8753xx series read and properly calibrated chart

Greetings from the Greece,

I have a Hp 8753D Network Analyzer that I would like to order via GPIB with labview. In fact, I want to build an interface where the data of the instrument are displayed on my laptop and export them after.  example "series 8753xx read and graph", does exactly what I want, but requires a file name of State as well as a calibration file name. Calibration I am used to doing so far is that manually, so I don't know what type of file to be inserted in the specific field. In addition, I have nothing but the parser, not even the calibration kit. Is there a way to create a path where the code automatically extracted labview saved state and calibration saved in the memory live Analyzer?

Thank you in advance,

For automatic playback of the files, you can code obviously hard paths in your VI. What I have done, is to have paths in an ini file which is read at the beginning.

  • Series of reading and DAQ in same While loop

    Hello world

I have a while loop that has a DAQ reading and a reading series of VISA.

DAQ readings slow while loop for series com & therefore the iterative nature of the measures to constantly check byte-by-byte (for the full range of the code: 22 bytes) does not work. (it will check 8 bytes, 24,.. etc. because more bytes is collected in a buffer before it can browse new loop.)

Is it possible to synchronize these two data acquisition devices?

Data acquisition speed is fast enough, so if there is a way to keep the series bytes in a queue and take only the first 22 bytes for every while loop iteration?

Thank you for your help. I can't join VI, but I can give you a reference image.

I recommend having separate loops of data acquisition and reading series.  If you simply connect the latest value, the local variable is great for sending to playback in series to the other loop for logging.

  • Can't write series base and Read.vi to run

    Hello

It is a strange problem because I used this .vi including several times before and never had a problem until I have created LabVIEW on my new laptop computer. I installed everything like I should without a problem, but for some reason when I try to run, I get the message:

"Error-1073807343 is produced in property node (arg 1) visa set up a Serial Port (Instr) .vi-> basic series write and Read.vi.

    Possible reasons:

VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF0011) insufficient location information or the device or resource is not present in the system. "

I tried to find the error in the forums, but never, it corresponds to what I do and I can't find a solution. It is a problem serious because I'm on a timeline by hand in a project. Please notify.

    Thank you

    Yusif

Stupid question - is the correct port selected for your new laptop? It's maybe something like com5 instead of com1. Do you see the port in Windows Device Manager?

  • Read and write of series Basic can't read a second time

Hi, I'm developing my own VI to write and read an iRobot Create.  I based my vi off the coast of the basic series example write and Read.vi I found (on LabView 8.0).  When I run my vi I am able to read information from the beginning to create, but I am unable to read a second time (after a write command).  The second reading should be the same as the first (I checked with the help of another program that is linked to the creation).  I am new to using LabVIEW and I was wondering if there is a common mistake made by trying to implement a series of read and write.

    Thank you.

First of all, to debug your orders with a program such as Hyperterminal. If it works there, then it should work in LabVIEW. You may need to send a carriage return and newline (\r\n). Your code is not currently set up to do.

Only do something when a button is basic programming LabVIEW. You can use a simple while loop with a façade that Boolean connected to an instruction box. If you have anything other than the basic version of LabVIEW, you should use the structure of the event. Look at the examples that come with LabVIEW.

  • Visa read write on port series independently and at the same time!

    Hi all!

I need to read and write data to and from a serial port (rs232) independently and simultaneously .

I'm sorry that I can not put a picture of that, but it's very simple:

I used "set up the serial port" and forwarded to two while loops, the resource reference.

a loop is reading data and the other loop is writing data to the port.

the problem is when the playback loop (function serial reading) waiting for data - it blocks the other loop to run (writing of the serial function is blocked).

I searched the forum and find this visa open function has 'duplicate session' option - that's what I need?

If true, can someone explain exactly how to wire and use it in the right direction?

    Thank you very much.

    Guy.

OK, I found an example that solved my problem: a VI called   serialduplicatesessions.

    The file is associated.

  • Series read, store queue and time-evenly continues treatment, but the data is mixed now

    Hello, all,.

I send MCU APR data to the PC via a serial interface, 16bytes each time interval of 50 ms, if I donot use queue, the data read visa are the same as sent. But reading and in turn within a while loop is not time efficiently as the multiple loops with queue processing.

I have a byte (0 x 55) as the first byte of the data transmission, with multiple with queue loops, but now the 0 x 55 position is changed all the time, and most probably present at the 8th byte data.

    Thanks for any help.

    Ted,

What do you mean by 'unstable '? And I saw that in your simple loop VI, you are always empty the buffer after each reading, what you don't do in the loop number VI. Maybe it's the origin of the problem.

However, IF the rinse, the root cause is not VI, but your connection (or the equivalent of your program). Since removes VISA Read already the amount of reading of data from the buffer, the data must be resent / captured again in the buffer...

    hope this helps,

  • Satellite M30X-165: Mat * a UJ - 831 S is not read and write any DVD

    Hello

the next problem is sticky on the laptop Satellite M30X 165 with the burner Mat * a UJ - 831 S: it can read and write CDs, but is not able to write them to DVD or even read some of the ones I've burned and also read in the same drive. Even at the start of the DVD, it does not start from the recovery DVD, the player starts and slows down very quickly.
Without doubt, it must be put at the service of repair or someone has other suggestions?

Could you please tell me how long the repair takes (I know what it takes to install the desktop temporarily used).

    Thank you

Using burning software, it detects the DVD, but invite you to an "error of calibration power (037303).

    Hello

If you cannot use recovery media, I guess that the drive is defective and must be replaced.

  • Vista on Qosmio F20: SD card reader and Media Player keys do not work

I recently updated my Qosmio F20 for Vista.
I got most of the job functions, but my SD card reader and fixed keys for media player still haven't.

I can't find the drivers for them (I don't think they exist for a F20) so I was wondering if anyone had a solution.

    Thank you

    Hi faarn

You can't find the Vista drivers as Vista don t drivers is on the page of Toshiba. Some people have posted a link to the official document on the units of Vista support and the Qosmio G and F20 was not on the list.

But another clue. Check the drivers in another series as F30 or G30. But the chances are small that the pilots will run

  • DAQ read and write synchronization

I would like to acquire the data permanently (I) and sometimes write data (AO).

Currently I have a Subvi permanently this bed to 125kHz. The data is passed to a queue. Another Subvi accepts a user input and provides output tension affecting playback. I traced reading and voltage on a chart. I noticed that over time, the input and output lose alignment. Initially, it is +/-10 ms and then past at 100 + ms - as the control voltage above reading expected by 100 m I switch the control voltage to the Subvi acquisition via a global variable and insert it into a table with playback.

I am sure that is not the way to do it, but I can't see how trigger can help me here, given that the reading should be continuous. I just need to align the output to the input of my land.

    I solved the task:

I put a VI "get the date and time" in a structure to deal with the writing of data acquisition. Then, I used the wave function of build and wired an array of unique value (the value of the AO) with the time stamp (to). So instead of using a waveform graph, I used a XY Chart and traced this waveform, but also the waveform of analog input (combined in a table). So if I send a voltage pulse at time t = 100 ms, I see an increase at t = 100 +/-1 m higher, I see the rise at t = 100 + dt ms (dt ~ 10 to 100), because the data was drawn from the buffer too slowly.

Since I am acquiring data at all times, regardless of the result, triggering is not really useful here.

  • Read and write to a port

    Hello

I tried to read and write in a port using .net 3.5 example codes that are supplied with the controller. Examples\DotNet 3.5\Digital\Generate Values\Write Dig channel and channel digging reading. Regardless of the value that I write I always get a positive output reading and all the bits are high on the channel. To reporoduce the problem simply run two programs at the Dig sametime writing and reading Dig Channel channel. Set the port to Dev1/Port0 / line0:7 in the two tests and write a negative value for any or all channels. When you read the values, the values are all positive. I tried using the example of code in VB and I get the same results. Please note that the regulator is working properly when I run the test, measurement and automation. I looked at the Forums and I found the post to:

http://forums.NI.com/T5/Measurement-Studio-for-VC/basic-questions-about-PCI-DIO-96/m-p/242296 The name of the article is basic questions about PCI-DIO-96 and it says that the values written should persist. Any ideas on what I can do wrong?

    Thanks, Magued

This is a LabVIEW and an example VB that illustrate the use of tristate to switch between the input and the output. The output setting will allow you to drive the liine and re-read what you wrote. The read setting will allow you to read an external digital signal. Please excuse the fact that these are examples of rough and informal.

  • Reading and writing VISA function

    Hi all

I am trying to record data from Server series (which has 16 ports) through com ports (I use total 7 ports).

Here, I'd understand the VISA service.

    Question 1

If I want to just save data (from the server), can I still write VISA function to read from COM1?

    Or

Can I just use VISA based only on read and read the string of com port data?

    Question 2

After I save data of type string, I'll save in a text file.

But what I see inside the save file is just a raw string of data (which I can't read).

How to cut data type string in different reading (different record like the tension, the ammeter reading and on/off switch)?

    Please advise...

Question 1 – it depends on what is the other end of the serial port. If it's broadcasting data all the time, a reading is all you need. If she needs a command to send you information, then you will need both. Look at the definition of communication protocol for what you are trying to read.

Question 2 - do you need to format. There are a lot of string screws on the palette of the string manipulation, not knowing how the string is formatted at all to start I can not give you advice more than that. An example of the way you write to file, and what you do with the data received can be useful... If the data is coming from a long series, if all goes well there are separators and a chain analysis helps you to highlight if you need to. If you read each port in turn and concatanting just a string, put a constant of the tab between them (available on the palette of strings), or no matter what other delimiter you want to use for that matter. Otherwise, if they are all in the field of fixed-length subset of string vi could be a way to go.

  • PM3000a: Serial Read and Write out of sync

    Hello

I'm reading the values of the PM3000a during the series. I use LabView 2009 32 bit and VISA 5.2.

I used the LabView driver and programs downloaded from here and have reworked to get my current VI.

Mainly in my program, I am looping through some series of an array of strings controls and burning one at a time to the PM3000a during the series and then read and store the query results in a digital picture.

For some reason, sometimes values blend. I have attached my VI and a screenshot.

The results that I expect are:

    (Power application): FND:CH1:WAT? = ~ 300

    (Application of voltage): FND:CH1:VLT? = ~ 230

But the actual results I get:

    (Power application): FND:CH1:WAT? = ~ 230

    (Application of voltage): FND:CH1:VLT? = ~ 300

    Thanks in advance

In somne point you miss read data, so it will stay in the buffer and will be read instead of the most recent data.

Add a ' VISA RAS I/O buffer "before sending a request should help.

And try to find out why there is some left in the buffer data data sometimes can be send because of the interaction of the user on the intrument Panel (print button etc.))

The response of an instrument generally includes the unit, using "Analysis of the chain", you can add a control.

During the validation of the screws, you must include the Subvi

For assistance with additional string testing also store strings in an indicator of the chain, make all default values, save the vi and that post.

  • GPIB read and write commands of Agilent 54642 oscilloscope

    Dear friends,

I would like to acquire a waveform of Agilent 54642 ocsilloscope in the LabView 7.1 via GPIB program. Can anyone mention the GPIB read and write commands for the oscilloscope even?

Furthermore, on the subject of the LabView program, is it fair to place blocks to write two GPIB followed by a single GPIB read block (everything series), as well as an indicator, in order to check the waveform in LabView?

Kindly help me with your answers...

    Look forward to y...

Thank you very much in advance...

Download the 7.0 driver that Albert gave the link to, make sure that you have installed NI-VISA and run the getting started sample which is part of the pilot. If it does not, please elaborate on the error codes that are reported.

  • Series read returns the string with excess-need information to extract data from the middle of the string

I read data from a STI flow meter using the base series writing and reading which used the VISA.  The read string begins with 'OK' or an error code, then a carriage return, then the data follows streaming rate temp pressure flow rate comma comma comma comma Temp... and so on. The string ends with a CR LF.  I need to pull the flow, temperature and pressure data out of the string and write it to a file.  I have difficulties to find a function that will retrieve the data for the string.  Any suggestions?  Thank you.

Try the subset of string in the palette of the chain.

Or match the model if you want a more direct control.

Also a good way is the string analysis, but you must be willing to read oexactly, what happens or an error, pass the entrance.
