I only got 2 different codes within 4 or 5 years I've had it and neither one works.

  Unless you actually had an active password, this screen after the installation of the update should be only a reminder or a push to create a password at this time for reasons of security as shown on the screen. If you have never had a password, you should be able to select the option button at the bottom of the screen, where it will allow you to ignore the creation of an access code. I don't remember exactly what the screens looked like or says, but it may be another screen and prompt you again (as a "are you sure") to create a password but there will be an option to "Skip for Now".   Is it possible to create a custom control that serves as both a control and indicator?  What I want is a slider vertical I can put a value with the help of the thumb or digital input, but I also want a horizontal line which would be about when the filling is (of which the value may come from feedback in my system).  In my case, I want to set the voltage and see the actual voltage measured on the same cursor.  Is this possible?

• Updated IE7 to IE8 and lost my network connection, get the error "network cable is unplugged" which is not

  After upgrade, network display icon with a red X through it indicating "network cable is unplugged" - which is not.  System Restore gave me back IE7, but without two of the toolbars (I've since found the fix for this - but too late).  Tried a system restore and now completely lost internet connection - IE will not launch.  Always get the message "network cable is unplugged".   I have reset the modem, but nothing works... should I ask Microsoft, HP, or my service provider (Rogers)?

  Check the modem on the back of the system where the cable ether net branch. Think you that shed light on this subject? If this is not the case then you may have a problem with the NIC or ether net cable may have problems. If you do this then try uninstalling and reinstaling the NIC in Device Manager. If you don't see the network adapter in Device Manager then try booing the system BIOS and make sure that he is seen here. Let me know what you find. Thank you.
