    Hello

If you get this problem, use the HP Support Assistant utility, try the following

Firstly, uninstall your current version of HP Support Assistant by opening windows control panel, open programs and features, make the entry for HP Support Assistant right click and select uninstall.  Once this process is complete, restart the PC.

Then download and install the latest version of HP Support Assistant of the page on the link below - the download links are to the bottom of the page.

  • Boot disk Windows PC7-1235

At some point, it will be my hope that HP will find the problem because this is my 4th computer in 3 weeks.

This a #4 came direct from HP (this time) and the other 3 came Frys. The problem:

Run it and it goes to black screen and said: diskette to boot Windows. Choose an opperating system and press ENTER.

Returned, tonight the turned on and he crossed updating registry 400092 (updates) re started and the Windows startup disk.

Here is the picture: (the white boot disk Windows wrote on top) the next Strip white windows 7 wrtiien on it.

Nope, no disc in the player and this is day 2 with this computer.

This must happen 3 other computers since July 14

This HP one sent, thinking that maybe Frys had got a bad batch

but you can imagine my surprise when he did today.

With the first, I would say about 22 hrs and phone with support.

they had me to do what they thought. then when the other arrived,

I just re packaged and returned.

The good folks at frys done overall upward on the 3rd, I took it to the House, that we worked for a day

then whenever it started, he went to this screen. I called HP and they sent me to another.

So here am I with I guess a problem this same HP cant fix. Could be a bad batch?

  • Can I use a disk Windows 7 Home full version and just use the key to version upgrade license?

Original title: the reconstruction of my PC - Windows 7 issue.

I will be rebuilding my PC which has Windows 7 Home 64 bit installed.  I did the upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 with a family 3-pack.  Can I use a disk Windows 7 Home full version and just use the key to version upgrade license?  Seems a little ridiculous that I have to install another OS and do the upgrade.  I searched the forums and could not easily find an answer to this question.  Help, please.  Thank you!

Also note that as you change not the motherboard Windows should not require re-installation and activation.

  • Error e/s on disk Windows 7 x 64

    Hello

I get the error e/s disk since last week.

I looked and tried all the explanations here: quit and restart Skype, removing the pieces and bobs you said delete in the appdata, and uninstalling/reinstalling files and upgrade to the new version of Skype... Nothing works!

I did not the latest changes to my computer (to my knowledge).

    I'm running Windows 7 x 64

    Help, please.

You also deleted the DbTemp file?

Go to start Windows and in the search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder.

If this will not help then try to uninstall the currently installed version and install the 6.1.0.129 old version using this msi installer:

After installing this version, be sure to turn off the automatic updates:

  • Pavilion dv6t-2000: Post recover process reimage disk - windows update error code a 8024, 000

    Hello

After replacing my old HDD with a new SSD, I successfully used my purchased 1 & 2 recovery discs to reload Windows 7 x 64.  Now, I am able to connect to the internet and navigate through Internet Explorer, but I can't get Windows Update to work.  I get this error: Windows Update 8024A 000 error Code.

I researched and found this fix:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows8_1-update/Windows-Update-error-code-8024a00...

However, after you follow the steps to stop services, rename the specified files, register the dll, and then finally to leave the services, I'm still having the problem.  I also ran a utility "fix" looking for issues with the Windows Update utility, it has been correctly executed and said it solved the problem, but the problem persists.  I get more a 8024, 000 of the error, but the update still does not work.

I don't him have not yet tried this, because of the weather, but will plan no later than today:

In safe mode, access c:\windows\ and rename C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution to SoftwareDistribution.old.
    OK and restart.

I also tried to upgrade to the latest version of the Windows Update utility which has as well.  I can install other applications (e.g., Norton anti-virus, java, adobe flash player) without problem.

I noticed that I have not installed ServicePack 1, I did before as I have reimagee my computer. I need to install this first?

Anyone has any ideas, or did I miss something?

    Your help is appreciated!

    Thanks, Orrin

  • Windows Vista does not accept my password (unchanged) but I have no recovery disk - Windows is already installed

    Hello

As the title says after using my laptop without any previous problems, suddenly I can not connect on Windows Vista.

I'm 100% sure that the password has not been changed, caps lock, shift, caps lock Num etc is not active.

When I bought the laptop, Vista was already installed, so I don't have a recovery disk.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

Microsoft prohibits any help given in these Forums for you help bypass or "crack" passwords lost or forgotten.

    This is the Information from Microsoft on the problems of passwords;

You will need to borrow a Microsoft DVD from a friend, Recovery DVD a manufacturer without these special work options available.

If you are unable to connect to Windows 7 or Windows Vista, you can use the Windows Vista System Restore feature, or the Windows 7 system restore feature.

You may be unable to connect to Windows Vista or Windows 7 in the following scenarios:

    • Scenario 1: You recently set a new password for the protected administrator account. However, you don't remember the password.
    • Scenario 2: You type the correct password. However, Windows Vista or Windows 7 does not accept the password because the system is damaged.
    • Scenario 3: You delete a protected administrator account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.
    • Scenario 4: You change an administrator account protected with a standard user account. Now, you cannot connect to another administrator account.

Malware can also cause problems with passwords:

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

If the above does not fix it:

Here are the different methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.
