Hello!

Put Skype updated itself this morning and now when I play games the game music comes out of my speakers but the Skype call is through my helmet, but I want both of you to get out of my helmet. I tried to change the audiosettings but it didn't work. Anyone know what to do?

(And sorry if my English is not the biggest, I'm not a native speaker).

HP Pavilion dv9310us Notebook PC/1.0 GB Ram/Windows Vista Home Premium with SP2 installed / processor is AMD Turion 64 x 2 Mobile Technology TL-52 / no changes to the factory configuration

    Lights Out requires:
    OS: Windows 98/ME/2000/XP
CPU: Pentium III 450 MHz or better
RAM: 128 MB RAM (256 recommended)
CD-ROM: 24 x CD-ROM Drive (or DVD of PC drive)
Video: SVGA card graphics or better
Sound: DirectX 9 Compatible Sound card

Once I insert the disc in the drive, it starts to "work".  I disabled autorun because he was suspended when I inserted a disc.  So I open the folder on your computer and select the game and right click on "explore".  I then on the installation icon.  1.5 hours later, he finally asked me if I wanted to install the program (I've also implemented so need my permission before installing anything).  It's now 45 minutes (and still waiting) since he asked my permission to install the program, but if I didn't I had a program tried to install, I don't know.  In other words without box "Progress" or installation.

Maybe I'm just too wait for Vista because this game was not "written" specifically for it?  Hell, more than an hour just to get to the point where he asks me if I want to install the program?  It seems to me that something is wrong somewhere.  Unfortunately I'm not well informed enough to understand.

I tried defrag and 'cleansing' of the disk (C: drive, not the CD). I have even 50 GB free on a 100 GB drive, and there should be a lot of RAM.  Also, when I run the Task Manager, it shows the reader DVD RW as 'running', not 'does not.

I * think * something is wrong somewhere in Vista, since the problem began with autorun hung when I inserted an installation disc.

I would really appreciate any advice that anyone can have.  It's just not good.

I was "Baby sitting" installation.  No dialog boxes have gone unnoticed.  I had the same problem with another game by the same company last night.  This game has been 'Dark Fall'.  As long that I left him alone, he finally got the game installed, but it took a lifetime to do.  I don't know if the problem is specific to this company or not.  I installed the last week several games download section of Amazon and Big Fish game, which none have given me no problem.  But they were all downloads, then these 2 games is basic disk.  Once Dark Fall WAS installed it worked fine.

    Thank you.  :)

    distantsmoke,
According to the Windows Vista Compatibility Center this game is not compatible with Vista.  You can try to right click on the Setup file and run in XP compatibility.  If this does not help, then you should contact the game manufacturer for any updates\patches that would make it works with Vista.    Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • Satellite M50-130: no sound from speakers but helmet works well

    Hello

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite with Harmon/Kardon speakers, using the Realtek AC97 Audio sound card. For some reason there is no sound coming out of laptop speakers, but when I connect earphones I get the sound perfectly fine, if clearly is not a volume control number. Device Manager indicates that the sound card works fine.

I tried the system restore, and it does not work. Can someone help me please?

    Thank you! :)

What s the name of the laptop?

Looks a bit like a problem with the speakers for laptop
The graphics card and the audio driver works very well if the sound is coming through the headphones.

In this case, the technician should be contacted because everything looks like a hardware problem.

    Good luck

I play world of warcraft and use a program called ventrilo to talk with other players. the problem I have is my game sounds can be heard.
Vista makes my headphones 'speakers', so when I use a program called ventrilo to talk with other players in my game sounds are heard through ventrilo. My headset is a headset/microphone generic plug-and-play.

When I run not WoW, I can hear my own voice through the headset speakers when I talk.

I want my headphones to work so I can hear my friends talking and the sounds of the game, but I don't want the game sounds to be filtered on the server for voice chat

    Hey CassiusVa,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers Forum!

Since when are you facing the issue?

Can I know the version of Ventrilo you use on your computer?

It may be that World of Warcraft focuses on your audio hardware.  You can try to reduce the audio settings in WoW to see if this makes the use of Ventrilo better.  It may also be a driver problem.  I would check to make sure that you have the latest drivers for your audio device.

Use the following steps to ensure that the audio drivers are up to date.

    1. connect to the Internet.

    2. click on start and enter the Device Manager in the start search field.

    3. click on the plus sign next to sound, video and game controllers.

    4. right click on the name of the sound material and select software update of the driver...

    5. click on search automatically for a driver updated and wait for Windows to update the driver software.

6 Windows checks a remote Web site to see if the update of the driver software is available.

    * If an update is available, let Windows install the update.

    * If an update is not available, proceed to the next step.

    7. once the update is successfully installed, test the microphone.

Please follow the steps below and check if you still have questions echo.

Go into Ventrilo Setup and select mixer for the sound card, which will be the audio input (as determined by the "Input device" option) device. This will populate the Mux and line options. Normally it would take only a Mux. It is possible that you may have many options of the line. Go ahead and select "Microphone" or anything that is appropriate for the input line and then click OK.

    This should solve the problem.

Please note that you select mixer, mux and line will allow the "Hardware Volume" slider This gives you the control hardware on the audio input signal and is the best way to control how strong you are. Setting the cursor to halfway better seems to work for most people, but it will be hardware and system load.

You can also browse the links for more information on ventrilo and try to contact them if the problem persists.

  • Sounds come out of my helmet all the

Okay, so I recently had a new Inspiron 660 and everything was going so well... until I went on YouTube. No sound came out at all, I quickly realized that I didn't have same speakers hooked up to it (brain PET), so for a quick fix, I went to retrieve my headphones. I plugged them into my computer, and what I was rewarded with? Nothing. So far I have not been able to get any sound out. Nothing appears when I plug in the headphones and the 'Sound' section there's no help whatsoever. I tried several different sets of headphones and headsets. Nothing has worked so far, I tried plugging in a couple speakers another phone to see if I could make it work there and still nothing. Please help, what I extremely annoying and all comments are welcome. Even if you have no idea what you're talking about, but have an idea, share it. Because I really need the help. Thank you!

I understood the problem for me in any case, that maybe it's not the problem for you. In any case, on the back of my monitor is a headphone jack and it turns, the office tries to use it as a default output for the sound. So, here's where I put my headphones for a sound to come out. To get a sound for the fate of the external speakers connected directly to the audio output jack of computers, you must then unplug the headphones to the audio monitor out taken, to the original output must be disconnected for a new use. Hope this helps and sorry if it's not!

  • Whenever I start a call all the sound through speakers instead of headphones...

Unless I go to Tools>Options>Audio Settings>speakers>Communications helmet I will be able to hear Skype with ordinary headphones only. Unfortunately, all other sounds such as games and Youtube videos are through speakers.

My laptop is a HP Pavilion dm4 3055dx, I bought last year so it is still in good condition.

I tried to change the Settings Audio>speakers>speakers and headphones , but that has not worked. This problem occurs yesterday after Skype update.

Furthermore, I checked my laptop for updates, and everything is updated. I uninstalled and reinstalled Skype. The problem still occurs.

I made a mistake. Laughing out loud

Here's how I found the solution:

I right click on the audio icon in the taskbar next to my time. I went to "Playback devices" then I saw 'Speakers and headphones' and 'helmet of Communication '. I clicked on 'Speakers and headphones' then I clicked "Set as default". I left it like this:

  • I can't hear you tube videos or sounds in the game.

    Hello
I use a new computer. Entry door. Windows 7. I use Teamspeak 3 and I try to play you tube videos or a game. I can hear my friends on Teamspeak 3 but can not hear the video or music / sounds of the game.

Please help me if you can. My computer knowledge is above average, but not anywhere near enough to isolate this problem on mine.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello
Welcome to the Microsoft answers site

(A). I suggest you to run the audio troubleshooter. Check out this link.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-playing-audio-Troubleshooter

    B. check your audio settings in the game to make sure that the sounds are turned on and that the cursor is high enough so that you can hear them.

    C. check the meter of volume on the value max/reactivate the sound plugin window?
Increase the volume on your speakers.
Activate/reactivate the sound upward the audio volume level? (speaker on the taskbar icon)
See if you have set your audio device by default:
    1. start
    2 Control Panel
    3 sounds and Audio devices
    4. audio
    5. Select your audio source by default (acoustic/adapter card your speakers are currently connected)
For example, C-Media wave, Realtek device driver audio etc.
    6. check the box "Use only default Devices", and then click OK

    D. reactivate all audio sources
    1. go in Control Panel.
    2 sounds and Audio devices
    3. in the 'Volume' tab, click on "Advanced" in the section "the Unit Volume."
4 try not silent all audio sources, if none of them are dumb.

    It may be useful

  • Satellite P100-238: stuttering graphics and sound with the game

    Hello

A few days ago, I bought a P100-238 both for business and holiday makers with leisure activities include mainly games, I thought this would be a great opportunity to take the next level and buy something powerful with Vista on board... IM starting to think ive made a big mistake. First impressions of the laptop were great (and vista although it is a little welfare State is very good).

The problems started when I installed a few games (Please take into account, it is a system of 4 GB with 2 gig of ram and a Geforce 7900 gs graphics card, it should theoretically be ideal). The first few games I tried was wonderful... If you stopped, but as soon as you moved (in the game) about every 3 seconds the games would stutter to stop, then start again... every 3 seconds. Okay, I need the drivers, so I jumped on nvidia and tried installing different drivers to see none to work with laptops. In fact whenever I tried to install I got the message that or the other driver is up-to-date or that I'm «not equipped for vista» Anyway to cut a long story short, I discovered www.laptopvideo2go.com when I discovered that Nvidia does not support drivers for laptops (even once cut a long and painful story short) so I used it recommended modded INF files as well as various pilots until the later. Unfortunately I still had the same problem, someone recommended it can become again the sound driver so I tried that no different.

After further investigation on various forums, it seems im not the only person who knows these probems. On these boards, I noticed that someone had the sound and graphics too jerky and sent it for repair to have the CPU, motherboard, ram etc replaced until they found the error on the HARD drive and once replacement he was fine.

Using this info and finally think I had put inside of it I took my laptop to the store and he was replacing, ultimately reinstalling everything and lift a game and running... guess what... still the same.
    This is totally unacceptable.
How do you market a product as games and entertainment laptop when she's obviously serious faults preventing these activities.

Anyone here have the solution? Also, I should mention that this problem persists when the resolution and graphic details fell to a minimum in the game.

    Thank you
    Darren

It's not a hardware problem or a laptop, but Windows Vista!
Check out the other discussions in forum games on Vista performance with games!
Some people have installed XP and it s running like in a dream!

It seems that we have to wait for a first Microsoft Vista SP1 or certain patches.
Maybe then the Vista will be more compatible with all these games on the market!

  • Mahjong Titans was "Falling Tiles" Sound at the beginning of the game

After having upgraded from Vista 64 for Win7 64, I noticed that the sound "falling tiles" at the opening of the games of Mahjong Titans is now really bad quality.  All other sounds in the game are very well (even under Vista 64).  I was wondering if there is an audio file that is corrupted in the version of Win 7?

  • No dual channel sound of in the game objects

That's the problem I have - I played only a few games because I installed Windows 7, a few weeks ago, Fallout 3, Borderlands, and Just Cause 2. This happens in the fps but not Just Cause 2. I don't hear any of the two audio channels of all objects in the game. Instead, it is only mono. I mean the whole dialogue music of cut scenes, all sounds coming from my own hardware and the user interface and what is supposed still to come through two speakers. Everything that is supposed to come from a certain place in the environment I don't hear two speakers, one at a time. This would include gunshots, people talking, opening boxes, cries of monsters, etc...

For example, at the beginning of the game, a robot speaks for me. If I aim directly at her mouth, I can make her voice disappear completely. If I aim to his arm or shoulder I can warm up his voice slightly and if I turn around and facing 90 degrees to the left or right, I can hear his voice the loudest, but I can hear his voice of one speaker at a time. My cross is closest to 90 degrees so hard his voice gets and then if I look like away from him, that his voice is softer.
I downloaded the latest driver for my Sound Blaster Audigy SE, on the site Creative and when I installed it it says that I have a newer driver. That did not stop the installation, so I advanced and installed the drivers. I rebooted and that has not changed anything. It's my first time using Windows 7 and I had to work on a good few other bugs so far.

I solved the problem. for some reason any the defaul setting for my sound card in windows 7 was 7.1, but I have onlt have 2 speakers.

  • Need drivers for the game controller, Microsoft sounds and videos

I did something crazy. While trying to remove any driver annoying inderteminant that prevented my midi interface to work, I deleted all the Microsoft Sound, video and drivers game in my device manager controller, thinking that I would like to get them back to a reboot. That's how it usually works, it is not. Boy was I fooled. Restore the system to an earlier date no longer works. I guess I have to somehow download the drivers and reinstall them if I understand where to buy and how to install them. Does anyone know how to get back them. And put them in. I have windows 7 with SP1 on a HP Pavilion model p6 - c 2037.

The 6 drivers that I deleted were as follows:

    1, Microsoft Streaming Clock Proxy,

2, Microsoft streaming quality Manager Proxy,

    3, Microsoft Streaming Service Proxy,

    4, Microsoft Streaming Tee/receiver-to-Sink Converter,

5, Microsoft Streaming Tee/receiver-to-Sink Converter, (no, this isn't a typo in that it listed twice)

  • Speakers stopped working after changing the device sound card

    * Original title: switched to hi-speed of dial-up, speakers stopped working / / rev. #2 Can I change the title of: speakers stopped working after changing the device sound card

I have a Motorola SM56 speakerphone modem, I went from dial-up to the Road Runner.   When I open Device Manager and expand the sound column it lists "High definition Audio Device" (manufacturer of Microsoft), there are 4 that say "NVIDIA High Definition Audio" then there is one that says "Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device.  When I open the properties of the Unimodem device it says ' device working properly. "

Let me start at the top under "General".  It lists the name of the device: Unimodem half-duplex Audio device.    Device type: audio, video and game controllers;    Manufacturer: Microsoft;    Location: Motorola SM56 Speakerphone modem.

My speakers worked very well before I went.   I tried updating the driver but he came back with "best driver already installed.  It is a desktop PC, it is about 6 years old, but has been revised, graphics card new, updated to power, new 4 GB ram I think.  The hard drive is 1 TB.   I'm running Windows 7 Pro.  I forgot to mention, if I open a WMV file and volume in the taskbar commands, I see the green light moving.  The green light on the actual speakers turned on, just no sound.  It seems to me that the old speakers do not like the new modem from Time Warner. (I'm an old lady, what the devil I know)

It is a question of another driver, or is it something else?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are plug you the speakers into the modem?

They must be connected in making your computer speaker, usually a light green color (read the manual of the machine). Go to control panel / sounds / playback and make sure that the type of speakers you selected as the default device.
Audio device drivers updated its better to not use MS Update (it is not). Re-post giving your machine make name and exact model number (for example HP, Inspiron, ABC1234 etc.).
    See you soon,.
