  • Not able to change, update Windows settings-Windows 8

    Hi all

I have problems with Windows Update settings, I'm not able to change the settings for Windows Update. My parameters are set on the updates but let me choose whether to download or install. I want to change these settings, but the settings are grayed out.

I am the only user of this laptop, my account is the administrator account. The laptop is not a part of any domain or workgroup. I use Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 updated regularly. I scanned my computer for infections and my computer is quite clean.

I have attached a screenshot as well.

Someone can help me with this problem, how can I make changes to windows update settings?

    Thanks in advance.

    Thank you for your answer

I've tried all these steps, but nothing is done, always I'm not able to change the settings. I can get and install the updates manually checking the updates. I want to automatically download and install updates. I also tried Tweaking.com Windows repair all tool that has not worked.

    EDIT:

    Greetings...

I managed to solve the problem. I opened the registry editor with administrator rights sailed to the following reg key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU. and delete all the keys inside the to THE folder.
Restarted the computer and now I am able to change the settings for Windows Update.

    This problem is now resolved.

Win7 when configured on the peer-to-peer network has three types of configurations of sharing.

Group residential network = only works between Win 7 computers. This type of configuration, it is very easy to entry level users to start sharing network.

Working network = fundamentally similar to previous methods of sharing that allow you to control what, how and to whom the records would be shared with.

    Public share
= network Public (as Internet Café) in order to reduce security risks.

If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

  • Keyboard does not, not able to connect on windows xp?

I haven't used my computer for a year or two because I use a cell phone since then. But I wanted to install something more bigger on my computer because it wouldn't work on my laptop, so I tried to log in, BUT there is the problem.

Everything works fine, but when I try to type the password (mouse works), the keyboard will not write, and on windows xp, unlike windows 7 you cannot connect through a virtual keyboard. I tried different types of keyboards and I'm sure that's not the problem. It must be the driver that does not work, but how am I supposed to solve this problem without signing in?

For your information, there are no files on this computer that must be saved, but I don't have a windows CD (Yes long history in brief: my parents divorced we all moved and he probably got lost somewhere...) "I have to buy a new one?)

Is it possible to reset the entire computer without a CD or ignore the password?

    Hi schonokay,

To boot into BIOS Basic Input Output System () procedures vary according to the manufacturer of the BIOS. Usually, you must press a key (for example, F2, F12, DEL, ESC) or a key combination whenever you turn on your computer but before Windows starts.

For more information, see the documentation provided with your computer or go to the website of the manufacturer of the computer.
Note: Be careful when you change the BIOS settings. The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly.
  • HP Laserjet M1319F MFP is not able to scan under Windows 7 (64-bit at home)

I have a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit HP Pavilion connected to the HP Laserjet M1319F MFP. All the functions of the printer worked so far.

The scan function has stopped working. Here are the steps and errors that I see:
    1. I load the sheet from which I scanned in the printer and the printer displays
    2. I start Windows Fax and Scan dialog box and press the button new scanning
    3. New Scan, dialog and I press the Scan button
    4. the printer begins to feed the sheet and displays
    5. immediately after the message that the printer displays the message
I did the following steps to try to fix the scan:
1 uninstalled the printer and it added. Scan still does not work.
    2. I downloaded the latest driver and firmware on HP site updates and installed on the PC and on the printer firmware. I had success on the driver and firmware of the facilities. Scan still does not work.
    3. I ran PC-Doctor hardware diagnostics on the printing device and got a status of success. The Test page printed successfully.
    4. I am able to print documents, but will not scan. I tried both ways - single and multiple - sheets. Scan still does not work.
    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Hi ApolloWZ,

    Thanks for your quick response.

In the meantime, I found the solution to my problem, so I thought I'd share it here for others.

    I found the answer here:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/T5/scanning-faxing-and-copying/can-t-scan-from-M1536dnf-after-reformatting-computers/TD-p/3914820

I will cut & paste the answer below, in which case the link above doesn't work at some point:

    (1) on the computer target under the normal user account, press Start, in the search box type services.msc. Right click on the program that appears and select "Run as Administrator". Enter your user password or click on next to go to the UAC popup, if necessary.
    (2) locate the service called "Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)" and double-click it.
    3) click the connection tab, and then change this service to log on under a Local System account. Click here to allow the service to interact with desktop. And then click OK.
    (4) reboot (or if you really don't want to restart & know what you're doing, you can just stop & restart the WIA service twice)

    See you soon,.

    Gary.
