8.1 Win update, error 0xC190010 - 0x4000D
I can't update to Windows 8 for windows 8.1. I tried 3 or 4 times and get the same error every time. 0xC190010 - 0x4000D.
I have a motherboard ASUS Crosshair V Formula Z, 16 GB of RAM and processor AMD 8. I use two Radeon HD 7770 which are linked together.
Any ideas on why I can't update to 8.1? I will try to update the video drivers. Any other ideas?
I found myself running Win 8, refreshment that reinstalls windows 8. That did the trick, yes I had to start, but it was that difficult things better. After the update, I installed all the updates, on 170 or almost. Then, I was able to install the Windows 8.1 update.
It was a bit complicated, but I can move, in fact return, where I used to get my 3D software installed again.

Hello
You can download SP2 manually from the Microsoft Web page
Choose the right (32-bit or 64-bit) SP2 to the system that you are using here.
You can save this on USB and can install this memory USB flash on your computer. -
SBS 2003 Win Update error 80072EFE
When you search for new updates on a SBS 2003 server, I get an error 0x80072EFE code. I saw several other posts about this error code, but none of their solutions helped. So far, that's what I tried:
- Search for Rootkits, found nothing.
- Temporarily disabled Antivirus program.
- There is no proxy running on the server or the network.
- Renamed all of the subfolders of Windows\SoftwareDistribution\ (I'm not a big fan of deletion if I have to).
- Renamed Windows\Catroot2\.
- Make sure automatic updates, Intelligent Transfer background and Cryptographic Services are running.
- Make sure the date and time are correct.
I'm really running out of ideas and this particular server is behind on updates. I welcome and appreciate any suggestions you may have. Thanks in advance...

Hello
Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.
Thank you for details on the issue.
Windows may freeze if multiple programs are running at the same time or if Windows is infected by a virus or malware.
I suggest you to execute the resolution of performance issues and check if that helps.
Reference:
Open the troubleshooter of Performance
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-performance-TroubleshooterIt checks issues that could slow down the performance of your computer, such as how many users is currently connected to the computer and if multiple programs are running at the same time.
Please also run Microsoft safety scanner to check and remove any viruses or malware that may cause the problem.
Reference:
Microsoft safety scanner
http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspxNote: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
I hope this information helps.

I am running Win7 32 on a Dell laptop. Last week my hard drive failed, I replaced and restoring a backup. Everything works fine, but I started to have a 'not genuine' warning, even if the properties of the computer system is activated. I reinstalled the product key and a message of successful validation. Now, trying to run Win Update, it crashes. I tried to run the system update readiness tool, but received the error 0xc8000247. Read the other threads, I went to install Intel Rapid Storage drivers, but found that I do not run any of the supported controllers. OK, so what I do now? Here is my WGA report. Thanks in advance for any help.

After repeated errors with windows update on xp laptop.
Win Update won't load updates of office 2007. (now there are 14 of them)
Error code is 0x8007006e every time.
Tried to repair office. no problems found.
Tried twice as MS Fixit.
Have you tried diagnostics Office Word and Excel. no problems found.
Have you tried sfc/scannow - no problem not reported.
Tried ms diagnostic tool. Gives the following (see attachment).I also managed to get a file called WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.diagcab from one of the sites of MS, but could not find a way to run it.
Any help is appreciated! t.i.a.Issue has been resolved - apparently by the ms tool of diagnosis above, even if she didn't say he did...
Waited 2 days to see if updates more appeared via windows update; but unless one happened, failed and then disappeared (something to do with the Flash), there had been no more...
More MS mysteries! Anyone understands this?(I noticed, when I was looking for solutions to the original problem, Ms staff gave several quite different solutions to the same problem posted in various parts of this Web site.) Obviously, they don't know THE answer - no more than anyone else. A result of having systems overcomplex, I guess.)

The Microsoft/Windows Update errors and updates failed.
I just had to make YET ANOTHER Destructive full restore my win Vista PC, regular and continuous errors and problems caused by who knows what and the fact that the system restore never worked once in 10 years of friggin! My PC tries to run Win' Vista (SP2) and all the new updates that are applied after SP2. I also run Norton Internet Security (fully updated). I would like to re - install Office 2007 again once more, but I'm reluctant to until I get an answer to the following problem, because whenever I have re-installed Office 2007 I get Office update errors as well. I do not yet have enough away with this recovery to even think about re - install "other apps" again. My problem is that a heck of a lot more than several updates that were 'available' over time since I bought this pc (which didn't even have SP1 on it when I bought it new), do not have more than several times. Finally, it seems that these updates failed stop appearing as 'available '. Currently failed updates are: IMPORTANT: KB974468; KB2729449; KB2742595; RECOMMENDED: Windows Live Essentails 2001. OPTIONAL: Bing Office 1.3.1. also failed (the current version is 1.3.3...).
My concern about all these multiple failed updates is that if these updates ARE important, whereas they should, and at the very least, not failed to install the first time which must be installed with success the next time. There are at least 40 + other these updates on my pc (of all types) who failed the first time, but succeeded (according to Windows Update), the second time. After doing a search and try to install these updates above manually from the Microsoft Download Center, I got a response that these updates "are not" or "are blocked by another condition on my computer. What 'State' is probably I wonder? Makes me think anyone or whatever decide an update IS important for a particular system is wrong either (and the update is NOT important at all) and so it does not yet appear in the list of "update available", or it IS important and there is another unknown or error "NO that does NOT exist. preventing the update to be applied. I say no because maybe this unknown error also cites a number of error that is not found by the completely useless online "windows help and support!
If an update is NOT or is no LONGER available, then why hell is he always recommended! ??? In all cases, "Windows Live Essentials 2011" settles, and looking for 'help' by selecting "get help with this error" I am taken to the "windows help and support" line (which doesn't help at all). That's because this 'aid' shows only 26 'results' and NONE of them include error numbers (800706... and two instances of 66A) city. ANY help will be VERY much appreciated (epecially on the part of MVP, who have been a great help in the past) cordially Andy Bob :) :) :) :)
Let's start from the beginning.
Lets first see what happened with your drive.
Start - All Programs - Accessories - right on command prompt and choose run as administrator. Type (or copy and paste by clicking in the command prompt window and choose Paste).change c:\bootex.logWhat is this file exist with something in it?The following commands query the event logs.To start verification by using the name of the source for any version of Windows (because it varies).WMIC /append:"%userprofile%\desktop\DiskEvents.html" PATH Win32_NTLogEvent where (sourcename = "Autocheck" or sourcename = 'Winlogon' or sourcename = "WinInit") get format:HFormTo run chkdsk in Windows.WMIC /append:"%userprofile%\desktop\DiskEvents.html" PATH Win32_NTLogEvent where (sourcename = "Chkdsk") to / format: HFormFor warnings about disk problems detected during normal operations and automatic repairs by Windows at the time where the problems were discovered.WMIC /append:"%userprofile%\desktop\DiskEvents.html" PATH Win32_NTLogEvent where (sourcename = "NTFS" or Sourcename = 'Disc') to / format: HFormThen to view the created file.Start "" "% userprofile%\desktop\DiskEvents.html"Copy and paste it here. Again run the commands again after doing the below.
Then to test the equipment.
Standard hardware troubleshootingFirst to test we can the material. Material defects can appear as many software defects, that's why we need to test the material first...Follow these steps in order. Defects of memory can cause disk corruption, disk failures can cause corruption of the disk. Damaged disc causes corrupted files (which SFC may be able to fix). If you get a stop error and after return. Do not run chkdsk with faulty memory.
Diagnosis of memoryIf you have not run a diagnosis of memory, please do. Click on Start - Control Panel - choose Classic view in the left pane - choose Administrative Tools - then memory diagnostic tool.S.M.A.R.TStart - All Programs - Accessories - right on command prompt and choose run as administrator. Method 6: Reset the contents of the Catroot2 folder
To do this, follow these steps:- Open an administrative command prompt window.
- Type the following commands and press ENTER after each command:
- net stop cryptsvc
- MD %systemroot%\system32\catroot2.old
- xcopy %systemroot%\system32\catroot2.old /s %systemroot%\system32\catroot2
- Delete all the content of the catroot2 folder, but do not delete the catroot2 folder.
- Type the following command and press ENTER:net start cryptsvc
- Close the command prompt window.
It seems that I do not have a catroot2 folder. Any suggestions at this point?
Thank you!

0 x Windows update error 80070003
Problem: Windows Update coming out of the forever loop "check updates...". »
WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.diagcab cannot remedy:
Windows Update error 0 x 80070003(2016-07-10-T-07_05_29A)
Tried: FixIt Solution: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/910336 , which does not set it.
Tried: go back to the first Restore Point (April), that didn't fix it.
Hint: I have two identical computers. We're working very well. The other has this problem.
The only difference is: when I click on the 'Get Windows 10' icon in the status bar...
the good computer: wonder if I want to Win 10.
the Bad computer: suppose I want to Win 10, but can not, due to application.
I can only assume that on the wrong computer I clicked on something by mistake that
Microsoft did think that I want to win 10 installed, I don't!
Fortunately, the installation of Win 10 has been blocked by an "incompatible" application (Acronis).
So, how to get Microsoft to do more assuming I want to install Win 10?
Way the easiest way is to change your update settings to exclude the recommended updates to be installed in the same way as the important updates.
1 small box check uncheck.
Ignore the whole section of updates Option where 10 would be in
