  I have a Satellite of 6000 Pro with XP. My cd - dvd drive is dvd - rom SD-R2102. I can read and burn CDs, I can read DVD & divxx but I can't burn it to a DVD + RW. Apparently, the cd is not recognized.

  I read that AVCHD uses the DVD format.  This means that nice HD camcorder records I have, after having been processed by EP, will show well on a TV wide screen?  Does this question make sense.

  The official term is 'the AVCHD Disc.  It's somehow part of the standards AVCHD/Blu-Ray by Panasonic and Sony.  The idea is to make quality HD or Blu - Ray, cheap, standard DVD.

  It works fine, as long as the video is less than 20 minutes.  The specification of the file seem to be the same as the Blu - Ray specifications.  You get a 1920x1080i file.

  Since it is a related Blu - Ray format, it will only play on Blu - Ray players.  My experience is that the image quality is indistinguishable from actual Blu - Ray discs, created from the same project.

  As long as your video is less than twenty minutes and you play on a Blu - Ray player, it makes sense to create "AVCHD discs" rather than «Discs Blu - Ray»  It's cheaper and the results are the same.

  The sequence in the meadow is publish & share > disk > AVCHD and choose a preset for 1920 x 1080 for NTSC or PAL.

  Please wait while the DVD is created.

  When the text "Completed successfully" is displayed you
  DVD Flick can close. Now you can eject your DVD
  and play in your DVD player.
