Access denied when sending for review
One of my users gets an "Access denied" message when you try to send for review. I checked that they are allowed to read, write, edit, and delete access to the file, and their role is set up to allow editing and deleting. What else could be?We provide all of our users access to the _mm folder and MMWIP folder at the root of the site and 'Send for review' now works.

I have a drive mapped to the network, but (My Computer) icon is a folder. I get access denied when I click on the drive. But if I open windows Explorer, I can access the drive mapped without problems. Win Xp

Make sure that the mapped drive is configured to share and works on part.
Auto-mappage will not work if there is a problem with sharing.
Maybe this can help.
Make sure that the software firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall on, Vista/XP Firewall Native should be disabled, and the active firewall has adjusted to your network numbers IP on what is sometimes called the Zone of confidence (see part 3 firewall instructions
General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq#trusted
Please note that some 3rd party software firewall continue to block the same aspects it traffic Local, they are turned Off (disabled). If possible, configure the firewall correctly or completely uninstall to allow a clean flow of local network traffic. If the 3rd party software is uninstalled, or disables, make sure Windows native firewall is active .

Access denied when you try to edit BOOT. INI.
I was using Norton Ghost to clone a drive for one of my clients. The clone has failed for some reason any. After powered my system down to remove the two discs I was working with my system turns on no longer. I get the NTOSKRNL. EXE missing error. I decided to take my hard drive to another computer to check the boot.ini file. The other system is Windows 7. I get ACCESS DENIED when I United Arab Emirates, the attrib command to reset the attributes S & H. I have to take ownership of the file. Can someone help me?
Why don't put you your XP drive afflicted and fix it using the XP Recovery Console?
The situation is usually very simple to solve without moving from your HARD drive to another computer - and how you can fix this if you didn't have another computer to move to-reinstall XP from scratch or 'try' a repair installation? If you had any XP installation CD? (The Uuless Ghost FUBAR had somehow your Windows installation)
You don't have a Recovery Console CD? Make one following the instructions on this link:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic276527.html
If the NTOSKRNL. EXE is really missing, or even suspect, that's just replace it by using the Recovery Console. It is in many other places on your HARD drive - just copy in a replacement and be on your way.
If you have doubts about your boot.ini, just rename or delete (rename boot.ini.bak boot.ini). XP doesn't have a boot.ini file to start in a general single partition configuration. It will complain, but still boot without one if all the other pieces are in place. Your question of the NTOSKRNL. EXE missing error is unlikely to have anything to do with the boot.ini anyway, but you can try things if you wish.
If you want to take the right of a folder/file on a drive that has been moved to another computer, to implement this article:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/308421
I know not if attrib works the same in Windows 7, but XP, you type a command as the start, run or from a command prompt:
attrib - shr c:\boot.ini
It would be 'less' (remove) the attributes system, hidden and read-only.
Here's a boot.ini file General who can help as an example, or after the content of yours, and we can take a look.

"Access denied" when opening files on my 1 TB HARD drive
Well, then I'll start from the beginning.
I have a Seagate 1 TB HDD, I use it for recording with my HDPVR and all my video editing effects and more. Well, on my old computer, Windows XP, I got some weird settings there that all my encrypted files. I tried to put it off, but he wouldn't.In any case, I got a new laptop, it's an ASUS with Windows 7 Home Premium. I'm trying to use some of the files that I used my old computer and put on it.Well, when I open pictures and videos it gives me an error message. To summarize the message because it is different for different types of files. Basically it's saying that I cannot access the files because I do not have the right permissions. With .txt files it won't let me save.I already did the thing where you go to properties, security, etc.Any help?Hi Matt,

Drive access denied when opening PDF files
I noticed this on adobe Reader Versions XI and DC. What happens is whenever someone tries to open a pdf file that has name of file path is greater than 217 characters they will receive the error 'Access denied.' rename the file or move it to a path that has character < = 216 characters users can then open. If you try to save to the location it will appear to have saved, will throw any errors, does not save everything simply.
I upgraded the drive to the new generation of DC. Tested on a new installation of Windows 8.1, I had at my disposal and tested it on all computers 15ish which give the same result. With different PDF documents are both on the internet and made by me using
Acrobat.A few notes.
This only happens on the network drives.
I have access to all the locations of readers, that I tested.
I had another user test this thus giving the same results.
If I add my UNC path name of the file instead of drive letters, the amount is greater than 254.
For example, if the path of the file is H:\My network Drive\Somearbitraryfolders\filename_Greaterthan217.pdf Its always less than the 254 that windows gives to us, but if I add my \\domain\public\drivename\Somearbitraryfolders\filename_Greaterthan217.pdf UNC path so this eqauls more than 254.
So even if I can move files to this location by going through drive letters, stick them in, all that Jazz. As the reader is concerned it is the limit of windows, and may not be able to do something with it.
If the Player looks at the UNC path instead of drive letters?
If so is there a way for him to watch the drive letters?
A quick edit. I just found this
Known issues | Acrobat DC, CD player
Problem: error access denied when you try to open the PDF file of the symlink via UNC path [3844582]
So, I'm going to assume that the answer to my question is no. All that I can do is hope for a update or tell my users not to do ridiculously long paths.

Send for review ONLY by e-mail
I have a client that is configured as a "Publisher" and I'm the 'administrator '. When she presses the button "Send for review", it does not get the dialog box asking if she wants to send by e-mail or via contribute - it simply will start its program of email with the link in the message. Of course this means that I can see, but not to revise it.
I can't find anything in the preferences on one of our computers to restore this dialog box. (She uses a trial of CS3, mine is v3, by the way.) Someone at - it that happen?

If you have logged into your site using the latest version of
CS3 contribute, please make sure that you 'administer' the site atleast once.
This will fix all your email problems. The reason for this is
because CS3 contribute has some other parameters of Directors as
Incorporation/PDF link, etc. So if you just connect to your site with
latest version of CS3 contribute and administers it, then the hub
file does not have the new settings... I know it cannot clarify you
Altogether, but yes... Administer with CS3 contribute should solve
your problem... Also not that once administered with a higher version, you
It cannot administer with lower versions. -
I get "access denied" when you try to add the component 4543BD
I get "access denied" when you try to add the 4543BD to my diagram. This component has been added since a previous version. I use Multisim version 12.0.0 student edition.
Hi Diarra,
I checked my database and the 4543 isn't in the student edition. If you open a drawing that was created in a version more recent as the education edition and copied the part to your database, when you place this part, you will get the access denied message.
Attached is a diagram with the part, you can open it and build you circuit around it.

Photoshop cs4 access denied when you try to install from disk in Windows 7 64 bit.
Photoshop cs4 access denied when you try to install from disk in Windows 7 64 bit. I tried in
safe mode and it starts to install, but get an error there as well.
What should I do?
So when you put the disk in it does not work properly? When the disc is inserted, you should have a window pop up with 2 options. 1. install and another to see what is on the disk. Choose to open the disc or explore. Navigate to the folder where is the photoshop CS4 .exe file (which runs the Setup program), right-click on the .exe file and choose Run as administrator and it should start. See if it will install. If this isn't the case, then read below.
I don't know how long you got in the installation until so chances are, you will need to run the CS4 Cleanup utility. 2 levels to run but do not use 1 or 2 just type number 3.
http://www.Adobe.com/support/contact/cs4clean.html
You may need to run the utility windows install cleanup too
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/290301
Before you try to reinstall the software make sure that adobe reader is not installed. If it is delete. It has caused problems in the past with vista and CS4 installs.
You can also disable windows Defender and all antivirus software. You can keep UAC Windows 7.
When installing CS4 to 90 percent, it stops almost and may take 5 to 10 minutes at the end. It's normal. What a pain huh...
After the installation is complete, restart
After restarting, go to the icon of CS4 64-bit or 32-bit (depends on 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7) in the starting area, right-click on CS4 64-bit (if you have windows 7 64 bit), and then choose Properties, Compatibility tab, and then check run as administrator at the lower part. Hit apply, ok to finish.
Now, run CS4 and run the update.

FDM to HFM: 'Access denied' when clicking on browse for target value
Hi all
I am a newbie in FDM. I am facing the following problem: whenever I try to map an account to an account in FDM HFM, I click on "Browse for target value. Each time, this gives an error: 'access denied '. The detailed error is:
+ "Error: access denied." +
+ Error reference number: {071079A5-AEB1-4B53-A777-F0CDE57B9433} +.
NUM: 0x80070005; Type: 1; DTime: 10/06/2010 02:52:58; SVR: IN-CCUBICOE2; File: CHsxClient.cpp; Line: 428; Worm: 11.1.1.3.0.2413; +.

+ Line At: 393 "+"
Our deployment configuration (in a nutshell) is as follows:
IN-CCUBICOE2 server: A FDM (services and the web app)
IN-CCUBICOE3 server: A HFM (services and the web app)
FDM is configured with a local account to the server IN CCUBICOE2. This account is used to configure the application server process, application pool, etc., as well as to register the load balancer adapter.
HFM is configured with a different account local server IN CCUBICOE3.
I tried fiddling around with profiles machine in my cards. The current setting is:
Source: IN-CCUBICOE2
Target: IN-CCUBICOE3
(In the part of the credentials, I give the Hyperion credentials or windows credentials?)
The connection method is configured as unified. (but I also tried Global etc.)
(I installed the HFM client in the server of the CCUBICOE2-IN - residence of FDM and added the cluster of application like IN-CCUBICOE3 - to whom I can connect using the HFM customer)
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thank you
Chrystelle
Published by: sayantan.mondal on June 10, 2010 03:14Definitely. The local account with the same uid/pwd must exist on the servers of FDM, HFM and if the local account you created in the box of HFM, must exist in the FDM with the same uid/pwd box, and must be a member of the local administrator group. The same for the Local FDM account, it must exist on the servers of HFM and be a member of the local administrator group.
We urge the user to a domain service account to avoid having to create multiple instances of local accounts as you currently see.

Hello
I have a thin client HP 5740e and for some reason any local user account requires a password change. Yet, when I try to change the password it says access denied. And yet, I can't it to allow me to move to another counts as administrator to open a session. I held down the SHIFT key during startup, but it always goes straight to this local user account & the expired password prompt. I'm stuck in an infinite loop and do not know how to cope. Safe mode puts me in the same situation. And I can't update the BIOS because I can't have everything.
OS = Windows Embedded Standard 7
I also tried to reinstall the last image of the HP Web site using a USB key, but it fails every time. I tried 2 different USB drives with the same exact error no each.
Image, try to install = SP56020
ERROR: An unexpected condition has occurred
Does anyone have a suggestion?
I finally could get as an administrator using RDP to my office. I didn't know the name of thin client lacked a figure, that's why I've been unsuccessful before that.
Once I got away, I could watch the local user account permissions. Now I see what was wrong.
[Check] The user cannot change password
[Disabled] Password never expires
I still don't know why I couldn't install a new image of the plant, but at least I am now able to work with this device. I also disabled the automatic connection at the moment.
