Start "All programs" menu empty file (Windows Vista)
All my programs on my menu start "all programs" folder disappeared. There are a few but those I recently downloaded. Accessories is not yet there. I searched all cases online to find the authors response to repopulate my all programs, but without success.
I have restarted my computer several times. I did an analysis of checker (SFC) to file system. I ran a registry by Uniblue Fixer; I tried antivirus scans and analyses ad-aware; nothing seems to work. I still have all my programs and have lost but they are simply not easy access and I really want to take the time to build my own folder "all programs." I really want my old one back. But how?
And P.S. I can't just restore because I never ran a backup before, so there is nothing to restore.
Thank you!!!
1.) open the path below, replace the {username} with your own login
Start\program C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start
2.) look if there is nothing there. If there is not something, it means it is initially empty. Meaning, it could have been deleted accidentally away.
Recovery of most of them back
1.) go to the path below, with a different name as {username} by default or user
Start\program C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start
2.) copy them through your way with your {username} don't forget not to vote also useful for others and to accept the proposed response, if it is relevant build it KB in this Forum.

Yesterday, I noticed that when I click on "All programs" in the Start Menu, there are all the programs listed. I can still access all of C:\Program Files, so I know that I've accidentally deleted all the programs. Is it possible to restore them to "all programs"? Attached is a link to my "All programs" list look like now.
Hi LisaEB,
1. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?
It seems that if you have something close to 70 or more shortcuts/folders in the all users folders & Start Menu/user combined program, the list of all programs will eventually be empty or empty. Check the number of recent programs that can be displayed in the Start Menu.
Method 1:
a. click Windows orb to open the Start Menu.
b. right-click on all programs, and then select open.
c. double-click the folder programs. There should be a list of folders.
d. create a new folder.
e. Select a bunch of files in the folder programs and drag the folders to the new folder.
f. restart your computer and check if the programs are shown when you click on start > all programs.
g repeat the above steps until the list is displayed in all programs.
Method 2:
You can also try the following steps and check if it helps...
Important: This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click the following windows Help article.
a. Click Start and type regedit.exe.
b. Select regedit in the search list.
c. now, navigate to the following keys:-
HKEY CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Foldersd. the value of Start Menu to "%USERPROFILE%\Start Menu".
e. go to HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders.
f. common value Start Menu to "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Start Menu.
g. close the registry editor and restart the machine.
Hope this information is useful.

I lost my accessory under Start, all programs, and accessibility.
Original title: Technical Support.
I have Windows XP Home Professional with Service Pack 3. I lost my accessory under Start, all programs, and accessibility. I want to use the calculator, but he's not here, I mean Windows components. They were deleted for a reason. He questioned the Service Pack 3 Cd, but I have only the CD with Service Pack 2. How can I reinstall them?
System File Checker will not work for you for two reasons:
- He will ask the installation CD XP sp3 - which is not
- Even if you have the correct CD, this isn't what SFC
Instead, see AccRestore - restores the missing Accessories group shortcut (this is a web site with confidence you can securely download the zip file, after you download the file, do a right click and "Extract all" and then double-click on the extracted exe file)

""
Hello
You can use this Recovery Partition to reinstall Vista to his new condition with the right edition of Vista.
This recovery partition was photographed on your hard drive by HP during the manufacturing of the factory.
You press F11 on startup to start the process of recovering back to factory settings.
Here is the information about HP.
http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/document?DocName=c00809678&LC=en&DLC=en&cc=us&product=18703
If the recovery partition is damaged, you can buy HP's Vista recovery discs for a small fee.
If HP's Vista recovery disks, you may need to try this instead:
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:
"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html
And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

How to restore corrupted files windows vista system (audiosvc, audioendpointbuilder)
My audio service seems to be corrupted. When I start in safe mode and stop the sound service, then restart works fine. When I turn on the audio service then the computer crashes immediately.
How can I locate audio files windows vista 64 and re-install them.Hello
Make sure you have the latest audio drivers for vista for your computer which you can get your site of card manufacturers sound or computer
go to their website and look for a driver and software download section
Enter your model number for the last look drivers vista then download and install
also run the sfc/scannow command.
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833
Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
- Type the following command and press ENTER:sfc/scannow

Hello
I downloaded Flash Player 11 (latest) and installed.
Installation progress bar reaches end that seemed to fill.
But FlashPlayer does not appear under windows ' start > all programs.
There is no "FlashPlayer" folder under "Program files > Adobe" as well.
Anyone help?
What is missing or wrong on my installation?
Thank you
togayan
OK, now I understand: you need a Flash Player to play the local .swf files.
You can't do that with add-on browser, you will need the standalone Flash Player (projector) for this. You can download it from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
Note that downloading is the player, not an installer, so you'll need to make the association of file manually.
I suggest you place the player downloaded as well as other Flash files
on 32 - bit systems: C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash
on 64 - bit systems: C:\Windows\syswow64\Macromed\Flash

Too many programs listed to display correctly in "start - all programs.
When I 'start' 'All programs' there are programs on the far right of the screen that are not completely.
Right click on the Start button and choose "Open All Users" (or simply open if you have set things so that other users on your computer do not see the same list of "All programs" you do).
Double-click it to open the folder programs.
Create subfolders (File > New > folder) and move the links in them if necessary.
For example, I have 3 different apps that I can use to display files of different types: ACDSee, IrfanView, and QuickViewPlus. Rather than having 3 entrances separated on my list of all programs, I created a folder named viewers of files and records containing shortcuts to the applications in there.

Product key bad for the wrong version?
Hello
Recently the computer in business inherited from a friend, very fast and very good. Regardless of the operating system no - geniue, is with Vista Business, while the thumbnail of authentication is Vista Ultimate. I took a screenshot of what it says when I put Vista Ultimate product key: (it does not appear if you are unable to use it: P)
http://S13.PostImage.org/57nfn5pqv/vistareg.jpg
He said: "the product key you entered will not work with this edition of Windows Vista. You must run the Windows Vista Setup program or enter a Windows Vista Business product key."
How would the installation of Windows Vista? My files would still be there when you need him? My drivers would still exist? No matter what to get deleted or become unusable? He would return to SP1? Any response is welcome.
You can order form of the manufacturer's recovery media.
The reason why the system as non-authentique shows currently is using a license in Volume KMS - these licenses must be re-activated at least every 6 months by connecting to the KMS user license activation server.
It will require a reformat and reinstall whatever you do, unless you can connect to the KMS - Volume media server cannot be upgraded under normal conditions.

Hello omontesg. I understand you're wondering how to disable your instant on software. Is this correct?
There are two ways, one of the inside of Windows and the other from the BIOS to disable this feature. Please see this support document for instructions on how to turn on or off.
