8.1 and boot up update is not completed
I have a hp Pavilion G6 and I've used it since August.
I am trying to update to 8.1 and it downloads the update before shutdown to restart.
But when it starts again, it remains on the development phase on boot HP.
I've left to himself for the last two hours with absolutely no change.
It is the second time it happens, the last time, after an hour I turned it off manually.
Any help here?

Problem reinstalling Windows XP
I'm having a problem reinstalling Windows XP. After formatting the disk and create partitions, it will not complete the installation. He goes back and reinstall Windows again. I go through the installation of 39 minutes, the computer restarts to complete and it loops back and start the installation again. Why it does this and what I can do to move beyond this?
Go into the BIOS and make sure that you your hard drive is not set to off, and that is the first priority boot CD and your second HD.
Don't push when it restarts anything just to let him do what he does and report back if anything I'm sorry I have no idea.

KB978601 and KB979309 - Windows Update would not download
Hello
I'm trying to install all of the updates for my Windows 7 (x 64, PL), but both of the subject do not want to download. Windows Update all the time to see the "0 KB 0%. On my second PC, I also have Windows 7 (x 64, EN), but here all the updates (inside these two topic) were downloaded and installed successfully.
Do you have some advice on this?
eckko,
The 'Ko 0% 0' indicates usually that updates were downloaded already in the system or that they are regulated, and the system is in a Quebec awaiting their download. Because updates are from April of this year, then it must be assumed that it is a new installation or reinstallation of Windows 7.
Updates are intended to solve the problem shown here-

Thunderbolt Display Firmware update could not complete.
Hello.
Am myself a brand new Mac Pro recently and I'm loving it. Hooked up to my old TB screen which is unused to cause a few months the all-in-one cable is broken. Not much, I bought a cable TB, and used only to plug it in and it works fine.
That is, until I went in the App Store and noticed a firmware update for display among all other system updated. I do not think that anything of it in time and just continued to download and install all updates in bulk. Well, after all has been said and done I got the popup saying he could not apply the on-screen since it must route the cable all-in-one to do. Not a problem, I thought, it's not that important to me it is installed. But now after whenever I restart the machine, I get the annoying popup even in my face, no matter what I try to do to remove it. I'm fine with not getting updated, I just want this bitch popup go away!
I am a very advanced user, so I am not against the orders of terminals and/or editing plists performer or that you have to solve this problem. I don't know where to look and I thought this would be my last ditch effort fixing before you say screw it, wipe the system and start over. If no preview of this would be useful. Thank you.
Apple doc:
Thunderbolt Firmware Update 1.2: continues to reappear and Thunderbolt ports and target Display Mode may not work
After the installation of Thunderbolt Firmware Update 1.2:
- The Thunderbolt ports may not work.
- Target display mode may not work.
- The update can keep reappearing as available for download.
This happens when one Thunderbolt self-powered (other than one directly connected Thunderbolt display) device is connected to a Thunderbolt port during the installation of the update. To resolve this problem:
- Shut down your computer.
- Disconnect all devices Thunderbolt.
- Wait for 10 seconds.
- If you use a Mac mini with a Thunderbolt screen, reconnect the Thunderbolt display directly to your computer via the Thunderbolt port. Do not connect other devices Thunderbolt at the moment.
- Restart your computer.
- If sight Firmware 1.2 update is available, download and install and restart your computer when asked. If the update of Thunderbolt is not available, the update has been successfully installed.
- Reconnect all devices Thunderbolt.

Windows 8 update does not complete
I just opened this machine with Win8 and wanted to update 8.1, but was invited to update Windows Update first.
I ran the update, which asked me to restart the laptop. I restarted the first time, I went back to the Windows Update screen that asked another reboot. Now around 20 restarts later, I'm looking at the prompt still asking me to restart.
What is the problem with that? What can I do to fix it please?
Hi Aditya,
I understand that you can not upgrade to 8.1 Windows as you cannot install Windows updates.
As you mentioned that you got the restart option which indicates that updates have been downloaded successfully and then you tried to restart the computer and the option restart Vienna once again.
It indicates that Windows updates is not installing on the computer.
To better understand the issue, please send us the following information:
- What is the brand and model of the computer?
- You get the error message during the installation of Windows updates?
I suggest you follow the steps below and see if there are updates failed:
- Press the Windows key + R
- Type wuapp
- Click view update history
You can also see the article below for the resolution of the issues related to Windows update:

Java update has not completed windows error code 1603
When I try to update Java on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, the Setup program ends with an error message "Java update has not ended. Error code: 1603. Please consult the Help Center Java to correct that information or contact your system administrator. »
Java Help Center is not useful. It indicates that this is a known issue and is being researched. This status is apparently true for over a year with no resolution, it seems as if not enough resources are devoted to research. The subject alluded to the possible incompatibility with Microsoft MS14-049 KB2918614 security update.
I uninstalled KB2918614 and still the same error.
I uninstalled Java 7, rebooted the PC and tried to install Java 8 and got the same error. Then I installed the update of Java 7 79 and it worked, but I can't go beyond Java 7 for an evolutionary support for Java edition.
These all fail:
JRE-8u45-windows - i586.exe
JRE-8u45-windows - x 64 .exe
JRE-8u60-windows - i586.exe
JRE-8u60-windows - x 64 .exe
Favorite using your search engine Internet web searches will bring up many people having the same problem, but no final solution. Variations on uninstall all versions of Java and re - install, change the language to English settings, remove KB2918614, use the Offline Installer, use the installer of auto update online, hack the registry, etc., but it's as if all of this is purely by accident lucky work around solutions and there is no real real an official answer as to what is happening. I tried them all and I still can't get Java 8 to install. I can't update Java.- What is the solution to the 1603 error?
- If I stick with Java 7 forever?
- And although my OS 64-bit computer, must I install the i586 or x 64 Java, or both?
Screenshots of the error:
On a whim, I disabled McAfee VirusScan 8.8 and Alto! installing Java 8 worked.
There is no message in my logs VSE VSE was the cause. However I saw messages clearly connected "would be blocked by an Access Protection rule (rule is currently not applied)" but in fact, they are apparently put into force and prevent the successful install Java 8. Or at least that's my theory.
What's new on Java 8 and VSE VSE to prevent installation of Java 8?

Portege R700 and Win 7 Update detects not SP1
Hello
I have a Portege R700-1E8 with Win7 Pro.
WinUpdate detects no SP1, but it has detected the other updates and installed their (the SO is enabled). If I install SP1 manually (downloaded as iso from Microsoft Download site file) it seems to be installed without problems.
Yet, I picked up the phone to the original state and tried to detect the windows updates again. There are many upgrades available, but without SP1 AND IE9.
Any ideea?
Thank youCostin
Hello
> If I install SP1 manually (downloaded as iso from Microsoft Download site file) it seems to be installed without problems.
So where is the problem if you were able to install SP1 manually?
I had also some problems to install the patches in the past, that I could not install patches after system reboot and disable a 3rd party firewall, I could install necessary updates who received automatically by Windows 7.However, SP1 can be installed manually and it should be possible to install other patches automatically, so in this case, I wouldn't be worried
