800b0100 error code - is not able to resolve

I tried to find some fixed to this another response from the forum, but I'm not all that techies and having trouble get mine fixed.

Try to install the updates KB2079403, KB2281679, and KB2387149 but get the error 800b0100.

I started by trying to download the system preparation tool as suggested. When I install what seems to install is a fix for KB947821 so I don't know if the scan is still running or not.

I went to Windows-newspapers-CBS and all I get is the following:

=================================
Preparation of control system was updated.

So I don't know if it works properly or not or if I'm doing something wrong.

After that, I went to the page updated and looked for news updates and tried to install again without success. I use Norton Security Suite and tried to turn off the AV and firewall, but that did not help.

I use Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.  1 - month, machine with Windows preinstalled. The McAfee trial that was included has been erased.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I had posted instructions on the implementation of the removal tool, they would have included the following steps. Get them now:

1 reset the IE8 advanced settings by http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Reset-Internet-Explorer-settings

2. open IE8 32 bit (only!) at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 & run it in DEFAULT and modes difficulty then AGGRESSIVE. [1]

3. restart & test.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
[1] full Disclosure: the difficulty operating in AGGRESSIVE mode will remove your update history but not the list of installed updates.
    Hello
    • What version of Windows are you using?
    I recommend you perform the clean boot.
    Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.
    See the following article in the Microsoft KB for more information on how to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    Try at least the basics:
    1. first of all, check the intregity of your player. If it is not quite right, you will not be able to start. If fix you (by running chkdsk), maybe it's ALL that is necessary. At the command prompt, run this command:
    Chkdsk /r
    (There is a space before the slash). I know that that page has a slightly different order, but the /r switch (to repair bad sectors and recover readable data) is all that is necessary. For more information, see:
    http://vlaurie.com/Computers2/articles/Chkdsk.htm
    Plan for several hours to run chkdsk/r. But this could very well be all that is necessary.
    2. If still no joy, you'll need to fix your boot.ini file. Until you do this, you will have to remove some attributes of this file, so you can change (the flags 'Hidden' and 'System' and 'Read only'). So, at the command prompt, enter these commands:
    C:ATTRIB H C:\\BOOT. INI
    C:ATTRIB R C:\\BOOT. INI
    C:ATTRIB S C:\\BOOT. INI
    Then, delete the boot.ini file. It is fine to do, especially if there is something wrong with her! You create a new.
    DEL BOOT. INI
    Now, rebuild your boot.ini file:
    BOOTCFG /REBUILD
    (even when there is a space before the slash)
    Continue to follow the instructions on this page:
    http://tech.Icrontic.com/articles/repair_windows_xp/
    Add installation to boot list? Enter y
    To enter load identifier, type:
    Windows XP Home Edition (I think that's what you have. For XP Pro, type "Windows XP Professional")
    To the operating system load options, type:
    / / fastdetect / noexecute = optin
    (even once, there is a space before each slash)
    Note that in case your CPU has NO other buffer overflow protection, you must not enter the "' / noexecute = optin" switch. " But it's a safe assumption you have and you should use it. Google or ask here if you don't know what CPU you have.
    For pour ecrire to write the newly created boot sector on the hard disk, type the following at the prompt:
    FIXBOOT
    (And press on Y to confirm).
    I mean chkdsk /r first because that's all that would be necessary. But you also have other instructions. If still no joy, restoring the so-called manual system might work:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/307545
    If still no joy, I'd go for the Clean install (of course, you can also try a repair installation before that gap very last effort, but repair installs can sometimes be very difficult).
    Have you confirmed that all your data is backed up. If you perform a clean installation, you erase your hard drive, you know!
    (Windows Vista Home Premium) 800b0100 error code when you try to install the two (KB978338) and (KB968389)
    I tried all the recommended solutions that Windows can throw at me, and yet I still can't download these updates for some reason any. Whenever I run the program "Microsoft Fixit" he says it's a mistake and fixing it with success, but I still get the same error when you try to install the updates. I have checked for malware, scanning my computer everything and see nothing.
    Hello
    1. what troubleshooting steps are carried out to solve the problem?
    2 were there any hardware or software changes made on the computer before this problem?
    Method 1:
    I suggest you to return the item and check if it helps:
    Problems with installing updates
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-problems-with-installing-updates
    Method 2:
    Check out the link and check if it works:
    Windows Update error 800b0100
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/Windows-Update-error-800B0100
    Method 3:
    I suggest to put the computer in a clean boot state and then try to open the program and check if it helps.
    Note When you perform a clean boot, you may temporarily lose some functionality. When you start the computer as usual, the function returns. However, you may receive the error message, or you can experience the original behavior.
    How to solve the problem by running the clean boot in Windows Vista:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
    Note: Once you have completed troubleshooting, perform the steps in the step 7: to reset the computer as usual.
I tried to burn a very simple project: a chapter two Blu - Ray with two episodes of 55 minutes of a TV on this topic show.  Recently I used the exact same computer to do exactly the same work successfully, so I don't know what the problem is.
    There are no menus in the project: it's just a rudimentary auto play disc with stereo sound.  Layer the watch 24.37 GB used on a single BD disc.
    The files are consistent and that construction starts, the following error appears:
  • 800b0100 error code when you try to install Windows updates KB974145 and KB978251
    Greetings and salutations:
    Any help would be appreciated.
    I tried to install these 'important' updates several times with the same result - updates failed, error 800b0100 code. I downloaded and installed the KB974821 tool - tells me it installed - same problem. (I don't know if I'm supposed to do something else with KB974821 - I have to "run" or just "installed" it enough?) Instructions could certainly be clearer)
    I tried to download and install the updates manually - without success - I get various error messages, like "does not apply to your system" or "for a different hardware platform.
    I tried this with my firewall/antivirus close as well - using Trend Micro - and still no luck.
    Thoughts, comments, suggestions, help? Very much appreciated. Thank you.
    BTW, I'm running VHP 64 with Service Pack 2 installed. Nothing should be this complicated or frustrating.
    Additional information:
    In another forum, where I posted this inquiry (I was told is the right place to post it here) I was advised on how to get the results of the KB947821 tool that I ran.  (Why this information was not given instructions on how to use the tool is beyond me).     Otherwise...
    1. see if you can download/run the MSRT tool manually: http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx
    NB: Run the FULL scan, not analysis FAST!  You may need to download the MSRT on an uninfected machine and then transfer the MRT. EXE to the infected machine and rename it to SCAN. EXE before running it.
    2A. WinXP-online Windows Live Safety Center scanner 'Protection' (only!) in Mode safe mode with networking, if necessary:http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/howsafe.htm
    2B. Vista or Win7-online this scanner instead: http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/center/whatsnew.htm
    3. now run a thorough check for hijackware, including registration required before a proper Court, logs don't here. DON'T SKIP THIS STEP!
    I can recommend the assistance of experts available in these forums: http://spywarehammer.com/simplemachinesforum/index.php?board=10.0, http://www.spywarewarrior.com/viewforum.php?f=5, http://www.dslreports.com/forum/cleanup, http://www.bluetack.co.uk/forums/index.phpand http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30
    If these procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, good reputation and stand-alone computer (that is, not BigBoxStoreUSA or Geek Squad) repair facility.
    Good luck!
    I was trying to install the option upgrade Microsoft SQL SERVER 2008 Service Pack 2 (KB2285068) when I experienced a power failure.   The installation was not yet complete.  Subsequent attempts to reinstall the Windows Update option always lead the 84 40007 - installation failure error Code.  Any thoughts on the fix?
    How does this relate to the features of Internet Explorer?
