Activate the TPM on Probook G0 470

Hello

I have recently purchased a 470 G0 Probook laptop and want to use Bitlocker for security reasons. I can't seem to activate the TPM and I can't see anywhere in the Bios. I have windows 7 Ultimate edition and update to the latest version of the Bios of your site.

On the site, I see this laptop as having the TPM chip, but I can't see anywhere in the Bios.

Thank you

Hello:

I am looking at the quickspecs and I can't find anything on a TPM chip included (which I find unusual for a business notebook).

Normally, the TPM secure is listed under security features. I even did a search of words in the document.  Nothing.

Look in the Device Manager in the category of safety devices.

If the laptop has a TPM module, it will appear in this category.

    Hello

How can I activate the TPM on Aspire S7-391-9886? I went into the BIOS and the option to activate it is always grayed out. I read, it was necessary to set an admin password before the option is available, but not luck. Any clue?

    Thanks in advance

    Nice day

I remember gotting to activate in the following way as well as on one of the machines.

    1. go in the bios under the Security tab

2 create the user and supervisor password in the bios... Please do NOT play with the HARD drive password

    3. restart the computer and go to bios and check again

NB: If its still grayed out, it means the bios supports, BUT the physical hardware is not present. If the physical hardware allows, then you can now activate it.

    Kind regards

    Hello Rahul,

What is the brand and model of your computer?

I recommend you to consult the manual that came with your computer to activate the TPM (Trusted Platform Module) in the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) as the BIOS settings vary for each computer & it depends on the manufacturer of the computer. If you are not comfortable to run, you can contact the manufacturer of your computer for help.

    Note:
change BIOS / chipset can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/chipset can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

  • Activate the TPM on Tecra Z40

I have a number of Tecra Z40 I'm setting up a client for a deployment of Windows 8.1. They have a manufacturers mish mash and so far I left Toshiba because it seemed not as suitable for companies like HP and Dell.

Other manufacturers have mechanism for handling the BIOS so I'm after smilar tool

did someone familiar to a tool that I can run TPM for a build process?

    Thank you

Usually, you can change the settings of TPM in the BIOS...
On Toshiba laptops, you can also find a preinstalled software Toshiba HWSetup as Toshiab Security Assistant.

These own Toshiba tools offer different options that are also in the BIOS.
The TPM module must be listed using one of the tools mentioned

Here check the box of "security assistance".

  • ProDesk 600 G1 BIOS configuration of the TPM secure through the BIOS Configuration utility

We have a range of devices, computers HP desktop and laptops in our environment.  Devices are all running Windows 7 64 bit and should have Bitlocker enabled, but we found that some were not encrypted.  So I am trying to set up a remote BIOS and Bitlocker config activate software that we can get out via SCCM and then embed in a task sequence image for new machines.

I use the Bios HP Configuration utility to check a BIOS password is set and then activate the TPM chip.  I took a BIOS config output of each of our models and created a settings file that has all of the TPM associated parameters of all models.

At the moment I run Setup BIOS utility manually for testing.  On all models I tried that works very well, except for the 600 ProDesk G1 SFF.

When I run the utility on the ProDesk 600 G1 MFS, it says that I have managed to update the settings, and when I check the BIOS, the TPM secure has been unhidden and the TPM Management was given to the operating system (two settings I change), but the TPM itself remains hidden.

It's the release of the BIOS configuration utility (it uses the 2.60.13.1 version, which uses plaintext passwords.  I also tried with the 3.0.13.1 later version that uses password files - same result)

    C:\ > BiosConfigUtility64.exe /cspwd: "password" set: "TPM_Config.REPSET"
    < BIOSCONFIG Version = "2.60.13.1" Computername = 'HP600G1' Date = "24/07/2014" Time = "13:01:37 ' UTC '1' = >"
    < SETTING changeStatus = "pass" name = "Embedded Security Device" reason = "' returnCode '0' = >"
    < OLDVALUE > <! [CDATA [hidden device]] > < / OLDVALUE >
    < NEWVALUE > <! [CDATA [device]] > < / NEWVALUE >
    < / SETTING >
< SETTING changeStatus = "pass" name = "Enable security on the next boot" reason = "' returnCode '0' = >"
    < OLDVALUE > <! [CDATA [disable]] > < / OLDVALUE >
    < NEWVALUE > <! [CDATA [enable]] > < / NEWVALUE >
    < / SETTING >
    < SETTING changeStatus = "pass" name = "The BONES of on-board safety management" reason = "' returnCode '0' = >"
    < OLDVALUE > <! [CDATA [disable]] > < / OLDVALUE >

    < / BIOSCONFIG >
    C:\ >

And after a reboot (where it should activate the TPM), BIOS shows as disabled built-in safety device (see attachment for the image).

I have tried everything I can think of to get this to activate, including:

    • Different versions of the BIOS configuration utility

    • Remove the password from the BIOS and the application in the same order as the parameters

    • Different passwords

    • Reboot and allowing the machine to start completely to Windows before checking if the setting took effect

I also tried to add the utility and the commands for an SCCM package and it works directly and as part of a sequence of tasks to see if that makes a difference, but nothing I've done has activated the TPM module.

I know that the TPM module works, as you can turn it on manually and then Bitlocker can be applied to the machine, but with thousands of devices in our environment, I need to get this job without the need for manual intervention.

Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?  Or has someone at - he managed to activate the TPM on the SFF of 600 ProDesk G1 using the BIOS Setup utility?  Any ideas / suggestions would be very appreciated!

P.S. This thread was moved from the company PC - Compaq, Elite, Pro for HP PC Client management. -Hp moderator of the Forum

This problem has now been resolved by HP.

They provided a replacement motherboard for the test machine I was using that solved this problem. I don't know what kind of motherboard failure could prevent the activation via the script TMP chip but not prevent activation through the BIOS menu, but as a replacement solved the problem, then it must be a hardware failure.

  • Portege R400: How to enable the TPM in the BIOS

    I have the Porteg R400.
The TPM is asking me to activate it TPM chip by setting the bios, but the bios setting there is not the activation setting.

This means that it is not the TPM chip installed?

    Hello

AFAIK the Portégé R400 supports the TPM chip, but it must first be activated.
The special BIOS upgrade is required to activate this option.

But it's a little tricky to my knowledge only the Toshiba certified maintainer can do that.
So I would recommended contacting the service guy and ask a technician for more details!

Do you know how to contact the ASP?
On the Toshiba page you will find a list with ASP available worldwide.

    Check it ;)

  • How to disable the touchpad on Probook 4525 s permanently?

How to disable the touchpad on Probook 4525 s permanently?  Can I uninstall the driver in Control Panel, but the next time, he is back on again once.  I use a usb mouse and touchpad is simply in the way when I type.

    Damy salvation!

There are a few options depending on your OS and your version of TouchPad.

    • The best option, if it should be available for you is:

New drivers (at least the V16.x) have the ability to disable the TouchPad / click on the keypad with a setting on the main page 'Settings' when a USB mouse is used.  This is a very nice feature.

Control Panel > display icon > mice > TouchPad [ClickPad] settings >

CHECK "disable the pointing device internal when the external USB pointing device is attached.

If you want to be alerted and see a visual cue of disability >

TICK "Animated icon in the taskbar" >

and make sure you have your updated task bar notifications so you can see the view of the mouse.

Here's a 16.2.X TouchPad driver for the ProBook series - it can run on your laptop:

    sp58647 Synpatics V.16.2.10.12

    =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Another method that may work with a driver older if the best option isn't available:

Control Panel > display icon > mice > TouchPad [ClickPad] settings >

() repeat) TouchPad settings (button) > click tapping >

    Click the shimmering blue wheel

In "box to Disable TouchPad settings".

CHECK "Double Tap to activate / disable the TouchPad.

In the 'Action in the upper left'

    CHECK "Turn off the TouchPad.

    Close

    Ok

    NOTE
if this alternative is available, it is very well, unless something goes wrong.  You could get stuck without your USB mouse AND no way to return to the setting to activate the touchpad.  I don't know if I would use this setting.

  • before you go swim with my series 2. I need to activate the waterlock feature? or is it automatic? and just to unlock after swimming

    TNX

    Hello

    Swimming workouts

Begin a swim practice in the application of the workout on Apple Watch series 2 models automatically activates the lock of the water, which locks the screen to avoid accidental interactions during your workout.

To complete your workout and to evacuate all the water:

    • Press the digital Crown and side button at the same time (which makes a break from the workout).
    • Turn the digital Crown, which opens the screen and erases all the water inside of the watch (it can make a sound).
    • Forehand and press end.

    Other swimming

If you plan to get your Apple Watch series 2 wet in other circumstances that when training of swimming - as to the course of General wear in a pool - you can manually lock the screen first and then drain the water from the speaker subsequently:

    • Slide up from the bottom of the face of the watch to open Control Center > tap water from lock to lock the screen.
    • When you're done: turn the digital Crown to unlock the screen and drained the water from the speaker.
    • The lock can also be unexpected water activated and unlocked immediately after exposure to the water.

After bathing, make sure to clean your Apple Watch series 2 by rinsing them with hot water from the tap. Watch and the band should be dried with a non abrasive and non fluffy cloth.

Strips of leather and stainless steel (Milanese Loop and Bracelet links) are not water resistant, so should not be worn when swimming.

  • Activate the blocker warnings

Hi - I want to get some screenshots of the activation of the blocker in Firefox, but even if I visit a Web site where pop-ups are blocked, it shows that very briefly the warning, then disappears. I want it to show up properly so I can-screenshot it and show my users how to allow popups for a particular site (without them going into the settings and do it manually).

Any ideas how I can re - activate the blocker warnings?

I looked at a few parameters in: config, but they seem to imply it is active:

    browser.popups.showPopupBlocker; true
    privacy.popups.showBrowserMessage; true

Perhaps using this Web page to test the trainer will help you. A warning bar appears and stays there for me with a lot of these 'tests '.
