• Shared codebase for both mobile and web applications?

  I have developed a mobile application for a while now. It works on iOS and Android, as well as on the desktop as an AIR application. That's great and I'm very excited about it. However, last week asked me why I could not export a version of the application that had occurred within a web browser. I said that I assumed I could and I'd look into it.

  But why would you want to run mobile code on the desktop?

  Two reasons:

  • A greater code reuse. This is not sensible in all cases, but it does in many case. (I will not elaborate because I think that this goes without saying.) If you do not agree I'd be happy to talk but I would rather not clog this description with it).
  • Demos of client quick or easy. Rather than having to install an apk or an ipa on a mobile device, I can just send a URL.

  So what I found? Well, from what I've tried so far... He... does not work. Or rather, I was not able to make it work.

  I started by creating a Flex library for all shared code project. Then I created 2 application projects referring to a TI - one mobile and one for the web. The mobile project works very well, but the web project does not work. Here is what I tried so far to make it work:

  • I tried to add mobilecomponents.swc and mobile.swc to my web project theme that Flash Builder knows MobileSkin (and other mobile classes only). This allows my application to compile, but when I run it immediately throws a runtime within UIComponent error: VerifyError: Error #1014: flash. text::StageText of the class could not be found. I have found very little on this errorand the one tip that I found (addition of the -swf-version = 13 the compiler option) does not work.

  • I tried to use conditional compilation to control which my skin inherited from the class components: MobileSkin or SparkSkin. It was just a quick experiment to see if it worked. I know it's disgusting and not a production solution. However, my thought was that if MobileSkin was really just an optimized version of SparkSkin, my skins should be correct inheriting from either. It worked not far-app wouldn't compile b ' c right some methods were absent (e.g. layoutContents) and so I bailed out on it because she felt dirty first.

  • I tried to replace MobileSkin with UIComponent as the super class for all my skins thinking MobileSkin was probably just a lightweight subclass of UIComponent anyway. This approach resulted in the compiler errors first (e.g. no method of layoutContents measuredDefaultWidth/measuredDefaultHeight properties, addChild vs addElement, etc.). Once these issues have been resolved in the updated app, but crashed with errors of execution within the method 'getState' of UIComponent. (Resembles MobileSkin overrides this method to prevent the default behavior of UIComponent.)

  If none of these approaches worked for me so far... but what for you guys? I have no hope Adobe reading this thread or respond in some way, but I'd like to hear from others in the community. Have you encountered this problem yet? Have you been able to make it work or can you spot any obvious omissions that I made in the methods I mentioned above by train? Thanks in advance if you can.

  Update: I was able to make progress with the first route above: added mobilecomponents.swc and mobile.swc for my web project theme

  It turns out that this Flash Builder, had brought me wrong in that regard. Adding mobile SWCs to your library with the parameter "merged into code" project translates the compiler warning:

  The swc "/ Applications/Adobe Flash Builder 4.6/sdks/4.6.0/frameworks/themes/Mobile/mobile.swc ' a default style and is located in the path of the library, i.e. the dependencies will be linked in without styles.  This can cause applications that use the swc output to have lack of skins.  The EFA should be implemented with external-library-path.

  Seeing this the first time, I changed my link on "External" type and warning went off. Then in my project web, I also added the mobile SWCs and set the type to link on "merged into code" it. Flash Builder seemed happy with that approach, but when running my application I had weird errors (as mentioned above).

  It turns out that my first attempt was the right way. Set the type of link on the library to "merged into code" project and then do not add a link to your web project. Flash Builder will warn you in this topic but ignore the warning. Things seem to work pretty well most of the time now! I have a question or two to watch (ex. list component doesn't scroll) but things look pretty promising overall!

• Direction of scrolling for mobile and tablet of switching

  I am creating a web page with horizontal scrolling, but with the sense of vertical scrolling of the mouse. It now dawned on me only for use on mobile phones and tablet users will not be able to access the site by using the vertical scroll. Is it possible to go scrolling when on mobile phones and tablets without changing the whole layout.

• Double the work for mobile and Desktop? Should I only design for Mobile now?

  I have been using Muse for more than a year, roughly as it was released. I may have missed something, but I have a website that needs to be updated every day, the only problem is that I constantly have to create double pages, one mobile and one for the office. It starts to become a bit tedious, Muse used to copy all content automatically for you when you created a new page in the mobile. It wasn't perfect, but it was easy and convenient. Not so much more...

  Am I missing something? Is there a way easier to desktop and mobile, without having to create the new page on desktop, and then create the new page in the mobile? Im doing double work now that google has implemented it for all sites.

  Creating layout desk phone will copy the structures of page, bottom of page, not the content of the page.

  You must create the content of the pages or copy the contents of the page to page phone desktop.

• I want to create a new document in Illustrator that I can use for Print and Web - using 2 different colourspaces.

  Is it possible to do?  I need to create a document so that I can export under a high quality CMYK to print and export the same file in RGB jpeg / pdf for web and e-mail use.  What I do need to create the document with 2 different colourspaces, or can I edit / convert the colourspace after that I created and finished the document?  or is it possible simply to select a RGB / CMYK option during export record?

  The best way is to creat and finish the document CMYK for printing, and then save a copy (or avoid something similar and safe save them on the original of the document CMYK) and turn that into a separate RGB for the web and other document.

• Reader/Acrobat DC for mobile and LiveCycle Forms

  Why doesn't DC Reader/Acrobat to open LiveCycle Forms produce mobile (iPad version) and is there an intention any to remedy this major omission? It seems incredible that the reader cannot open a document PDF produced by one of own Adobe products, especially when the Mac version of office the player can perform this task.  Also, I have Acrobat Pro XI but seem not to be able to use it to convert the LiveCycle document a version of the portable player capable of handling. All your comments/opinions would be appreciated.

• Photosmart HP 6510 will not print black text of emails but ok for photos and web pages

  Suddenly, it stopped printing black text of emails but prints black on web pages and images. I renewed the HP black cartridge and downloaded the HP PHOTOSMART FULL FEATURE AND DRIVERS SOFTWARE today and the problem persists.

  When I print QUALITY REPORT printing any black ink level is shown, but black media are there. very strange.

  Can I please ask your help to fix this annoying problem for me.

  Both could be "collision" in that they are both trying to access the mail server at the same time.  Make sure that they do not check too often.  Try to disable a device when checking with each other and see if that makes a difference.  Also with WinMail, if you have a POP3 account, make sure that under Tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced that you have configured to leave a copy of messages on the server, so the phone can bring too, that normally it will delete messages on the server when it downloads.

  Unfortunately, you cannot change the format of an existing folio. I think that at this point, your best bet is to create a new custom folio of 1028 x 771. Because this folio has the same 4:3 1024 x 768 dimensions, you can add or import all of your source documents in this new folio without having to change the source folios.

  I have three different reasons to use Collections for a photoshoot:

  1. Collect the photos in order to work with them
  2. Synchronize photos from Lightroom Lightroom desktop application mobile and web apps
  3. Share your photos online

  I find the way the more convenient to have is a unique Collection for all these purposes, rather than having a separate Collection for each. Currently, it is not possible to select individual photos for synchronization (you must select the Collection to sync all) but you do not have the possibility to share only photos marked as peaks (and to allow the download). However, you have this option only on the Lightroom Web, not on the desktop and not on mobile. It is really heavy and confused, same as Lightroom Web cannot be used with a mobile browser, so in practice, you can only set of photos to share with the help of a desktop browser.

• Change the news, layouts of web apps for mobile site?

  I edit an existing Web site to create a mobile version, placing my mobile pages in a subfolder /mobile. I'm having a problem with web applications and news, I've already named my templates and layouts for the full desktop version, and because my webapp and News Articles may not be placed in the my /mobile folder. So, now I need to post this information differently for mobile and cannot understand how, given that I am limited to a presentation of single list and a presentation of detail (for the news. At least the web applications give me a backup list layout, which was useful). How others have done this kind of thing?

  An example: on the version of my office, I have ads displayed on the home page as short texts of presentation (using the list view). My detail view I have already formatted for the desktop version of full screen and doesn't work well for mobile screens. After several attempts of workarounds, I decided that I just show the full announcement for mobile as a layout from the list and not use a detailed at all while I don't even bother with it. My thought was to encode both my list of office and mobile page layouts in the list layout of my ads module and use css to display / hide the appropriate one.

  The css works fine, however, my mobile site instead of the next event date rendering, it actually made the tag "{tag_eventfromdate}".  So, apparently I can't have multiple instances of a tag within a single page?  Is there a way to get around this?

  You can make as many list templates you want now.
  You can have a different model by camera - phone, Tablet, desktop so if modules are in this model that they will then make these different models and so different layouts.
