  Does anyone know why Extension MP3-Info (MP3Ext) does not work with Windows7 64 bit. I heard, that it works as expected with Windows7 32 bit, but I have only the 64-bit Version of Windows, so I can't check it out.

  In Windows 7 64 bits of the program can be installed, but the PropertyPage, icon Manager, and tooltips don't work.

  MP3Ext is an extension for Windows Explorer.

  It is a freeware program and can be downloaded with the source code in C++ here: http://www.mutschler.de/mp3ext/

  I'm not a C++ programmer, so the source code does not help me. But maybe someone can look at the code and can finally say, what's the problem.

  What you wrote is true for Windows 7 32 bit.

  The only solution is to recompile the Extension Mp3-Info (MP3Ext) with a 64-bit compiler C ++.

  The reason is that Windows Explorer is a 64-bit application and it cannot use the 32-bit dll from Extension Mp3-Info.

• Canon IP3500 printer works with Windows7 64 bit, but I can't make it work with my 32 bit Vista on a network computer.

  This configuration has worked with the previous XP machine in a network with Vista machine. After that replaces the xp machine, which is directly connected to the (now 7 machine) XP vista machine sees the printer but will not work. I get an error message indicating that the print server software does not work. I tried to install the driver on the machine 7 under x 86 drivers, but it fails to install.   You will need to check if the file and printer sharing is enabled on the Windows 7 computer.

  (b) to expand the current network profile, click the chevron.

  (c) if printer sharing is off, under file sharing and printers, select Open file and printer sharing, and then click save changes. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  Try the following.

  Unless you still have the installer, download the latest version of HP Support Assistant from the page on the link below - download links are to the bottom of the page - and Save the installer to your download folder.

  Then, if you do not have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip.  Please note that If you have a 64-bit installation, download and install the Installer x 64 64-bit .msi on the link below.

  Then, right click on the HPSA installer you download earlier, select Extract 7 - Zip, select the files, and then click Ok.  The newly extracted folder, right-click on UninstallHPSA and select "Run as Administrator" - you may well see no progress of this attempt uninstalling, then leave the laptop at idle for a good 10 minutes before restarting it.

  Open your download folder and delete the "record HPSA extracted" so you are just left with the original installer that you downloaded.

  Now run Microsoft 'Fixit' on the link below and use it to install the new version of HPSA.

  Contact HP support. If you format the HARD drive and do a clean install of Win7 (x 86) on your own:

  1. you will not have very specific HP drivers, which depends on the laptop; and

  2. you will invalidate your warranty and Service contract has been purchased.

  The foregoing, I think you (or the one who tells you the application "will not work" under Windows 64-bit) are wrong. If it "works" in Win7 (x 86), it should work just as well in Win7 64-bit.

  Try the following.

  First, uninstall Skype and when it is finished, restart the laptop.

  When windows has reloaded, download and reinstall the Chipset driver here.

  Once the installation is complete, restart the laptop.

  Let windows load completely, then download the installer of IDT Audio on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

  One time finished, open windows control panel, open Device Manager and open sound, video and game controllers.  Right click on the IDT device and select uninstall - also, you should get a command prompt to delete the current driver, check the box allow this and then proceed to uninstall.

  When you're done, shut down the laptop, unplug the AC adapter and then remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery, connect the power adapter and start Notepad.

  Let Windows load fully, then open your download folder, right-click on the IDT Installer and select "Run as Administrator" to launch the installation.  When this has completed, restart the computer again.

  Reinstall Skype and see if the MIC now works Ok.

  If the 64-bit version has been pre-installed, then you need to contact Acer to see if they have a 32-bit recovery disc.
