9625 OR compactDAQ/compactRIO compatibility?

Hello

The question I would ask is if NEITHER 9265 (current analog output module) is compatible with

compactDAQ or not.

Comparison tables shown attached PDFs, ' NOR-card technique-ds - 219.pdf ' , says no compatibility

for compactDAQ.

And in the other pdf ' NOR-card technique-ds - 220.pdf ' says 'Yes' compatibility.

Which is correct?

Waiting for urgent response... Thank you

Hi Waqar123,

I'm sorry for the confusion.  According to the documentation below, the NI 9265 is compatible with the CompactDAQ or CompactRIO.

http://www.NI.com/white-paper/8136/en

Also, on the page of the product linked below, according to the specifications that it is listed as CompactDAQ and CompactRIO Form Factor.

http://sine.NI.com/NIPs/CDs/view/p/lang/en/NID/208808

The 9265 is compatible with CompactDAQ and CompactRIO.  It seems that the PDF form technique OR ds 219.doc which you logged in your post is incorrect and I will work on having fixed.  Thank you for that bring to our attention.

  • What compactDAQ for optical encoder module

If I have an optical encoder with a resolution of half a plan on using it for the speed or position and degree, can anyone recommend a CompactDAQ/CompactRIO module?  LabVIEW would be fast enough to keep up if Let's say your device runs at 50 rpm?

    Hi NSL22,

What is a quadrature encoder that displays voltage TTL levels?

    If so, I suggest a 9401 or 9402.

50 rpm should be no problem (half a degree of resolution would give rise to a 600 Hz signal, these cards can take up to 10 MHz).

Do you just need to display the position of the encoder?  Compact DAQ has embedded counters that handle most of the work so that the software should not have to do much.  If you are using Compact RIO you program yourself on the FPGA.  If you want to provide feedback based on the position of the encoder, Compact RIO would probably be the best option.  If this isn't the case, DAQ Compact should be more than enough, depending on what exactly you need to do.

  • Pin assignment connector D - SUB 15 pin on CompactDAQ chassis

    Hi all

I want to use a 9172 CompactDAQ with a Tablet for the measurement of flight with a glider plane, where several ADXL335 disk accelerations are recorded. They need a 5V supply, which should be available from the connector 15-pin D - SUB from the backplane NI 9172. Where can I find the pin assignment?

    Thanks in advance,

    Jan

    Hello Jan,

If you want to use the connector D - SUB of your cDAQ/cRIO, then you will find official information in the "CompactRIO Module Development Kit":

    NEITHER cRIO-9951 - National Instruments
    http://sine.NI.com/NIPs/CDs/view/p/lang/de/NID/14548

I found a few informal and information unconfirmed which I cite, and maybe already helps you:

[...] PIN 4 is 5V and 14 pins is GND. However, be aware that there is a danger accidentally
damage the bottom of basket in this approach, so we cannot guarantee this type of use.

If you just need to join the + 5V and gnd lines, a safer option is to use a module NI 9411
who uses a regulator by an external power supply to 5V on the front connector.

  • Speed CompactDAQ OR 9401 DIO PWM

I think the use of a DIO NI9401 to generate 4 PWM.  The module can do 100 ns (10 MHz).  If I want to generate 4 PWM, each 1 MHz with a CompactDAQ, I should be ok, right?  I guess I can do that, because the NI9401 is a correlation module, and I should be able to give the news of PWM waveform for module and it allows to generate the PWM without using software to turn the line.  CompactDAQ not being real time as the CompactRIO, I'm afraid that he can't have enough speed.  Comments?

    jyang72211,

My understanding of your project, you should be able to do. Don't forget not to a rate of update of the full cycle taking 1 MHz and 10 MHz, you can change state 10 times per cycle (duty 10 cycles). Specifications listed on our site for the 9401, that it seems the maximum clock frequency of 10 MHz, which should be fine.

One thing to note is that you should probably use the regeneration for continuous output data, I doubt that you will be able to broadcast four waveforms by usb/ethernet to 10 MHz. However, it is possible to get a glitch when you start trying to write a new waveform in the guy when you implement the regeneration of your project. This could be a problem for some apps and not even noticed by others.

  • RT warning flag target CompactRIO

Because I'm having a problem with IMAQ Vision, as seen in this post, I decided to pop in for LabVIEW 2013 installation disk and I'm having a problem of getting up and running.

    http://forums.NI.com/T5/LabVIEW/IMAQ-not-compatible-with-LabVIEW-2014/TD-p/2959395

I went through the installation process and checked all the boxes, but when I run my examples, I get a warning on the CompactRIO RT target flag. I click "Explain the warning" and the goal it's an unsupported element...

Which is strange because I did an installation complete from the media evaluation to be sure I don't miss anything. This could possibly be a problem due to the 2013 and 2014, having installed on the same computer?

Compatibility, seems, is not quite 100%. After the first installation of the suite of 2014 (before the 2013 suite), the real time for 2013 module kept on the slightest error on the installation, saying that it was not compatible with my system. That was the case, even after that uninstall all 2014 associates that I could find and re-install from the 2013 assessment media. What has ended up doing the trick was of "nuke it orbit." I NOT uninstalled and reinstalled from scratch, so I would start with a blank slate.

  • CompactRIO and LabWindows

Recently, I used Compact FieldPoint for projects, and I SCXI for DAS projects for a long time.  PSC is therefore limited in speed and functoins I started to look at other solutions.  Even the PSC on the site pages OR suggest looking at CompacRIO as an alternative.  CompactRIO seems to be radically different from the CFP, because it is not just a simple front-end DAS, but has the power of processor in real-time and FPGA.  Seems to be very well suited for LabView, where it is probably much more effective to put as much processing in hardware capacity, because it is unbearably difficult to systms large program in LabView.

But I program only in C in LabWindows, develop small and very large data acquisition and control systems.  In this case I need a small unit DAS, a few channels of gauges, DIO, AIO, a mile way on an Ethernet fiber optic cable, order of 3 phase Motors 480VAC and measure weigh them 250 000 lbs.

So, after all that, down to the questions: is it possible to use CompactRIO as a simple front-end DAS, as I used PSC?  How it fits in CVI and the driver package?  Or I have to do in real time in the thing in order to get programming to do anything at all?  is thre any documentation that explains how to use CompactRIO with CVI?

    Hi hendra@ngms,

Can you explain what you mean by DAS? If you are referring to a simple data acquisition system and you do not want to program in real time, I would recommend looking at our systems cDAQ.

    http://www.NI.com/dataacquisition/CompactDAQ/

CVI does support real-time and FPGA programming.

    http://sine.NI.com/NIPs/CDs/view/p/lang/en/NID/209322

    http://digital.NI.com/public.nsf/allkb/30EB76F8F4690CD08625716800833C74

The cRIO feature of scan mode, but you still need to do real-time programming. Scan mode allows to jump on FPGA programming.

    http://zone.NI.com/DevZone/CDA/tut/p/ID/7338#toc4

As I mentioned earlier, if you want to avoid the real time programming, you should watch a cDAQ system. cDAQ is programmed with the DAQmx API, which is also supported in CVI.

  • CompactDAQ via the virtual machine

    Hi all

before I dive into the documentation, how can I a CompactDAQ ethernet to connect to a virtual machine?

In other words, what kind of ethernet configuration is necessary?

The device has a static address (on what subnet?).

should I use DHCP (I need a DHCP server on my host?).

I can run my guest in NAT or must it be closed?

Or is the totally different protocol, non - IP based (in this case how do I pass it to a virtual machine?).

    Thank you

OK, I'll answer my message because it may be useful to others.

In the configuration of the VM, set two networks:

-one such as a NAT device is bound to the network interface used to access the web. Here I use the host being Linux and there is wifi, wlan0

-one as a BRIDGE is related to the ethernet jack connected to the CompactRIO

Start the virtual computer and configure the ethernet connection 2nd to use DNS and no firewall. After installing NIDAQmx, restart and from MAX, the devices should begin to appear.

  • How many simultaneous tasks may be accompanied by OR compactRIO

    Hello world

I m new to modular data acquisition. I need to gain about 10-12 simultaneous analog inputs for the quality of food and the transient analysis. As NI CompactDaq specifications States that it can accommodate 7 - simultaneous tasks while for NI CompactRIO, no information is mentioned in its specifications.

So my question is how many simultaneous tasks can be supported by CompactRIO?

So please help me regarding the choice of system type or CompactDaq or CompactRIO fulfil certain conditions in my case.

Yes, you will be able to do it with a cDAQ.  As long as you are in a frame, you can share the same time base and start on the same trigger.

  • How to: Crush 3/iMac 5 k (compatibility mode)

    Hello friends,

I see quite a few new features on the market with Thunderbolt 3. According to the FAQ of TB3 Intel, TB1 and TB2 was designed with future upgrades in mind. This means that you can connect, once a solution is available, on a host of TB2 TB3 system using compatibility mode. It will only work to 20Gbps TB2, but work remains. The same is true of peripheral TB2 TB3 host computer (will work but at slower speed)

This would be similar to the connection of a USB 3 device on a USB 2 or 1 USB host but only get speeds over slow or vice versa.

The question I have is that if someone came out with these fittings/adapters? What I've seen online seems to go using a device of TB2 and TB3 host and each of these adapters is Windows only. I have spent too many hours searching so I'm curious to know if someone has yet to fall on an adapter or converter that connect DisplayPort TB2 host and have the device USB-C/TB3 (USB - C not only) in compatibility mode.

The reason? Peripheral TB3 are already less expensive than TB2 devices. I don't know who will get the most expensive. I don't care 40Gbps if he gives me a simple way to add multiple devices USB 3.0, exhibitions and maybe the eSata device. I know there are hubs, but I would prefer something that is the test of the future TB3 would be cheaper and future proof for NeXTGen computers.

(Sorry for the TL; DR but it is always a person who does not read or "assume" it is a noob question and gives an answer "Captain Obvious". Don't BE this guy here...)

    Sincere greetings,

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. I understand that the Digital Raw compatibility update, version 6.20 performed several times, but the App Store there is always a full update. I am pleased to provide you with advice for this problem.

First of all, let me put your mind at ease. It is an updated official Apple for the compatibility of the RAW for OS X El Capitan image, not a virus. It seems that OS X is not recognizing that it was already done.

Let's start troubleshooting by restarting your MacBook. Then we will try to complete the update by using the link below, instead of using the App Store.

  • Compatibility «?» (Mac Pro Tower / Firewire / climax together, etc..)

I take Logic Pro 9, but after looking at all the improvements for Logic Pro X, I can't wait to get up to speed.

I like the look of the improvements to the plug-in; logic adding distance (not available for LP9?); Drum Kit Designer, synthesizer, etc.

When he (LP10) announced that there is a flagrant limitation I had with my current set-up but I don't remember what the hiccup was... perhaps there is none and I could be good-to-go.  Can anyone confirm if and where I'm looking at compatibility problems?

System: Mac Pro Tower (mid-2010) 2.8 GHz Quad Core Intel Xenon

    OS: 10.10.5 (Yosemite)

    Interface: Climax together - Firewire

If I remember, the question I met was first introduced with the announcement of Logic Pro X was he needed El Capitan - which did not offer the divers "Core Audio" / support, which means that overall height (Firewire) would be uncertain if even not work at all.  "" Looking at the "tech specs" on Logic Pro X, it supports OS X 10.10.  That looks promising (if it in fact the issue with El Capitan and the lack of support for Core Audio driver still exists).

Can I run Logic Pro X to Yosemite?

Can I run overall height (FireWire) in El Capitan without the Core Audio Driver issues / Firewire?

    Thanks in advance!

I must add, additional hardware, I am running is a UAD PCI card in the tower.
