A bar on the screen of my HP Pavilion dv8t computer flashing intermitantly hangs the computer

A flashing bar appears intermitantly on my HP Pavilion dv8t computer screen and locks the computer when it flashes.   This happens if I am connected to internet or not. I use Windows 7 and I am a novice user.

Hello

Download and install the update the firmware at the link below - quick launch buttons that should fix the problem with the capacitive touch keys activating randomly.

http://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp53501-54000/sp53677.exe

After the installation is complete, restart the laptop.

Kind regards

  • I don't see the status bar at the bottom of the screen. How can I get that back?

Something has changed. The status bar disappeared. The only way I seem to be able to leave Firefox is to close.

First of all, you can check that Firefox is not in his view full screen where the Windows task bar is hidden. The F11 key toggles between the normal modes and full screen.

If Firefox hides the taskbar of Windows in normal mode, a file that stores the dimensions of Windows Firefox may be damaged. If you are not able to resize the window manually, you can delete this file for Firefox back to its original size.

    To try to manually resize:

Press Alt + space to display the system menu of the Firefox window, and then click the size (or press S) and press the arrow down once, then the arrow upwards once. This will usually move the bottom of the Firefox window to the visible area of the screen. If it is not visible, try pressing the arrow upwards several times, or for a while. To complete the editing of size, press ENTER.

If the window is maximized, then size is grayed out. This is normal, and this method won't help.

    To delete the settings file:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

You can activate missing bars (menus, toolbar bookmarks bar) using the list on the toolbar, which you can view by using one of the following:

    • Right-click on a zone empty of the tab bar, or click the "+" button on the tab bar
    • Press the Alt key to activate the classic menu bar, and then view > toolbars
    • on the Customize tab, use the button "show/hide Toolbar" (controls, buttons, and Toolbars Customize Firefox)

  • Whenever I have press F11 or click full screen, my address bar and the tabs will not go down as they normally do. How can I fix it?

I recently hooked another monitor to my laptop, that was when the problem occurred, but even after restarting Firefox * and * my computer, it did not always work. By collapse, I mean when you press F11, the open tabs and the address bar appear smaller, and then they slide up until what you don't see it (unless you mouse over). Please help me solve this =)

    Thank you!

You can right click on the tab bar or the Navigation bar mode full screen (F11) and make sure that "Hide toolbar" is enabled.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the start safe mode window or make changes.
  • On the Firefox screen, where is the black bar below the Navigation toolbar that alloweded of the specific research in 'Shopping', 'Images', 'Video', 'News', etc. Now, it appears only after a search.

If I remember correctly, old versions of Firefox had a black bar below the navigation bar on the opening screen that allowed specific searches for 'Images', 'News' 'Cards', 'Video', 'Shopping', etc.
Now this bar only appears when a search has been performed.
Is it possible to customize Firefox, so this appears on the logon screen.
The bar does not have a toolbar name.

Versions of Firefox 4 + use a new build-in home page named Subject: House with a Google search bar on this issue (no internet access required for the loading of this page).

What about: home page only shows a few clips and has a button to restore the previous session, as appropriate.

If you want a home with extras page, and then set a different page than the homepage like www.google.com as used in versions of Firefox 3 or on the iGoogle homepage ([www.google.com/ig]).

  • Is it possible to display an image full screen; in other words, how to switch all the toolbars - including the status bar and the task bar?

I found a few larger images (986 x 1024 and 2420 x 2514) I'd like to see on the entire screen. Is there a way to do this by enabling / disabling (then restore it later) of all toolbars - including the status bar and the task bar? Or is there an FF extension that will make perhaps even easier?

Press F11 or select "full screen" in the menu. (If there is still floating toolbars around after that, do a right-click on the toolbar and remove the checkbox.)

It might have something to do with a change that I did yesterday. I followed some instructions that said to go to TOOLS, then click on clear Cache. Now it isn't a bar on the top of my screen anymore to go back and click on 'tools' (or something else). I went into the Panel and did a 'point-to-point anterior restoration' (restore the computer to an earlier date) but it was not good. What can I do to recover things?

    Each time Firefox opened

    Hello Darryl.

It is possible that you have a problem with some Add on Firefox which is an obstacle to the normal behavior of your Firefox. Have you tried to disable all add-ons (just to see) to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you must make sure that it is not caused by one (or more) of your installed modules, whether an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do this easily and cleanly, start Firefox in safe mode (remember to select disable all add-ons when you start safe mode). If the problem goes away, you know that it's an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode and allow them one by one until you find the source of the problem. See this article for more information on troubleshooting extensions and theme and this one for plugins.

If you need help with one of your modules, you will need to contact the author.

  • How to restore the bar at the bottom of my screen that displays icons of the add-on?

Previously, the icons of the add-on modules (e.g., noscript, weather or reminders) were displayed at the bottom of my screen and I could click on them to run the corresponding function. Now, they are not displayed, and I don't know how to get back them. I am particularly interested to return noscript as I almost always use it, but I regularly consulted a large number of modules of the missing information bar now. I don't even know what we call this information/icon/display bar.

    == I don't know - an involuntary strike?

It is possible that the screen is too high and that the status bar and the scroll bar fall down.

Open the system menu via Alt + space and see if you can resize the window.
If it works, then close Firefox to save the setting.

On this virtual path, it is not possible to say with certainty what the problem is, but I assume that the display may be defective.

For testing purposes, you can connect external monitor to your laptop to see if everything is OK there.
Anyway, what you need to do is contact the closest service Toshiba and let check your laptop.
