7 D AUTO FOCUS SPEED

Will be a Canon 7 d faster with a 70-200f4 then with a 55-250 lens?

YES. AF is dependent on two body & lens. Another thing that helps speed up AF upward is lenses that have what we call a switch of limitation of the development. They allow you to stop the player objective AF switch 1 end of the AF training all the way to the other before reversing the back. (for example the lens can AF from 1 meter to infinity the switch can be set to prevent research under 6 meters before starting to infinity). Generally L-series lenses AF significantly faster than the quality of consumer lenses.

  • Using the auto focus with a tripod

What is the recommendation for the use of the auto focus with a tripod and remote wireless shutter release?

It depends on the subject. If autofocus could "fool" by distracting elements (i.e. shooting a bird in a tree where branches could 'steal' the update) and then proceed to the manual. If AF would work pocket so no reason to switch to MF.

If the lens has Image stabilization to consult the manual of the lens. Some require IS be turned off when on a tripod.

  • Auto focus does not work in the creative modes

I use EOS 600 d for the past three years. I was and I am not able to auto focus in creative modes. I actually thought that there is no installation of the auto focus in creative modes. Only when I attended a workshop in Chennai yesterday, I got to know the automatic update facility is available in creative modes too.  I tried with three lenses and in all cases autofocus does not work in the creative modes only. In basic mode, it works well. I browsed the forum and found to RESET. How a reset should be done? Someone please explain. I can't find any updated firmware for 600 d.

Thank you, Mr.Waddizzle. I did a reset according to your advice and now AF works in the creative modes also. Thank you.

  • Auto focus problem Canon 70 d in T, A, M, P mode

    Help, please?

Auto focus on my Canon 70 d does not work in P, T, A and M mode, everything works perfectly in Auto, CA and SCN mode.

I have to press the AF button - it focus when you take a picture. But if I use mode live view, that autofocus does not work normally.

I think that by pressing the shutter button in halfway should always begin by focusing, also for the T, A, M and P mode?

I tried to restore factory settings, but it does not help a thing.

Y at - there somewhere a setting I should change, I think bad or my camera does not work properly?

    Thanks for any help!

    Regard, Gerard

    Hi Gerard,.

The 70 d (like most Canon DSLRs) has customization options to assign the button (s) perform the function of auto focus (AF). Looks like these options have been changed from their original default settings.

To see if this is the case, check the settings of the C.Fn III on your camera. See pages 383-386 of your manual. You can see that your shutter button is more set to start AF perfom.

You can reset those C.Fn III - 4 setting default original settings by pressing the "trash icon" while in the menu screen shown in step 3 on page 383. See note in blue at the bottom of this page.

And note that the option 'Clear all camera settings', found on page 61 of the manual does not reset the custom functions. This can therefore explain why your restore settings try earlier did not help.

  • Why my auto focus does not work like Julieann K does in his tutorial

I tried to use the auto focus selection, as shown in the tutorial by julianne k and it does not work.

After reading your response, I realized that my photo file was huge, so I reduced the entire file significantly down for something like 8 x 10 and it worked fine.  My account was just too big. I tired of small files, and the update worked.  the file may not just be very big. I thought that after you suggested I go to 8-bit. Thanks David

  • Auto focus stopped working all of a sudden

    Hello dear community,

my English is not that good, I'm sorry.

    Here's my problem:

a few days earlier, I wanted to take a quick snapshot of a nice car but the camera was only in black, I tried to get to the front camera (it took a while), but it worked perfectly fine. I restarted, hard I restarted, reset etc after that I dropped. Somedays later, my camera was working again except the autofocus on the back and the front camera (!). I tried everything like unlock the AF lock by pressing the screen about 2 or 3 seconds until it said AF-unlocked. > > > Does not.

There is no damage of fall or something like that. There is no dust or other dirt on the camera back, he just used focusing. I think that the update to 9.2.1. the cause of the problem of camera. I have this iPhone for about 2 or 2.5 years and the camera never stopped working like that.

I hope you can help me.

    Greetings from the Germany.

  • random auto focus problem Canon EF-S 18-55

    Hello

I have worked with Canon EF-S 18-55 IS NO Lenes and have found a problem that I just can't seen to solve. The problem is I get autofocus, but at times it will not focus. I changed the card with a known good, engine Assembly, contacts with good looking for work units but not the contact Strip because they seem good.

The Assembly moves freely with little resistance. I've also seen this problem on the IS versions too but especially on versions IS.

I'm looking for any other suggestions that could solve the problem.

Well I finally found out what the problem was and fixed 3 Lenes.

  • Focus problems with Rebel T3i. It will not be in manual or auto focus point. It's not about camera lens

My camera will not focus. Not only the autofocus. I can't he focus even if I put manual focus.

    The image is still blurry.

First I thought it was the lens I had but I tried with several, and the problem is the same.

Any ideas what could be the problem?

    Thank you

Have you checked the viewfinder diopter?  , It will be not clear even on the manual focus, and it happens with all your lenses makes me think that it is possible that the dial tiny bit right there on the eyepiece was implemented accidental market. The dial control what you see in the viewfinder, not something to do with the focus lens. The diopter is adjustable so that those who need glasses can see things through the viewfinder.  If everything still seems blurry even when the camera thinks he's focused it is generally just that little diopter got hit accidentally.

IFIT is not this, then perhaps your screen focus got shifted.

  • Auto focus does not work anymore

    Hi all

The autofocus on my EOS 50 d has stopped working. I have tried different lenses, checked the settings (it is not in manual mode), cleaned the contacts, etc.. One day, it worked very well, and then stopped.

When I try to focus, the sounds of the lens as if he tries, but going fuzzy instead. I'm so sick about it! Some lenses are only a year and most are IS. I tried to turn the EAST also. Nothing helps.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me? Thank you!

The camera or lenses have never been abandoned or ill-treated.

Thank you very much in advance for your help,.

Generally, when the AF sensor goes bad or is 'very' dirty, the lens will hunt for AF.  I take your camera to a service center and cleaned him up.  I bet that this has never been done. Right?

Are - what you happened to select a point of unique focus by mistake?  Try to reset the camera by default before you do anything.

Whenever something happens out of the ordinary, the first thing to do is to reset the camera.  Always do the easy things first.  Then things cheaper.

Get a new battery of Cannon and make sure it is loaded completely.  The Chargers go bad too.

  • The rebels x3i (600 d) auto focus not working not not in Zone creation mode. Works very well in the basic modes.

I bought a refurbished Canon Canon x3i after my extended warranty Ritz camera became useless and my xTi (400 d) died last summer. The camera has been excellent until very recently.

About a week or two ago the autofocus stopped working. I think it all started when I decided to try the objective of refurbished Canon 50mm 1.8 that I bought on the internet. He has not worked for that lens, and has not worked in the design area since.

There is an asterisk (*) in the lower left corner of the viewfinder. It is an indicator of progress of AE. There is no active focus. Sometimes, the nine of them will be light, but it doesn't mean anything.

Based on responses from other posts on the forum, I tried different objectives EOS (I have two rebel film cameras) and I tried the LiveView. The same problem. I can live with the situation, but, obviously, I'd rather not.

Naturally, the manual focus works fine.

The pins on the camera look and feel fine - no elbows or broken bits. The pins look good, too, even the 50mm lenses.

(I have not contacted Canon, yet, because the after-sales guarantees are usually 30 to 90 days, but I will contact them tomorrow)

I don't think that you have found the free camera.  You MUST clear all settings.  Looks like you have memorization of commissioning.

  • question hd 5000 life - cam with auto focus in Windows 7

I bought Microsoft Lifecam HD 5000 everything works fine, except the autofocus. He constantly readjusts the focus with the slightest movement, and it takes a few seconds to correct themselves. I was wondering if there is a problem with the software. I don't have 1Gig of Ram, so I thought it might be.

I am currently running Windows 7. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Hi Mrfroodlin,

I suggest you to update the LifeCam software and then check to see if it makes a difference

  • SAL20F28 does not auto focus with THE - EA3 on A7r

I just bought a lens wide angle of SAL20F28 but autofocus does not work with a converter of THE - EA3 on the A7r. Is this normal? or is there a problem with my copy?

Lenses that have no Smooth Autofocus Motor (SAM) or Super Sonic wave Motor (SSM), such as the SAL-20F28, won't autofocus with the LA - EA3 attached to a camera to mount E. You will need to the lens of THE-EA4 mount adapter in order to have an autofocus on the SAM/SSM A-lens.

  • The manual focus ring on my zoom EF-S 18-135 lens does not seem to indulge in the optics to change orientation

The manual focus ring on my Canon 18-135mm EF-S is free to turn if the switch is in the position AF or MF. It does not change the focus. Auto focus works well. Another objective of zoom seems to allow a manual focus without difficulty. What have I forgotten?

What is the new version of the STM or the old version non - STM of the 18-135?  It will make a difference in the operation of the focus ring.

If this is the version non - STM (original 18-135), then you should _not_ attempt to focus of the lens manually with the switch auto focus mode AF.

If it's the version of the STM (new 18-135) then you can rotate the focus ring if the switch of autofocus is AF or MF (but it wont focus unless the unit is on and not asleep.)  For example press the shutter button halfway to reactivate and work the focus ring).

Most of the USM goals (there is no version of the 18-135 USM) allow the ring to be returned if the device is in AF or MF mode.  The ring is basically a like a sweet clutch and there a few deliberately built sliding- and these rings of just development will keep turns and turns... There is no hard stop for the ring.
