install it. You find out later you need to make a Power Point presentation, insert the Office CD and try installing PowerPoint and it causes an error.

The tool using Windows Installer Cleanup will remove damaged installation files (located in C:\Windows\Installer). You then install Office and Power Point, once more, as they are not more present in the list of programs in the Add/Remove Control Panel. But at least this time Office and Power Point will install without errors as the Windows Installer Cleanup utility did what it was designed to do.

The unfortunate side effect of the cleanup tool is when you select and delete software that works correctly you then will no longer be able to install this software because it is no longer in the Add/Remove Programs list.

Now as to why there is so many files in the C:\Windows\Installer:
You will find lots of them. MSI files belong to software such as Java, Microsoft .NET Framework software AV, Norton Ghost, file downloaded during a Windows Update session and so on. It would seem that some software will clean up after itself and deletions, this is the file that were in the folder C:\Windows\Installer. Windows Update failure will create and leave the folders and files behind every time that you try to install the update and so you could end up with a large number of files taking up disk space.

It could also be a lot of files (is most needed) orphans.
If you still have the original Windows Installer Cleanup utility, and then by using the msizap (msizap g!) command removes all cached Windows Installer data files that have been orphaned.
