    Hello

I've seen a few posts on this topic but not have been very useful.

My computer (Dell Inspiron 2200) was relatively slow and I decided to reformat the machine.  After doing that it seems the hard drive was fried in the process that I have been unable to get the machine to boot properly after the reformatting process.  When I ran a diagnostic on the computer, a message was also discussed more leading to believe that this was the case.  This is why I took an old hard drive that I had and tried to use it on the machine.  I created a Windows startup disk by downloading the file and burn a disk.  I changed the order of BIOS to move the CD drive first on the list and the error "remove disks or other media."  " Press any key to restart" continues to be displayed.  Please help me

I ran fixmbr too, but you don't need to contact your manufacturer for assistance.

It is extremely unlikely that any computer purchased at a store bought on this planet will have installed XP Recovery Console.

It is extremely unlikely that any computer purchased at a store bought on this planet will be accompanied by a genuine XP installation CD bootable that can be used to start the XP Recovery Console.

It's extremely likely that any manufacturer on this planet will send you an installation CD XP genuine for you can start in the Recovery Console.

It is extremely likely that the majority of the posters on the forums is not any type of bootable XP media.

It is extremely likely that the majority of the posters on the forums have never actually seen, possessed or otherwise come into contact with an XP bootable installation CD authentic in their lives, or if they already had in their possession, it is now nowhere to be found.

I wonder why never support engineers offer this idea for the Recovery Console.

    (a) they do not know how
    (b) they are not allowed to post anything that isn't in a KB article
    (c) they are not allowed to post links to any place outside of Microsoft
    (d) your idea here

You can make a bootable CD of XP (no XP media required) Recovery Console.

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and do not forget.

This is not the same as recovery disks that might have come with the acquisition of the system store.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

Why do I need to restart?

    tucktale,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.  If you use Windows XP retail CD while this link will guide you through the installation options: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316941.

It seems that if you use the OEM system recovery CDs are these different CD then the XP retail and the system restore feature is written by the manufacturer.  It may be that it loads the software it needs a partition and then you must restart from the partition at the end of the restoration.  You would be better served by checking with HP on the exact process of the system restore function. Please I need a short-key to quickly switch my blackberry Q10 mode vibration and return to the normal ring tone... As it does not exist in the series "BOLD" (you have only to press and hold the key "#")

Glisser slide down on your home screen, then select Notifications. Set it to normal and close the Notifications. Now drag down and select Notifications again but this time it set on vibrate.

Now, whenever you are in Normal mode and want to toggle it on vibrate, just slide down and tap the bell on the Notifications (not the word but just the Bell) and it it will switch to some notification you had before the current (in this case, vibrator).

    Hello

I was browsing the web when suddenly an error message came up saying ": () your PC of Ran into a problem and must restart." We are only collecting the error information, and then we'll restart for you (0% complete). If you want to learn more, you can search online later to this error. About 5 seconds later, another black screen (just like the "[Failed] Media Control" screen came saying "No Boot Device Found, Click Any Key To Reboot Machine".) I follow on the orientation of the screen for about 5 minutes and it kept giving me the same screens over and over again, no change there view. So I turned off my laptop, waited 30 seconds, back running the computer and he gave "[Failed] Media Control" Message twice, he disappeared and the Dell splash screen came again, he let me not log my computer as usual. This happened to me twice now, and it's extremely frustrating, because now I can't be on my computer for more than a half hour at a time without him doing this again. Also I can't scan the computer for viruses, it's 15 minutes to finish scanning and I get the message 'PC Ran into A Problem'. Can someone please help me understand why this is happening? Very much appreciated.

    Hello

I apologize for the late response.

What is the current status of the issue?

Unplug all external devices connected to the computer except the mouse and keyboard and check for the issue.

I also suggest you to start the computer in safe mode and check.

Start settings for Windows (including safe mode)

KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR error code indicates that the data page of the kernel of the required paging file cannot be read into memory. It could have happened due to graphics card drivers.

Bug CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED control has a value of 0x000000EF. This indicates that a critical system process died.

Buy a new HDD and clone the content across to the new drive using this program...

    http://www.TODO-backup.com/

If you now, it will be a breeze. Everything will work as before and you will always have your recovery partition.

If we leave it until the problem gets worse, you may well end up having to run CHKDSK constantly, files, folders and partitions can get corrupted and you will lose access to your recovery partition for good...

Contact Sony and get restore/recovery of them media as you will probably be impossible to recover the product key and the media they send should not he (and given the novelty of the laptop, I don't think that this should be a problem.)

  • How can I prevent a user to plug in a USB key on a Win7 machine?

I want to prevent the user to plug and use an external player on their machine. I can't find the process. Thanks for the help!

To prevent users from plugging a flash drive, you must plug the USB with Araldite or some similar compounds. Because this would be counterproductive, the answer is 'no', you can't do that.
To prevent users from access data on USB flash drives, you must create this registry key:
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\RemovableStorageDevices\ {53f5630d-b6bf-11d0-94f2-00a0c91efb8b}

Then, you create the value for key data deny_read (Reg_DWord) under this key and set it to 1. The effect will be immediate and will apply to all users. Is it really your intention?
