  Quite honestly I would ignore it, but if you do not want to push a little further you can.  If you open disk management (just type "disk" in your Start menu/screen to find), you should see this drive system (which can be a real player, or just more likely partition).

  From here you can right click and assign a drive letter for a minute so you can explore the disc. Remove the drive letter when you are finished.

  But if that's what I think it is, these volumes being fragmented is usually because they gave no movable system on them, so they will always show as fragmented and since they are read-only will not same the defragmentation process.  It won't slow down your system, however, I am sure of that because he has not assigned a letter, it's guaranteed essentially it is not used for daily operations.

  Defrag does not change the amount of disk space. It only increases or decreases the free space or used.

  Windows defragmentation runs every three days and optimizes the program and load the system boot. This is not controllable. It is also not a defragmentation of data file.

• Queries on running Disk Defragmenter

  I put my computer to run at the scheduled time every month Disk Defragmenter, but as I am not the kind of person who normally prevents their pc on all day, I find that the programme rarely works. Recently, I ran a manual defragmentation ' but it took several hours. When the program began, I had a spinning cursor indicating that the defragmentation process is running. A few hours later, the rotation slider disappeared and a symbol of the tick has indicated that the scheduled defragmentation has been activated.   Looked defragger computer hubbys to see he did not task since 2007!  Considered the responses all over the internet and I am now stuck.

  Scheduled task has been set to automatic but the calendar says 'never' to perform according to defrag.  I went into the services menu to see if disk defragmentation is enabled and it is not there. I can defragment manually, and it seems to take hours.  Anyone know how I can add this new in the services menu so that I can implement to perform tasks automatically.

• Mysterious process

  I was given a computer media center m8200n (AMD 64 / 3 gig of ram) running Vista that has 'problems '. I used the program of recovery to re install and updated to SP 2, etc. Works well. Have installed only yesterday, MSE and Malwarebytes.

  I disabled Windows Defrag in the Task Manager, and there are not enough files causes indexing to run as long.

  I have reviewed msconfig and sees nothing exceptional. I would like to know the best way to identify anything?

  Hello:

  There is a better average of probability it's the Superfetch process.  I put it to manual in mine. The HARD disk after initial start-up activity went faster.
