6500 E709n Wireless guard disconnect!

My 6500 E709n Wireless works fine... when it works.  After whenever I use it, it seems to disconnect itself from my wireless network, either demanding that I turn it on / off, restart my computer, at the same time or as was the case tonight, reinstall it.  It's extremely frustrating, because he completely defeated the purpose of why I bought it first.  Does anyone else have this problem and any ideas on how to prevent that from happening?  Thank you!

Sorry, but it is a very common problem with the 6500 (and 8500).

The best solution that works sometimes is to set a static IP address:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you know what it is, set an IP address outside this range but not exceeding 254 (the last number of the address).  If you don't know it, enter the current IP address.
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Let the gateway and DNS white.  Click on ' apply

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

If this does not work, change the channel of your router to 11.  Yes, that sounds strange... just try it.

    FINSFANLH43, just to let you know, Windows 8 and Windows 8 Preview of consumption are two different operating systems. Some software that is configured for Win8 will never work in the 'test' environment, it's the preview.

    Unfortunately, the preview is not fully active operating system and is not fully supported by our printers. The operating system can sometimes install OS for printer drivers after be directly plugged into a USB port and go through the process of automatic detection of computers. Even with that, you would be limited only to be able to print.

    I installed Win8 Preview on my netbook to learn the operating system, but quickly discovered the limitations of the preview and was to return to my operating system previous to use all my programs and devices.

    Your best option is to be return back as I did for a previous operating system or buy the Win8 complete software if you like how your computer works now. I have worked with Win8 during these last weeks, and it's a good operating system.

  • The inability to find a printing process of an Apple Ipad 4 G on a HP 6500 E709n wireless printer

    I spent hours trying to find a way coinnecting my Apple Ipad on my HP 6500 printer in network wireless.

    I found and downloaded the HP eprint App on my Ipad. This allows me to select the HP printer, as they are both wireless connected to the router. However, when I select Print in any application, the Eprint dialog box informs me that no printer is available for selection.

    I tried to contact HP Support, to see if there is a solution to this problem, but I have been informed that they are not reachable by e-mail, chat or by telephone as it is all offline.

    Someone has a solution to this problem, HP could not resolve for 2011 from all the sites I visited. Apparently the HP 6500 has can eprint, but the 6500 E709n can't, why? is the obvious question. I have also tried to download app PrintShare Mobile Print from Amazon, but couldn't find a way to allow applications Amazon on my Apple Ipad as the suggested solution 'Activate Unknown Source ' is not available in my installation setting.

    The Geeks who have found an answer to this long-standing problem would be very welcome to share their knowledge with all Untermench.

    Hi, your printer (E709n) model is not a web printer enabled, that is, it doesn't have its own address of email ePrint, contrary to the 6500 a (series E710). However, it is compatible with the HP ePrint mobile printing application and you should be able to print from a mobile device with the installed application, as many times the printer and the camera are connected to the same WiFi network (through a router).

    My Control Panel on my 6500 E709n series all-in-one wireless printer is all confused and I cannot read it, what can I do about it?  I use Windows 7 Home premium on 2 desktop computers, 1 XP on 1 computer desktop and Windows 7 Home Premium on my laptop, the printer is set up on a home network.

    You can access the internal settings of the printer by typing its IP address in the browser address bar.  You can get the IP address of your printer by printing a Test network without wire in the network menu on the front panel.

    Yes, it's very good information.  Thank you to be thorough to me.  I actually had this happen to me personally on my Windows XP and printer Photosmart older (different error message but even constant pop up).  I could easily (but a lot of time, I might add) fix my problem of:

    1. uninstall the printer from Add/Remove programs.

    2. run cleaning disc of all programs > Accessories > system tools > disk cleanup.

    3 restart the PC.

    4 selection of a backup in CCleaner system option and then cleaning the registry using this tool. Click here and carefully read the reviews in CNET and opt to download the tool to see what I mean.

    5. restart the PC again.

    6. can download and install my printer on the site, but in your case, here are the drivers and the software feature full Officejet 6500 Wireless (the link is for the version of Windows 7 32-bit PC U.S.).

    This can become very difficult at times, so I want to provide this very comprehensive document from HP which covers your exact error message and their favorite not to try.  Mine are a little easier but a 'tad - little' more risky because I provided a link to a specific 3rd registry part cleaner that you use at your discretion (there are others out there).  I like it because I can back up my system first in the case where that something else has been removed should not have been.  I don't have that happen, fortunately.  Please read this document as well just to be on the safe side.  I'm here to help (do not do worse) so let me know if I need to explain something better, but I think that you have everything you need here to start.

    I would like to help on setting of the frequent expired connections that my mac experiences almost every 3 hours. It comes to take - we have two Mbit/s, used by me and other is my father. We also have four other devices connected to a wireless router and all but the impeccable work Mbps without any downtime. I noticed that almost every 3 hours, connections of the MEC are lacking. It shows on the top that its connected but nothing to really opens and after a few minutes that Safari puts the message the page cannot be displayed.

    I tried a number of approaches to solve this problem, but the problem still persists. Two of my windows devices work constantly without any disconnection, while only the Mac have a problem with my router. The diagnosis shows the connection is in healthy but its actually expired. I even deleted the connection of the Terminal settings and reset it but the thing timed out still exists. The router is Asus N10E and all my macs running the latest OSX.

    If your Wi - Fi source is capable of generating a 5 GHz Wi - Fi network, try that in order to avoid conflicts with Bluetooth.

    I've read on the Web from Toshiba site is made to save energy, so I changed the network adapter settings so that it will go to off when running on battery power.
    After I restarted several times, it still has the same problem. Am I the only one having this problem? How can I solve this problem?

    Where did you change these settings? In Vista/Win7 power management?
    Please note that these settings can be changed there too.

    In addition it s recommended to update the WLan driver and checking if the BIOS is updated.

    I've used the scanner before without any problem. I have Windows Vista. I tried to scan yesterday and got the message: no scan options and refer to the documentation for the device. I ran the diagnostic analysis, HP Scanner TWAIN of the scanner did not and then the HP scanning application no longer works and I got the message to remove my printer software and reinstall. I did and received this message: the old version of HPSSupply cannot be deleted contact technical support. Fatal error and MSI. SUBCOMMITTEE. I was initially using the wireless printer. Since yesterday, I reinstalled the software twice and tried both wireless and USB cable. No luck with either.

    P.S. I tried reinstalling again and got another fatal error message, this time with a number: 1714. Then I looked at the HP site and found the message below. The problem is that I have Vista, not XP. Now what? Thanks in advance for any help.

    I just purhcased a HP Probook 450 G1 - nice piece of kit but boy, I'm ready to throw it out the window already! The past, I spent 2 days set up, familiarize myself with the user-friendly windows not so 8 and transfer all my data from my other trusted and well liked by HP 4525 to see now that the wireless disconnects every 4-5 minutes on the new laptop.

    I've seen go looking on the internet it seems to be a fairly common problem with Windows 8 Pro that came pre-installed on it (I used Windows 7 Professional on my old HP).

    Can someone give me a decent solution to how to solve this problem. I have reset things like power as some settings proposed although I noticed that the problem seems especially coming at the opening of new Web pages using IE.

    I also get the pop following ups / system errors:

    It's really frustrating because I have invested in this new laptop - bought directly from HP - to run my business I really on the internet at any time to access.

  • Need help: Officejet 6500 E709n wireless installation

    After a month of successful use of the Officejet 6500 from my laptop (running XP Professional SP 3) wireless I suddenlly lost the connection. I have recently added a new software. I couldn't add the printer because it is not visible, even by using its IP address) to attempt to reinstall the drivers. I tried the original CD and both the full and scan and print install download options, both hang on to 94% full.  I used the HP help nothing works cat. The HP network diagnostic utility sees the printer and the fine network and does not indicate any problem. Yet, no installation or the HP Print diagnostic utility programs can see the printer.  I tried each facility several times, including repeat downloads. I am able to access the wireless printer from a Vista desktop and another laptop running Windows 7. The printer (and functions) works very well.  However, the XP laptop is my machine of the company, and I need it to work.  Any suggestions? Is there a way to install all the drivers without all the other stuff?

    If printing is all you need, then I can help you.

    1. Go to the printers and Faxes folder, and click Add a printer.
    2. Now select "Locally connected printer" and UNCHECK "automatically detect the device.
    3. Now on the next screen, choose to create a TCP\IP port for the IP address of the printer.
    4. On the next screen, you will be asked to select the driver. Click on the 'Disk' button, then browse and select the file "autorun.inf" of the printer installation disc. Now the printer driver appears. Go ahead and select it.
    5. Complete the add a Printer Wizard and try printing.

    I would like to know if it works.

  • HP Officejet 6500 E709n wireless. Will not print Word documents or text edit.

    I'm connected wireless with an iMac Snow Leopard and MacAir 10.8.2, Mountain Lion 10.6.8.  I have used this system for a year, had no problems printing to date.  I am able to print a .jpg attachment but nothing else, we try to print (from computers) is printed.  I tried to print a Word document as well from a text edit page with no luck.  Two days ago, I was able to print from a Word document - nothing has been changed on the computer or the printer.  I am naïve.

    How is the printer connected?  Would it be a network, what router?  You've restarted the router by pulling its plug momentarily?  You've restarted the printer?

    There are a growing number of messages in this forum and elsewhere in the internet with the steps to do a reset on different printers.  Reset to will sometimes fix problems, so resetting is not the issue.

    A few resets require you to enter key combinations to open special menus on your printer that you were supposed to never access.  These special menus are used by developers and staff support for debugging of problems, but they are not intended for inexperienced users and can have unexpected results.  A wrong button push and you might no longer have a printer, but rather an expensive paper weight.  On top of that, if you happen to the 'brick' the printer in this way, it is considered as customer induced damage and voids the warranty automatically. These resets are only intended to be distributed and used as a last resort and under the direct instruction of a representative of the HP technical support. They should not be made lightly!

    My OS is Win XP.  My printer keeps locking up.  I found a forum that says to use #6 when starting.  It works for a few hours, but it ends by crashes again once it goes into mode 'sleep'.  I found another blog that said to install the latest firmware.  I discover that I have firmware version 907AR, and HP web site has 935AR.  I downloaded the update and tried to install it.  He gets where extract the files, and then it throws the following error:

    Has anyone else had the same problem?  I disabled the wireless printer and connected to my PC via USB to perform the installation.  I tried to save the firmware utility and running it from my hard drive and it works on the HP website with the same result.

    Never mind.  I followed the instructions by NOT using my wireless connection.  The printer connected to the USB port caused the installation fails.  When I ran the update, while the printer is connected wireless, the installation worked.  I just did the update, so I'll have to wait and see if it solves the problem with the gel printer.
