I had these files in my home directory of root C:\, example "{1679281A-FE57-45C4-8A35-A238F3102661}". They do not appear every day but regular, (50/04/2013, 2013/04/08, 09/04/2013) there is still 2 to 4 of these files on the day where they are created. If you open them in 'Notepad', they seem to be compiled. Each file name is always 36 characters but different characters each time, they are all size 3 KB. I use windows 7 64-bit Ultimate. I do not know what program or action creates these files. They began to appear in the middle of 2012.

Hello

These digital alpha folders are created as part of the restoration of the system. These folders are created when the system restore points are created. If you want to remove these files, you can run a disk clean up and select the system restore and shadow copies.
Note: All the previous System Restore points out the most recent system restore point will be deleted.

Messages are stored as eml files.  Is there no eml files, then there is no message.  Check in the windows.old directory if there is one, because it may contain old data.  The location of the message in Vista store is c:\users\[username]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows mail, so you might check there.

I found 2 Trojan horses using Malwarebytes which seem to be in the files of HP. I ran a few test today and it showed up after I used the HP Support Assistant tools to run the verification of hard disk and video verification. Infected files have been:

Help!     I ran Malwarebytes, Eset, Symantec (SEP) Diskcleanup is what is on my computer

    Thanks, JD

I don't know what you mean by the icon "open with."  It seems that if the previous user was associated with the file extension "DAT" Nero. Instructions to undo this association is at the bottom of this answer.

The "DAT" file extension is a very common extension.  Most of these files are files 'DATa' and not intended to be opened by the casual user.  You really shouldn't be deleting random files like that.  There is a good reason that you could not remove the ntuser.dat files - it is a part of the Windows registry that specifies a large number of your Windows profile information.

If by 'Eset' you mean that you have run the Eset online scanner, it's OK.  If you mean that you have Eset NOD32 Antivirus, then you have too many antivirus applications (I delete MS in favour of NOD32, but see the next paragraph).

Many people would deem prudent to completely reinstall Windows on any computer you get used.  Not sure what's on this computer and this is the case, what you know not certainly can harm you - in addition to a.

Once installed the clean, you will have the equivalent of a "new computer" in order to take care of everything in the list below, in order, before connecting the machine to the internet or a local network (i.e. other computers) and before you plug in a flash, SD card, or any other external computer diskotherwise:

    1. Make sure that the Windows Firewall is enabled.
    2. Uninstall all now invalid Norton, McAfee, etc., free version of test which was also reinstalled, run the appropriate removal tool (see below), and then install an application antivirus of your choice (for example, http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/default.aspxMicrosoft Security Essentials- free). [This does not apply to Symantec Endpoint Protection; this product is not likely to have been offered as a "free trial" and the Norton Removal Tool should not be used with seven].
    3. Arrival to Windows Update & get the computer fully patched.

TIP: Use another and negative computer to download programs for, for example, SP2 or SP3 installation, the installer for your new anti-virus application and or other removal tools cited below. Transfer these files to CD or DVD (not a flash drive) and then transfer the files of the CD or DVD on the desktop of the computer you are using.

Considering that Symantec Endpoint Protection is installed mainly on the company's computers (that is, not the personal computers), the initially configured COMPUTER company service computer may have removed the ability to restore the computer to its factory condition.  If this is the case, you can get from Dell recovery media.

If for any reason you decide not to reinstall Windows, you can unbind of DATS with NERO as follows:

  • Can I safely delete all these files on clean now?

I had to reinstall my OS after I found a rather nasty on my computer virus. After having done that of course he saved my old files of windows and all my old programs Can I remove all these files on clean now? Also, what are in Hibernation File Cleaner files it a huge 1.98 GB? User and system archived Windows error reporting and error system queued reports, can also these go too?

    Hello

Well, if they are of no use to you, you can safely remove them using disk cleanup. However, I would recommend you search and back up important files before you delete them.

  • What permissions to these files?

    Hey all!

Here's the situation. I had a few GB 26 or 2200 plus value of personal photos stored at C:\Users\Samir\Pictures. I was running is not enough space at the moment, so I bought and installed a new internal disk drive. I was planning on moving all my personal data of my users folder to the new drive.

I used Acronis True Image 2011 to take a backup of the volume unit C system image. Then I reinstalled Windows Vista, because it was part of the plan because he was already collapsing with register broken and everything. I decided to do a full backup of the system C volume because it was way easier and faster backup. This has worked well. I now have a backup image named Windows system volume C backup.tib stored on a hard drive volume G secondary.

Now I have an instance new and working of Windows Vista with SP1 and SP2 installed. But I seem to have problems with permissions now. My old installation being broken, I didn't have to restore the entire system. I wanted to only restore my files and personal folders, like the ones I mentioned. But if I try turning up the volume as a virtual disk backup image, which is a feature of Acronis True Image incidentally, and I try to access my users folder or folders, I get this message.

"You don't have currently not allowed access to this folder.

Click on continue to get permanent access to this folder. »

I click on continue and continue again for the UAC prompt. Then I can access the folder. But I do like any other file, or so, and it's annoying. And for some folders, just by clicking on continue does not help. In this case, I would get a message like this.

"You refused permission to access this folder.

To access this file you will need to use the Security tab. »

If I click with the right button on the folder and click Properties and go to the Security tab, I get this message.

"To continue, you must be an administrative user with permission to view the security properties of this object."

I click on button continue there as well and I get the dialogue box "properties of Permission for [file name]." It lists these users or groups.

    • SYSTEM
    • Account(S-1-5-21-3849085924-3478090367-3125135303-1000) unknown
    • Directors (Mycomputer\Administrators)
    • WMPNetworkSvc

Question 1: Who or what is this "account unknown (random number)?

Question 2: Who or what is WMPNetworkSvc?

Question 3: What permissions do I need to get rid of this gene and access the files normally?

Question 4: Do I need to take possession of the any of these files? Who or what needs to be set as the owner?

Question 5: I have to delete this unknown account, and how can I do?

I would appreciate help with this one. I don't know what's the problem with him, but it does not appear to be related to the permissions in Windows. So, help please?

P.s. I should mention that I am the only user on the computer. So I should be a member of the Administrators group already, huh?

    1. This 'random number' is the SID of the account that was used to create the folder on your previous installation of Vista.

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit with UAC disabled

    Hello

I turned on my computer this morning and all of a sudden all _ broke loose. Everytime I try and open an exe file I get a security alert box Windows telling me that:

"Unable to open these files. Your Internet security settings prevented one or more current files opening. »

I read through every thread I can find on the subject, and none of the "answers" worked for me.

I tried the common next 'solutions' with no luck:

    (1) right click on the exe, click Properties
    Click the Unlock button
    Click OK

    (2) adding exe to the control panel > Windows Defender > Tools > Options > excluded file types

    (3) start / Control Panel / Internet Options.
    (Displays control panel Internet Options)
    Click the security"" tab.
    Click "Local Intranet".
    Drag the slider to "Low".
    Click the 'Sites '.
    Click on the button "Advanced".
Enter the IP address of the NAS / SMB / CIFS / some server and click "add".
    Click "close".

    (4) delete the registry key - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderTypes\{EF87B4CB-F2CE-4785-8658-4CA6C63E38C6}\TopViews\{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}

    (5) create a profile admin completely. -This one was interesting, when I logged on the account there was no aero theme - he went immediately to the essential.

    So any ideas?

I had not mentioned in my HKCU registry entry. I solved the problem by resetting all my settings IE. If something in Internet Explorer is the cause.  In fact, which fixed the problem for every user profile on the machine.

Ouch! Please do not yell at us. We can hear you if you type normally,

Programming software is Visual Studio. If you do not, you do not have

But to be on the safe side, before deleting, why not burn these
files on a CD? That way if something later complains of not

  • Reset your Pc does not "Insert Media some files is missing." Your windows installation or medial recovery will provide these files. "

I try to use "reset your PC.  Once the computer is thinking on this subject for a while it comes up with this error: "Insert Media some files is missing." Your windows installation or medial recovery will provide these files"there is a button"Cancel ". and that's all I can do.

    My problem,

I have two hard drives.  Who has windows on it and programs.  A second hard drive which has all my other programs on it.  I install a third hard drive, and when I did it changed my second hard drive volume letter.  I followed the steps to change my drive volume to the Moose letter, but this letter is not an option in the menu dropdown.  When I put the hard drive that had the letter of volume change to another computer, it happens that the drive letter in the correct volume:

So, I need to run my programs.  I tried to re - install or uninstall some key programs, but I get an error that it can't uninstall, and it cannot install because it first tries to uninstall.  (example, I get the error message 'Error' 'the program name "" is not a valid short file name "then it cancels the uninstall when I hit the 'ok' button.)

I have decided to all re - install windows and start over, but now I get this new error.    "Media insert some files is missing." Your windows installation or medial recovery will provide these files. "

My version of windows 8 Pro has an upgrade to windows 7, you only gave me a key in my e-mail address without link to download software.

I don't have an optical drive.

How to re - install a version of windows 8 with this error message?

    Hello

To refresh or reset the computer, you must have the installation of Windows 8 media. See the article and try to create one:

How to create an installation media for a PC refresh or reset

To perform a new installation of Windows 8, you can see the article:

Note: be sure to back up all data before the installation of Windows 8.

  • Photos modified in Photoshop then saved, PhotoShop or Mac doesn't give the photo a file extension, and these files can not reopened.

Photos modified in Photoshop then saved, PhotoShop or Mac doesn't give the photo a file extension, and these files can not reopened.

I use a mac with PhotoShop CC and have experienced a problem during the recording of pictures once I've retouched in Photoshop. If I open a RAW or DNG file in camera RAW, or a TIF or JPG created in Lightroom in Photo and then change the file, everything looks OK. When I came to save the RAW as a TIF or JPG, or a TIF or JPG saved previously, or DNG PhotoShop or Mac file does not give a picture of a file extension.

These files cannot be reopened by myself in PhotoShop to be re-edited or opened by someone, I send the photos to use them or for them to print. Also, when I try to load these pictures on a website they are not recognized and rejected. Adobe Bridge recognizes the file in the format that I saved and saved in the metadata window file format, but does not show a file extension.

So far to solve the problem I had to export the file with the < file > < Export > function, otherwise I do not use PhotoShop like my photo editor. Export gives the file saved a file extension.

I use a Pro-impression who explained I had sent her one of these files without file extension and it is not able to open, edit, print, or save the file. My printer also explained that he experienced this problem on several other occasions.

Can Adobe indicate what changes you made and how to overcome this problem please?

The content of these files can be deleted?

In the Finder, and then to the library I have two files, one is called caches and cookies to others.  What is inside them can be deleted?

I have an iMac running macOS Sierra 10.12.

    Thank you

    Select this option.

There are actually several 'library' files in the Finder and it is better that you don't mess with them.  Most browsers have ways to delete the cookies in the browser itself and adjusting the size of browser cache.  Caches speed up the operation of the computer, and unless you have a specific problem, you have not and should not, remove them.  At best he probably will do nothing, and at worst you may have to reinstall your operating system.

The iPad does not support USB keys. There are some wireless flash drives that can be used, but not the classical records. I suggest you transfer files to a computer and their synchronization then back to the iPad via iTunes.
