A month back, I had installed Windows 8.1 as well and things were smooth until last night. Last night, when I installed Comodo Internet Security, the computer requires a restart, I did, and then my computer erased. I could not even reached the Acer logo at startup.

My S7-392 has a built-in battery that I had to reset which allowed the laptop to reboot normally. As in, I was able to boot up to Windows 8.1. However, as soon as I logged into Windows, it hooked up soon. Do the restart 3 times triggered the automatic repair/update option. That I took and returned to Windows 8. I had a Bios 2.05 2.03 intead and I had to install 2.05 before making updates. I recommend you seriously all the people who use the S7-392 to strictly follow the installation procedure for Windows 8.1 mentioned on the Acer site.

  Please update your Bios to 2.05 before installing something new, especially a new anti-virus.

  I have a laptop Acer Aspire G 551 - E5 - t0jn which was not correctly restart after upgrade to Windows 10.

  The laptop starts if I press and hold the powerkey until it passes to the wide, or make a SHUT DOWN instead. However, when I just do a restart it just hangs at the Acer logo indefinitely. I did a clean install of windows 10 and the problem persisted. I then installed a linux beside windows 10 distribution and the problem persists there too, so I'm not sure it's just windows 10. However, until the upgrade, 8.1 and my time given linux partition on very well without hassle.

  The problem was the Ultimate - n 6300 Wireless Nic Intel I asked to replace the buggy Atheros, since swapping back everything works as should be. I never suspected the wireless network card could be the problem, but it turns out that this particular card and E5 mobile computers Acer 551G could not agree and resulted in the laptop hung downtown after the reboot.

  Nevermind found the solution...                                                                                                              Follow the steps below. (Please be careful when you handle the electrical components of the computer such as batteries and power adapters)

  • Remove the battery and hold the power for a few seconds (drain any remaining power)
  • Turning on the computer without the battery with the AC adapter is plugged in.
  • Wait a few seconds and then reconnect the battery

  After a few tries the computer should start normally supported. The amber battery stops flashing and turns green when fully charged.

  I am the owner of a laptop Acer Aspire VN7 - 591G Black Edition.  Today, at the start, my trackpad is more responded to my touch or clicks.  First of all, I pressed Fn + F7 to see if I had just accidentally turned off, but it wasn't the case.  I plugged an external mouse on the USB port to my laptop to navigate and once in the Device Manager, found that my trackpad is not listed under mice and other pointing devices.

  If the system or Mode restore safe work not and you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, make a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

  Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

  Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

  When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

• Acer Aspire E1 471 does not start. "no boot device, insert the boot disk and press any key".

  Acer Aspire E1 471. 8 64-bit Windows.

  It does not seem to recognize any boot device.

  Already tried:

  -F2 for configuration of the bios F9 to restore the default settings, F10 to save and exit and restart.

  -boot from usb, dvd... the screen turns black after the screening.

  -forcing safe mode or windows recovery screen (System Restore, auto repair, cmd, etc) the screen goes black, too and after about 20 minutes. the blue screen with the unhappy face appears (pc must be restarted)

  Any suggestions?

  We will try to repair the startup entries, I suggest you follow these steps and try to solve the problem of Windows 8 start.

  a. starting from hirens CD.

  b. try these commands from the command prompt.

  Bootrec /fixmbr

  c. restart the computer and check if the problem persists.
