9232. NOR shift & weight LSB

Hi guys,.

I use an analog-to-digital converter of NI 9232.

could someone tell me what means LSB weight and Offset in this node? I can't find the explanation in all manual.

I think that "Offset" could be the offset of the input data. The maybe of value DC but that I do not understand why it is the integer and FXP not...

(1) search for "calibration of gain and offset" on the net to get the basics.

(2) read "Converting and calibration CompactRIO Analog Input values" the help of LabVIEW.

(3) If you don't take care of the calibration program, change the settings in the property box module (ProjectExplorer) calibrated mode.

It may be useful

    Hi all!

can I connect this PE sensor to a NOR-9232?

There is not much info here... What worries me is the use of pC/g instead of mV/g.

    any thoughts?

    Thank you

A piezoelectric sensor with output load requires a signal conditioning circuit to convert a voltage of this accusation. While, in principle, a capacitor will do the job, in practice very careful circuit design may have to get accurate results.

The 9232 NOR is designed to work with IEPE sensors, which have built-in signal conditioning.  If dig you deep enough into the specifications, you will find that the input impedance is 324000 ohms, which is much too low to work directly with a piezo sensor.

You need a signal conditioner.  The data sheet that you have linked lists conditiners signal among the accessories.

  • FPGA - DMA with several cMoudules

    Hello!

I have a Setup with a cRIO (cRIO-9114 chassis, controller cRIO-9025) and four cModules, NI 9225, NI 9227, NI 9232 and NI 9239. The 9232 NOR has a max of 102,400 kS/s sampling rate, while the other three have 50 kech. / s.

I use DMA FIFO to transfer the data from the FPGA and there are only three DMA channels. Since the 9232 NOR has a sample rate most high, I used a DMA FIFO transfer data for this add-on. But for the rest cModules, I want to transfer data from each of them in some cases while in others, I am only interested in the data of one of them. It is advisable to transfer all of them in a FIFO DMA? Is it possible to use a FIFO DMA to transfer data for all four cModules?

    Thank you!

If you transfer a lot of data for the code in real time, you must make sure, you can manage the treatment of it, which will be a lot of data to receive, process, store/transmission etc.

But in any case, it is certainly a good idea to use a DMA for data 9232. For the three other modules, if you are only interested in a number of modules whenever you read from them, then you must implement a policy for the reception of data through a second DMA channel.

A solution might be to precede the data with a unique value, also sent through secondary DMA, which defines the incoming data. For example, you can use a condensed binary byte (upconvertis to any type of data do you cross the DMA), in which the first three bits declare what modules are actively playing. So for 00000111 you read from all of the modules, with 00000101 you read modules 1 and 3. The amount of data after this condensed binary byte will depend entirely on the modules that you are reading from, clearly the maximum number allowed will be for the three modules, but in all cases, you can go out and prepare to receive the end of RealTime data properly.

It's just a suggestion. There are better options, include leaders from Pack and terminators, in which case precede you the binary byte condensed with a known value to provide guarantees that the DMA buffer is always synchronized, but these concepts are difficult to describe in a single thread post...

    Hi Cor - el
The problem seems to have disappeared with the upgrade to V17.0. It must have been a conflict between my WinXP and V16.0.2 that the problem appeared when the upgrading to V16.0.2 and disappeared with V17.0.
I have not had the problem with Win7 on another machine.

I will mark the problem as solved when I have used Fx for a few days and the problem does nor re-occur.

    Thanks for your help.

  • How to prevent a value in the updated shift register?

    Hi comrades NOR users,.

I am new to graphical programming LabView and the Acquisition of equipment. After reading the basics of loops, data flows and data memories, I'm still lost of what I'm trying to achieve.

I use a DAQ to acquire the digital signal of all the relays. When the relay is turned on, it generates a 1, and when it goes off it genereates has 0.  I also have a counter so that the contours of the reversal of the relay. The relays are stunning and turn off every 4 minutes.

However, during the night a relay can misfire and the County would not match upward. I want to write a LabView program that would stop the test when the relay cont of incompatibilities.

That's what I've got so far.

The concent is easy, take the current 1 d array and compare with the previous table, if one of the element in array 1 d current is identical to the previous item, then I know that there is a rate of relay.

Problem is that the previous table registry to offset is constantly updated since the acquisition of data is continually signals.

How can I take the 1 d of the previous reading counter table without being crushed?

    See you soon,.

    Hello to 12 inches,

Shift registers are always up to date, but you can use shift stacked registers to read data from previous iterations.  Take a look at the following information:

  • phase shifted PWM with Ni 9401 and Crio

    Hello

Do you have an idea of pwm shifted 180 degrees?

(duty cycle frequency and variable difficulty)

I tried a design, but it seems in the graphics design works on the realtime.vi but it does not work with the fpga.

Graphic output pwm FPGA are distinguished by the real time as you can see in the pictures.

On the other hand, VI Fpga produce two pwm, as seen in the oscilloscope when the fpga VI runs.

However, there is no phase shift between the PWM waves.
It is a part of my thesis, but I'm stuck in this problem, so I need assistance on your part.

    Thank you.

I put the output into the same output block.

Square wave generator does not accept 'loop' while.

I have attached a simple FPGA project file. Could you please tell me what is my fault?

The resulting Pwm frequency is 10 kHz, the only problem is always the shifters.

  • I2C implementation using NOR-6008

    Hello world

I have a NOR-6008 low cost multifunction data acquisition.

Can I use this with shifter voltage level to apply the I2C Protocol...

You must use the approach of bit - strike (i.e., change you the clock and data lines yourself) and it would be timed by the software. But yes, you could do.

Your next question will be: are there examples? There are many examples on the conduct of IO digital who settle with DAQmx. Regarding the implementation of I2C, the spec is available. http://en.Wikipedia.org/wiki/I%C2%B2C

  • Shift register no

I am new to multisim and indeed digital theory in general. I am trying to wrap my head around shift registers, and I hope someone can help out me.

A circuit with a 74164 conduct 8 LEDs is attached. I filled A & B high if it is enabled and has a HIGH constant, be entered into the registry. The switch acts as a clock pulse to slow things right down. CLR is connected to the Earth.

I would have thought that you simulate a clock pulse by flipping the switch, the LED output would start low and starts moving the TOP signal outputs to each clock pulse down. But no, all lights remain low.

Someone can give information me on what I know is a fairly simple problem? Is my circuit, nor my reasoning wrong?

The light is very active. Attach it high.

  • Strange shift in FM modulation

    Hello OR developers!

I read materials/manulas on how to perform the FM modulation on the site of NOR and created my own VI.

When I modulate signal I can see that there is a phase shift strange between Message signal (red color) and FM (blue color).

If I understand well the signal modulated in frequency theory must have maximum frequency directly to a point where the signal of Message offers a maximum amplitude.

I studied my VI but can not find where I have error, maybe someone experienced users can see?

VI is attached below. (LabView 7.1)

    Thanks in advance.

I modified your first VI.  Is this the feature you were looking for?

  • As a strain gauge measure weight?

Hello everyone. I am doing a project in Labview and I have to measure the weight of the different animals. I was thinking a strain gauge to measure with the NOR-9237 as DAQ hardware. Can it happen? I downloaded a system image.

    Thanks in advance

You're still more general. If you want us ethe USB daq, you should have the driver for the acquisition of data so that you can detect the hardware in the window of measurement and Automation Explorer and then take an example of simple data acquisition and trying to work around. Create a task for the channel you are going to connect to the strain/in² and then configure the channel type and etc, and then you're good to go with the stuffs of base (DAQ assistant) in LabVIEW.

  • SHIFT key no longer works correctly

Just after the update for Sierra, my shift key don't work as it should. I can use it to make caps, so I know there is nothing wrong with the keyboard, but I can't use it for shortcuts in the programs.

For example, before I could hold shift and right-click to automatically collect some loot in WoW or use SHIFT and regular clicks to mark several emails. It doesn't work anymore and I have no idea where to start troubleshooting! The only thing Ive done so far is to restart my iMac did not help...

    Hey Lady.

We will try to reset the NVRAM first. Usually, who takes care of a lot of things after the upgrade of the Sierra.

Restart your Mac and hold down the command, Option, P, and R, which will reset the NVRAM.

Before you try to make sure that you really begin to press the 4 keys simultaneously in the command sequence first finger, the Option 2 finger, ring finger P and fourth finger R... only after having heard the startup chime. You will have to perhaps exercise to make this right if you can't do it right the first time. The idea is that, once you have all these 4 keys after hearing the first chime you always hold on the key and release just after hear you the second startup chime. And then after that it starts to make a restart more and then test the SHIFT key on your keyboard.

If it does not then I buy a secondary keyboard and test if it does the same thing.

Is there a way to do an equivalent to Ctrl-Shift file selection icon?

I get in the view of the list in now Shift, but in icon mode Shift seems to behave as a control, add individual files to the selection, rather than all files between the first and last selected...?

Unfortunately, no. To do this, I suggest you drag the slider with the trackpad (or mouse) to select all the files at once.
