A satellite - new battery is flat when power off

Hi all

I have a new battery that the other was under warranty.

When I stop and turn off the power to the computer, the battery seems to be running in the back ground as when I turn on the pc there are only about 3 percent of power in the battery.

What are the correct settings, so I can stop and the battery does not get used?

Thank you
Jacquie

Hey,.

Really shut down you the computer, or it is in standby mode? No battery power is necessary if you turn off the computer or switch to hibernation mode. Standby battery power is required.

In addition, you wrote that you have a new battery. How many times you load the already? A new battery must be charged at least 5 times to reach full capacity.

If you have loaded the battery is battery LED color change?

    Hello

Have you noticed this problem since the first day of purchase?
Theoretically, it could be possible that your battery begins to malfunction
On the other hand, an electrical problem could also be possible

    However, try this:
Remove the battery and the AC adapter. Then press and hold button power 30 sec long.
Then insert the battery and plug AC adapter still does that help?

By the way: this is the BIOS updated? If this isn't the case, perform an update.

    Hey,.

Which is really strange. I have never heard of this issue, and this happens only with the disconnected AC adapter?

Have you installed another 3rd pilot who is not on the page of Toshiba? In particular, I mean the display driver.
In addition, you should try to reinstall Windows using the Toshiba recovery disc.

But I think that in this case, you need professional assistance from an authorized service provider. Technicians can looking for laptop and fix because this should not happen. Moreover, on the Toshiba site, you can search for the nearest authorized service provider.

  • Satellite U920t: Win update - impossible to restart even when power off / on

When I turned on this morning, Windows displays a message "keep your PC until this." Installing up-to-date I have 5... ».

This status remained on for centuries, in fact, I left it on for hours, hoping that it was a significant update file, I even went to do errands and when I arrived home, she was always the same.

I tried pressing ALT - DEL but nothing happened. I then the PC off, left for a few minutes and he fed up, but the PC comes right back with the same update message.

I have also noticed that, after that the PC was supposed to be turned off, the LED of the drive system flashes on and off intermittently as if it is actually still being run or locked.

    Hello

Have you tried to press and hold the button of power lasts 4 seconds?
Usually, this should stop the process of loop.

    Also try this:
Switch on and press F12. Now you should see a start menu where you could choose some devices. Last option should be HARD drive recovery.

Choosing this option of HARD drive recovery you would reset the system back to factory settings.
    Check it out!

First of all, I upgraded from Windows 8.1 for Windows 10 months ago. This problem came up to the top, it will not wake up when I put it on the mode 'sleep'. I read a post here about it and followed the instructions of update of "Intel(r) HD Graphics Family' who got helped, but only for a while. Now, I am once again these strange things when I put my laptop on a sleep mode:

    1. when I put it on a sleep for more than an hour, it will not wake up.

    2. She warms up when it is the mode "Eve" and even when I stopped it (and this problem makes me more worried)

Can someone help me as soon as possible please?

What is the version 9.0 or version 9.5? Because the linked page points to the version 9.5 for Win8.1 for your machine: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-14-Notebook-PC-series/5355001/model/5389795#Z7_3054ICK0KGTE30AQO5O3KA30R1

  • Satellite A70 new battery does not charge

I finally bought a replacement battery for my very old laptop as the original accompanying made his life after 5 years of good and loyal service. Anyway, the strange thing is when I put the new battery with my laptop is off the battery on the front indicator turned green in about 2 hours, but when I tried to start my laptop on the new battery he got a short distance after the Toshiba screen and then died.

Then with my laptop stays off, I connected again and of course the light glowed amber again.
I left it for a good 5 hours to juice to the top, but since nothing has changed after this time I turned on the computer laptop back to see how far I got.

The utility Toshiba Power Management was told that the battery was 98%, so I left the laptop on while a moment and she eventually is in standby mode. I left it this way for more than 24 hours, but after this time I got home and the Toshiba power management utility still costs 98% indicated. So I decided to see if it would work without the power adapter as 98% of support is fairly complete but to remove my laptop AC adapter is dead.

I thought it might be a problem with the AC in port on my laptop because it is a common problem with the A70 and A75, but I which excluded when I found him still able to load my old battery. This also has rulled a problem the laptop itself because it still works very well the old battery, only for 2 hours of processing however.

Just to be sure, I've had the battery in the laptop for days now and no change. It still doesn't start to the top of the battery and it still says fresh 98%. Is this a defective battery, a problem of communication between the microprocessor of the battery and my laptop, or is this a problem with the Toshiba power management utility?

    > I find that he is still able to charge my old battery
This means that the laptop is able to charge the battery and work well with the old battery is good?

    > It still doesn't start to the top of the battery and it still says fresh 98%.
If the laptop works correctly with the old battery and you get problems only using the new battery, so I guess that the stack is not function correctly or it s is not compatible

In my opinion, you should change the battery and should try another

    Good luck

  • Tecra S5 does not start on new battery

    Hello
I recently bought a new battery for my Tecra (the original one has been able to the laptop for less than 10 minutes).
When I put the new battery (which is fully charged) in my laptop and try to feed upward, the system hangs with a black screen
and the text cursor blinking "_" in the upper left corner, before windows xp starts.
It happens with or without AC adapter plugged.
If I replace the new battery with the old, or remove and boot on power AC/DC, the system starts properly.
If I boot on current alternative and insert the new battery and unplug the power, I can work until the next boot - so it seems that
    the new battery is OK.
the new battery is not true toshiba but WhiteEnergy. I used the mark with my previous satellite and worked well.
Do you have anny suggestions or to change settings?
The symptoms are quite weired to me.

    > Symptoms are quite weired to me.
For me, too. Settings to change? I put t really know what kind of settings can improve this.
When you start your laptop on battery only, you can enter the BIOS settings?
Have you tried to set on the default settings and check if something will change?

    Hello

First of all there are no many things that must be done if you replace the battery.
The new battery should be automatically recognized by laptop and the Windows System.
If it s not the case, then the battery is not completely compatible or malfunctioning.

There are several batteries on the market; origin and original parts parts
I recommend buying an original Toshiba Toshiba service block in your country.
In this case, you can be sure that you bought a fair and good share for your laptop to 100%.
