A question on the LR3 camera Calibration settings

I re-imported 'old' LR3 LR2.7 Raw images. For images taken with a Canon EOS 20 d camera, the LR3 'caméra Calibration' (Raw) settings is automatically set to "ACR4.4". For Raw Images taken with a Canon EOS 5 d MKII, the LR3 "caméra Calibration" settings is automatically set to 'Adobe Standard '.

Why the difference and this must by default be?

Franz

The EOS 20 d preceded the new calibration profiles. Thus, all images edited prior to their introduction will be the former ACR X.Y profiles incorporated in default XMP. If you switch to the new profiles of the appearance of the image will change.

The new default value is Adobe Standard

You can open several files camera raw in PES 11 camera raw (7.4), but I take it from your other post in the camera raw forum

your willingness to open several files in 11 EPS jpeg camera raw.

One way I can think of offhand is open your first jpeg, then on JPEG files that follow use previous Conversion in the context menu in camera raw.

  • How can I get this question to the right person in Sony cameras?

How can I get this question to the right people in the Sony cameras?  The main site contact form does not have a pre-sales question:

I intend to buy a digital SLR type that has at least 24 million pixels, 4K recording/storage/exit offers video, Wi - Fi, objective interchangeable with anti-shake zoom function and which allow me to save my pictures in full form, so that I can view in 4 K on a Sony 4 K TV.
Looking at the picture of the cameras is intimidating.  I prefer Sony.  Can you point me to one of your cameras that meet my needs?  If there is on the way before the month of may of the next year, please let me know about that as well.  In addition, I don't want the so-called very high prices of professional cameras, namely $5K or more.  Thank you.

With regard to a DSLR with 4 k video, no again.
Will there be one in the future? Yes there will be.
    When? No idea yet.

The closest thing that currently holds the Sony is the Sony RX10ii

DSLR body, 4 k video, built in an optical (in lens), wifi/NFC, stabilizer etc.

However, it is only 20mp and it uses not interchangeable objectives.
It's lens located between however 18-200mm (35mm equivalent)

Finally, it's only a 1 "sensor, so don't expect a quality digital SLR image, but quality located near DSLR quality nonetheless.

  • Color calibration settings reset after restarting the computer

    Hello!
I had a really hard time with my monitor calibration.
I will try to describe my problem as simple as possible. I hope that someone will find a solution to this because I just couldn't.

    SYSTEM:
ASUS N750JV, Intel Core i7, NVIDIA GeForce GT 750 M + Intel HD Graphics 4600 and, of course, Windows 8.

    PROBLEM:
"Calibrate display" settings change/reset back from each time after restarting the laptop, shut down or put to sleep.

    DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM
I just can't calibrate my screen. Everything I do just does not work.
Calibrating monitor in Windows 8 works very well only during the time when I actually do
But if I restart, stop, or put my laptop to sleep just goes back to normal.

For example, as a first step, the screen of Loggin on Windows 8 when I start seems calibrated.
but when I connect I wait 2 seconds or two and all my settings are changed in return.
I have to recalibrate the screen again and again once and again and again...

Swear to God that I tried all possible solutions to solve my problem and none of them worked.
I have read a lot of forums, and I can't find the solution that actually works.
I did the solution 'Safe mode' , the 'clean boot' solution, in 'color management', I changed the settings (in a way that people who said it should work).
I've updated all my drivers (my system than the GeForce GT 750 M is up to date). I installed all available updates for Windows 8 (when I check updates, the system tells me there aren't everything and my system is also up-to-date).

I guess there could be a problem with my graphics card. I know that everyone has had problems these last time with the new update for GeForce, but like I said before, if I have confidence in my laptop then my graphics card is up-to-date.

It really bothers me. It's annoying and I'm frustrated by that. The worst is that I can't find a solution to this, so I'm really asking for help.
    Thank you!

Original title: calibration unsolved display problem - Windows 8

Adeline B, thank you very much for your answer.
I'm sorry that I have not responded in such a long delay.

Well, my problem has been resolved. I downloaded my GeForce graphics driver was last updated.
    Now everything works fine.

    • I know that this problem can be irritating. If anyone has the same issue so I recommend you (like everyone else) download of the updated driver for your graphics card.
    • If this does not work, try to calibrate your system using programs/software installed on your computer by your manufacturer. In my case it was splendid ASUS utility. I also used Intel® HD Graphics Control Panel.
    • Another thing is you may think that your system does not calibrate when it actually... made. So what you can do, it's just waiting for the start until your system is finally charge up. In my case, Windows 8 something takes about 10 to 12 seconds, until what it changes all the settings of ' my settings'.»» Then first Windows 8 loads up to original settings (and this is why you find that your screen is not calibrated) but then it loads the calibration settings you make before you restart and all is well.

I know this sounds so easy is probably not solve anything, but when I had this problem with the calibration I was so irritated by it I wasn't noticing the changes! I'd just instantly to the desktop or control panel configuration, or web and try to solve the problem, without waiting for my system completely load all settings. But... If the wait does not then consult my previous statements.

  • The camera raw settings

Need help with understanding, openness raw with photoshop images camera raw.  It seems to me that if I change a setting in an image, the following image will have the same settings.  How can I reset all the settings in camera raw it is default?  My raw file's xmp with her file.  I want to only read these settings, not something that I played with in camera raw.

Does make sense?  I understand the behavior of camera raw?

Camera Raw is automatically writes the settings to an XMP file (or rewritten the current XMP if there is already one) every time that you click 'complete' or 'open image/object '. When you open a Raw file, the settings defined in the XMP "sidecar" are read and applied to the file.

If you don't want the XMP sidecar to update with new changes in Camera Raw, simply tap "Cancel". If you want to delete all the settings, click on the drop down at the top right and choose 'Reset to the default camera Raw.'

    Questions 1)

Not because the LRDATA file is fair previews, what LR displays on your screen for a faster loading of the image and will be recreated. The previews only stored in the folder LRDATA is the basic overview created at time of importation for the display of thumbnails and previews of 1:1 for images that you have actually looked in the Loupe View or I guess that appears in the develop module.

He get all the data to create the image themselves file extracts.

If you have several files on your system that have pictures in them and you select one of them that you have not looked at in a while, you will notice LR creation of previews for these images, there will be 3 white dots in the upper right corner of the thumbnail. It's LR creation of previews for the thumbnail view. If you scroll quickly in the grid view, you'll notice a few thumbnails of images are gray, until you stop scrolling, then the upper left tile will come in clear view and the white dots will appear on the other images. It's LR creating previews for those of other images. Once LR created the preview of thumbnails that are on your screen, white spot will disappear. If you scroll down again, you will see more white dots

If you switch to another folder that LR begins again create preview images in this folder. The total number of previews created and stored based on caching of the preview you have in the catalog settings dialog in the management of the files tab.

If not, you need not the LR Previews.lrdata folder. Whenever LR is not very good this folder with a catalog he recreates it to store previews in.

  • Compositions for the 3D camera zoom question

    Hello.

So, I have a question about compositing with 3D in after. I tried to import a drawn to the radius of photoshop 3d object with size 1920 x 1080 with the 3D plugin after and what I want is to turn while the camera's zoom in as in a dolly (from far almost) movement reached a point where the camera switches the object in 3D rotation, which disappears at this point. Streight pretty basic forward camera movement. So what is happening is that while the camera moves forward and to get closer to the object, the objects are pxelate wrong and when the unit is super close, it seems terribly pxelated. I guessed that after that effects condition as image objects instead of the real 3D object then, that sucks semi and so tried to make a larger composition 3D in photoshop then import it to legacy so that when the zoom of dolly-camera movement happens this isn't Pixelize. I made a model of 6000 X 4000 in photoshop and tried to import to after effects and what has happened is that it took about 8 minutes to import the composition (literally) in legacy and when I tried the camera movemenet this has worked, the pixelation-no I mean, but then after effects takes forever to make a change/ram preview or anything at all moving from one image to another takes like 30 seconds or more, even at a quarter of resolution. So obviously I can't work like this at all, especially as it's just a 3D composition which I want to have a lot in the same project. I have a pretty good machine, Quad core i7 2, 3 GB with 8 GB of ram, so there is nothing I can do to improve it. So given this information on what I want to do, can you give any advise how to solve this, if possible? Thank you!

    J

The only objects that you can move the camera in and no pixelation are vector objects such as Illustrator, shape layers or hidden file strong. In all other cases, when the unit is at the same distance from the layer as the zoom value (object in the center of the model and z = 0, the 1000 camera zoom value, camera centered in the model and z =-1000) the layer is 100% wide and you see pixel for pixel. If you move the camera over nearly half the effective scale scale becomes 200%. It does not take much to end up with a mess.

Most of the time, if I'm so close, I hide chunks with motion blur.

With regard to the acceleration of work with large layers I'd watch a downward revision to the resolution of the window of your model (set to 1/4) or learn more about the use of proxies. Get the movement the way you want to look at, light motion blur and make a test.

If you have really large files you can do the trick of the crop and scale and then stack them in a 3D space and cut between them. Here's the trick. Start with an image that is 10 X the size of your model, duplicate and it reduce by 50%, that duplicate and resize it down 50%. Now crop the original image to 25% of the original size, the second at 50% of the original size of the cultures.  You can do this with the size of the canvas. Leave the last full-size.

This gives you three images that you can intensify in AE but install away from the camera. The last of them became the wide shot, and as you move in you cut to the next, then the next close of cultures. This keeps the size of the images on 2 X the size of the model, saves a lot of rendering time and makes your publication much easier to manage. The trick is to use the scale property on the first two copies (zoom full width and environment) so that the size of the image corresponds to the next layer below. The broader picture is 400% across (even less), the second 200% scale, and the third left at 100%. You won't have pixilation problems, you will have a more manageable composition and your render time will be reduced.

    I hope these suggestions help.

  • Question on the application of web camera

Recently, I started my laptop Toshiba, as it does so, I became aware that the application of Web camera that is part of the installed software/hardware tools, has appeared on the desktop screen, as usual, but on this occasion, he disappeared again, I tried to locate and determine what had happened, but without success, to solve the problem or retrieve the application of the Web camera as a tool of the laptop It is rather limited and miserable as I video link with my daughter, London and is essential, apart from talk, see visually and vice versa.

No advice and no information would be more appreiciative

In general, default webcam app starts with Windows as small window pop up on the left side of the desktop.

Unfortunately I didn t understand what happens with this application on your laptop but you can start it manually.
Otherwise, if you use the webcam with other applications like Skype, webcam application must not start with Windows.

The bottom line is this webcam is properly installed and listed in Device Manager.

If there is a problem with the webcam in general please describe in detail what is wrong with that and we can try to help you.

  • A few questions after the downgrade of Win 7 on Satellite U940 - 11L

    Hello

friend of mine bought the Toshiba Satellite U940 - 11L which had Windows 8 on it, due to some reasons that she wanted to have Windows 7 installed on it, which was pretty easy.

Trouble came with the installation of the Symantec touchpad, after installing the drivers, it worked for about 10-15 minutes but then it stopped working.

Tried to uninstall and install again but no luck, found a few discussions where it was suggested to remove all the devices, remove the battery and the power cord.

Press the power button for 15 seconds and then power back on but still not lucky (I wasn't in the restoration of the default settings of the Bios I did not any change it outside disabling secure boot and replacing UEFI CSM that was needed to run win 7 on it).

Tried about 4 different sources when it comes to the drivers but still does not work. I checked the Device Manager Dev but see no conflict, and it shows that the unit works fine but the problem persists. Please note that the drivers were specific to windows 7.

Please if you have any suggestions we would greatly appriciate it.

On another note, I'm not able to install the bluetooth it (HW ID shows as ACPI\TOS6205), I tried to install it several times but no luck because it always shows as unknown device in the dev Manager. The driver that I use is Bluetooth Filter Driver Package as info.

Also, the computer is slower than it was with Windows 8, I suspect the reason for this is the fact that the installation of win 7 I accidentally erased part of the hybrid drive SSD (the size was 11.2 GB if I remember correctly, yes silly me...). I wasn't looking for a while on the net to see if there is a way to fix it but no luck so far.

Thank you very much for your time and your suggestions!

    Tony

With regard to the question of the touchpad.
To my knowledge, the touchpad should work even if the Synaptics touchpad driver has not been installed. Windows system contains own driver that control the touchpad and provide standard settings. Of course after installing the Synapatics driver, you should get a few more options and features more touchpad.

I recommend you to download the driver for the touchpad from Synaptics driver page and install it again: http://www.synaptics.com/resources/drivers

With regard to the problem of BT.
The laptop supports WLan Intel (Intel Wireless-N 2230) card that supports BT connectivity. Bt driver filter pack is ONLY necessary if you laptop would use an Atheros WLan card or Realtek WLan card. For the Intel WLan modules such package of filter is NOT necessary. To get BT to work, you must install the battery Toshiba BT!

  • Questions on the Dual-Boot Linux/Win8 on Inspiron 15R

I recently got a new computer Dell laptop, Inspiron 15R, and I want to dual-boot with Windows 8 and Linux. I'm not familiar with Windows. I use Debian based Linux flavors, but I've only used the 32-bit versions on PC with BIOS (not UEFI). I never put in place a system dual boot, I usually just run Linux and one at a time unless I am running from a USB key. The laptop is running Win 8, basically, as he came. I have not updated to 8.1 Win. I have not moved all the files on the laptop yet.

    Issues related to the:

    1. If I use "Dell Backup and Recovery", the reinstallation disks will allow me to do a completely clean install of win 8?

    2. relocation records re-create the configuration factory of partitioning and include backup partition?

    3. can I move the backup partition that is pre-installed in other media (I have 4 partitions for dual boot-Win8 need, root, / Home, swap)?

    4. can I leave the backup partition, have my 3 partitions for Linux, no Win partition and reinstall Windows from backup partition should I have to?

    5. can I choose what software is installed when I create/use the backup disks?

    6. can I add software that I installed when I create the backup disks?

    7. should I have the Windows product key to reinstall? If Yes, where is it? (no sticker on the bottom of the laptop)

    13. do not set up the dual boot somehow cancel my warranty on the hardware of the laptop?

    14. If I end up doing a boot of Linux and using Wine for Windows software, which will void my warranty?

    16. given that the laptop came with Win 8, is it possible to install older versions of Win on it instead of 8?

    17. given that the laptop is equipped with Internet Explorer, can I copy this program and run it in wine? (It's really the software only Windows only, that I need, to test software)

I'm sorry that there are so many questions, I always try to understand all my options before doing anything permanent. Thanks in advance for any help :)

    1. If I use "Dell Backup and Recovery", the reinstallation disks will allow me to do a completely clean install of win 8?

No it won't be a "clean" installation This will be a facility of factory settings. i.e. Windows pre-installed drivers and preinstalled software such as McAfee. Make sure that you install Dell Backup and Recovery version 1.7.1.2 before using it. See here for more details:

You need a DVD of resettlement to clean install, call Support Dell technique for her.

    2. relocation records re-create the configuration factory of partitioning and include backup partition?

USB recovery will recreate the system partition.

    3. can I move the backup partition that is pre-installed in other media (I have 4 partitions for dual boot-Win8 need, root, / Home, swap)?

You will have problems this, unless you can get several disks in your system and have a Linux hard drive and a hard disk of Windows separately.

    4. can I leave the backup partition, have my 3 partitions for Linux, no Win partition and reinstall Windows from backup partition should I have to?

No it does not work like that, you will not be able to boot from the partition recovery making it useless. However, you can start Recovery USB.

    5. can I choose what software is installed when I create/use the backup disks?

No, as mentioned previously this is not not a "clean" installation and drivers and software preloaded such as McAfee will be included.

    6. can I add software that I installed when I create the backup disks?

Not unless you get a DVD to reinstall and then install all your software on 1 large Windows partition with nothing else on the disc, then use Dell backup and restore. Or you buy a premium version of Dell backup and restore.

    7. should I have the Windows product key to reinstall? If Yes, where is it? (no sticker on the bottom of the laptop)

    Integrated sound in BIOS here:

    8. can I use the product key or from backup disks to run Win 8 in a virtual machine under Linux?

No, you cannot license is OEM and the virtual machine has a virtual BIOS which will be recognized as another computer. It will not work and you will have problems to activate product. Media created with DBaR does not work on a virtual Dell BIOS or not.

    9. can I run Windows on a Flash DRIVE (or SD) as I can with Linux?

    N °

    10. can I install Win 8 to an external hard drive?

    N °

    10. is it better to shrink the Windows partition and reinstall Windows on a partition?

Its usually best to clean install. However, it is the DVD of resettlement.

    11. how small the Windows partition can be?

It depends on how much you want to add. At least 20 GB however.

    12. Windows will be able to access the/home partition? If not, is there a way to set up a separate partition for/home on Windows, Linux can access? Or do the / Home partition readable for Windows?

You can make a partition for Windows and Linux to share.

    13. do not set up the dual boot somehow cancel my warranty on the hardware of the laptop?

No, the warranty is for the hardware and not software. Dell you normally would have to restore the system to factory settings if help you hollow troubleshooting Windows so only. They will still carry the material well.

    14. If I end up doing a boot of Linux and using Wine for Windows software, which will void my warranty?

    N ° Ditto as above.

15 is it my laptop to change any empty not compatible equipment (possibly wireless card) the warranty on the material of the opening?

He should be ok, as long as you don't damage it. Usually, these interchangeable parts are readily available. Confer with the user manual at the parts remove.

    16. given that the laptop came with Win 8, is it possible to install older versions of Win on it instead of 8?

Windows 7 64 bit can be installed, but you will need a new Windows license unless it came with Windows 8.0/8.1 Professional (in this case, you can use downgrade rights to Windows 7 Professional). You may have trouble with older versions.

    17. given that the laptop is equipped with Internet Explorer, can I copy this program and run it in wine? (It's really the software only Windows only, that I need, to test software)

I don't have much experience with wine, but it is not as simple as copying a .exe for IE11.

Yes and there are better ways to reinstall Windows 8 without using the installation disc, you can use the reset and refresh.

These steps will take you through refreshing your PC:

    · Press the Windows key + C on your keyboard to show the charms (if you use a touch screen: touch the right edge of your screen and drag your finger to the left)

    · Click settings

I have an iPhone 6 running IOS 9.3.2.  I would like to answer my calls automatically via the speaker, but I am unable to access the engine parameters and physical space.  I navigate to settings > general > accessibility > and then try to scroll through physical and motor , but he's not here. I, Vision, hearing, Interaction, media and learning , but there is no physical and motor options. I understand that I can type on incoming calls and choose the President from the three options available under this section (physical and motor).  Why do I not have these options?

    Hello Hcw427,

I understand that you are having problems with the accessibility settings on your iPhone 6. Not to worry, these features are designed to help you use your camera easier. You may be able to find this specific setting you are looking for in the section 'Interaction' accessibility settings on your iPhone. Did you know you can also adjust these settings for connecting your device to your computer and launch iTunes? Check out the link and the steps below to get the best use out of your accessibility settings.

Use the accessibility features in iOS

Accessibility to manage with iTunes features:
Connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to any computer with iTunes installed.
    In iTunes, select your device.
In the summary pane, click on configure accessibility in the Options section at the bottom.
Select the function you want to use, and then click OK.

Setting these parameters using the link or the above steps you will get on your way to use your device as YOU wish to use it! Please take contact with Apple Support communities.

    Have a great day.

  • Question about the recovery partition

    Hello.

I have a question about the recovery of HARD drive partition.

If I do the operation to clear the hard disk option in the wizard it will remove * all * or it will keep my partition recovery in this way I can come back later. I want to know because I would like to put on a different OS.

I know he said he would, but caution in the PDF, I found it says that on a normal recovery too (that he would remove each partition) and I'm a little confused about how the recovery actually worked.

    Thank you.

    Hey Buddy,

To be honest I n don't know what you mean exactly with this option to erase.

In General, Toshiba Recovery disk will wipe your entire HDD to restore factory settings correctly. This means that if you start from that disk and follow the instructions on the screen, everything will be removed.

In addition, the recovery disk doesn t create a recovery partition. It is not available. Disk copy just the files on the second partition in folder HDDrecovery to start an installation of HARD drive recovery.
