I have windows vista and for some reason, he tells me I need to activate it. When I write in the code it says it is already in use. However it is only used for this computer. I can't access anything, including the start menu. I need help

You must use the automated phone activation line to solve the problem:
To activate Windows by phone

  1. Click Start, click all programs , and then click Activate Windows.
  2. In Windows Product Activation, select Yes, I want to telephone a customer technician to activate Windows.
  3. After you have selected the appropriate location, you are provided with a telephone number and an installation ID that you can give to the customer service representative to complete the activation process.

"Sometimes Microsoft offers updates for the 3rd party hardware: graphics, network cards, etc..

You should only get the latest drivers for them to real hardware manufacturer's website, as Microsoft normally does nor those have the most recent drivers available as Microsoft relies of the 3rd party hardware Manufactuer to provide.

But unfortunately, the only way to know which is the update of the problem is to install them one by one, until you find the 'wrong' for your installation.

You can do a system restore to get back until it has been installed (which is NOT the best way to remove an update) or follow this method:

    'Remove an update'

    Or the other of these two update settings will give you the chance to see what you want to install through Windows updates;

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

But remember you normally only have problems with hardware 3rd party drivers. Other updates are to improve the performance and security of your system"

    Hello

1st thing to try is the system in safe mode restore to before the problem

    http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

    Windows Vista

    Using the F8 method:

    1. Restart your computer.
    2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
    3. Select the Safe Mode option with the arrow keys.
    4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
    6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

If that does not solve it read more

    read the tutorial below

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/130095-user-profile-service-failed-logon-user-profile-cannot-loaded.html

When you log on a Windows Vista-based or a Windows 7 computer by using a temporary profile, you receive the following error message:

The user profile Service has not logon. User profile cannot be loaded.

Your user profile was not loaded correctly! You have been logged on with a temporary profile.

If you tried to log on to Windows and received an error message telling you that your user profile is damaged, you can try to fix it. You will need to create a new profile and then copy the files from the existing to the new profile. You must have at least three user accounts on the computer to perform these operations, including the new account that you created.

and if you need to reinstall vista, here are the different ways to do it:

Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

  • No access to Windows Vista Home Premium more - need help please!

    Hello

I made the most stupidest mistake by not creating a password reset disk.  I have one account administrator, and this is my account, I use as well.  I am currently logged in as "guest".  I tried to create a password reset disk from another computer with Vista Home Premium and tried to reset my password, but can not, as happens with an error.  Now, I know that there must be a way to get new.  I have an idea of what is my password, but I could have made a typo when I re-printing and since disconnecting and tried to reconnect to test, it didn't.  Lycky for me, I have activated the Geust account for a friend to use.  So now I'm stuck.  I need to reconnect, so I'm desperate, and re - install Windows is not an option either.  Pretty anyone can help me please.  I tried all combinations and tried to make deliberate typos to see if I can get the correct password, but not to go at all.  And the geust account limit me to access what it is, I can't install of the software, it asks me my administrator password.  Is there another way around it.  Please please help.  If there is anything I can do in Windows, there's a few other kindof thing I can do at least.  All that will be a great help.

  • No access to Windows Update in Windows Vista safe mode with network

Since yesterday every time I connect normally to Windows Vista, the programs stop responding at random and nothing works Manager tasks even not so I am forced to close it manually, the only way that I normally use my computer is in safe mode

I googled and someone who has had a similar problem to mine all downloaded updates critical to windows update and that seems to fix the problem

My question is how can I access Windows Update in Safe Mode with network, because when I click on start - Windows Update, nothing happens and I cannot use windows install either.

    Thank you

    Hi Renee,.

Please use the Community Forums for Vista.

Probably not the cause, but enabling it does update race and there is probably a problem there.

Well, let's see. If all your restore points are gone, it's bad. Often, it is a virus.

Here's what we need. Error codes, messages, etc.

If no pop up, go into the event viewer (just type in the search bar) and look in the logs of Windows, Applications, and system folders. Please only after the event. We just need the event id and the application causing him.

Here's what you can do in the meantime.

Run the checker system files and chkdsk.

Get back to us with error messages and follow the directions below.

    Follow these steps.

Type cmd into the search bar and press to enter.

The chkdsk command line type, then press on enter.

If it finds errors, type chkdsk /f to repair.

Once that is complete, insert your windows installation disc in the drive and return to the command prompt. Type sfc/scannow, and then enter.

I bought a new computer, and it came with Windows Vista Home Basic SP1. I've updated every day and a great success until this. When I tried to install after pressing accept on the license agreement screen, when it says computer preparation. I get an error indicating that the Installation has failed. I also tried some work around and find myself without success. So far, I turned my (even uninstalled), kaspersky internet security ran system update tool, disable most of the startup process, reset the permissions in my registry and created a new user with privileges to administrator, but when I access the user created recently, after the box at the top left corner that says personilizing (in the classic windows theme) need me just a blue screen error-free. But I can still access the Task Manager and its been like that since.

  • Could not access Console in Fallout 3 in Windows Vista... How to disable MIRC?

I bought the game Fallout 3 a few weeks ago and has recently wanted to access the game console command line, but the game does not recognize the support of the tilde (~) key.  I spent many hours trying to figure out why this is the case, and I got three main answers:

    1. change the size of the screen that you can 'see' the console command line.  The size of my screen was already the right size, and it has not resolved the question of 'recognition of tilde.

    2. find Fallout Notepad, locate the line AllowConsole = x (where x represents a number any) and change x 1.  I found the notebook and the line, but the value was already "AllowConsole = 1".  I changed the number 0 and then back to 1, to see if that would be 'reset', but still no use of the tilde in the game key.

3 turn off the infrared remote Microsoft (MIRC) in the eHome folder.  It is the recommendation given to me by the works of Bethesda, the company that produced of Fallout 3.  However, when I asked what particular file searching (there nothing specifically named "infrared" whatever it is, nor do any application with a name sounding similar open when I clicked it), I was given the same two paragraphs already listed on the site Web of Bethesda, if there is no progress.

My question is this; How find/disable the MIRC involved with the Windows Media Center/eHome?  OR... there at - it another method to allow recognition of the tilde key (~) so that in games like Fallout 3?  Because he was such a topic posted on other forums by users of Vista (on laptops, for the most part), I hope there are a few out there who have faced this problem before, and have a solution.  I run with a laptop Asus M51 series with Windows Vista, if that helps at all.  Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello YoungSolshee,

In addition to what Jack said, when you press the tilde key, you hold the SHIFT key also.  Most of the time that the cheat console will not work unless you enter in the ~ symbol and not only hit / press.

  • Unable to access computer because the account password for Windows Vista has been forgotten and don't have a password reset disk/hard to find ways to restore the system... Help please

    Hello
I'm stuck on the screen on my computer for my Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit edition. The password to the user account has been lost, and now I am unable to access my computer. I don't have a created password reset disk so I can't reset the password. I searched these forums and seems the most effective way is to run a system restore to a time where I did have a password for my account. Fortunately for me, I did an automatic update of Windows that created a system restore point literally moments before I put the password, so I should be able to get access to my computer once I figured out how to get system restore to work. The advice I found on other forums do not seem to work, because I'm in my Windows vista operating system disc, but no screen is coming up with 'Repair your computer', which indicate the steps happen. I need assistance to find another way to run the system restore on boot menus/Vista/DVD CD. Thank you.

Go to Bestbuy or other PC shop. They can fix it for you. (Could I have so I am not allowed to post these alternative instructions.)

  • Easy access - filter keys are automatically re-enabled after Windows Vista starts.

    Hello!

I'm using Windows Vista and my problem is the following.

Even if I disable FilterKeys, whenever I start my computer, filter keys are enabled again.
This causes me to use the on-screen keyboard to connect (my keyboard is disabled), then I have to go to control panel - easy access and disable FilterKeys. Once I disabled it, I can use my keyboard.

You can imagine that this is really boring to do this each time I restart my computer.

I tried to change the registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Accessibility\StickyKeys--> Flags = 507, and it did not work. (also tried value 506).

Suspicion, support, tip will be really appreciated.
