Windows hangs / freezes randomly (RESOLVED)

Hello!
My computer hangs / freezes randomly every day. This started happening after a Windows Update. Please don't tell me to mess with my computer because I am 100% sure that it is not the computer, it's Windows. Please help me, I can't take it anymore!

IMPORTANT EDIT: (the above problem is SOLVED) ignore this problem above and help me with this other problem, you can:
I have another problem, one that I have had since I have this PC. I lose my Internet connection randomly without any reason, this happens especially when I play multiplayer games. The router still works, there is still Internet (in my iPhone, iPad, another PC), but my PC says:

"Network 2".
"No. Internet access"

I use the internet cable. The cable is properly connected and I tried to solve the problems, but didn't work.

So can you please ignore the last problem and help me with this one?

Thank you in advance!

Kevin

I have not had the opportunity to try, but if you have access to another machine, you should be able
do a repair reinstall of Windows by installing your HARD drive on this computer, unless activation
You can do it on another machine.
Once you move the HARD drive to your machine things should be fine,
and if you reactivate Windows it should pose no problems.
The 'install, upgrade and activate' instance should be people who can check it out.
Or - if you have another HARD drive install Windows to this as a test (assuming the rest of the machine
Awake quite a long time to complete the installation :)). If the machine still locks with a clean base
installation of the material becomes more suspicious.

You will need to answer a few questions over early to help in the process of elimination.
Behind closed doors are not uncommon when focusing on a machine with a game, but randomly at any time the camera can come from many things are so difficult to solve.
-You mentioned beeps. Describe the beeps. Long, short or a combination of both?
They only happen once?
The manual of your motherboard has a description of the beep codes? Different BIOS
Use different codes, but the codes can be found on the web as well.
-Have you run on the cpu, the gpu and the motherboard temperature monitors?
-Have you tested the hard drive?
-Settings of the BIOS to default? Not overclock the cpu or gpu?

What were the results of the MS fixit is in the links above, and what did the
FixIt actually do to try to resolve the failures? They were rolling Windows back to front
you have installed the Windows Update in question?

Things are running more fluid during boot, boot, that when in Safe Mode?
Clean boot is useful for finding conflicting startup applications and services, but it does not cover
programs, you can run after loading Windows.  He could also miss a few things like
the pilot of Daemon Tools, which is known to cause problems, if you have Daemon tools or
a similar software installed.
Is that absolutely nothing else than you did at the time of the Windows update?

Some of what I read the PSU Chieftek should be a good diet, but the review below
find a problem with the application of current stable - (turbo Cheiftek 850W series)
«The voltage drop is very high, unacceptable thing for a PSU 850w which is intended for the high-end systems that require a stable power supply.» Also with more than 80% of the charges, the readings of voltage of 12v lines are far from regulation ATX. Despite the fact that the pc continued to work normally, no one would have a power with this voltage drop. I would like to have the equipment to measure the ripple also. »
While Chieftek is apparently made by the mfg even as some brands that are more
known in my part of the world (Oz), an unstable current is often caused by markets good components (coils and capacitors), but even a good quality diet (any PC component) may be faulty from the start, and camera are a common symptom of a failed power.
If the power supply was the problem and the system hangs even when not under duress, you do
have a very real need to fear a crash while performing a repair reinstall. Full backup of data
would be advised.

    Hi all

I had this problem for awhile now.

I bought a new laptop Toshiba C50D-A-133 with 8.1 Windows pre-installed in December.
The problem is that Windows 8.1 hangs at random times.

More frequently, watching a movie in Media Player, listen to music or browsing Web sites.
The only thing I can do during a freeze, is to move the cursor.

But I can't click on anything - it does not.
Time to 'freeze' varies - it may take 30 seconds or even up to 5 minutes.
After that, he usually "unfreezes" and everything works well again or restart the laptop on its own.
There are times, I have 3-4 freezes for an hour and there are times that there is only a single gel in eight hours.

All drivers (graphics, card WiFi, sound card, etc.) are up to date.
I checked the system for malware and viruses - it wasn't all.
I have all the Windows updates.

I don't know, what is the source of this problem?
    It's really annoying.

I will be grateful for any advice.

I guess that no one will be able to say exactly what is the source of this gel.

From my point of view, you should first check if this isn't software related issue.
In many cases of system problems could lead to as annoying behavior for laptop and this is why I would recommend you to Reset (to recover) the system back to factory settings.

From my understanding in the case where the gel is related to the problem system, return to factory settings should to fix this

I can restart only by pressing the power button. It also does not save user names and passwords even if I permanently authorizes to invite when appears. I use MS Security Essentials as my antivirus, that's all.

  • Windows 7 freezing randomly

    Hello MS community.

I encounter frequently my computer W7 gel over anything.

I've read several several Web sites, their solutions, but some of them that I'm not sure and other I don't think that would work. I run Defraggler and defragged my PC and ran virus scans with MalwareBytes, Avast and N360 Power Eraser, so you can take slow computers and malware on the problem. Safe mode freezes ever so I guess it's something when I boot to normal mode. It doesn't freeze, as soon as I connect, it freezes usually about 20-30 minutes.

    Can I get help?

    Hello

See if this helps you improve performance.

You can clean your hard drive using these two methods.

    "Delete files using Disk Cleanup"

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/delete-files-using-disk-cleanup#delete-files-using-disk-cleanup=Windows-7

    Using the free CCleaner program:

    http://www.Piriform.com/CCleaner

In NO case use the registry cleaning Option in CCleaner

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

And it is not recommended to use a register or a program of cleaning/TuneUP/utilities they can do more harm to your any good operating system that they claim to be able to do.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Make sure you have the latest updated drivers:

Access the site on your computer or equipment manufacturing > Driver and Software Support Section > search your computer or hardware model number > then your operating system > locate the correct drivers > download and install.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

What are the other steps, which does not include some of the above:

    "Optimize Windows for better performance.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/optimize-Windows-better-performance#optimize-Windows-better-performance=Windows-7

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

It would be a good idea also run the System File Checker tool to check that everything is correct in the system files.

"How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the files on system missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7"

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally made programs, Accessories, right-click guest, and then click run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click allow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.

    See you soon.

The DAQ.vi with the fact that I have a problem is attached here.

What is happening is that from time to time (may take 10 minutes or can last 10 hours) the program suddenly crashes / gel, and to resolve I have to unplug and connect the USB cable to the FT232R. When I did, the program starts working again, but I lost all the data of the gel time.

Anyone know this problem using FTDI chips, or has an idea of what could be the problem? And there at - it an easy way to know if the bug is hardware or software?

    I have appreaciate help!

NB: I know the attached .vi isn't waiting time between writing and reading, but I had the same problem when you use so the waiting time.

    Hello

You have not included the SubVIs in your program.  Therefore, it is difficult to guess what could be the problem.

As he is a serial device, I suggest you look into the viewfinder of the example to the example of the series in read/write.  You will absolutely need a delay any between send a command to your device and receive a response.

Method of determining that your data is "ready" is to use the byte to Port property node.  http://zone.NI.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361H-01/lvinstio/visa_bytes_at_serial_port/

    Hi Praveen,

    1. is the issue limited while accessing any program in particular?

2 have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

This problem may occur following a conflict of third party software, virus system or file system is corrupt.

Refer to the steps in the following Microsoft article and check if that helps.

  • Hanging of freezing, random R61

I bought December ' 07 7742-CTO. It has Nvidia Quadro NVS 140 m, preloaded with XP Pro. Now that it is out of warranty, it has started to freeze randomly. No matter if the R61 is connected to the battery, in slow time or opportunity of the day, etc. It's typical scenario: I look at the time of Windows in the system tray and see that this is incorrect (stuck at the time of the accident), the mouse is mobile but the next click will be freeze/hang up the system. Only solution is to hard reboot. The frequency of gel is passed once / week several times / day.

Then, let me say that I have a lot of technical experience with a PC. The BIOS and drivers are all the latest news from Lenovo. All the Microsoft critical updates are applied. I scanned for viruses and malware so that scrubbed the registry. In addition, here are a few other tactics I've tried:

    (1) fully tested RAM

    (2) I tried different RAM

    (3) traded adapters CA / CC and tried inserted battery and battery removed

    (4) different hard drives

    (5) AHCI, change in compatibility mode

    (6) removed, inspected, and cleaned Fan-Heatsink

    (7) again a thermal conductive grease on CPU and GPU

    (8) PC Doctor Diagnostics on the system powered up to nothing

    (9) the Nvidia and NVSC Service startup items disabled

I even tried to start diagnosis by using MSConfig and minimum startup items and it freezes again. I suspect that the NVidia NVS 140 m GPU is bad. Someone out there with similar problems?

No one answered, but the problem is solved. The R61 has thermal problems. I installed ThinkPad Fan Control, which is a part of 3rd freeware utility and to keep the Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU in reasonable time. Freeze either. Don't know why Lenovo stock in place was not able to avoid overheating, but the laptop is solid as a rock now.

Original title: windows 7 freezes, but still run.

    Please excuse my bad English

    Hello.

I have a very complex problem that is hard to explain and that seems to be very rare:

It's the fourth day in a row that my windows laptop crashes randomly for a few seconds. When the problem starts, first my taskbar freezes so I can't click on anything. Then the entire screen seems to freeze with her, but the applications are still running. When it's cold, my mouse works, but I can't click on anything. When I try to open the by typing CTRL + ALT + DELETE Task Manager, the options are frozen. Then, when I go to my desktop and click on a random point on the screen, left click becomes a right click.

Another thing of fanny, is that my Touchpad mouse does not seem to understand my hand movements. I can move only the mouse itself, but any clicks with her. It is also included the two bottom below him, with does not work as well.

I tried to reboot the system ranging from a week in time, but the problem continues. I then tried to make the C drive error checking, but no change.

I know that I do not have a virus, because I scanned my computer several times after that the problem began.

It said at the same time.

    Help, please.

    Thank you.

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply.

You are facing this problem could be that corrupt because the mouse driver. I suggest you uninstall nd reinstall the mouse driver, that might solve the problem.

Check by uninstalling and reinstalling the mouse driver.

    (a) right click on the icon my computer

    (b) select Manage from the menu.

    (c) Select Device Manager in system tools that are listed in the resulting display.

    (d) locate and expand mice and other pointing devices.

    (e) right click on the mouse.

    (f) click on uninstall

    (g) restart the computer.

You can also run the following:

Download the latest driver from the manufacturer's website, install on your computer and check the status of the issue.

    -------------------------------------------------

Here's what I use and recommend: (these are all free and very effective versions.)

Avast and Prevx proved extremely reliable and compatible with all I have
launched on them. Microsoft Security Essentials and Prevx have also proven to be very
reliable and compatible. Use MSE or Avast and Prevx, Prevx 3 but not all.

Avast Home free - stop any shields is not necessary except leave the file system, Web,.
Operational network (Script and behavior are also recommended in Ver 6 +).

    Prevx - Home - free

    Windows Firewall

Windows Defender (is not necessary if you use MSE)

    Protected IE - mode

IE 8 - SmartScreen filter WE (IE 7 phishing filter)

I also IE always start with asset if filter InPrivate IE 8.
(It may temporarily turn off with the little icon to the left of the + bottom
    right of IE)

Two versions of Avast are available 6.x and 4.8 x

Avast - home - free - 6.x stop shields you do not use (except files, Web, network, &)
Shields of behavior) - double click on the icon in the Notification area - real time Orange - click on the
Shield that you want to stop - STOP. To stop the Orange icon to show an error indicator-
Click on the Orange icon - top right - settings - click on the status bar - uncheck shields you
    disabled - click OK
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

Avast 4.8 x - home - free - stop shields, you don't need except leaving Standard, Web,.
and the network running. (Double-click the blue icon - look OK. - upper left - Shields details
    Finish those you don't use).
    http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download#TAB4

Or use Microsoft Security Essentials - free
    http://www.Microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

Prevx works well alongside MSE or Avast

Prevx - Home - free - small, fast, exceptional CLOUD protection, working with the other security
programs. It is a single scanner, VERY EFFICIENT, if it finds something come back here or
Use Google to see how to remove.
    http://www.prevx.com/   <-->
    http://info.prevx.com/downloadcsi.asp?prevx=Y   <-->

    PCmag - Prevx - Editor's choice
    http://www.PCMag.com/Article2/0, 2817,2346862,00.asp

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever think malware and that
would be unusual with Avast and occasional Prevx running with the exception of a low level cookie
(not much), to UPDATE and then run it as a scanner. I have a lot of scanners and they
never find anything of note that I started to use this configuration.

    Original title: windows 7 freeze

I have a high HPp6203 desktop screen freezes at random no program special time frame or action. Unable to move anything or courier. Just before that happens blue circle appears next to Messenger then it freezes. No new software has been installed. Start button / Stop button to clear. Works fine in safe mode. He had already done once before and I restored it at the earlier time and it changed but now it won't let me restore uniquement3 days before and always an error if the restoration is never completed.  Thank you Gary

    Hi G Conrad, j.

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft Community.

I would appreciate it if you could provide the error message to better support on the issue. In addition, I would like you to answer the following questions to refine the question.

    • You did it any significant hardware or change software on the computer before this problem?
    • You are able to use the system anyway after the system hangs at startup?

There are a few reasons your computer might hang, freeze, or crash. So I would say, you can remove the external devices except the mouse and keyboard, try the following steps and check if the problem persists.

    Method 1:

Step 1: Try to start your system in a State of services necessary to the operation and a minimum set of drivers enabled, called Safe Mode.
Start your computer in safe mode

Step 2: If the system works fine in safe mode, try to clean the system startup:

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: See "how to reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting" to prepare the computer to start as usual after a repair.

If method 1 does not work, see the steps in the following link and check if they are useful.
