  • Reference Dell T5400 new SSD not recognized

I'm having a problem with the installation of a new SSD on my T5400. Ultimatly I want to load the operating system and all the software on the SSD and then install a 2nd hard drive SSD of same type and size to store my files.

    My specific situation is:

Previously a poweredge 6 / i sas card scsi perc 6 with the installation of 500 GB HD (2) RAID 0, Win 7 pro 64 bit.

I removed the adapter perc 6 and installed a new Samsung 850 Evo 500 gb SSD on sata 0 position. I'm trying to do a fresh reload of the OS on the SSD with the bios (Version 11) set to Raid Autodetect/AHCI selected.

During the installation of windows, it does not see the SSD and seeks pilots continue. I tried to find the appropriate drivers on the website of dell for my system and the unziped NautilusDOSA48_ZPE, put on a USB key. He looked for a driver, but windows has returned a message 'no driver signed found. Of note is that I was able to remove my other format of the underdisk of configuration management and create a simple volume on disk.

    Issues related to the:

Is the withdrawal of the RAID card affecting the installation, was it the previous series of drivers that I seem to be missing? If so how can I work around this?

Leaves the RAID card to and not connected to the drive or connect to the card and a raid configuration, a configuration option 'no '? If so is it a good idea?

I visited the dell support site and found what I thought was the best set of drivers for my system and SSD (NautilusDOSA48_ZPE) is suitable for my application driver or is there a better one avalible?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hi Todd,

    Thanks for your reply.

I currently have the readers installed and running on my system

In response to your answer, yes Bios A11 had been installed for more than a year, removed the card activated before installing the SSD raid and AHCI.

The question, it turns out that was a simple, as I said after enabling the AHCI I thought that ports 0 and 1 auto detects new readers, they do not have. Once I have manually configured ports on in the Bios, the system recognizes the new SSD and they work now.

  • Compatibility power T5400

Hi I have a Dell T5400 with 1 to 3 blinking lights. I tried several different combinations of ram and nothing works, so I suspect that the power supply is defective. I bought a cheap on ebay I hope to swap the power supply, but as chance would have the power supply model number is different. My broken is H875E-00 and the new is N875E-00.  The motherboard looks the same, but they have different numbers of REV. Are they compatible? Guess I know the answer is going to be...

  • Why does take so long to clear a task (with the DMA transfer) using the PXI bus?

I am migrating from a system that has the habit of using a PCI-6133 (8 channels HAVE simultaneous) and PCI-6733 (8 channels AO) to one that uses a PXI-6133 and PXI-6733 mounted in a PXI-1033 chassis.

In general, things seem to be working (synchronized I / AO to run near the maximum speed on both devices), with the exception that the compensation an AO task on the PXI-6733 takes always (the order of 20-30 seconds).

Even when I try the generation of the sine wave for the PXI-6733 in MAX test Panel, it takes the same amount of time to stop the task. If I switch to the use of interrupts as transfer mechanism, it stops immediately.

I tried to use the transfer mechanism of interruption on my more demanding set of synchronized tasks, but that does not produce good behavior (even if he doesn't give any errors).

Is there a trick (or the best diagnosis) to help get my tasks working with DMA under PXI that worked very well on PCI?

    Thanks in advance!

Thank you, Patrick. I tried on another computer (Dell T5400) and everything worked as expected. I think that the problems I have experienced on the first computer were due to a conflict with a PXI driver for another card I have not installed during my tests (and which I did not know was PXI, but he appeared as a PXI device in M & A once I put it in it should have a kind of PCI - PXI bridge internal?). So ultimately, pure card / slot / pilot shenanigans and everything seems to be fine now.

  • Vista Ultimate cannot play the DVD because of the DRM

I have Windows Vista Ultimate installed on a workstation Dell T5400 with Nvidia Quadro FX 1700 graphics card, old monitors and one audio interface Focusrite Saffire. I am watching a DVD on this computer, but have been unable to do. Whenever I try to read the DVD, I get the following message:

"Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with the digital copy between your DVD player and the video card protection decoder. Try to install a driver available for your video card.

I installed the latest Dell drivers for this video card. I understand that Vista ultimate is supposed to read the DVD. I also tried the free 'vlc' program to read the DVD and it is unable to do the same. It is frustrating, as I'm not trying to make digital copies of what that is is not clear to me why digital copy protection would be involved.

    Any suggestions?

Artuero, software decoding DVD comes 3rd party and is not available from Microsoft - it means reinstall this software, you must locate and either perform a repair or reinstall from the CD.  I find it interesting that you are unable to read a DVD in the player VLC Media as is the only free software that I am aware of that contains a built in DVD decoder.  You may want to try to go to file and then open in VLC and opening an of the. VOB files containined in the folder VIDEO_TS to DVD as a test.

    Please, perform the following steps:
-In Windows Media Player, press the ALT key and select Help on Windows Media Player
-Click on the Support information link, paste the content in this thread so that we can take look at what codecs/decoders is currently installed.

    -Thank you

  • Goes black screen, but still running

This problem has been going on for quite awhile now. Randomly the my screen goes black, usually while I'm playing games or using the browser. It was just when I was with any browser, but its developed on when I play some games. It ruined some progress on the papers that I wrote (several hours lost can be pretty boring), so I decided to put here all the info to see if I could get any help on the situation. The computer still works fine, while the screen is black, I can even keep Skype calls and hear people talking all by not seeing a thing. The only way to get the screen to come back is to force him to stop. I also connected to an external monitor to test if it's a hardware problem or a system in question. The two crash screens indicating that its all just a system error.

    Hello

I too had this problem the Dell Precision M6500 and Nvidia Quadro FX 2800 M with drivers on the Nvidia site. It has affected my machine before and after the upgrade to Windows 7 to Windows 10. I noticed that he has never done it on the battery. When on feeding, the graphics card seems to close as he thinks it's overheating, but it is not.

The solution is to download the Nvidia PowerMizer software.informer.com Manager software

    Check enable the PowerMizer

Check the level of interpretation or fixed performance select average for battery and network.

Check the overheating slow by substitution. Select Disable overheat the downturn.

    That's all. : o).

The only thing is every time 10 Windows updates (like this morning) the PowerMizer settings are rooted out the registry. This morning my machine was blacking out as soon as I open any program, and I had to pull the power cord to operate if I could start PowerMizer. I left a shortcut for the program on my desk top of the page.

There is a separate issue with the Precision M6500 really one overheating due to dust in the hand and heat sinks graphic chip. See here for my healing:

  • Software calibration Dell will improve the accuracy of the calibration in a later version? (Associated U2713H)

I'm having a problem with my purchase newly U2713H.

One of the reasons key I bought this monitor because it has 2 preset hardware calibration.

That save me a lot of time when I spend 2 color space workflow in Windows

(One fore one for sRGB and Adobe RGB)

and 14-bit LUT calibration equipment hardware is pregnant with precision.

Now, I tried to calibrate it with X-rite i1display Pro and software Calibration of Dell.

I tried the coordination parameters predefined and customized in the Dell monitor calibration software.

All results are terrible. I can't even D65 white point right.

Calibrated white point is WAY hotter that it must, the gamma is off, the color accuracy is mediocre at best.

Only the luminance is correctly calibrated.

However, I use custom color of the monitor preset and calibrate the monitor with basICColor 5 (calibration software)

The result is EXCELLENT, good white point, gamma correct, correct brightness, colors are on-site.

But there is a problem, the range either use predefined custom color standard.

If I want to use emulation Adobe RGB or sRGB. I can use these presets, but in these presets you can not adjust the color settings.

I can't calibrate my screen with these presets with basICColor 5.

So now I'm stuck. Hoping only Dell would have a specific version of monitor calibration software Dell.

I ask you, we will have that in the foreseeable future?

Because I consider really return or sell my U2713H so the answer is no.

    Thank you.

First of all, you cannot properly calibrate all GB - LED with Basiccolor 5 because it uses an older version of i1d3 SDK that don't support GB - led. Folder 'C:\Program Files\basICColor Software\basICColor display 5\PlugIns\i1d3 support Files\RG_Phosphor_Family_25Jul12.edr' is missing. If you add and edit "I1D3Mapping.txt" to contain it, it will show in the list box dropdown tecnology, but it will be ignored.

If you think you have calibration spftware excelent, but your "D65" if off to real D65 (green). Check it with ArgyllCMS (GNU software) and this BDU.

In second place, in a color space emulated without access to the RGB yo gain can 'fix' a little your WhitePoint via GPU LUT keep at least 93 to 96% RGB values. As monitor ages, WP will move and you must do this even if you have a D65 'perfect' at the moment.

Now to the crux of your question. It seems that the Dell software lacks a XML configuration. Check "C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\X-Rite\Dell Calibration\Logger\logger.txt color" for a line of the error in the first lines.

Missing XML file should be here 'C:\ProgramData\X-Rite\Dell UltraSharp Color Calibration Solution\displayTechTypes.xml. It's just a mapping between models of monitors and calibration BDUs corrections. If you don't have it, create it with this content:

But the 'Model' and 'Key' may vary in your case. Check the previous file, 'logger.txt' for the values as:

    "[24.05.2013 23:53:19.156] display of INFORMATION name: DELL U2413 - hardware ID: DELF047 - DisplayIndex: 0".

Also make sure that your nvidia card or ati does not have the color correction, 'colourful' or something like that.

And finally remember that the Dell-xrite software has a few flaws:

    1. it does not reset the values of LUT3D in each hardware calibration, so you have your factory reset values. It is a MAJOR, DELL problem. I therefore ask you, DELL, in order to solve this problem, once again... It cannot be if... just hard reset content LUT.

2-all the predefined values (rec 709, sRGB, AdobeRGB) are YOUR NATIVE white point. Use Custom preset to D65

One last thing, on the back of your 27: monitor LG GB - LED 27 "has its own software of hardware calibration (LG True Color or something like that), but if you buy this, it will work correctly for GB - LED for the same reason that 5 Basiccolor. It may seem to have a pretty white on the view, but no. Download (installation in a Virtuak Machine or something) and check yourself missing files for correction of BDUs.

And Asus 24 "" / 27 "GB - LED has no calibration hardware reset, so..." "adjust" your instalation of Dell color calibration Solution (I've ben asking a software update regarding LUT3D reset and they don't care) or purchase an Eizo/NEC for twice the price.

This is as sad as it may seem.

I hit the power supply test button on the back and the LED is green indicating no power problem. I removed the RAM and just put 2 DIMM back in, tried a different video card. Removed the Firewire card. Removed the second CPU, swapped the second processor in place of the first. Reset the CMOS. I tried to unplug the hard drives, diskettes and optical. I monitor the temperatures of the last two days, inactive to 39 processors, but never greater than about 52C, the video card is idling to 36 c and will enter in the 1960s during the comparative analysis, but remains in the 1940s with regular use. - or is it possible to buy T420 anywhere? (even the stores no longer sell)

(and of course, old T400 keyboard would be the best - with classic Insert/Delete /...)

I don't like the huge guys - but this isn't the main problem. I really miss classic Ins/Del/Home/End/PgUp/PgDb block! Even with society T420, I was really sad that designers decided to 'Remove' bigger, movement "Insert" next to "break"...

  • Installed RAM 16 GB, only 4 GB in BIOS - Precision T5400

    Hi all

I'm at the end of the roll, trying to make the best of my memory upgrade.

I am running Windows7 64-bit on Dell Precision T5400 single quad-core Intel Xeon E5405. Card mother 0RW203. BIOS version A11

Has obtained eight identical sticks of 2 GB of ram (for a total of 16GB) and installed on all the places available. Noticed on the properties of Windows - installed RAM 16 GB (4 GB usable). Tried to play with the allocations of virtual memory, but without success.

BIOS enabled and it showed all 8 locations occupied with 2 GB of ram, but the installed memory is 4 GB. Don't see any options for tweaking the settings of the BIOS for it to recognize all of the 16 GB of ram.

Checked each stick individually and all play nice and the CPU - Z reports installed as well, removing the issue of housing or the motherboard. I suspect that it is a BIOS problem, and I would be grateful to anyone who can suggest a solution.

I'll be happy to provide the additional information requested. I inherited the machine, so RMA and returns are out of the question.

    Ok

    Here is a temporary workaround

    on my example

    Initially, I had installed 4 GB / 4x1Go in slots 1-4 (white)

    I wanted to move to 16GB / 8x2Go

And obviously had a same problem as the topic starter

But I managed to work the memory following the path:

    1. Install memory old back and let the bios not recognize
    2. restart and shut down pc
    3. install the new memory (16 GB / 8X2Go)
    4. After turning on, you will see the message "memory size has changed.
    5. strike the F1 to continue and just forget about the existance of the BIOS, because as soon as you go, chances are that your memory will be reduced

Clearly, this is a bug in the BIOS.

    I use A11.

For DELL it would be really good remedy finally

  • Precision T5400 CPU Upgrade

I recently bought a T5400 of accuracy with a single Xeon E5405 processor. I want to upgrade to either double E5450 (80 watts) or X 5460 (120 watts) Xeon.

I found a new heatsink of JD210 not used on eBay and figure that should work correctly regardless of CPU I choose. However the calorific power of the X 5460 at 120 watts may be a bit strong but doable. I also found E5450 or X 5460 matched pairs on eBay.

I would like to know if I can at least go with double E5450 and JD210 heatsink and your thoughts on the course of X 5460. VRM is integrated into the motherboard of what I see. I want to do this week if possible. I hope that you guys have the answers.

    Thank you

    Erik

    Hello

JD210 is the correct radiator to use so it's one less to worry about for you!

You're right about SLANQ and SLBBA - these are the S-Spec codes that use their Intel processors and help identify their individual processors. Differences in the similar processor S-Spec codes usually mean walk changes.

X 5460 which has been transported and compatible with the precision T5400 has the code S - Spec SLANP, similarly the E5450 which was transported and compatible with the precision T5400 has the S - Spec SLANQ code - then you definitely should not have problems with the E5450 at least.

On this basis, I think I'll have to revise my earlier statement to say that you have X5460s in this system as long as they have the code S-Spec SLANP instead of SLBBA - unless someone with a precision T5400 with Xeon X 5460, code S-Spec SLBBA can put me right!
