8 Internet Explorer cannot be installed on windows update

I noticed that Internet Explorer 8 could not install when I looked at the history of the update. Would be - this is why I get when im even not visiting all web pages, internet script errors?
And also since it does not install properly or not at all, how can I install internet explorer 8 for windows vista? Is there a way to always install it on windows update?

my firewall and anti-virus applications are all part of the Fairpoint security suite.

Well, I must tell you that FairPoint Security Suite of Radialpoint is among the worst & most annoying there internet security suites. What security application internet suite or the antivirus has been installed before you installed FairPoint Security Suite earlier this year?

My personal recommendations include:

-Online install IE8 manually, not through Windows Update/automatic updates! -Online http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/worldwide-sites.aspx

-Online save the installer to your desktop, do not run it.  When you are ready to install IE8, right click on the saved file and select 'run as administrator '.

-Online uninstall all third-party toolbars (e.g., Google;) Yahoo; Windows Live) and a third of the Windows themes before installing IE8.

-Online close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon of the taskbar) before installing or uninstalling IE8.

=> I highly recommend disable your antivirus and anti-spyware "protection system" application (with the exception of the Defender) before you install (or uninstall) an update of IE.  If you use a third party firewall [and you are], I recommend neutralizing him and then activation of the front Windows Firewall install (or uninstall) an update of IE.

-Online restart twice after installing or uninstalling IE8, then check-in to Windows Update and install the critical updates of security offered.

=> For the best chance of success with IE8, make sure that your version of the Kaspersky Anti-virus application, all anti-spyware applications (other than the Defender) and your third-party firewall (if any) are supported in IE8 before decide you to install it.

  • Gives Windows Update: Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage

MS Windows XP Home Edition version 2002 SP 3 Norton Internet Security 2010

Start button...  Windows Update... immediately pops up a window of Internet Explorer 8, saying "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage."  with a diagnose connection problems button leading to say there is nothing wrong with the connection.  No error code is displayed.

Tried several times over several days.  Not good.  Tried to type the URL in the address field.  Same result.  Tried to access various Microsoft Windows Update web pages from within the Microsoft site.  Same result.  It almost seems as if "windows" & "update" is in the address, it does not connect.  I tried Windows malicious software removal tool.  No solution.  Tried all the Norton Scans.  No solution.  Completely removed Norton.  The same problem.

Windows Update worked until we made an update of Windows in 5/10, date at which we replaced Internet Explorer 6 with IE 8.  Since we cannot get Windows Update.

He could have something in the updates of Windows that blocks access to the updates?  He could have something in IE 8, which blocks access to updates?

Please don't give me the answer 'wipe the hard drive & reinstall Windows '.  It's a typical 'COMPUTING solution' which means 'I don't know what the problem, then that & everything will be fine.'  But in doing so, it will result in DAYS of relocation & configuration of all programs on my PC!  If you don't know the problem, tell (or do not).  If you KNOW what is really causing the problem and have a solution, I would be VERY grateful to hear from you.  Thank you.

I had this problem in my store with several client computers.

Scenario - IE browse websites ok. But when you try to manually run the updates of Windows, internet explore announcement that that the page cannot be displayed. The same also happens with Microsoft Updates.

I read a lot of discussion online, and many people do not yet have a solution.

Here's what I found... and every machine I have dealt with regard to this problem, in the last 4 months, have all had a rootkit virus infecting NETBT. SYS file in windows. Analysis tools more do not seem to pick up well. AVG, Malwarebytes, Norton... I know that these three would not pick it up.

Launch the latest Combofix it cleans well. If there is. And so far, I have managed to solve a good 6 computers by replacing the NETBT. SYS file.

So, if all else fails... check that. ;-)

  • When my friend l. a automatic updates for Windows Vista, it can no longer browse the web, well connected (as evidenced by Skype and diagnostics) the message "internet explore cannot display the page" coming up. Is there a way to fix this?

    Explore cannot display the page
    Vista updates
    Restart

    Hello

Welcome to Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

I suggest you follow these steps:

Method 1: See if you can view another Web page

To do this, follow these steps:

    Start Internet Explorer.

In the top of the browser address bar, enter one of the following addresses:

    http://www.Microsoft.com

    http://www.MSN.com

    http://support.Microsoft.com

If you do not receive a similar error message after entering one of these addresses in the address bar, contact the owner of the Web site where you see the problem. The website is maybe temporarily unavailable or other problems.

If you receive the same error message, go to the next method.

Method 2: Run the Network Diagnostics tool in Internet Explorer

To do this, follow these steps:

Start Internet Explorer, and then try to access the Web page that displays the error message.

On the page that displays an Internet Explorer error message, click diagnose connection problems . The Network Diagnostics tool will run. When the tool has finished, it will notify if you one of the following results:

He was unable to find a problem.

It has detected a problem. In addition, the tool will provide guidance on the next steps to take to resolve the problem.

Note Users of Internet Explorer 6, click on detect network settings

Click IP address , and note the IP address. You may have to it for future troubleshooting.

Follow the steps in the Network Diagnostics tool to fix any connection problems.

    Start Internet Explorer.

If you receive the same error message, go to the next method.

Method 3: Use the delete browsing history

If resetting the modem or the router has not resolved the problem, delete your browsing history might help. Follow these steps to delete your temporary Internet files, history and form data:

    Internet Explore 7

    Start Internet Explorer.

On the Tools menu, click delete browsing history .

Select the check box next to Temporary Internet files .

Select the check box next to the history .

Select the check box next to form data .

Select the check box next to Cookies .

At the bottom of the window, click delete .

Close Internet Explorer and restart Internet Explorer, and then try to access the Web page.

    Internet Explorer 6

    Start Internet Explorer.

On the Tools menu, click Internet Options .

In the Temporary Internet files section, click delete files and then click to select the text box delete all offline content , and then click OK .

In the history section, click clear history , and then click Yes .

Close Internet Explorer and restart Internet Explorer, and then try to access the Web page.

If you receive the same error message, go to the next method.

Method 4: Use the Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) mode

To do this, click Start , point to programs , point to Accessories , point to System Tools and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) .

Note The Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) mode is only available for Internet Explorer 7 and Internet Explorer 8.

If this resolves the problem, follow these steps to isolate the browser add-on that is causing the problem:

Click Tools and then click Internet Options .

Click on the programs tab, and then click Manage Add-ons .

Click an add-on in the name list, and then click disable .

Repeat step 3 until you identify the add-on that is causing the problem.

If the methods in the "Resolution" section General did not resolve your issue, you can try to use the methods in the "Advanced Troubleshooting" section If you are not comfortable with advanced troubleshooting, you can ask for help or contact support. That's the problem with your connection Internet Service Provider (ISP) or your connection to the server. Try restarting your PC and turn off your router or wireless for 10 minutes and try again. Long download, you will need to download and install a download manager in IE8.

Note: IE9 and IE10 already build with Download Manager, but you must have at least Windows 7 install IE9.

What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you have
EVER had on this machine, including those you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which)
    may cause strange problems).

If no joy there's something blocking perhaps.

Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools - IE with no Addons - what works best?

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - tab click on restore, and then click Reset - apply / OK

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Security tab - click on reset all default areas - apply / OK

Close and restart IE or IE with no addons

    not better?

IE - tools - manage Addons (for sure disable SSV2 if she's here, it is no longer necessary but Java
installs and it causes more questions - have you never update Java to go back in and turn it off again.) Search
    other possible problems.

Windows Defender - tools - software explore - look for problems with programs that do not look
right. Allowed are usually OK and "unauthorized" are not always bad. If doubt about a program
    ask about it here.

Could not be a free - SpyBHOremover - BHO - standalone program, needs no installation, download.
unzip and run - all are not bad, but some can cause your question (toolbars are BHO).
