A Recovery Key 8.0 - 8.1 windows - create new partitions

Dear members,

Looks like I'm again back and forth until the beginning of the loop about the one key recovery after checking with Lenovo customer support. Can you help me on the underside. However, I feel that well documented procedures for a recovery key 8.0 is missing rather than simply explain the navigation. I have laptop 59436412 z50-70 with pre-built windows 8.1

Apart from others (recovery, OEM, other) partitions I have 2 partitions that are C (windows 8.1) 890 GB and D (drivers) 25 GB however I want to create additional partitions (4) to organize my files. Can I go directly to diskmanagement and reduce the amount of C in about 300 GB, and then create more number of partitions available space?

Is it mandatory to create a USB stick with OS bootable recovery media? According to the customer support 'YOU NEED to DO a RECOVERY MEDIA PENDRIVE WITH BOOTABLE OPERATING SYSTEM such as CHANGE THE NUMBER OF PARTITIONS WILL BREAK THE METHOD OKR AND OKR WILL OPERATE NOT! that is, I will not be able to reset my laptop to factory settings, when I create several partitions.  If someone can confirm this?  Also, if I make a bootable OS, and during the restoration doesn't he invites a key make the OS as genuine windows?  Can I make a bootable on several DVD OS (like a DVD isn't enough)?  Is the same approach as in the case of manufacturing on a DVD?

I didn't get the backup system. I want to make more partitions (shrink volume C and create partitions plus 5 for easy maintenance). I'll be able to restore my system to factory settings (using the key to NOVA) Although there are number of shift of the partitions (initially 2, now around 6 partitions)? I'm not worried about my data, because I'll have a backup of important files to external hard drive that I'll get back later with other software

Can I have a partition based backup and restore using OKR 8.0?

If I have an image of the system after the creation of all partitions then I will be able to restore using this image without problems?

Tell if the hard drive broke down and I have the backup image to the external orifice. Can I restore the image on the new hard drive? The number of partitions is same? In addition, the size of each partition must be even?

Suppose I have a partition on the hard drive itself to store backup images (img1, 2, 3, 4, 5) and when I need to restore on picture 3 and after successful restoration, I don't know who will lose the picture 4 and 5 on this partition image.  I'll be able to restore my system to say image 2 if necessary in the future when I am running on the 3 image.  In addition, there is a limit on the number of the system for a specific image restore?

Waiting for your suggestions.  Sorry, if this is requested several times by others.

Thank you
Nicolas.

DISCLAIMER: I do not use OKR.

Based on the documentation and messages that I read about OKR, it requires your partitions of HARD drive to stay the same size as the shipped factory. What Lenovo customer support center said is correct! ANY change in the size of the partitions C or D will cause OKR to FAIL.  (there are messages indicating this failure after changing the size of the partition).

The OKR create recovery media is designed to work with a USB key.  It will not work with a DVD.

You can try to backup of Windows running with the backup being stored on the C drive, or second HARD/usb drive, etc.

FOR INFO.  A HARD disk can contain only 4 ordinary partitions.  Greater than 4, you will need to allocate partitions SCOPES.

  • How can I create new partition for dual boot (Windows 7/Ubuntu)?

My Z580 came with 4 primary partitions: the Windows boot partition; Windows OS & data (C drive); a "Lenovo" partition which seems to have the drivers and software pre-installed (drive D). and an OEM partition that is used for key recovery.

I want to create a dual boot system, as if I had on my old laptop, so I guess I need to delete one of the existing partitions and create an extended partition. The best candidate seems to be the 'Lenovo' partition with the drivers and applications. Can I backup the data on this partition and transfer it to the C drive... or put it on a new logical partition?

Alternatively, it would be preferable to save the OEM DVD recovery partition, and then delete and create a new extended partition? I guess that means abandon OKR, but I'd still be able to recover Windows of DVDs (?).

I would appreciate anyone's help. I am far from being an expert or computer whizz, so if you can help, please keep it simple!

In fact, you can get if you only change the size of the D: drive. I guess that your D: drive occupies about 25 GB. You can delete this partition and shrink the C: drive as 100 GB (or any size you like) and you can create a new D: drive. This way you can use OneKey Recovery and install the second OS on a larger partition and yet once again, I suggest you create Factory Default disc before you do all this

    Hello

Saved on the HARD drive recovery image can be installed (HARD drive recovery facility) if the laptop has only factory settings. Your own experience, something like this is not possible.
To be honest I m was really asking why you didn't follow the instructions in the manuals s document for creation of recovery media.
Now, in this situation easier for you had to use this support and install the original version of OS that you got with your machine.

If you do not want to order the original recovery media is the way to try to create USB recovery media - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD4103KB0000R01.htm

I really hope this will help you. If this does not work... then you have a problem.

    Hi Vidal.

Check the links below and see if it works.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows7/can-i-have-more-than-one-operating-system-on-my-computer-multiboot

If your hard drive has enough free disk space, you can install a newer version of Windows on a separate partition and keep the earlier version of Windows on your computer. It's called a multiboot or dual-boot configuration. Every time that you start your computer, you can choose which version of Windows to run.

Win XP is on a 39 GB partition with other application files. I had to delete several files to get the free space necessary to WIN 8 and finally finished by formatting the partition and passes for a COMPLETE new installation.

Unfortunately, I now get the "failed to create new partition or find existing. For more information, see the Setup log file"error message. I can't find a Setup log file that I do a boot from the DVD.

I tried to delete all external drives and other USB devices, including my Modem but my Wired USB keyboard/mouse.

I have tried both 64 and 32 discs with the same result.

    Hello

I solved the problem. It seems that you can not install on a secondary partition with in an earlier version of windows. You must restart the computer and run the installation from a dvd or other media.  Once you get the installation running you should be able to install on another partition without any problems.

    Nice day

The recovery set supplied with the computer should find the default computer.  Probably will not even need to enter the key.

Don't forget to patch (probably manually) with SP1 and SP2 after you're done.  Then download the updates (MUCH) released after that.

I bought a new hard drive. I don't have a system recovery disk. Can I load Windows Vista from another source and activate using my original product key?

    Hello

There is no download available from Microsoft Vista.

Contact the manufacturer of your laptop and ask them to send a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key determines which Edition is installed.

Builders recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

    See you soon.

p.s. If the old hard drive is still installed and running before you change on hard drives and you never received the to purchase recovery discs, you can make the recovery discs from the recovery Partition which should be on the old hard drive. You will need to request that the manufacturer how to do as each computer manufacturer has their own way of making records of this partition recovery.

It depends on the old hard drive still works.

  • Recovery of E135 Windows 8. Be sure to create the recovery key. Is it possible to restore Windows 8?

    Hi all!

I recently got an E135 came with Windows preloaded 8. Really, I did not like the new interface, so I installed Windows 7 above. Unfortunately I forgot to create a recovery key using this method. Now I would like to reset on Windows 8, but I have no way to force the computer to access the recovery partition.

    The method I've tried:

    • F11 at startup gives me the ability to recover Windows 7 from a USB key. Which is weird, because the original operating system was Windows 8
    • Rescue and recovery and OneKey times give me the ability to save, but not to restore it from the hidden partition.

    Info:

    Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E135 335972G

Managment of disk shows a HARD drive divided into: 2 x the recovery partition, 1 partition system parition and EFI x normal.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

I lost access to the partition recovery and the recovery of www.lenovorecovery.com disks ordererd.

    It is an option.

(I have however failed to use them yet.) Since the edge E135 has no driver disk, I did burn on usb and disk images. For my problem, see here.)

  • ask the bitlocker recovery key before upgradation of window 10

    Hello

Please help me, how to retrieve the bitlocker recovery key manually my PC ask before upgradation window10 because I forgot to unlock my D encrypted drive unlocked and my bitlocker keyID is 4<****************>6.

    Thank you

    Hi yogesh,

I understand that you would like to know how to retrieve the BitLocker recovery key manually and I'll be happy to answer your query.

(Repair-bde) BitLocker Repair tool is a command-line tool included with Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. This tool can be used to access the encrypted data on a severely damaged hard drive if the drive has been encrypted by using BitLocker Drive encryption. Repair-bde can reconstruct critical parts of the drive and recover recoverable data until a password is invalid or the recovery key is used to decrypt the data. The Repair-bde command-line tool is intended to be used when the operating system does not start, or when you cannot start the BitLocker Recovery Console. If a drive is physically damaged, it may not be recoverable.

I would ask you to see the suggestions in the article below and check the status.

Hope this information is useful. Please feel free to answer in the case where you are facing in the future other problems with Windows.

  • Could not find a way to Exchange my old pre 29 recovery key.

    I have a recovery key.

There is no option to add one device other than a new one with nothing on it.
This update seems to have removed features and my years of bookmarks value apparently thrown out the window with the 'new' sync system.

It's quite frustrating, I'm looking for answers for hours now.

It is not that difficult. Help me find a way to get all my important information, please.

(It was a bad time for my hard drive of the computer to fail...)

You will need to install an older version of Firefox temporarily and connect to the old account to sync and update then again to the current version.

    Firefox 28.0 for Windows:

  • Firefox sync, said bad recovery key

I need to know how to recover my passwords and bookmarks/pin tabs of firefox sync. computer has been updated to windows 7

What you did to save the sync key (aka recovery key) before moving to Win7?

Without the right key of your data recovery on the synchronization server are useless and cannot be recovered. This 'key' has been used to encrypt your data as these data has been downloaded to the synchronization server.

  • Lost recovery key and need to retrieve the current data

    Yes.

    It's a really bad situation.
In order to regain sync I have to generate a new recovery key
But the recovery key generator will mangle the data synchronized.

Is it possible to recover the data?

I was not able to sync with Firefox on Android and a few days ago my hard drive gives up so I had to reinstall windows.

It is amazing that nobody reads the entire post.

"I was not able to sync with Firefox on Android and a few days ago my hard drive gives up so I had to reinstall windows."

Where was the big warning sign when I joined firefox sync?.

Thanks for a useless service. Now, I have a lot of passwords to reset...
