8.1 Windows hangs at random times on Satellite C50D-A-133

Hi all

I had this problem for awhile now.

I bought a new laptop Toshiba C50D-A-133 with 8.1 Windows pre-installed in December.
The problem is that Windows 8.1 hangs at random times.

More frequently, watching a movie in Media Player, listen to music or browsing Web sites.
The only thing I can do during a freeze, is to move the cursor.

But I can't click on anything - it does not.
Time to 'freeze' varies - it may take 30 seconds or even up to 5 minutes.
After that, he usually "unfreezes" and everything works well again or restart the laptop on its own.
There are times, I have 3-4 freezes for an hour and there are times that there is only a single gel in eight hours.

All drivers (graphics, card WiFi, sound card, etc.) are up to date.
I checked the system for malware and viruses - it wasn't all.
I have all the Windows updates.

I don't know, what is the source of this problem?
It's really annoying.

I will be grateful for any advice.

I guess that no one will be able to say exactly what is the source of this gel.

From my point of view, you should first check if this isn't software related issue.
In many cases of system problems could lead to as annoying behavior for laptop and this is why I would recommend you to Reset (to recover) the system back to factory settings.

From my understanding in the case where the gel is related to the problem system, return to factory settings should to fix this

I have another problem, one that I have had since I have this PC. I lose my Internet connection randomly without any reason, this happens especially when I play multiplayer games. The router still works, there is still Internet (in my iPhone, iPad, another PC), but my PC says:

    "Network 2".
    "No. Internet access"

I use the internet cable. The cable is properly connected and I tried to solve the problems, but didn't work.

So can you please ignore the last problem and help me with this one?

    Thank you in advance!

I have not had the opportunity to try, but if you have access to another machine, you should be able
do a repair reinstall of Windows by installing your HARD drive on this computer, unless activation
You can do it on another machine.
Once you move the HARD drive to your machine things should be fine,
and if you reactivate Windows it should pose no problems.
The 'install, upgrade and activate' instance should be people who can check it out.
Or - if you have another HARD drive install Windows to this as a test (assuming the rest of the machine
Awake quite a long time to complete the installation :)). If the machine still locks with a clean base
installation of the material becomes more suspicious.

You will need to answer a few questions over early to help in the process of elimination.
Behind closed doors are not uncommon when focusing on a machine with a game, but randomly at any time the camera can come from many things are so difficult to solve.

Things are running more fluid during boot, boot, that when in Safe Mode?
Clean boot is useful for finding conflicting startup applications and services, but it does not cover

Is that absolutely nothing else than you did at the time of the Windows update?

Some of what I read the PSU Chieftek should be a good diet, but the review below
find a problem with the application of current stable - (turbo Cheiftek 850W series)
«The voltage drop is very high, unacceptable thing for a PSU 850w which is intended for the high-end systems that require a stable power supply.» Also with more than 80% of the charges, the readings of voltage of 12v lines are far from regulation ATX. Despite the fact that the pc continued to work normally, no one would have a power with this voltage drop. I would like to have the equipment to measure the ripple also. »
While Chieftek is apparently made by the mfg even as some brands that are more
known in my part of the world (Oz), an unstable current is often caused by markets good components (coils and capacitors), but even a good quality diet (any PC component) may be faulty from the start, and camera are a common symptom of a failed power.
If the power supply was the problem and the system hangs even when not under duress, you do
have a very real need to fear a crash while performing a repair reinstall. Full backup of data
    would be advised.

  • Windows hangs or freezes randomly

    Original title: System problem

I am using windows 7 ultimate and my computer freezes randomly over and over again after a few seconds, it starts normally

    Hi Praveen,

    1. is the issue limited while accessing any program in particular?

2 have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

This problem may occur following a conflict of third party software, virus system or file system is corrupt.

Refer to the steps in the following Microsoft article and check if that helps.

    Windows hangs or freezes: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2681286

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again, the data files that are infected can be cleaned by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Hope that the information provided is useful.

  • Windows Explorer stops working at random times while browsing files.

Windows Explorer stops working at random times while browsing files. I tried to fix this by doing a start-up in minimal mode, but without any result.
It all started with a similar problem, Explorer windows stops working at first upward and restarts and stops working again and restarts again and keeps it doing. I've tried several things like do a clean boot, by safe mode, but even there it happened the same thing but this time, stop once and restart it once, and then it worked normally. When I started windows normally, it did the same thing, so I tried and inplace upgrade and did not work, so finally I did a cover, but only on the first partition, which is the operating system, now I have this problem, Explorer stops working at random times while browsing the folders, it restarts, but then the same thing happens.
Please help me I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and sorry for my bad English.

    Hello
I tried your methods, but still did not work. In the meantime, I did a full restore to two partitions, and it worked. I guess the problem was I uninstalled a few unwanted games, which came with the pc and the anti-virus of the trial.

  • Slow boots slowly; system freezes at random times; System Idle process running above 90 %s

So I turn on my PC (Dell XPS 2 .8GHz w / Windows XP) and it takes 10-15 minutes before I can access my applications.  Also, at seemingly random times, the system hangs for 5-10 minutes while the HD running in the background.  The system idle process are running in the top 90 %s while the machine is frozen.  What is going on?

  • Request master password at random times

request password to master at first, with just enough delay to be annoying, then seemingly random times asking once again, if you just cancel firefox continues to be merrily along, a feature really annoying

This can also occur if you use the synchronization.

The synchronization used in Firefox 34 version then use password manager to store the name (e-mail) and password to use to connect to the synchronization server.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

    • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
  • Firefox crashes at random times.

For several months now, Firefox has been crashing at random times. I've been ignoring most of the time, but it's happened more often these days, so I finally want to try to understand what is happening. I guess it has to do with the add - it and the extension of the conflict, but if so, I don't know which ones, and I don't know how to read the crash reports. I tried the update of Firefox (as well as my Add-ons and plug-ins) several times, but it did not help. And as far as I know, it doesn't seem to be something specific causing accidents. Sometimes, this will happen when I go to a Youtube link, and sometimes it's going to happen when I'm in the middle of reading plain text. And sometimes, when I don't do anything.

I am currently using Firefox 24.0 on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. I run malware scans regularly with MBAM and SUPERAntiSpyware, which none have done anything malicious in the recent past. Here is my latest 5 crash reports:

  • Firefox hijacked on various websites (for most games facebook and such but others too) at random times.

I'll be on a site and suddenly it will redirect to another site. This can happen at any time, sometimes as soon as a window, sometimes the window can be opened for a period of time before it happened or may not happen at all. It doesn't have any link to this site I am on (the same site can immediately redirect once and not an hour of the next). I can always use the back browser button to return to the original site. About 75% of the time in this case, I find myself on a login page Facebook and when I come back I see the original redirect went to some Facebook game/meetings/or some of these sites, none of which I have never used. I do not have Facebook but I do nothing on it except go to my wall to see photos and messages from my family (5 ' friends'). I've never even posted a comment. The other 20% of the time, he goes to various sites like surveys, supports your vet.org, or those with letters and numbers just randomly.
Regarding the question "It happened" that follows I often 3-5 windows open at a time and it will happen 20 or 30 times less than an hour 4 window.
I tried Internet Explorer and Google Chrome since it started, and this has not affected one of them. I even tried to run each at the same time as Firefox and they are kept, while Firefox pages were diverted.

Hi mha007, I ran Firefox 2 days in mode 'safe' with no redirects, then 2 days normal running with no redirects, so the problem seems to be resolved. I ran RogueKiller so I guess he must have eliminated some maleware was the origin of the problem. Thank you for your help.

  • Satellite L300 PSLBGE Vista 64bits - WLan disconnects at random times

    Hey,.

I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite L300 (PSLBGE series) computer laptop. It has 4 GB of RAM, so I installed Windows Vista Ultimate 64 on that.

Problem is that on the Toshiba site there are only drivers Vista32 and with those that I found online, the wireless adapter works, but it keeps disconnecting at random times. It works fine until it stops randomly, there is no message "Network cable" unplugged

He let go the IP address but I tried to keep a 'ping t' on and it gives "the request exceeded" for a period of time and then it comes back.

    What should I do?
    Thank you

    Hello

First of all, it would be interesting to know what you have exactly the WLan card.

I know you could use some WLan drivers from this Toshiba WLan page:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

In addition, I recommend turning off some options that affect the WLan in energy saving feature.

First turn off in energy-saving WLan card properties. (device-> card Manager WLan-> properties-> energy saving)
Then check the power options of Vista-> wireless adapter settings > power save Mode

Here this Toshiba doc could be useful for finding these settings:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/HTD84026Q0000R01.htm

Finally and above all the Advanced tab in-WLan card-> properties > Device Manager contains some useful WLan settings that might increase WLan performance

    Welcome them

Laptop freezes at random times while playing Football Manager 2011. The game is not graphics intensive and worked for about a month with no problems, just recently it started to freeze, and the only thing I can do is to turn off my laptop by the power button.

    I have a

    -Intel® Core i3 - 380 M processor

My graphics driver is up to date, said my last is 28/07/2010.

I am at a loss to explain what is happening.

Help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey Buddy,

    > The game is not graphics intensive and worked for about a month without any problems, has recently started to freeze
This could mean that the laptop is overheating
The reason for overheating is the dust that blocks the fan for laptop gets hotter

I recommend to clean using a jet of compressed air to blow the dust from the cooling fans. You can do it without disassembling the computer so it is very easy and takes only 5 minutes.
Just remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter before doing this.

For example I clean my laptop every 4 months because a lot of dust is coming so it s worth it.

  • Satellite L300 PSLBGE network connection drops randomly times

    Hey,.

I had this problem with my laptop because I bought 1.5 years ago.
Now I launch Windows 7 x 64 with the latest bios (version 2.20 - WIN; day 25/02/10), chipset and wireless (the card is a: Realtek Wireless LAN Adapter 8187 B; driver version: 62.1182.0331.2010) drivers.

The problem is that my network connection drop at random times.
This produces both with my wireless lan card and it comes up with a variety of routers (at work and at home I use a linksys wrt54gl, but I tried it on all the other routers with the same result).

I don't think it's a hardware failure, since the network seems to work very well under Linux (I tried Ubuntu 10). Also some time I took it for warranty service and they said that the material is fine, but I should "not use many programs at the same time and use Windowx XP.

I understand the different devices (card WiFi, network card, webcam, etc.) inside the laptop are connected to some kind of usb hub. My guess is that it is something wrong with this "hub", given that the webcam works as defective.

    Thank you

    > From what I understand the different devices (card WiFi, network card, webcam, etc.) inside the laptop are connected to some kind of usb hub. My guess is that it is something wrong with this "hub", given that the webcam works as defective.

No, the card WLan and LAN card are not connected to the USB just the webcam interfaces so it cannot be any USB issue.

I think it might be a problem of Windows since Linux is OK

I think you should check the power management settings in Windows 7 and card Wlan /LAN. This can be done in the Manager of devices-> WLan / LAN card-> Advanced tab properties.

I also recommend upgrading from win 7 to the last installation of State all updates and patches

  • New HP G72 turns off at random times about once a day

My new G72 at random times on average about 1 time per day (on a few days twice on others not at all) will turn off just the middle of me to use it. I have to wait for it to turn off completely. Then when I press the power button it will give me the departure of NDS "Recovery windows" message upward again normally (programs I had place works after I click on my user profile) and operate normally until the next day or two later when she repeats the cycle. Any ideas? Suggestions?

I discovered that my laptop can avoid the exit ramp once per day if I raise it slightly out of the office so that it is led may well get rid of heat. In the week since I put my laptop on a small pedestal (and old calcualtor) and raised the bottom a little more than one inch on the desktop I did have one stop. Try THIS if you encounter a similar problem out there in TV land. Has been a suggestion of a friend who I thank profusely. I would put this issue as resolved down.
