Acrobat Reader DC classic: ThumbnailPreviewHandler MSI install?
On the Guide Adobe of Directors of companies, there is an option to activate the preview of thumbnails in Adobe Acrobat DC:
Adobe - Guide of Business Administration properties
and
Admins can install or remove this feature via a Properties command line ADD_THUMBNAILPREVIEW (first install) or ThumbnailPreviewHandler (post installation), and then lock the user interface.
Any ideas how to get this working?
Finally, I found a way:
- Install Acrobat Reader DC 2015
- Install updates
- Run the following command:
msiexec /i {AC76BA86-7AD7-FFFF-7B44-AE0F06755100} ADDLOCAL = ThumbnailPreviewHandler /q /norestart

Open a PDF apart from Firefox / Acrobat Reader DC has not successfully installed
I'm new to Win 10 and try to get my Firefox browser to open in Acrobat Reader rather than the built-in player of Firefox. I followed the instructions of Mozilla to use
Acrobat Reader to open PDF files. I checked these settings about 8 times, and it always shows to use Acrobat Reader rather than the built-in player.
These settings have worked to Win 8, but fail to win 10. Despite the good configuration of Firefox, a PDF file opens in the embedded player.
I thought that maybe I need to download the CD player. My Acrobat Reader is Pro 9. However, when I tried to install that, I got "From Adobe Acrobat Reader DC have not installed successfully."
So now I have a very frustrating problem of two layers.
Hello
In the above screenshot if you scroll gets an option for PDF.
Here, select Acrobat Reader in the list.
Thank you

How can I transfer an Adobe software product from my old computer to a new one?
Hello
May I know you XI of Adobe Reader or Acrobat Pro XI which you want to use on your new machine?
To install Adobe Reader XI on your new machine, download it here: Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution
To install Acrobat Pro/Standard XI (depending on what you bought), download it here: Download Adobe Acrobat products. Standard, Pro | DC, XI, X
For Acrobat XI you need serial number to activate it.

Hello-
My computer crashed and I'm trying to reinstall the version 10 of Adobe Acrobat Reader. I downloaded and installed the new version and I really don't like it. When I try to install version 10 - I get a message that my serial number is incorrect. I take the serial number directly at the exit of the Adobe website where I purchased the product some time ago. The serial number is listed in my 'story '.
Help, please.
Kbfnsd
The Acrobat 8 download page offers the download in English, French and German (which is JUST a SETUP for these three languages). You're not the first to hurt read that and assume that means that the French, but not what it means. But... why you download 8 If you have 10? Do you mean that you have a paid upgrade to 10? With two serial numbers? If so
* Do not download 8
* Download 10
* Having the TWO serial numbers ready (8 and 10), as YOU BOTH. Use the series of 10 first, then when asked, for "qualified" of the series, use the serial number to 8.
There is a lot of uncertainty, because you talked first Acrobat READER 10, which is free, and not an 8 update. If you mean that you have Acrobat Pro 10 or Acrobat Standard 10, follow the instructions that comes from giving.
And in the interest of keeping and archive your installers? Certainly, there is no old software will be around download forever.

Why can't I uninstall Acrobat Reader DC?
Adobe Acrobat Reader DC has recently been installed on my laptop and I think it's too complex for my needs and very heavy. I tried to uninstall, but I can't uninstall the program. How can I get rid of it and go back to an earlier version of Adobe Acrobat?
You can try to use this tool first remove all traces of your computer:
http://labs.Adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then you can download the full Setup offline reader for the version you want from
http://get.Adobe.com/reader/Enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the Setup program before anything else.

Hi all.
I'm trying to 15.010.20056 update is installed on 15.009.20079 version of Acrobat Reader the domain controller that was installed as integrated (with the updates included) package in our corporate environment. So during the installation, I get these errors: 1328 and 1603. If I uninstall the current version of MS, install 2015.007.20033 (most recent Adobe site) version and then install updated security, everything is going very well. How to solve this problem?
I assume that you have installed 15.009.20079 by AIP. Is that this is the case, then you won't able to correct this AIP installation at 15.010.20056.
Because of facilities using setup.exe will be updated at the latest by only applying the fix. Please refer toRe: AcroRdrDC1501020056 msp and msi as always ~ ~ for more details.
If you have not used of AIP, please let us know so that we can continue.

Acrobat Reader DC deinstallation question lack 'acroread.msi '.
My Acrobat Reader no longer works. Wanted to replace it with a newly downloaded version. Download is not possible because I thought that Acrobat Reader is already installed on my PC. Tried to uninstall the Version of Acrobat Reader DC current, which is however not possible because a 'acroread.msi' is missing on my PC. What can I do now?

I'm stuck in limbo. I fell sick of the poor performance and constant crash of Windows 10 and back to Windows 7. I was warned that I may have to reinstall some software and was pleasantly surprised when nothing seemed to miss. Then I noticed that the new Acrobat Reader DC icon was just a white icon on the desktop.
Of course, the reader does not open when I clicked it, then I went to uninstall and reinstall. No go. The uninstall program complained that he was unable to find the. MSI file in the path with the big ugly GUID in there. I really care about the features of cloud of Document in any case, if I am I would like to install Acrobat Reader XI and finish with the DC version. Again, no go. The Setup program stops and a message that a newer version is already installed.
Next, I tried to reinstall the CD think that Setup is trying to fix the Bjorked version on the disc. No go. Once again the installation program complained that a newer version is already installed and bailed out without doing something useful.
So, I'm pretty damn good here because I can't go forward and I can't go back. Windows 7 uninstall tool think I installed Acrobat Reader XI and when asked to uninstall it still trying to dive into the folder Acrobat Reader DC and can not find the MSI file he seeks even if lead by the nose.
Setup of Acrobat Reader DC think that some superhuman drive versions are installed and will not install no matter how much I beg it.
What should I do?
Claudio,
I have found cleaners and tried both version 4 and version 2 as Windows uninstall although I still have version 11 on my system, but could not uninstall it. Even after using detergents and restarting, the installation of Acrobat Reader complained that it was a newer version of the PC alreadyon and came out of the installer.
I finally decided to remove all records of Adobe in C:\ProgramData and that did the trick. I was able to reinstall the version 11 player, and I think I'll stay with that after the nightmare of all clouds 'features' in Windows 10.

Impossible to install Acrobat Reader or to uninstall the previous Version of the corrupt
I have upgraded to Windows 10 but don't like him not and revenue to 8.1 Windows. However, Adobe Acrobat Reader seems to have corrupted the process, I can't associate opening PDF files with the version of the player that I had on my computer that was Adobe Reader XI (11.0.12). I tried to install Adobe Reader DC but during the installation process, I get a pop up window that says that he must find AcroRead.msi. I get the same error when I try to uninstall the previous version. I'd appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you.
Hi mrmander,
Please run this cleanup tool to remove the traces of the old version of Adobe Reader, restart your computer and install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC using this link Adobe - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Distribution.

Deploy Acrobat Reader 10.1.3 via MSI group policy
The purpose of this thread is to identify the BEST way to create/obtain an MSI for the LATEST VERSION of Acrobat Reader (currently 10.1.3 dated 19/07/2012) to be deployed through GPO. I'm not concerned with customizing player settings that I have accomplished this already by using Group Policy.
It seems so easy, but I found that it is quite frustrating and extremely laborious to understand this.
Here's what I have so far:
To download the full installer from Adobe, you must first apply to the Adobe Web site to distribute Reader:
http://www.Adobe.com/products/reader/rdr_distribution1.html
Once you submit the request, shortly after you will receive an e-mail with a link to download the full exe file from drive 10.1.3.
Here is a link that explains how to extract this exe MSI file:
http://blogs.Adobe.com/dmcmahon/2010/06/16/how-to-extract-an-MSI-file-from-the-exe-
Even with these steps, the next I do not end with a MSI file that will install 10.1.3.
To try a different path:
There is also an Adobe's FTP site. If you navigate down in the Player 10.1.0 folder there is a MSI file. Good - but it is the old version.
You would think that if you navigate the 10.1.3 file there would be an MSI too.
Unfortunately it is not. However, there is a MSP file in the misc folder:
I tried several methods which are supposed to combine the MSP file with the MSI - they have not worked.
I also tried several methods of modifying the MSI file and the wizard of this downloadable Adobe here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4950
I am unable to find yourself with a deployable MSI file for Player 10.1.3.
It is amazing that it's so complicated to deploy the latest version of Adobe Reader to my users.
Will there be a global response to this simple problem? I don't want a link to a 20-page document explaining the theory of MSP files. I am looking for a concise method, step by step to get a MSI file for 10.1.3 quickly and easily.
Thank you!
First of all, there is not a file. MSI which will install Adobe Reader available 10.1.3. There are two ways in which you can create an installation package that will install Adobe Reader 10.1.3.
1 bootstrapper
-Boot program uses the Setup.ini file to create a chained installation process and Setup.exe is executed with a limited number of available installation options.
The process is described in the Guide of the directors of the company: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/837/cpsid_83709/attachments/Acrobat_Enterprise_Administration.pdf #page = 77
Here's a video of the process reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zYTUyOIcNk
2 AIP (Administrative Installation Point)
-AIP uses Windows Installer to create a complete based MSI installer updated unzipped. The process is described in the Guide of the directors of the company: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/837/cpsid_83709/attachments/Acrobat_Enterprise_Administration.pdf #page = 70
Here's a video of the process reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=05XOKX0150w&feature=relmfu
* Please note that each installation method has its advantages and disadvantages. These aspects of each type of installation should be seriously considered for your specific environment and what will and won't work for the it group and the groups of users within your company before decide you on one of them.
Kind regards
Steve
