Access to the "all programs" menu

I press the button 'Start' and then get the Menu that contains the element "all programs." However when I press it I get all prograammes on the computer, but a list of file numbers which are those assigned by the computer for different photos I have taken. There is no star of the programs that are on the computer.  I'm trying to get some "Accessories" and then "Disk Defragmenter" and "disk clean up". all to nothing does not. How can I reverse this please?

May not solve your problem, but generally the first line of attack is to do a system restore.
If you remember the date of your list of all the programs were there, and it was not longer than 10-15 days, use this 'good' date as your restore point.

Start button > Search box, type system restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, until the click > next > finish
To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

Note: (Optional) in most cases, it is more preferable to do in safe mode system restore.
Here's how to get safe mode:

Shut down your computer > turn it back on and immediately and repeatedly tab key F8 until you see a black and white screen. The top/down arrow and select Safe Mode.

  • Windows 7, the "All PROGRAMS" area; HOW TO COMBINE?

I have approximately 65 downloaded games that I play a lot. I have them in a folder on my desktop.  It of great, works perfectly, HOWEVER, they are listed individually under my all PROGRAMS on the start menu.  How can I get them in a single folder in this area?  They take too much space and do the ALL PROGRAMS so long, it is difficult to find a program that I'm looking for.   I have to scroll all game names!

Understand? Can someone tell me how to manipulate the area of all THE PROGRAMS?

See if you can rearrange shortcuts to program in one of these locations.

Location of the Start Menu of the user is

    C:\Users\usernamexxxx\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\ for specific user.

While the Start Menu generally used by most installers and accessible by all users is C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu.

Watch the "Programs" folder in each location.

The best way to access these two places is right click on the link to all of the programs in the menu start and click Open or open all users for each location respectively.

ProgramData is a hidden folder, you may need to set the display of records (Control Panel / folder Options) to display the hidden files and folders if you want access to these locations.

If your username does not create or read a file in one of these locations look at the tab security and access permissions.

I have a windows 7 64-bit and I am the administrator, but when I try to download flash player, it says that I don't have access to the installation program, now I'm without flash and almost nothing works. Any ideas?

First of all, try to enable Active Scripting in the areas of Sites Internet Options, security settings, trust.

You should also add a corrupted on.

    Click Start, type: Internet Options

    Press enter

    Select the "Advanced" tab

Under reset Internet Explorer settings, click "reset".

This should restore the Internet Explorer default settings.

  • Cannot access Internet and all programs on the start menu. How to get rid of a virus on windows xp

I was recently given a hand computer (compaq I tthink) so I'm not clear about all the fancy stuff to the extent of the ect CPU... but I know it has windows xp pro. in any case, a friend used my computer and for some reason any felt the need to download a program called 7-zip. Now, my computer is screwed... In the start menu > all programs, everything has disappeared! And I can access the system restore in normal boot and safe mode, but the window remains empty, we never really gave me the opportunity to use it. Oh and I can't get online in normal or safe boot mod either, what can I do?

Original title: how to get rid of a virus on windows xp proremove a virus from windows xp pro

    Hello

    1. Why do you think that the computer is infected with the virus? See you pop - unwanted ups or odd behavior of all programs?

2 have you made any changes to the computer before the show?

    3. did you run any online scanners to remove infections?

    4. What is the antivirus installed on the computer program?

Method 1: Run a scan antivirus on your computer.

    www.Microsoft.com/Security/Scanner

Note: If infections are detected during the scan, there is a risk of data loss because infected files will be deleted.

Method 2: Safe mode with networking

Step 1: Check if you can browse the Internet with success in Mode safe mode with networking.

Networking Mode safe mode starts Windows in mode safe mode and includes the network drivers and services needed to access the Internet or other computers on your network.

A description of the options to start in Windows XP Mode

Step 2: Put the computer in a State of boot is a way to know which application is causing this problem.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

Step 1: Follow the steps in the link below to do the same thing:

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as shown here:

Step 2: To configure Windows to use a Normal startup state

After you have used the boot is a way to solve your problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    1. Click Start and then click Run.
    2. Type msconfig and click OK. The System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.
    3. Click the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.
    4. When you are prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

    Method 3:

Create a new user account and verify if you are able to access the program in the start menu.

Try to connect with a different user has administrator rights account and then create a new user account.

For more information, see these links:

How to create and configure user accounts in Windows XP

    I hope this helps.

  • "all programs" + "menu" + screenshots

Over time, I modified the "All Users", "My Name" & "Default user" folders listed in the files of programs start.
However, once when I changed the records available in the 'All Users' files specifically remove "Accessories".
folder and some elements of the "System Tools" folder, it has also affected the folder 'My Name '.

What I'm trying to find is a list of directories tree style text or screen captures, names of the records & the
programs in a STOCK, a FRESH win XP SP3 INSTALL.

I found all kinds of things relating to customization.  This isn't what I need.
I found all kinds of things relating to the restoration as a result of the elimination of the virus. I have also useless.

If I new what all folder names were, I would just recreate them, what I did for MOST, but not all.
If I new what all .exe, .com, .cpl, .msc, etc., those too, I could re - create.  I did that for a lot less I want.

Any help would be greatly appreciated that I prefer not to do a fresh install of Win XP SP3 and cross all the fun

I do not have the specific video drivers, sound or network need this computer, but I doubt that he would be on the list of files.  Let me know if this gives you what you need. I'll wait a little while before I have to FDisk the drive back empty.

  • Start "All programs" menu empty file (Windows Vista)

All my programs on my menu start "all programs" folder disappeared. There are a few but those I recently downloaded. Accessories is not yet there. I searched all cases online to find the authors response to repopulate my all programs, but without success.

I have restarted my computer several times. I did an analysis of checker (SFC) to file system. I ran a registry by Uniblue Fixer; I tried antivirus scans and analyses ad-aware; nothing seems to work. I still have all my programs and have lost but they are simply not easy access and I really want to take the time to build my own folder "all programs." I really want my old one back. But how?

And P.S. I can't just restore because I never ran a backup before, so there is nothing to restore.

    Thank you!!!

1.) open the path below, replace the {username} with your own login
    Start\program C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start
2.) look if there is nothing there. If there is not something, it means it is initially empty. Meaning, it could have been deleted accidentally away.

Recovery of most of them back
1.) go to the path below, with a different name as {username} by default or user
    Start\program C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start
2.) copy them through your way with your {username} don't forget not to vote also useful for others and to accept the proposed response, if it is relevant build it KB in this Forum.

  • Delete an EMPTY FOLDER in the all programs list.

SuperAntiSpyware uninstalled from my computer. Now, the name appears in the list of programs, when you click on the Start button.

I can't find out how to remove the empty file with the name of SuperAntiSpyware.

    Thanks guys...

What happens if you right click and select "remove from this list"?

The above is that if you have a shortcut for SuperAntiSpyware in the main part of the start menu.  If you mean that when you click on "All programs" you still see a folder named "SuperAntiSpyware" then open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start start\program and delete the folder "SuperAntiSpyware".

  • OptiPlex 755 denies access to the boot sequence menu.

Found a weird problem on an Optiplex 755 Desktop Tower System.

I can change other values available on the system, but cannot get into the boot sequence menu.  The BIOS that was on the system was A17.

    Updated the A20. No change.

Oh. It wasn't later. Upgrade to A21.  No change.

Downgraded to A12.  No change. Faced A21. No change.

Demoted in A10. No change. Faced A21. No change.

Decommissioned at A01. No change. A21 encountered no change.

If there is a password on the system when I tried to access the boot sequence menu it reminded me that I needed to type first. After correctly entering this value, the guest went away, but I still couldn't get into the boot sequence.

I removed the battery cmos for 20 minutes while the system has been disabled, it put, started. No change.

I replaced the battery cmos with that of another system.  No change.

    Tried another keyboard. No change.

The jumper to reset the cmos.  No change.  A run the utilities on board.  No error could be found.

If I hold the Enter key while on the boot sequence menu I can see the screen initial start-up and glimmers of it will not advance to the next screen.

Unplugged the system and pressed the button for 30 to 60 seconds. No change.

I think it's ripe for a replacement under warranty.

    Event_Horizon.

I know that this response comes a little late, but for someone else has this problem...

    IT CAN BE FIXED!

This problem seems to arise after a BIOS updated completely flashing properly. That leaves the user unable to change the boot device priority in BIOS, causing therefore the machine complaining that there, there is "No Boot Device available"

Making level and the average standard BIOS downgrade do not seem to work; However with some switches it can be done.

First of all, you need the BIOS first release, A01 (O755-A01. (EXE), currently available from http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=R164252

Second, you will need also the latest version of the BIOS, A22 (O755-A22. (EXE), currently available from http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=2DWTY

Lastly, you need a USB stick or hard drive which is able to boot the machine in DOS. It is recommended to use the free 'Rufus' tool to create a bootable FreeDOS. Rufus is currently available at https://rufus.akeo.ie/

In addition, you may need to install jumper on the motherboard service mode; This repair was completed successfully with him helped, although it * might * work without it installed, although this has not been tested.

First create a FreeDOS using Rufus bootable USB device. When complete, copy the two BIOS A01 (O755-A01. (EXE) and BIOS A22 (O755-A22. (EXE) to the root of the memory stick.

Insert the memory stick into the computer, and then press F12 for BIOS. Boot from the USB key. Once at the DOS prompt, type:

    O755-A01 - wipeall - wipeclean

Press on enter and follow the prompts on the screen. After the BIOS has been flashed, the computer must restart. Go into the BIOS and check the options under system boot sequence. The boot sequence should now not only display the name of your hard drive, but will be variable, allowing your computer to start normally. Set up your BIOS Setup to your liking (including date and time setting) and save it then & leave. After the reboot, press F12 again and start once more the USB device.

Flash the BIOS A22 the standard way by typing O755-A22 pressing on enter. Follow the prompts on the screen. Once the BIOS has been flashed, check the settings of the BIOS again to make sure that the Boot Device menu is always available.

Once finished, be sure to remove the rider of mode of service (if installed).

    FAQ

    Why it works?

From what I can tell, the previous BIOS flashing tool includes switches that later versions are not. -wipeclean - and wipeall are an integral part of this fix works as they completely erasing all the BIOS settings that are not usually deleted when the BIOS is updated. For some reason, Dell has removed these BIOS update tools options later.

In addition, the previous BIOS flashing tool actually flashes the BIOS itself DOS rather than rely on the BIOS RAM loading and then Flash with routines in the BIOS of the current system. I have no idea if that makes a difference in the process, but I imagine that it allows more options to pass to the routine of flashing.

Sorry for the long post, but I hope this helps someone! Having recently put his hands on a couple of these machines and having the same problem, it's incredibly frustrating.

  • Organize the all programs list in group folders

Up to Windows 7, I could combine my programs in the list of all programs into folders (such as 'Software Development Apps' or 'Windows Apps').  But I'm not (so far) able to do this with Windows 7 and my programs list is too big.  Is there a way to group applications in Windows 7?

    Hi Dcowan,

    ·         What happens when you try to drag and drop programs in the folder?

Personally, I tried to consolidate programs in all programs in Windows 7 and I was able to do the same.

You should be able to do the same thing.

You can select the program in all programs, drag the program to the necessary folder where you want to add and drop.

  • If I have 64-bit and 32-bit on the same computer, do I have access to the same programs and data?

Currently, my system is Windows 7 64 bit with 8 GB of RAM. I know that the 32-bit version can use only 2 GB but it runs on a computer that has more, right? Assuming I'm right about that, if I install both, should I rate the same programs and data?

You can install the two operating systems on a player, but you must create a separate partition for one of them.
You can share data, but not the programs that each application must be installed in each version.
That said, I see no benefit in the same version of Windows, but with different pieces of dual-boot. Why would you do?
