(7) wireless, ethernet LAN (XP)

I can't connect ethernet (LAN) to my desktop from my laptop wireless again. I've done it before. I will show an icon of connection of 100 Mbps well, says I'm connected but I'm not according to the description of the network. Realtek ethernet adapter. After repair, I get a cannot resolve the IP address, so I manually enter. Some parameters are trying to contact the computer laptop w/l by modem, including 7 isn't.

Thanks for trying to help me. I am trying to connect by connecting my laptop (7) wireless to my desktop (XP), using ethernet. I get the lights of the active connection 10/100 both computer ethernet ports. The Office attempts to call the wireless laptop when I use the settings for a connection, infrared, parallel or series (Com1). I tried many combinations of selections of methods to make the connection. When I click on 'repair' on the desktop, I get a "cannot resolve the IP network", so I manually enter on the "config. adapter "- Advanced tab-(bus 8 AtherosPCI8103). Then, the Office tries to establish a connection, but cannot. By clicking "Solve network problems" gives me a problem of DHCP message box. I'll try to use my Netgear Prosafe desktop switch, plug the ethernet cable from the laptop, in the 10/100 port, then a cable ethernet on the desktop but (1) I don't have a second cable right now and (2) it's the same thing. I don't have access to the wireless router that provides internet access to our home network (1 desktop by ethernet and 1 another wireless laptop). A few times when I used a combination of alternatives and actually got a viable link according to the network on the desktop icon, it drops my phone when I tried to do a web siteclicked on IE (on the desktop IBM) and stopped everything. I saw a patch on the Microsoft support site, but I can't access the Internet to download sp3 for XP first. BULB-try to use a flash (thumb) drive to get the wireless desktop downloads. In fact, I need on the desktop are all up-to-date virus definitions, etc., then maybe that I can also obtain from the w/l on the desktop through file sharing.

    With my HP Desktop Pavilion P6-2417eb on a 64-bit Windows 8.1 platform, I have serious problems to connect to a network or the internet. The office is connected to a router with wifi capabilities and modem broadband with wireless internet capabilities.

    Several other devices (computer laptop Lan and Wifi; Android tablets; IOS Tablet; netbooks; NAS server) are connected to the network via wifi and Ethernet LAN calbe with no problems.

    After a long period of crossing possible problems, I come to the conclusion that it is a problem of my dekstop PC-related equipment. In the past, a reboot of the desktop computer was enough to settle the problem, but these days it is no longer possible. This afternoon I was able to connect for 15 min and after it ended again. It was the first in a week again. I post this message with my laptop. I have 4 possible for Internet connection but no wok with this desktop computer.

    The following products do not work in my desktop pc:

    • Ethernet Lan, Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller
    • WiFi, Ralink RT5390R 802.1bgn Wifi adapter

    What can I do? What are the solutions?

    The only suggestions I can offer would be to see if updating the drivers for these devices help everything.

  • Wireless and LAN problem with Thinkpad

    Im having serious problems with my Thinkpad T61p on my wireless and LAN drivers (at least I think it is the drivers, could be something else). This can be a long explanation, but please bear with me.

    Yesterday, after seeing an example on the net, I tried to connect my xbox 360 to my laptop. I thought I'd be able to play on the xbox wireless using the laptop as a gateway to my router. I never had any problems before with logins, and had the wireless on my home network.

    After plugging in an Ethernet cable into the laptop and xbox (following the instructions, I had online), I became "Network connections", (start-> Control Panel-> network connections). I had used a cable to connect your desktop to my laptop before and normally when you go to network connections, the connection between them appears as an icon. This time, has no icon.

    I decided to try and create a connection. At this point my wireless was still working because I was always browsing the net. On the left sidebar, I clicked on "create a new connection". Hit next, and then click the radio button "set up an advanced connection." "Accept inbound connections" option box pressed, the next button. Finally, a link has been created, but when I went to go again my wireless connection dropped. I went back and removed the link to "network connections".

    I opened "Logins" and tried to connect to my home profile. No results. I tried clicking on 'Search' to see were there any other networks available and all I kept getting was: "the wireless radio is turned off. You want to turn on? ". Press 'Yes', landmark of waiting a few seconds, click on 'Search' again, same message. No matter what I did, I couldn't get the wireless to turn on. So I found this thread:

    and decided it was best to update access connections. It came as a default as version 4.42 so I updated to 5.12. Rebooted and tried again. Now the wireless starts up fine, but when I look for my router connections, some networks are located.

    Another strange thing I see is that when I try to 'Create a new connection' 'Network connections', select 'Create a home or small business network', keep the progression through each other, it is to choose connections it is said that both my wireless and LAN are disconnected.

    I think I have either disabled or deleted the ethernet LAN on my NB200 to remove it from the system tray. (I can use WiFi integrated for networking and access to the internet or an external Bluetooth adapter with my Telstra Next G phone as a modem.)

    Now, I want to activate and use the ethernet port, so I can connect to an old - ish computer using a crossover cable to copy a bunch of files, however I can not the LAN ethernet works again. I tried several times to add hardware and uninstall/reinstall the driver (downloaded from this site), reboot, & etc. without success.

    Any tips or suggestions? Has anyone seen a similar problem before?
