  • After download of Internet Explorer 8 I can't open all the icons in the control panel. On display is come information that Windows cannot find 'C\WINDOWS\system32\rundll.32.exe '.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

Yesterday, I downloaded Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 web from Microsoft Download Center.

After downloading Microsoft Internet Explorer 8, I can't open any icons in the control panel.

On display is come information that Windows cannot find 'C\WINDOWS\system32\rundll.32.exe '.

    Help, please. Thanks Gene.

    Thanks Gene.

    Dear: :

Running sfc/scannow will not replace the missing rundll32.exe file.

Why you post methods that do not work and will be just wasting time?

Hove you never even seen this problem before, tried to recreate it so that you can actually see, or have you never really fixed?

Why you learn not what sfc/scannow does and does not do?

Here is a simple test to you and all your colleagues in the technical support engineer:

Rename or delete just your c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe file is "missing".

    Rename rundll32.exe---> rundll32.xxx

If you started normally, before you can blink, the 'missing' rundll32.exe file quickly and quietly replace the copy in the dllcache folder.  It is the Protection of Windows file in action and you will see something like this in the Event Viewer log system:

    Event type: Information
    Event source: Windows File Protection
    Event category: no
    Event ID: 64002
    Description:
File replacement was attempted on the protected system file c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe. This file was restored to the original version to maintain system stability. The file version of the system file is 5.1.2600.5512.

I beg you to perform this simple test to know how the sfc/scannow:

Boot your system to Safe Mode or the recovery for the Windows File Protection Console does not run.

For this example, we will use the system critical file rundll32.exe.

Rename or delete your c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe.exe file so the file is now "missing."

A critical file, is it true?  It is on the list of the file 3498 knows the Protection of Windows and SFC files, but now he isn't.

If Windows File Protection is running, the "missing" file would be quickly and silently replaced (try to rename or delete it in normal mode and it will be quickly and quietly replaced).

Now, with your file rundll32.exe missing, start in Normal mode and try to use something like control panel to open something like Power Options and you'll see that familiar message:

    Control Panel
Windows cannot find 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe '.  Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click search.

Now you have recreated a common problem with the missing file and seen the error of our own eyes.  A Microsoft Support Engineer will usually suggest running sfc/scannow for this kind of problem, but it will not work or help and you can prove it to yourself, and now you have reproduced the error.

You follow own advice and run sfc/scannow to the end.

The rundll32.exe is always had disappeared, right?  Did run sfc/scannow replace the missing critical system file?

How can he be so sfc/scannow is supposed to replace the missing system files?  This is because it is not this that sfc/scannow does.

Now you know sfc/scannow does not.  He did not replace your missing system file (don't forget to put your rundll32.exe back so you will have a).

Now, go to c:\windows\system32\dllcache and delete or rename the file rundll32.exe from there - and it will be gone and not replaced automatically because the Windows File Protection does not seem after this record.

    Run sfc/scannow in full again.

Replace the file rundll32.exe missing in the dllcache folder, since it handles missing files (not the system32 folder) IS the folder that sfc/scannow.

    Now you know sfc/scannow does.

Do you need help to know too much about the corrupt system files?

Since most people do not have a genuine XP bootable installation CD, they will not be able to develop a copy of the file that is missing from the installation CD, they have not.

After some directions on how to replace the file when the user has no XP bootable installation CD authentic and that will be useful to all.

If you don't know how to say "I don't know how" and I'll help you.

You want to inform/warn the poster that SP3 is installed that running sfc/scannow will take a long time for the installation of SP3 CD?

If you do not have a CD with the same Service Pack as your installation (most people don't), the posters are in for a rough and frustrating time.

Of course this will help with the detachment of the Ministry of Education of the impossible to try things that don't work, but I thought I'd throw it out there for the 100th time.

  • How can I get rid of what looks like a soccer ball on the screen?

When I move the cursor upwards or downwards, a small icon that looks like a soccer ball that appears on the screen and its function is to scroll the screen at lightning speed. It brings me to tears. How can I get rid of him?

I'm terribly sorry. This problem was not the work of Windows, but it is rather a problem of Mozilla Firefox. The small circle with a dot in the middle (it looks like a ball of soccer at first glance) is because of the "scroll" of Firefox feature. If you are in a browser window and you move the wheel mouse this little circle appears and before you can blink, you are at the top or bottom of the page. Very annoying.

In any case, for those who have this problem: in the Firefox browser, click on tools, Options, advanced options, and under navigation, clear "use autoscrolling".

I am amazed at your technical skills, and we really appreciate your relationship with HP. We greatly appreciate you for doing business with HP and consider a privilege to share this platform with you.

For greater clarity, I would need more information to isolate the problem to be hardware or software related.

Other devices connect without hassle to the same network?

After restarting the printer without any communication with other devices, you get this error message, or it goes back to the home screen?

Is it possible for you to try this printer on a different network?

We will first do a hard reset: as follows:

    • Turn on the printer.
    • Wait until the printer is idle and silent before continuing.
    • Unplug the USB cable to the back of the printer. If your printer has a network or a wireless connection, leave it connected.
    • Remove the cartridges from the printer.
    • With the printer, unplug the power cord at the back of the printer and the wall outlet or power strip.
    • Wait at least 60 seconds.
    • Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
    • NOTE:
    • HP recommends connecting the power cord printer directly to a wall outlet.
    • Reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer.
    • Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
    • The printer may go through a warm-up period. The printer lights can blink, and transportation could move.
    • Wait until the warm-up period ends and that your printer is idle and silent before continuing.
    • Reinsert the ink cartridges, and then close the ink cartridge access door.
    • Then try to connect to the network and check if it works.

Do you get the BSOD during the BIOS update procedure?

  • ObjectListField, with the help of needed managers

Hey guys, so this is what I have:

I have a screen that adds a VerticalFieldManager which adds an ObjectFieldList where the elements are managers. each Manager has a BitmapField and 3 LabelFields (can change to RichTextFields, I doubt that it changes anything however).

now, the result of adding this just ObjectListField gives me lines of '. com.rim.packages'package_name ".". " "Manager_name'" instead of view manager itself

I don't know if I have to manually draw the frames with the function drawListRow or I am doing something wrong

any help, suggestions, comments are much appreciated!

ObjectListField is a convinience ListField, who can take any list objects and provides basic drawing functionality. The text to be included must come from the toString() method of the object.

So what you're trying to do, will not work with the ObjectListField.

You should take a look in the knowledge base and research for an article titled something like "how to implement the interface user advanced". That comes with a lot of fields to improve and code of field managers.

  • There is a frequent flashing above my toolbar, and sometimes a blinking black box appears on my Yahoo News. How can I stop? b

There is a flashing light on my toolbar, and sometimes a blinking black box appears on Yahoo News. I tried to reset Firefox and that has not worked. Then, I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and I still have the seizure inducing flashing lights.

When I go to Internet Explorer, I don't have this problem. Please help me because I don't want to go back to IE.
    Thank you

In the case where this is caused by 33 incompatible Firefox with your software driver graphics card/chipset, could test you for a while in Mode without failure of Firefox? It is a standard diagnostic tool to disable extensions, hardware acceleration, and a few other advanced features of Firefox. More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

You can restart Firefox in Mode safe mode using either:

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > restart with disabled modules
    • Help menu > restart with disabled modules

Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still works

After stops in Firefox, a small dialog box should appear. Click on 'Start mode safe' (not reset).

    Any difference?

You can disable hardware acceleration for all modes in the Options dialog box.

"3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Options > advanced

In the mini ' General' tab, uncheck the box for "use hardware acceleration when available.

This takes effect the next time you exit Firefox and start it again.

  • as I am sensitive to flashing images can I turn off blinking animations

Blink quickly affect images me and it worries me that some may cause seizures, I can turn off the flash animations? It would be useful for sensitive people.

For example my email page email providers had Jackpot.com ads with flashing quickly images that are bordering on the subliminal, other advertisers make this type of ad, so they would not be allowed on TV because of the risk so he could give Firefox users if they could turn the animations flash with an on/off switch.

This isn't for lack of Firefoxes somehow, I install Firefox on all my computers, because it surpasses everything else I've tried.

Install Adblock Plus from here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/

Subscribe to the "Easylist" when you see the menu and then go to the list of subscriptions: http://adblockplus.org/en/subscriptions

  • Qosmio G10-166 - the cursor blink, but I can't do anything

I received a G10-166 with a broken power connector. The laptop had no disks or a battery, I made a temporary solution and the portable lights only problem is that after the load screen where its Qosmio, then said to the screen where the icons are the following has letters everywhere. I can see the cursor blinking, but I can't do anything with it.

I tried to access the page of the BIOS pressing F1 but nothing just this screen with the strange letters on it. Also I don't know the history of the laptop so any ideas what is wrong I want to get the job of the laptop?

    Hello

You can access the BIOS if you press ESC I n know why you try F1?

You have installed a new HARD drive now? If so, you should check if the HARD drive is recognized correctly in the BIOS. If so, you can start with the installation of the driver because the new hard drives are empty then the cursor blinks and nothing happens.

Simplest is that you use the Toshiba recovery disc because it contains an image of the settings from the factory with all the drivers and tools. Just follow the instructions of scree and Windows will be reinstalled.
Alternative, you can also take a Microsoft Windows disk, but you will need to download and install all the drivers step by step.

  • Fast blink on the cartridge light. How long can I keep feeling. It will harm my printer?

I have a Canon MX882 using 226 cartridges.  Most of the time we have additional cartridges, but occasionally, one ink cartridge blinking fast began before I buy new and that I print, I need the fact.  Printing is still good, light and dark. I have exceeded about 30 pages and ink always seeks not faded.  I'm harming the printer while printing?

    Hi enimary,

I will start with the quick response: we never recommend printing once the ink indicator shows that the ink is 'out '.

As the ink level detection is mainly optical, a few traces of ink may still in the ink tank when the 'out' warning.  Let's say your cyan ink is 'out '.  If you print a picture with very little cyan, printing may appear very well since you use so little of this specific ink.

In each draw, the printhead (element used for 'jet' of ink on paper) will heat up.  As the ink through the print head nozzles, it will cool the printhead and the cycle repeats with each pass.  When the print head try to draw ink in an empty tank, it does not cool the print head and can cause damage or clogging of the nozzles.

It's really a bet to continue to print in these circumstances, but I certainly understand the need to print in a crunch.  Keep an eye on for the "low ink" warnings when printing.  When a "low" warning, you will have about 25% of the ink still in the tanks.  He is a guest of good to have a spare available ink tank for when he finally reached the stage of 'out '.

Also, do not confuse the 'low' with 'out' warning warning  I recommend that you view the following Knowledge Base article: checking the status of the ink - MX882.

If you have any other questions, feel free to contact us!

  • How can I stop the blinking cursor?

    Hey

I've been using an older version of TLF and used flashes = false when I don't have or want the cursor blinks.

Now I can't find another way to do this.

It seems that if you use the SelectionManager you're stuck with this default blinking.

    Or am I wrong?

    Concerning

    Micheal

The blinkRate moved from the SelectionManager to the SelectionFormat.  In this way, you could have separate blink rates for targeted and non targeted selections.

    http://livedocs.Adobe.com/Flex/gumbo/langref/flashx/TextLayout/edit/SelectionFormat.html

Assign news SelectionFormats to the focusedSelectionFormat, inactiveSelectionFormat or unfocusedSelectionFormat SelectionManager properties.
