6343 DAQ OR with LM35

Hi all

Im trying LM35 with DAQ 6343.

But the output of LM35 is constantly 0, 5V, roughly 50degC based on the data sheet.

It is not in relation to the temperature of our room which is located at 26degC...

Even when I introduce heat near the sensor, the output always 0.5V.

I have 2 sensor & all have the same result.

Can someone help me?

Thank you...

Hello

Indeed, my setup was wrong. Thanks for the comments!

  • How to change the input range (DAQ assistant) with a digital command?

    Hello everyone

I am currently working with the NI USB-6218 acquisition card.

In order to acquire a signal, I would like to be able to choose the input range of the DAQ with a digital command Wizard (and not opening the window of DAQ assistant) (as 'number of sample' and section 'rate'...)

Is this possible and if so, how?

Thank you very much in advance for your answers!

You can't with the DAQ Assistant so just click on and select "generate the Code of OR-DAQmx. You can edit the Subvi who performs the installation.

We are looking to update a manual test area.

We are looking for a product DAQ with analog outputs capable of +/-12V

We are not generating waveforms. Just using LabVIEW to a tension he set in the range of - 12V and + 12V.

OR anything with this ability he selling?

I found the NI PCI-6703 and would serve our needs except that it is +/-10V.

    Good morning New York,

Consider the SMU-4322 or NI 9269. The SMU-4322 supports + / 16V by channel. The NI 9269 has 4 (+/-10V) channels that can be cascaded for isolated older tensions.

  • Using DAQ Assistant with a system remotely

I'm new to LabVIEW and National Instruments hardware and I am trying to use an instrument with LabVIEW using the DAQ Assistant. I use a PC with Windows Vista and I am connected via a network to a PXI-8108 controller in a PXI-1050 chasiss chassis. The instrument is just a thermocouple which I use to become familiar with everything. The thermocouple is connected and the connection SCB-68 block which is connected to a PXI-6221 multifunction data acquisition in the chassis. I am able to create a task in MAX under remote system and everything seems to work. What I want to do is to use this instrument in LabVIEW, and it seems that for this I need to use the DAQ Assistant, but when I do it says no supported device is found. I wonder if there is a way to get LabVIEW lean on the remote system to see the acquisition of data and the thermocouple.

    All advice is appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi all

Ben is correct.  RDA is no longer supported in DAQmx.  We have another way to use DAQmx with a remote system.  It is use DAQmx with an OPC server or simply by shared network variables.  There is a section of the base of knowledge here that should help you get started.  You should also take a look at the developer section area here.  The basic idea is that you can use a variable shared within labVIEW that is bound to a variable shared on your networked machine.  In this way, you can write and read values from a task DAQmx.  Look at the instructions in the above two items and let me know if you have any questions.

  • How does the DAQ hardware with data acquisition?

I'm sampling of 8 channels at 2.5 MHz I I need to know if the DAQmx 6133 I use gets every channel at 2.5 MHz or if she gets every channel (2.5/8) MHz. For example if I had a channel it can get up to 2.5 MHz, but if I get 8 channels, this channel will get samples in high 312, 5 kHz (= 2.5 / 8 MHz).

Can someone help me out here?

    Thank you

    Rafael

    Hello Rafael,.

The NI 6133 is a module for simultaneous sampling.  This means that there is an NOC for each channel on the device.   If you look at the Specifications for the 6133 OR you can see that the maximum sampling frequency is specified as 2.5 MS/second. There is one by the channel for this device specification.  Thus, you can enjoy all 8 channels at 2.5 MS per second instead of having to use the overall rate of 2.5/8 MS/second when acquiring on all channels.

  • Enter DAQ Signal kept rising and if stop Max voltage when it is run with nothing attached

I just installed card PCI-6229 and a BNC-2110 (Labview 8.6V). When I started entry DAQ signal kept rising and stop at the max voltage (10V) operating with nothing attached (instead of changing to 0 all about). I was wondering what is the problem with him and how to solve. Configuration of terminal was "differential".

I just created a DAQ entry with range and loop watch. Please let me know if I did something wrong

    Thank you

I just reread your original post.  Why do you have the terminal setting to differential?  This looks like one configuration over for me.  Change the terminal setting in CSR.  With a differential setting. you need connect an AI1 source and another source to AI9.  The difference between the two will be reported.  With CSR, will count only AI1 and tension concerning the ground will be reported.  Make sure you have your AO ground related to your soil to HAVE.

You need a counter for each encoder. Because you are going to use 6 encoders, you should get a DAQ hardware with 6 or more counters. Take a look at the PCI-6624 or PCI-6602. Another option would be a CompactDAQ chassis with modules that are able to access counters. Take a look at them.

  • PXI-5112 with XP, LV 2010 (and the determination of review)

Just found an old PXI-5112. I could do great with this card things if I could make it work.

When I first plugged it to my PXI chassis, it was detected in MAX as a device of NOR-DAQ traditional with the latest version of NOR-DAQ traditional (7.4.4). However, when I tried to open a test Panel on this subject, I received a message that the device "failed the test". If I open the Panel test in any case, I get an error-10840 (soft error).

I called OR support on this subject and the engineer found this article in the knowledge base for me:

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/E956B50E8E0FC44E86256B030062CA2E

I then tried to determine my Board review. I read the first issue I've found which corresponded to the model. It was on a sticker on the side rear of the Council and read "702864 A-01". This vignette, we determined that my Board is A revision.

I tried following the advice that knowledge base article and install OR-DAQ 6.7.0 and 1.6 NO-SCOPE. With this combination, I can load up the SCOPE screws with LV 8.2.1, but when I try to run an example VI on my device, "DAQ::6", it fails to initialize the jury with "method or function not defined", or something like that. With NEITHER-DAQ 6.8.1 and 1.6 NO-SCOPE, I get a lot of impossible to find DLL errors attempting to perform the SCOPE of EIS. With NEITHER-DAQ 7.4.4 and 1.6 NO-SCOPE, I get the same old "Undefined function or method. If I try to run the VI on the wrong channel, like "DAQ::1", I get 'Device does not exist', he seems to recognize the device, just not being able to do something with it.

I'm about to give up on this, but I just realized that there are FIVE different numbers printed on my Board which match the pattern in this knowledge base article.

White sticker on chip on the back: 702864A - 01 Copyright 2000 NI

Yellow sticker on chip on the back: 703058A - 01

Printed in black on the login Panel: C 186030-01 REV1

Printed in white on the back of the PCB: 184196E-01

Printed in white on the front of the PCB: ASSY184194E-01

There is also a label with bar code with C3297D, which I think is the serial number. The guy NOR tried searching but couldn't find anything.

An interesting thing in particular on these numbers is that the ASSY184194E-01 contains the same exact number that is given as an example in this article in the knowledge base for a tray of Rev E: 184194E-01

I have two questions, if anyone can help:

    1. does anyone here have a PXI-5112, Rev A or one E, in no case to work in Windows XP?

    2. which one of these numbers should I trust to identify revision of my Board? It seems like that might be either A, C or E.

    Thank you!

    Max

    Hey Maxwell,

You are right that the serial number is C3297D, and the part number for the Board should be 184194E-01, indicating that it is revision E and is a module of 16 MB/ch PXI-5112. When you got the error, you said you had traditional-DAQ 7.4.4, but I'm not clear what version of NOR-SCOPE, you had. OR-SCOPE has been installed in the system at this time?

If you plan to run this Board in LabVIEW 2010 on a Windows XP-based computer, you need to install OR-SCOPE 3.6.2 in order to get all the support you need. As long as you are running a 64 bit OS, the PXI-5112 should function normally. OR-SCOPE 3.6.2 is the oldest version of the driver that will support LabVIEW 2010 (it will support LabVIEW 8.5.1 and more later). Seems to me that previous errors, you have been doing are the result of incompatibilities between versions of your different software/driver. If you install this latest version of NOR-SCOPE, it must include all the right support you need (traditional-DAQ 7.4.4, OR-SCOPE 3.6.2 support for LabVIEW 2010, NOR-DAQmx 9.1.5, MAX 4.7, etc.). Unfortunately, the only way to get NO-SCOPE 3.6.2 is through the CD August 2010 device drivers (DCD). Once you start the installation, you can select always right to install NO-SCOPE and not the rest of the drivers in the package if you do not want. Of course, having the latest updates of all might not be a bad idea, or if you want to just install everything.

Moreover, all the part numbers you listed (except the last) are parts numbers for specific elements of the PXI-5112 (Panel connection, the real PCB, CPLD chip, etc.). The assembly number is the one you are looking for. Sorry for the confusion.

    Best regards!

  • Problems with the VISA series connection (missed the ticks in the data)

    Hello

I designed a DAQ card with USB connection. The USB connection works in virtual Com Port mode.

The main vi a while loop. The sampling time is defined by the user and the hand while loop iterates of this time of the sample (for example, 5ms, 10ms or...). Communication of the data is made in the present while loop using VISA read or write tools. Data are stored in global variables so the other could read or change.

There are screws separate for each part of the DAQ card input analog, digital output and... Each vi has its own time while in a loop which iteration step may be different from the large loop.

The program works correctly, but there are a lot of ticks of "rate" in the communication of data. I've attached a screenshot of input analog vi. A sine wave is produced with output analog vi and this output is connected to an analog input. As you can see the data transmission has problems.

This caused several loops work simultaneously? Or communication VISA has problems?

    Thanks in advance.

The main problem I see with your VI is that you use bytes to the Port which is the wrong thing to use about 99% of the time.  It seems that you are trying to break around 31 bytes and turn them into numbers.  Suppose that at the moment, you check the bytes, a port, you have received only 28 of these bytes.  Some of the variables will find 0 because you have all the data.  But on the next play, you will have the remaining 3 bytes so everything from the.  Now your data package is misaligned.

I suggest that if you want 31 pieces of information, you just put a constant 31 reading VISA and get rid of bytes to node Port.

Other advice.  Index table is EXPANDABLE!  You don't need to create 31 copies of the index table and wire a constant to each of them.  Remove a node, and expand the bottom border down that you need.  You don't even have to add all the constants, because by default it will give you index 0, index 1, index 2...

  • RF Mux PXI-2546 driver stops working when DAQ SMU-6259 is used.

Hi, I am experiencing a very strange thing. I have a system with two 1065 equipped chassis with about 15 different instruments.

It was working fine and has done for several years. Today the SMU-6363 DAQ crashed, I tried to replace it with a spare DAQ SMU-6259. I started with switching just the daq spare in but then the computer crashed every time during the installation of the pilot SMU-6259. So I thought that I need a driver update and installed DAQmx 15.1 (previous version was 14.5). It has not made any change. Computer always crashes constantly. Finally I found that if I remove the PXI - 2546 Rfmux in the SMU-6259 DAQ system will install and work properly. But now Rfmux PXI-2546 will not work when acquiring data SMU-6259 are installed on the system. I can get the Rfmux to work if I take the DAQ and vice versa.

Why is it like this and what can I do to solve?

I do not understand why a PXI-2546 Rfmux and an SMU-6259 DAQ interfere with one another.

    / Erik

Hi Anton, thanks for your answer!

Yes, it's very strange. I narrowed down it to these two devices. I got the blue screen during the installation of the Windows driver. So I tried first update the driver OR DAQmx. Who did not have any change.

Then I tried to roll back the NOR-DAQmx driver to a previous version. Crashes stopped then, but I could not both devices to work simultaneously. In the windows Device Manager, he showed a problem for the NI DAQ PXI-2546 peripheral device. I don't know why a mux is considered DAQ hardware either. The description of the problem says "some free resources". If I could get the Rf mux to work if I unplugged the daq and vice versa.

For the last two days, I was reinstall the system from scratch. I'm not done yet because it takes so much time to do this, but it seems to be ok now. But what a pain. I started with just the driver Rf Mux (Switch).

To do this I had to download almost 3 GB! For a 2 x 4 x 1 Mux driver. Then, the driver for the installed switch some NOR-DAQmx which I had to then update and download even more.

I think that NEITHER makes it very complicated with the pilot stuff. Instead of having these huge drivers packages which supposed to cover everything, it would be better with the smaller specific device drivers that could be easily found on the web under each device.

In any case I hope it should work ok now. I wonder what will happen when I get home my repaired SMU-6363. Should I plug it in or simply do not bother because I could face the same problem again?

    / Erik

  • problem reading DAQmx using Measurement Studio 2010 (even with examples OR)

    Hi all

I'm reading the voltage using a map of NOR-DAQ-6211 with Measurement Studio 2010 SP1 V9.1.0.204. using Visual Basic .net 2010.
When I create the task of data acquisition with the measurement studio Wizard, (Assistant DAQ) everything works fine. However, when I try to create my own task player in looking over the "ContAcqVoltageSamples_IntClk" everything I read is a value in the range of Vmin to Vmax (or to Vmin Vmax) and then she stays there no matter if I change my diet. Vmin and Vmax does not yet match my values of voltage. (It acts like that on my application and example of OR) I guess I missed a few initial settings. The config of AIChannel in two projects (manual task and Augo-Gen) use AIChannelConfig.RSE (I tried other options, but no luck).

The only wiered thing is that when I open examples of projects, VS does not recognize the object references of NOR. Workspace names DAQmx. When I check the references, it shows that it does not find the reference to NI.Common. To make it work/compilation, removed from the solution and I again added. (I don't think this is related, as it seems that there are available tensions but not read correctly).

The other thing is that my input voltage is 3 or 0 volt. When you use the manual DAQtask, when I toggle the voltage, the values displayed change momentarily the order of 0.001 Volts and then go back to their previous values of Vmax and Vmin.

Is there more information I can provide?

    Help, please
    Thank you

Yay! I just solved my problem,

From the first moment I knew there was something fishy about this AITerminalConfig thingy! I made two errors:

    1. in the code example Configuration AI is encoded: CType (-1, AITerminalConfiguration) that caused the code example does not work for all channels to HAVE it

2 - also, I have in my code, I had put this config to the correct value, but I was checking ai0 all the time while the signal was on another I. I was under the impression that since the example does not work for all my channels, then probably my code does not work as well.

If after changing the line in the example for the correct terminal configuration settings, he began working for the AI number I was looking for too much and I found that my code worked for my AI # correctly from the beginning. I wasn't just to see it!
