  • P70 screen flickers, light guard after reboot

    Hello.
Something bad happens to my P70.
I restarted my laptop, and I could see the windows task bar that shines even while the Lenovo logo is displayed. And when windows starts, the whole screen starts to flip through. I restarted again, and it's the same thing.
I also use another OS, opensuse jump on this subject. And while I gave my laptop for a while, it happened it linux too, moreover, something strange happens in linux, when I use the touchpad, the screen goes and supports.
It is very disappointing for me.
No idea what is happening on my laptop?

    Benny,

Think engineering has identified an issue where unexpected lines or "garbage" appear on background screens on P70 ThinkPads when starting.

A fix is provided in BIOS v1.21 (N1DET47W). When the BIOS is available, it can be downloaded here:

  • Problem with WiFi connectivity

    Hello everyone.

Since yesterday my Macbook pro (mid-2012; Retina), El Capitan 10.11.6, running acted. I am able to connect to my home router when I'm on OS X. But when I switch to Windows 10 (with bootcamp) he connects to it even before I am able to connect. My IPhone and my IPad have no problem whatsoever. The problem probably occurred a week after I stopped the machine and turn it back would not see my router, but it has been resolved with a simple reboot. However, last night I came home from college and were not able to connect or see it at all. I searched the forums, tried all the stuff help wireless, did the round with the location, reset preferences and nothing has worked. When I go to University I have no problem connecting to the network out there on a BONE. I was not able to find anything else that could help me so I turn to the community to see if anyone has had similar problems and, hopefully, a solution.

    Thank you.

    Hey Kasiopeous,

If I understand correctly, the MacBook Pro does not connect to your home WiFi network. Other devices are able to connect at home, and the MacBook Pro is able to connect to other networks.  Looks like you already have a troubleshooting.
I recommend you read these articles, which may be able to help solve the problem.

    Hey all,.

Last night I updated from El Capitan 10.11.4 to 10.11.6 and since then I had big problems with my computer reboot several times in a row and beachballing. I have a MacBook Pro mid-2012 with left storage. I play WOW here and it starts me and restarts then, but I had this problem with the navigation as well with Chrome. • How canI force FF DO NOT reload old session after crash/reboot the PC?

My PC has problems and crashes. This isn't a problem with FF BUT: cause me this problem in FF: after reboot, when I restart FF he tries to recharge old session, EVEN if my options are set to 'Show my home page' and NOT 'my windows/tabs from last time '. When he tries to restore the tabs, FF, it causes my PC to hang & crash AGAIN! How can I force FF again, as if I could close healthy? Maybe a way to launch FF in 'safe mode', sort of? Thank you! -Marvie

The value of the integer pref browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes to 0 on the subject: config page in order to get the about: sessionrestore page immediately with the first reboot after a failure has occurred or the Task Manager was used for the closing of Firefox.

Which allows to deselect the tabs that you do not want to reopen, but will reopen the other tabs.

  • I have problems with Web sites that require cookies. In PRIVATE life, I checked ACCEPT COOKIES and third PARTY COOKIES. However, I still have problems. I used your "cookies enable and disable" but it still does not work. Thank you.

For example, I went to the site of Netflix (which I am registered on) and immediately I get a screen that asks me to enable cookies and gives me links to instructions on how to enable cookies for different operating systems.

Always good to start with a fresh reboot with Windows XP, if a question just happens.

Check your security software settings, you can block at this level, firewalls and modules FF.

    (1) FF settings: tools, Options, Privacy tab change, keep until: ask me every time, click OK at the bottom of the box. Then try to go to NetFlix, if you're not invited on the cookies, they don't get FF, get back to your other software security settings and modules of the FF.

  • What will I lose with a re-9nstall BONE?

I had problems with such spontaneous reboots as discussed in this thread; "Why after restart 2 hours sleep." It seems that my next step is to re - install El Capitan? Sounds a bit scary, that the instructions given in the "recovery" page Apple support seems benign.

If I re - install what will I lose? I suppose that some settings will go to default but should I write or copy to another security program? I'm the clone with CCC before doing this step but wish you do not to have to use it.

    Geoff

Before anything is a great idea and there is no problem if you don't have to use the cloning: it will take very little time. Now, if you simply reinstall the OS on top of what you have, you will not lose anything. However, if you have any problems, and they could be caused by a third-party software incompatibility, then nothing will have changed. Therefore, if you use recovery and that you choose to delete your hard drive first, and then of course everything will be deleted. Re-entered settings are redone quickly, so I wouldn't worry on this subject. Also: using the CCC will create a clone which means it will copy everything back. However, if you want a backup from which you can extract only certain things, then the built in Time Machine might be a better option (or, as many people do, use both if you have two backups).

  • T430s is not awaken from its slumber with mouse and USB keyboard Logitech wireless

    Hello

My T430s is hooked up with a monitor and a keyboard/mouse (Logitech LX710) wireless.

I put the laptop itself under my desk since I did not take it with me that often.

Now, when I hit the sleep button on my keyboard, the computer goes to sleep, as expected.

-There is no way (it seems) that I am able to wake up.

    I am running Windows 7 (x 64).

I tried different USB ports (to make sure I use a motor) for Logitech wireless USB adapter.

In the BIOS Setup, I checked to see if the USB ports can wake the computer from sleep mode.

In the devices tab Manager keyboard (and mouse), power management, I enabled "allow this device to wake the computer". I did the same thing for the "Human Interface devices".

"Update driver software" for the keyboard and the mouse says I have the latest drivers to install.

In power controls of Lenovo, under Advanced settings, USB settings, I tried the USB selective suspend allowed many people with reduced mobility. They are disabled for the moment. Under global settings of power, I enabled 'always on USB"and"even when the computer is turned off.

Then... I'm slowly running out of options. So for now, I can leave the computer at any time (it's what I do, with an occasional reboot - that seems not so respectful), or I can crawl under my desk in the morning, take the laptop on the little stool that I put there, make attention to diet, USB and cables monitor and external hard drives, open the laptop , press the power button, close it again and carefully put it back. What is bulky.

So... what someone has ideas on how to fix this and leave my wireless keyboard to wake the portable computer?

(Oh.. and of course buy a wired keyboard is an option, but not one I prefer...)

I only have the mouse, but I have a T430s and a Microsoft wireless mouse to wake it. I always use the blue (USB3) port on the left side for all functions related to the startup, because I learned that the always active port (on the back) is started later in the process of turning the power on. Use the right-click button to wake it up, which is the function that was originally defined as one to this end, even though I believe that this movement of the mouse as she wakes up on a wired mouse.

  • Stop, reboot is not available on the stop dialog box

I have a XP SP3 box that does not "Shutdown" or "Restart" as options in the shutdown dialog box (the box that you see when you click on stop in the start menu.)  The only option available is to disconnect.  I see no issues update, AV is up to date.  The machine is part of a domain, but I checked the local security and domain strategies to see if 'hide closed' was enabled, but it wasn't.

Any ideas as to the cause?  Thank you.

I had a similar problem. I found a solution through SevenForums: the link below has a REG file download that fixed this easily (option 1).

He added the controls in the registry. After the merger of the file with regedit and reboot, the buttons have been restored in the Start Menu.
  • Device not recognized USB message with iPhone 3g

Here's the story from the beginning, I hope that I have provide sufficient detail.

I got my iPhone 3 G is replaced. Therefore, a new phone... I went on iTunes in the middle of the restoration... It gave an error message and put my phone in recovery mode. Since my computer gives me the message "USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED" and appears as an "unknown device" in Bus USB controller in Device Manager.

I went to apple and they finished the restoration... I plugged the phone on other computers... It is therefore not the phone.

Still nothing pops up... It keeps giving me "USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED" I have uninstalled iTunes the right way... as Apple people walking through and reinstalled... the Apple Mobile Device is started.

I still get nothing... everything is... newly installed... Windows doesn't recognize just... that it doesn't show up as a camera... and it does not even charge my phone.

I tried different ports... and I get the same message... my camera and my sisters iPod shuffle connect correctly.

I really need help! I don't know what else to do... I need to work on this computer. It's a Toshiba Satellite Windows Xp SP3

I just went through two weeks of tampering with my 'old' computer trying to recognize my new 4370dn Canon multifunction printer after installing Windows 7.  I tried to reinstall Windows XP, uninstall the USB ports and hubs in Device Manager, update the printer drivers and several combinations of these elements.  In my case the ports would recognize external hard drives and flash drives, but my printer would come as a device not recognized.  Finally, what worked for me was to uninstall all the ports/USB hubs listed in Device Manager (they get automatically reinstalled with a soft reboot of the computer) again, download a driver from the Intel website (http://downloadcenter.intel.com/confirm.aspx?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/16023/a08/infinst_autol.exe&agr=&ProductID=&DwnldId=16023&strOSs=&OSFullName=&lang=eng) chipset installation utility and restart the computer.  When I plugged the USB cable from the printer, the normal process of new device was launched.
  • Windows XP crashes intermittently when stopping. Stuck on the screen with the default windows background color and the mouse pointer.

We are an OEM that systems of electronic Assembly is based, in our machine is a PC running Windows XP Professional that provides the interface for the operator. Some of our systems have begun to crash intermittently when stopping.  Up to now we have seen it on three machines.  There has been no change to hardware or drivers that we put on these machines.

The PC is supposed to stop at the point were he said "It is now turn off your computer", but it hangs when the only thing on the screen is the default windows background and the mouse pointer. The mouse moves, but that's all. He is unresponsive to ctrl-alt-delete, or any other entry.

This was reported 5 times, and in any case there's nothing in any log file which would tend to indicate where the problem is maybe.

I guess we have a bad driver or device, but the problem only happens once all stops of 5-10, and only after the machine is turned on for a while.

I just turned on the detailed status messages, but they did not stop the machine since.

What I asked is: is it possible to get windows to connect to all events stop? I really want to know what he was doing when he stopped.  Can someone else think something I can look at, or a better way to debug this?

Re: a suggestion on this new monitor to 'prove' is the source of the problem
Disconnect it, connect a type non-ecran touch "ordinary".
stop/restart in safe MODE, make sure that the old monitor is not appear in the Device Manager [what we used to call a ghost]
If it IS, delete it & uninstall the sw provided with touch screen
    Reboot in normal mode
    Try a stop
If you get the old orange it'S now SAFE, tell the seller about IT.

instead I required to connect manually by clicking on State-> Connect.

As previously he was showing server status DNS IP addresses, now it does not appear after connecting also.

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks guys...

After changing some settings wireless - bandwidth to value 'Standard' and MTU change, its done!

Finally, the problem has been resolved. Now I can connect automatically when I restart the router and display the DNS IP addresses too.

Thanks once again for most people trying to help me.

I have another question and I would like to post separately instead of mention here.

  • Reboot the error message

A windows update has been done today & the screen message says that I had to restart the computer - or I could see up to 4 hours.

I did as described, but even after reboot, the same message reappears & cannot be deleted, even if the operation was performed twice.

Windows updates may be damaged already. We suggest that you go to the registry to delete a key that may be a cause of this problem.

    1. press Windows + R on your keyboard and type regedit.
Before continuing, make sure you do a backup first. (Go to file - export - Save it to your desktop)
    2. go in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > WindowsUpdate > automatic update

3 on automatic update, you should see "RebootRequired.
(When running Windows Update, it creates the RebootRequired key. Once the Windows updates is complete, it must automatically delete this key. Corruption occurs when this key not deleted and you end up with the required reboot loop).

4 delete this 'RebootRequired' key, and then restart.

Let us know how it goes.

    Thank you.
