A print range selection

I have a HP Photosmart 5710 and when you use it with my old ibm computer I could choose what I wanted to print and not to get all other unwanted.  He certainly used a lot less ink.  I now have a Mac desktop computer.  I always use the same printer, but there is no where I can find which covers selections when printing.  There are 2 options of faces, black and white, project titles and whatnot, but no area of selection.  Anyone had this issue or know something about it?  Its driving me crazy print stuff that I don't need.

Thanks a bunch!

Hi kellbell14,

I understand that you have a problem to be able to isolate a selection that you want to print. I'll try my best to help you solve this problem. In this link to post SP Forsythe , he explains to use Firefox.

I hope this helps, let me know.

Thank you

  • Why 'print range' box 'current page' option please?

Hi, I just changed from Internet Explorer to Firefox. In Internet Explorer, I had 'Current Page' as in 'print range' option in the print area. It's very useful when you want to just print the current page you are looking at. This option is available with Firefox please?

Printing is one of the areas of Firefox which accuses IE, maybe because there was no pressure to be a standard in a corporate environment...

I noticed that Firefox has an option 'Current Page' on Linux, but not on Windows. So there is a code in the code base somewhere that should make it possible.

There are ongoing projects to improve printing under Windows from each point of view (paper check), layout, etc., but progress is slow. We could file a new application for this change, but I suspect it might be queued behind the largest rewrite would be obsolete any quick solution.

However, if a developer writes the fix and fought for it, it could be approved out of sequence. I think that type of initiative and persistence still count for much.

I guess it boils down to: at the present time, he is not a native function. Until it is added, (a day), you could look for an add-on.

  • Suddenly, when I print a selection from an email, it prints on about 10 white pages and somewhere in there, the selection, I wanted to.

I use Firefox 12 on Windows XP. Things worked well until just tonight. Now, when I select Print/selection in my email, it spits out multiple (like, maybe 10 or more) blank pages with just a header/foot on them. I followed the instructions for the reset of the printer of Firefox AND setting reset all printer of Firefox settings, and she always does. Everything prints fine in Internet Explorer. This printing problem becomes REALLY painful. I don't want a workaround solution complicated, I just print a selection. NOW why didn't it work?

Assuming you are using the print optimized page (webmail page layouts are quite complex), it's probably question 12 of Firefox that the relative position of the selection on the page is preserved when printing. Not the best way to save paper!

HP b209a printer range will not connect to router comcast using the WPS button. I try to use a new Comcast router (technicolor TC8305C). When I try to connect the printer times out and says that no connections are when I check for wireless connections. Yet, when I print the network configuration page, the SSID for the new router is at the top of the list. I reinstalled the software by the support of Comcast, but it did not help.  I'm ideas please help!

Never use WPS to connect.  If done it should be disabled in the router for security reasons.  Connect manually via the SSID and password following the instructions in the manual.

  • Default printer is selected and ready, but I get a message that I have to select a printer. I tried but cannot do so.

I unplugged and plugged everything in again, but I still get a message that I have to select a printer.  The printer is selected as the default printer and the status is ready, but I still get the same message.  Help!

Try to select a different default printer and then back to the right printer and reset it by default and see if that helps.

If this does not work, please transfer your question in the Hardware Forum: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistahardware/threads.

  • The color range selection

    Hello world

Can someone please clear up a problem I'm having with Photoshop. I start as I am a student of PS early.

When I try to adjust the color of a portion of an image, I create a hue/saturation layer and then go to the layer mask tab and click on the color range.

    I noticed two things:

    1. when I try to go back to the color range selection after OKing an adjustment... my additions will not be displayed in the mask. Is this normal?

    2. I can not activate the color range if I invert the mask first. The mask must be white, until I click color range for any selection is visible. Is the right one?

I have glitches with PS or is this normal?

    Thank you

    Daniel

If a couple of things here.

Based on your details, I can recreate the same question. If I have a H & S adjustment layer, use selection > color range to create a selection in this adjustment layer mask. But if I try to apply new range to select a color, it blackens my just mask or does not apply a update for the mask area. It seems that you have to actually reset the white mask.

So, I don't think that your system is glitching. It's just how this tool works. But I'm curious to what you do that drives this workflow. If you need convert/adjust a color, you can select this color spectrum in drop-down setting H & S layer options from the master to a specific hue. Then use the pipette to the left to select the color you want to change. That align with the value of the color you want to adjust in the sample interval. Now, move the Tint slider, and this should change. Now, what you do not want to change, just "dab" try it with a black brush on the layer mask to the value adjustment.

  • HP l7590 printer range low cut half of my new policy.

Hello. HP l7590 printer range low cut half of my new policy on all ranks. I checked with the owners of the police and they responded that there is nothing bad with the police, but that it might be my printer. I've never messed with the settings of the printer and have never had a problem of printing a police. I have high down, longer policies that print very well. I am able to display fonts on my screen perfectly, the problem is when you print. Any suggestions why the printer could cut off the bottom of the text? Example, it cuts the small p, y, q, etc. thank you.

After doing much research, I came to a solution. I was finally able to print correctly.

    From Illustrator or InDesign CS5:

File > Print > advanced > click on 'print as Bitmap '.

    Hi jodepepevalentin,

In the print menu, check "scale to fit media" under the Position and size of the device and then check out.

If you want the area selected for printing, check "Print selected area" under the Position and size and specify the size.

  • Question about the color range selection methods similar colors in Photoshop.

    Hello

I have a few images that I must exclude the background out and some of them are very difficult to exclude. For example, an image is that of a white hat that has feathers on it and it sits on a white background. These photos were taken by a professional photographer, but it is extremely difficult for me to choose the background because it is dangerously close to the foreground in terms of color image. I tried to use the range select color that works a little, but feathers are almost impossible to extract. Does anyone know of a more efficient way to choose the colors of the narrow range? Any help would be appreciated.

You need contrast between the subject and the background to be able to extract the subject well. If you can't find a way to create the necessary contrast, you will need to rig the extraction. If the subject has smooth edges may use the pen tool to create a path or selection then the selection of feathers and use it as a mask to soften the edges of the object.

  • Range selection feature

I go from FCP, where we have a nifty tool called the range selection tool.  This tool allows me to select a range of a clip on the timeline. (in general NOT the full clip in > out, but part of the clip)  I don't see an equivalent tool of the PremPro.  I can emulate this feature in PremPro?

    Thank you!

Catch the desired clips.  Copy and paste as usual.  Cut unwanted parts.

  • Alternative to Holding button down 'R' to the range selection Clip in iMovie 10.1.2?

Has anyone found another way to select a range of a clip in iMovie 10.1.2 other than now the key 'R '?  The method used in previous versions of iMovie has been quick and intuitive.  You just skim up to a point located on the clip, clicked and dragged to make the selection.  Browse, click and drag.  It couldn't be easier.  Now, when you click a clip, select the clip.  The only way to get only a piece is to change your train of thought, find the "R" key, press and hold and hope you can return to the creative process.  How is it better for the user?  It is a step backwards in usability.  Am I missing something?  Why iMovie software engineers would make such a decision of confusion?  Is it possible to return to the simpler method by a preference?  I can't imagine a user thinks, 'Wow, this process hold the 'R' key is really a nice update.  It's actually easier to use iMovie. »

    Browse, click and drag.

It always works for me this way in iMovie 10.1.2.  Maybe this works only on my trackpad with touch of strength? I can't test it with a mouse now.

I only use the "R" key after selecting the range to copy.
