Acer aspire m1640 computer of office cannot recover from hard drive failure

Hi, have a problem with my acer aspire m1640 computer to desktop running vista home premium. The hard drive failed completely, so I installed a new one, realizing I need a new operating system, I bought a new copy of vista Home premium (upgrade version) without license number the supplier told me that my original license number on the case of the m1640 would be ok. When I insert this disc I select cd/dvd-rom in the menu of the bios, enter the country and the language ect, support on continue, and I get a box on the screen saying, can not find the cd/dvd rom drivers. also my new hard drive is not displayed in the bios boot options. I'm starting to think that maybe I need the full version of vista. some advice would be greatly appreciated.

Michael

You should contact Acer and purchase their part back the Vista Home Premium Upgrade recovery media to your provider who gave you the wrong information anyway. You will not be able to use Vista Home Premium Upgrade with the product key on your computer. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

I guess I have to re import my photos in lightroom, but how can I use my backup catalog?

Do not re - import! It will not work.

You must open your catalog backup by double-clicking it, and then re - connect (not re-import) images using these instructions: Adobe Lightroom - find folders and files moved or missing

  • Acer Aspire TimelineX 1830 68U118-t with a new hard drive. How can I get the bluetooth to work?

I have an Acer Aspire TimelineX 1830 t-68U118.  The original hard drive died, so I replaced it with a new hard drive.  I loaded Windows 7 x 64 and loaded the chipset drivers and the network drivers.  The laptop is always my bluetooth equipment (even if I loaded the drivers Atheros).  Does anyone else have this problem?  How can I get the bluetooth to work?

It would probably depend on the status of the warranty of the system.

You must contact the service for options.

  • Adapter Acer Aspire M1640 Vista drivers 6 to 4 errors

    Hello

I'm new to the Forum of Acer.

My friend has an Acer Aspire M1640 running Vista Home Edition. In the Manager of devices under network adapters, there are four errors "all starting with Microsoft 6to4 adapt." The NVIDIA card works very well and can get internet. I followed the instructions elsewhere on the internet and uninstalled the Microsoft 6to4 (error code 31) card and then re-installed the component inheritance. The alert has disappeared. So I tried to remove other 6to4 errors that were... #15, #18 and card 6to4 #5 6to4 adapter 6to4 card. When I rebooted the computer, all four were present once again with errors. I tried to update the drivers for all, but I was told that they were already up to date. I tried the system restore because she had removed a bunch of stuff before calling me but the system restore points do not go far enough to fix what she was doing. The computer is very slow start and freezes from time to time. Any suggestions?

    Hello!

I uninstalled the network cards and I ran the utility of the seller and found nothing on the manufacturer of the wireless adapter. Then... I just reinstalled the NVIDIA LAN adapter that you provided and restarted the computer and found that the adapter 6to4 errors disappeared. My friend does not use wirless internet anyway.

The computer always starts very slowly.

I ran a scan disk to check the material difficulties and he fixed one error. But it always starts very slowly. Whether in safe mode or not.

Something I noticed while working on his computer is there are three different 'control' programs on his computer. Realtek, ATI and NVIDIA. They are likely a problem or conflict?

I'm not very tech savvy, but I try LOL

Thank you for your patience and your help

    Hi Carolinelightfoot,

This error message occurs when the system could not read and write data to the registry file. The error indicates a problem with the registry.

    Method 1:

You can run a Checkdisk to see if there are drive errors that can cause this problem.

Check your hard drive for errors

Note: When you run the disk check, there is a chance of losing the data that you can take a backup of important data before you run checkdisk.

    Method 2:

You can also try to boot from a full version of Windows Vista installation disc and try to perform a restore of the system to WinRE (Windows Recovery Environment)

What are the system recovery options in Windows Vista?

    Hope this information is useful.
