Hi thesunny,

Make sure you use the correct credentials. What error gives when you try to connect? If you cannot log in or have forgotten your name of user and password, you can press in and hold the reset button on the back of the unit for 15 seconds or until the device restarts.

    Hi altagumasi,

  • Iomega StorCenter ix2 Network Storage Cloud Edition upgrade 3.0.9

    Hello world

I have an Iomega StorCenter ix2 Network Storage Cloud Edition (ix2-200).

The NAS is currently leading the 3.0.9 software, which is the version it comes with.

The 'upgrade' button in the web interface does nothing, while the NAS should be able to run the 4.1 software being a "Cloud Edition".

Can someone tell me the procedure to upgrade the 3.0.9 software for the latest possible?

    See you soon,.

    Filippo

Nope. I know that you won't be able to pass the 'border' 3.2.6 join .x:
"3.3.2 below is unable to upgrade to version 4.1.102.29716.

  • Iomega StorCenter ix2-200

I had the ix2 for a while, it worked perfectly. Once before, one of the drives has failed and I got a replacement of Iomega. Reconciled unity drives and everything was fine. Since then the camera has worked flawlessly again so far.

During the last two weeks, the player became undetectable on the network of one of the two computers in the sharing network. The white light on the front flashes constantly. There is no indication that the drive is alive. I removed the disc and individually attempted to find any content on them. There are two partitions on each, but I can't get windows 7 to read on the part of the partitions. I don't know how they are formatted.

(Or both) installed in the ix2, still just white light flashes on relentlessly. With no disc in the ix2, the light still flashes. Press and hold the power or reset button and power cycling the unit have no effect of the flashing light.

What can I do? I have just the scrap drive and say good bye to my data?

    ARK,

You will need to contact a professional data recovery service if you need data from these readers.

The only thing that we can do that could get the NAS to start in the situation you describe is destructive data.

  • Iomega StorCenter ix2-200 how automatically save everything on the NAS to my external HARD drive?

Hey, I have a WD 3 TB my book around the pose I want to connect to my IX2-200 and use the external hard drive to automatically back up everything that's stored on my NAS.

    How can I do this?

    Thank you.

Not sure wheter ix2 is able to work with > 2 TB is spread over its USB ports, but normally you would create a copy job that contains "all directories".

If your ix2 doesn't detect your USB, try to repartition your drive USB-2 to + 1 TB

  • How small discs I put in the Iomega StorCenter ix2 - dl?

I'm sure it sounds like a crazy question, but I have a client who is not really need terabytes of storage on their NAS. 2 2 x 500 GB drives would be more than enough. They need to back up both PC.

I saw a table here https://lenovo-na-en.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/30797 that specifies approved 1 to 3 to disk. What small readers and why?

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Russel

    Hi RDFouts,

500 GB drives should work as long as they are a manufacturer reputible, like the ones we have on our list of approved readers. Additionally, make sure that both hard drives are of the same manufacturer, capacity, and speed control.

  • KB3011780 breaks my network of Retrospect on my HP 6300 system backups

I installed KB3011780 on a system HP 6300 (Windows 7 Pro SP1 64 bit with all the other patches published to date).  We use Retrospect 7.7 on this system to make backups to a hard drive connected locally, on the network to an Iomega StorCenter ix2 - 200 NAS (now supported by Lenovo).  The backups worked without any problems for a long time.  The ix2-200 has Firmware Version 2.1.44.30050 which is updated.

Over this last weekend, Retrospect tried to re-create the backups ("recycle") one of the network, but failed half way through the process.  I restarted the backup, and it has not yet.  I rebooted the NAS and backup Windows system, restarted and there still fail.  I stopped the Windows system and did a thorough relocation of the entire network and cable USB, just on the off chance that I was getting an intermittent failure, but the backup has failed yet after that I did the reboot.

Here is a typical error log showing the messages of Retrospect when a failure occurs (with more compressed white space):

    + Normal backup using backup B at 24/11/2014 14:16
For the backup set Backup Set B...

    -24/11/2014 14:16:06: copy of OS (c :))
Additional error information for the member disk backup set ' 1-Backup Set B, "

    Misspelled: "1-Backup Set B" (2623012864), error - 116 (volume does not exist)

    24/11/2014 14:57:57: incomplete execution

    Completed: 75 files, 1.1 GB

Cannot compress the file catalog by Backup Set Backup Set B, 1100 error (invalid handle)
Unable to save the Backup Set Backup Set B, 1100 error (invalid handle)

Since these backups had worked well in the past, I decided to see if the recent patch for KB3011780 could cause problems.  I removed the patch and restarted the Retrospect backup.  He ran to the end without any problem.  To confirm that the patch was probably the cause of the breakdowns, I restarted the recycling backup early, which causes the entire contents of my drive (c :)) system, a process that takes several hours of IO intensive network backup.  It finished without any problems.

I don't know enough about the technicalities of Retrospect how its I/O across the network to the StorCenter NAS but I guess it's using normal file system operations any.  He does know that it is a device in a network, and not a local device.  But obviously, the network i/o fails and removed KB3011780 (and do anything else that the reboot of the system required and then by restarting the program backup) fact errors disappear.

I removed the patch from two other systems that make backups on my NAS and hidden on each of them.  So far, I saw no problems with it on any of our other Windows 7 systems.

Reported problems with this update, it is not impacting each user win7

(it is not installed no problem here with our backups)

  • Help NAS

I'm looking for a place to stop peripheral storage to store a few models and backups in case of disaster.  Can the device below the work and is supported by Vmware?  I tried to find in the list, but could not.

NETGEAR ReadyNAS 2100 4 to, 1U rack storage network w / Dual Gigabit Ethernet (http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=1762397)

NAS device must support NFS v3 over TCP and the root user (no_root_squash).

In HCL, there are only a few devices listed.

But there are several devices 'low cost' that might work.

For example: Iomega StorCenter ix2 Network Storage

  • Affordable NAS solution?

I'm looking for a NAS solution to use for installation of lab at home.  something under $500 if possible.  I saw a post a person was using a single hard drive QNAP, but according to vmware and QNAP it is not supported.  I don't want to build a PC with Linux, I'd stick with a device any.  Thank you

I would check the Iomega StorCenter ix2 - it is on the HCL and should be well within your given budget.  They come in varieties of TB 1 and 2 (the two configs in mirror, providing less than half of the capacity on the box as value by default - you'll love rounded - and can be reconfigured in a JBOD configuration if you need the space).  Management is via a web browser.

A laboratory performance is quite good, even acceptable for a small production environment.  There's rumor that later this year via a firmware update, they will get two Jumbo frames (which should help the performance a bit) and code of iSCSI target, so they cannot be stuck as NFS devices forever.

I replaced my home file server with a pair of these - one dedicated to the ESX boxes in the lab and the other for general data storage for everything else.

    Just my 2 cents,

  • Iomega ix2 200 direct access by ethernet without a router

How to access the ix2 200 via ethernet to the laptop without a router? I tried with a DHCP server. It is assigned an ip address for laptops and 200 IX2. but when ping destination host could not be reached pop message up.packets sent 4, received 4 Can anyone help? assigned ip address 169.254.0.2 for ix2 200, 169.254.0.3 laptop.

Your suggestion does not solve the problem. But I saw the NAS via router initially and then set a fixed ip address for the NAS in the settings. OK now.

I need something different - I would like to just a regular FTP server that would be available to anyone on the internet URL ftp://blahblahblah.mylenovoemc.com fe

    Is it still possible?

    all the best

    Leszek

Yes, it's possible; at least with the ix2 - dl, because that's what I have. Your router must be able to port forwarding TCP 21 to the ix2 network I.P. address. As long as others can hit your router or DDNS address associated with, that they reach your SIN by FTP. If the ix2 is configured with the default of multimedia access permissions, FTP access to those records out this address designated or authorized users can FTP with their powers, for example ftp://username:[email protected]. (code = password. * beep * HTML converts in asscode in an emoji!)
