ACPI & Tosh powersave

Have a S2410-601. Just did the upgrade memory to 2 GB.

The two thin sims, slots mem very well, but as soon as I go from 1 GB to 2 GB XP will bluescreens n "your machine is not fully ACPI.

Have re-installed, less XP ACPI and it works. Except when I started the Tosh 'common tools' do not start (having uninstalled and reinstalled with the same problem). So not close the lid in hibernation, none of the multimedia keys, no Fn + key control operation.

Does anyone know of a work around. I guess that the bios (v1.4) is hardcoded to a memory address that interferes with 2 GB. Thus, when the ram is in the bios gets in trouble. It is not a new bios. Any ideas of an ACPI patch that will make my job of hibernation again?

Hi David

As far as I know it is not possible to remove just reinstall common modules. In any case, try to reinstall all tools & utilities Toshiba. Installation of common modules is very important because it is the most important module. All the tools of another are function of the common modules. I don't know, but if there is no success to install it properly you need to reinstall new OS.

Do you use the original for the installation of the OS recovery CD?

I hope you know that this maximum memory upgrade for this unit is 1024MB.

When I start the machine with the kernel parameter acpi = off CPU runs at 1.66 GHz. But this isn't a solution as a laptop computer without ACPI is completely useless.

The problem is obviously a mistake in the BIOS ACPI table who deceives the core to think that the maximum speed is 1 .33GHz.

There is also an Ubuntu bug describing the problem more in detail:

    https://bugs.Launchpad.NET/Ubuntu/+source/cpufreqd/+bug/422858

    Anyone watching similar behavior?

I would be very interested in any type of solution workaround or information on how to contact Lenovo and ask a fixed BIOS.

    Best

  • The update of Windows 10 1511 reboot loop Bootcamp BSOD ACPI. SYS

It is a copy of my thread to http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-performance/windows-10-update-1511-reboot-loop-bootcamp/8653... as I was asked to post here by the Microsoft Support Engineer.

    Hello

Friday night, I went to bed with a working machine. I had a late 2013 Mac Pro BootCamp running with a Windows 10 Pro installed, the Build version before 1511.

On Saturday morning, I woke up to my PC restart itself over and over again. It seems that Windows Update has decided to put a new version of Windows 10 on my machine without my knowledge. I discovered this after restoring an acronis backup (which took a few hours because of the number of incremental backups)

Occasionally (about 1 in 20 restarts) it would blue screen with an error:

    SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (ACPI.sys)

But the rest of the time he would just start, flash a window for a millisecond that says (I think) winlaunch.exe, then restart.

I tried a lot of things to sort it, including:

    (1) restore from a backup, acronis to Friday morning, running sfc/scannow, and then runs the update

    (2) the creation of a recovery USB, enter the console, change the boot to legacy method, so I can F8, then goes into all security modes and mode of illegal product, but I can find where windows 10 now puts the boot log

    (3) restored from acronis, switched to mac, created a new bootcamp drivers usb, switched to windows and run the option 'fix drivers' before performing the update.

Ntbtlog.txt is not anywhere on the partition. I ran a dir /s > a.txt then open this a.txt in Notepad and searched him.

I don't know where to go from here. I can acronis restore of a windows 10 work machine the morning before installing mandatory 1511. I don't know how to delay the update no more, I noted during a restore I had delay on updates that are why it has arisen just now.

I do not know how to find where this BSOD ACPI.sys will come (even if it happens so rarely) or this that its trying to load just before it crashes (so I can try to delete the driver etc. by the front restored windows to upgrade)

I guess the widowed causes 10 to do a restore, then the restore fails.

Overall, I get at the end of my wits with this, to go a completely Windows 10 installation work Friday to more than two wasted days, restore backups, try again, rinse and repeat. It's now Monday morning and I am posting this as a ditch last attempt to solve the problem, your help would be appreciated.

If you need more information please let me know the location of the files, etc, or their names and I will do my best to have copies available for you.

I will now restore the backup again, uninstall loading of drivers, and then try the update of windows for the 4th or 5th time.

    Thanks in advance,

    Julian

Woo Hoo, I've solved the problem!

I uninstalled the drivers of graphics from AMD (with AMD Driver Cleaner) and Arcronis True Image Home 2013 at the same time, then let Windows Update run its course. Now I have a machine with Windows Version 1511 10!

It took me 4 days of downtime...

I hope this helps someone else.

  • Acer veriton x4640g: ACPI\MSFT0101 he is a rider who can install this?

I have no idea if I can get these drivers...

    pls HELP...

    TNX_shin18

    Hi, @shin18 :

Unfortunately, there is no W7 32-bit driver for this device.

If you upgrade to W7 64 bit, this is... you install this hotfix.  It is only good for W7 64 bit.

    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/2920188

Now... If you need to run W7 32 bit, check the BIOS of your PC and see if there is a setting to turn off the Trusted Platform Module (TPM).

Unless you are running W7 Ultimate or Enterprise, this device has no value.

It is only used to support Bitlocker on the operating systems W8.1 and W10.

Only the W7 Ultimate and Enterprise versions supports Bitlocker.

If you can not disable it in BIOS and you can not install W7 64 bit, then you can simply ignore the device not installed, now that you know what it's for.

    Hello

I installed the 64 bit, win 7 on my dv8-1190ef, but there is an unknown device (ACPI/HPQ0004).

Please help me solve this problem!

That's the guard HP 3D drive.

This is a slightly different model of dv8, but it will work. I guess HP forgot a list for your specific model number. I couldn't find FRO your support in any case page.

And here's a more recent version

I found this one for a HP Envy, but as mentioned, it will work fine for a dv8, or any other laptop with burner HP hardware 3D of the guard.

  • Satellite Pro T130 - 14L: 100% CPU use of acpi.sys after changing the HDD to SSD

    Hello

because I changed my for one SSD HARD drive and reinstalled Windows 7 with 64 bit on this subject, my system works frequently in 100% CPU utilization caused by kernel module acpi.sys, I discovered with process Explorer and confirmed by recording an ETL file.

This problem occurs once an hour on average, sometimes after 10 minutes of functioning of the system and sometimes after two hours, no matter which programs are running and whether or not I is actively using the computer. When I noticed a hanging and see this 100% cpu core in the process Explorer window are currently in use, I always need to save my work (which may take a few minutes) and restart the computer.

I could live with that, but it's pretty nasty. My bios is up to date (version 2.70), as well as my other drivers (no error and no virus found). In other forums I've read, these problems could be avoided by changing the energy registers something Windows settings as never go to sleep of the SSD, but it works in my case as I disabled all energy saving options in Windows and I still have this problem.

Is there maybe an update of the unofficial bios that could solve this problem?
I read in another forum, that an unofficial bios update Dell fixed a similar problem on a Dell computer.

Can someone help me solve this problem please?

    Details of process Explorer:
The wire with TID 160 and the start address:

    ACPI. SYS + 0X1AF7C

suddenly starts using 100% CPU and does not stop until you restart.
Similar problem as in this forum for a Dell PC:
    https://social.technet.Microsoft.com...UM=w7itproperf

Unlike the Dell problem, there is no appropriate-updated bios for me, could you help me if you could tell me how to stop the kernel module (if it starts hanging or even before). Then I could at least avoid frequent restarts.

  • Bluetooth missing: ACPI\TOS6205

    Hello Forum,

I'm missing the Bluetooth feature. In the device manager is an unknown device listed: ACPI\TOS6205. All other devices are identified.
My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite L50b PSKTQE, I'm on Windows 7. Link to drivers

I have already installed stand 'Packages Bluetooth Filter Driver' Atheros and Broadcom. But no Bluetooth. I read that the Bluetooth feature is actually part of the apparatus of 3160 Intel AC, so I installed the "Intel Driver Update Utility install". This tool downloads drivers for Bluetooth and Wlan (Wireless_18.11.0_s64.exe) (WP - BT_17.1.1504.01_S64.exe). But after installing the drivers still no Bluetooth.

Then I restored windows to a Quick Restore Point where only the Chipset Intel driver have been installed. Here, I installed driver to stand for the Intel AC 3160, once again, but not Bluetooth.

Can someone give me a clue what I need to do to get the Bluetooth running?

    Thank you

    Hello

As far as I know the unknown device ACPI\TOS620A needs the Protection of HARD drive utility.
Eventually it s an acceleration sensor built into the computer.

Visit the page of European driver of Toshiba and download the utility of the HARD disk Protection.

    Welcome them
