• Assessment JavaFX: a few simple questions

  Hi all.
  
  I am to evaluate the possibility of migration of Swing to JavaFX development. I have a few simple questions, and simple answers will suffice.
  
  1 is mature enough to support all Project Professional JavaFX?
  
  2. JavaFX is a functional superset of Swing? I mean. Is capable enough to do any other thing that Swing can make JavaFX?
  
  3. is also well documented that the Swing JavaFX is? I mean especially the Swing tutorial and the Javadocs.
  
  4A JavaFX equivalent to "treeWillExpand" event? Also important in my case.
  
  5 a JavaFX frames internal for the development of MDI?
  
  6a JavaFX equivalent of JFormattedTextField? I use this component intensively for the validation of the data and formatting.
  
  7A the JavaFX AutoComplete text field component? Or is it difficult to develop a custom for this component?
  
  8. is it is possible to mix different styles of text (i.e. text color) in a text field component?
  
  9 is it difficult to create custom components and extend/decorate existing ones?
  
  10. is the beta for Linux mature enough to start trying? Can I use Netbeans with the current beta on Linux?

  I'll take a shot at answering them, some of them are probably better answered by one of the developers if:

  1. it seems stable and has a feature set large enough should allow you to create the lack of parts yourself

  2 JavaFX and Swing are unrelated to each other. JavaFX has its focus more on the provision of outstanding visual effects without trying to look the same as other applications on your platform. For example, control of JavaFX table doesn't have a built-in filter support and sort - it's something you can do yourself with appropriate templates.

  3. There are some examples out there already but no where near as many Swing. However, the Javadocs seem good enough, I could usually find what I wanted there.

  4 are not specifically, I think, but I'm sure that you should be able to veto over enlargement, by changing the State where you receive when a node is open or by consuming the appropriate event. Better write a small test for this program to see if you can do what you want - and if not, a feature to apply.

  5 I don't know well.

  6 No.

  7 there not. It is not too difficult to develop custom components.

  8. not directly I think, but a combination of FlowLayout + text objects must be able to do what you want.

  9. I developed some custom components, mainly by combining other components and that seems pretty easy. I don't know how you can change the functionality of a component exist (such as change the text field component in a text formatted field or who can use several colors; you will probably have to create your own skin for more delicate changes. Skin isn't very well documented.

  10. I do not know this.

• A few quick questions about the Satellite P300 - 18 M

  I am about to order a Satellite P300 - 18 M and have just a few questions about this:

  (Although these may apply for other similar Satellite/Equium P300.)

  Is the touchpad made by / to use the Alps or Synaptics driver?

  It has the Wireless N network card, is the map made by Intel or Realtec?

  And also, someone has experience with face recognition software to connect?

  If so, does it take a lot of time to initalise?

  The P300 - 18M belongs to the PSPCCE series.
  It uses the two touchpad drivers. Synaptics & Alps Electric
  There is an Intel 802.11agn minicards WLan installed

  The face recognition is a nice tool but local to be illuminated and you must take your face the right of the post sometimes it of not very easy

• A new owner & a few preliminary questions

  Finally, I cashed in some credit card rewards points and got myself something I would not have otherwise passed all the money on... a MP3 player, namely a 4 G Sansa Fuze - 'free '!  I look forward to receiving the product, and I'm glad I found this community. I've already started ripping my own CD collection and download audio books from the librivox.org.

  A few questions in the meantime - I have spotty internet connection at home, I have to take my laptop on the road to update firmware, etc. Should I load the software "firmware updater", or to update manually? (the update of the firmware will be * boring * if it does not find a internet connection the majority of the time?)  The lack of internet connectivity brings other problems, should I be aware of?

  I have no intention of paying for the music or books (did I mention I'm cheap?).  Is there a reason for me to load Rhapsody?

  I do not recommend the update, it will not panic with the net, but it's boring, so updated manual will serve you better. The absence of the internet shouldn't be a problem either when it comes to the player, but when it comes to your music, it can be. The "rocket" sails on Id3tags incorporated into the base files, they are often published using internet, so for this reason, I recommend that you make sure that you are connected and then let the program you use set the id3tags for songs. And no.... you must have rhapsody.

  A few questions:

  Are all the same windows installation disks?
  When I say the same thing, I mean if they are the same product, i'e two disks with Vista Basic on
  Is the product id part of them somehow?
  What's this number on the disc? or do I have reason to think that it is created by the installation and hardware on your laptop / pc
  You can use the same disc windows genuine to install the same copy of windows on two laptops, but by using laptops to separate the key product authentic?

  You cannot use a Dell disk on an HP machine

• BlackBerry Smartphones, please answer a few basic questions

  I went Saturday to buy my Blackberry Curve to US Cellular, but I guess I was expecting more big, so I ended up going with the Moto Q9c. WHAT A MISTAKE!  I hate this phone!  Can I Exchange my phone once within 30 days, but I'm afraid that since they are both smart phones that I'm not happy with the Blackberry and I will be stuck with it.  Then... someone who has the curve or the 8300 (?) (it's the largest) could you please answer a few questions for me?

  2. can you use songs downloaded in the media player as ringtones?

  3. When you acknowledge (read) to a text, that the judgment of your play (it is not on the MOTO Q)?

  1. If I made extension of VO and made customizing too on some pages. Even if we get an error. How to find out that we got the error and how to fix that?

  2. If we add 2 new columns to the page through the extension of the VO, then everything by customizing the page to create two new points to the table columns, what instance name of view we need to specify for items/columns newly created in Customizing, expanded Standard VO or OV name? and why?

  Could not set the property to processFormRequest. As I mentioned before, you have 2 options.

  1 true/false value declaratively or in PR

  2 attach an attribute of the VO property Render/people with reduced mobility.

  If this isn't the case, PPR, another page submit event must occur for this is reflected.

• A few additional questions

  I have 4 questions

  I was wondering what NIC everyone uses for their desktop from view? My current environment from the view was installed by someone else and they are using the Flexible adapter. All our guests are vSphere 4.1, so I guess that the e1000 would be the best choice, possibly the vmxnet3? What is the best option? I intend to upgrade our license to the Prime Minister and the installation of composer program, don't know if that makes a difference

  What thought everyone on the view upgrade 4.5 to 4.6 view? I currently don't use a server security, we use SSL VPN to grant access to remote view desktop computers, but can optionally implement a security server. I'm just curious to know if there are benefits to upgrading to view 4.6 before installing the composer.

  For Parent virtual machine, you guys/ladies use thick or thin provisioning?

  My last question is, I intend to set up some XM and Win 7 (32 bit) desktop computers, I intend to give the XP 1 GB of ram and Win 7 2 GB. The file page, in the view documentation, it is said to make the page the same as the amount of physical ram of the file, but I read items and items online, where most people put the pagefile as 512 MB?

  1: I use the vmxnet3 where possible

  2: since versions use two different versions of the composer I would switch to view 4.6 and then configure composer.

  3: I use a provisioning and then replicas are thin provided by default

  4: I think that everything which works best for you that the pagefile is conerned.   Some things make sure that the page file anything, so it's always nice to have a few available.    Maybe stick to what the documentation recommends, monitor use and then determine if you can drop down.

• AppleTV troubleshooting Question: I can connect to ITunes, but cannot sign in ICloud. Any suggestions?

  I tried to restart, tried unplugging the unit for a few minutes and commissioning, try a full restore. Nothing solves the problem.

  Curiously, I can connect to my ITunes account successfully each time.

  What version of ATV do you use? This is crucial because they are all running different software.

  Try your Apple of a browser logging and disabling two-step verification ID. Then your login the ATV and restore in two steps.

• A few newbie questions

  Ok, I am a fanboy of Adobe, Photoshop/Illustrator ACE but I'm a video / graphic guy My employer is about 'apps' that they average / envy = applications that run on all smartphones modern and major players in the Tablet world. I had a divorce with writing code about 4 years ago (we all have two happy summer separated from eachother) but it feels like I will be together soon.

  Looking for some quick info to get used to the speed (note that I Master Collection CS5.5):

  1. Type of code: Action Script 3 ? HTML? Or lazy build in Flash?
  2. We would start Flash or Flex SDK?
  3. Currently, they want to read on an iPad... then tomorrow a Playbook... but always on an iPhone and EVO... is it something to be considered early in the process?

  I realize, these are newbie questions VERY and it's a long way to follow, thank you for contributing to the trip!

  I think it depends on type of content/content/deployment.

  If it's only video content to be played in standalone or web apps that look like native and support wide range of devices - then your suite already comes with Dreamweaver 5.5 - who has for example jQuery Mobile for web based application development/deployment and PhoneGab for native-app - all code development with html/javascript and two of them takes charge of video content.

  With Flash CS5.5 you get timeline based development and authoring tools - but nothing in the simplified UI that comes with the spark in Flash Builder (Flex SDK). Outputs the CS5.5 Flash and Flash Builder 4.5 using the same development tools Adobe Air (more to read on the page of software development given).

  Oh: web development with Dreamweaver and jQM does not require App Store submission process required otherwise for the content generated with Flash CS/Flash Builder or with PhoneGap in DreamWeaver.

• A few different questions with Satellite A80 116

  Hello

  I'm having strange problems with my recently bought A80 - 116. I bought this computer in Germany a month ago, and problems seem to be showed up quickly after I received it.
  1. when the computer begins to start suddenly just for some reason, the hard drive light flashes and in light of the end, just burn for a long time. The system also is not responding to Ctrl-Alt-Delete. Then I push the power button for a long time, turn off the system. After this system tries to start almost in the same way, but Toshiba welcome screen disappeared and then spring Marvell Yukon bios messages that say that certain errors occur, and I need to check the cable.
  2. when I turned off quick boot in the BIOS, messages about control memory appeared, and stopped just before messages about hard drive found. Message on the hard drive is sometimes present, after starting this system.
  Often, this problem appeared when recharging from a State of hibernation system.
  3. the system often does not recharge after sleep. It seems that the system is hang-ups or blue screen.

  My suggestions were that the problem may be in the old BIOS 1.50, but I upgraded to 1.70 and steel of problem persists.
  Another suggestion is that some problems may be in drive hard or network card.
  I'm waiting for practical assistance.

  I think you have a problem with your hard drive and you should contact the service.

  The errors you get from Marvell Yukon - which is the network card - is just the information that the PC has attempted to boot from LAN, but he can't do it because maybe the most basic check - the one that a netcable is connected - failed. Don't think too much about now because it is not very related to your problem more that it shows that the PC has try devices more bootable can indicate hard disk problems.

  I spend more time trying to locate the problem, everything you describe was told there is an intermittent problem with the hard drive.

  6 - it simply means the total maximum of the normal speed of your processors. With level of speed, economy of energy and everything else off, you should always read the 100%. If you have the ability to record on your laptop, in virtue, clocks your CPU compared to the speed of stock, it will earn you a lower percentage. If you have turbo boost or similar, it will earn you a higher percentage. So, again, it is the current maximum percentage that your processor can run currently comparing its normal speed reported. I'm not 100% sure, but my guess is that if you overclock, the overclocked amount would be the speed of 'base' for Windows and overclocking of 20% would not show a maximum rate of 120% - it's just guessing, I have no way to test.
