  I just bought an Acer Aspire TimelineX, 3820 T. It's like a Synaptics Touchpad, which works fine until I do a Windows Update. Once I do the update of Windows, the touch pad doesn't work. Even if it works, there is no control over the touchpad. It is an old laptop of the week and I won't send it to Service Center for repair. Also, I'm afraid to get Exchange of the same model, since it is a software problem with Windows update and could be the same thing with another of the same model. I disabled the Windows Update and there is no problem since then. But with the new laptop, I cannot deal with Windows update and will be updated soon.

  Yes, I tried F7 and nothing helped! The bios only I found here is 1, 70 - WIN and that only works on windows. So I can't install also what I did I install windows 98 on it and my system is in place but I tried to install the Bios, I got error. So I can't start it to update.

  On this forum I saw it there has updated trad 1.70 if toshiba support team can send it to me on the email address so I could update the bios my bios is 1.0!

  First team Toshiba is not here in the forum user to.
  Secondly it can update BIOS victory only running Windows OS-based, it would be best that the use of the Toshiba preinstalled version of Windows in order to run the BIOS update.

  By the way; I found versions of BIOS Toshiba U.S. on page here, you can download the traditional BIOS which can be updated using the diskette.

  Notes; Toshiba laptops, US have different model numbers.

  I've decided to update my BIOS on my laptop Acer E5 511 and afer that my touchpad lost the abilitiy to work on mutlitouch gestures.

  I can't scroll, zoom, or do the right-click by pressing with two fingers at the same time.

  I tried isntaling the touchpad on the official drivers, restarted my laptop a few times but nothing helped.

  If someone had the same problem and found the solution please share, I got to use for functions multitouch now I feel diseabled whenever I use the touchpad just for the cousor Thierry.

  Found the soltion targeting minutes after this announcement.

  You must go to your BIOS or UEFI py parameters pressing and holding you key F2 while the laptop is turned on.

  Here you find touchpad and select 'Advanced Mode', then simply save the changes, and after restarting the laptop the multitouch features will return.

  I downloaded the update from the correct BIOS on the site several times and I've tried both installation of Windows 7 which is shipped and booting from CD of Windows XP (PE).   Preinstalled Windows 7 in Toshiba value added package is installed? This tool is necessary to update the BIOS.

  Also to load the default settings in the BIOS to update.

  "We could not update system reserved partition."

  It seems that HP had broke the 100 MB EFI Partition (System Reserved Partition) with updates and it prevented additional updates to the partition.

  The laptop has been preloaded with Win 8.1 System.

  Have you changed anything in the configuration of the system?
  Did you remove any Toshiba Software in the past?

  Please check twice if the driver of Toshiba (to Win 8.1) system has been installed correctly!

  If you have changed the system that is to say to Win 7, be sure to what Toshiba has added economic package for WIn 7 is installed!

  It is very important, because both applications from Toshiba are essential to perform the update of the BIOS Toshiba

  Was the most recent driver from the Acer site?

  Otherwise, generic drivers may sometimes have bad behavior if not custom.

  Hello! On the front of my all-in-one that shows a picture of headphones, usb 3.0 and a logo of sd card. I'm really confused about why they are there if there is nothing to these ports (except the USB 3.0, unless theres supposed to be a second.) I checked everywhere on my computer, and all the ports I have are 1 usb 3.0 port, 2 usb 2.0, Ethernet and power plug. I can't really find a fact sheet on the ports that should be online, so I hope someone experienced with help! Thank you!
