  There is a unknown specification for your motherboard that will prevent you from installing a new 3.0 PCIe x 16 graphics card. Maps 3.0 is backward compatible with PCIe x 16 2.0 slots.   'project' / 'settings of the project' / 'general' - and go to the bottom of the menu, the selection for the equipment / engine software mercury playback engine is grayed out, and it is in the mode of selection of software.  I can't use the drop down menu to change equipment.  I've updated my NVIDIA driver directly tonight too and that did not help.  Is there something I need to add (software) or something I need to change to make it work?  I read a post where they said I needed to load the CUDA SDK to work (from NVIDIA).  I forget something basic here to make this work?

  After I restarted my computer about 7 times it finally started, so for me to be able to write this message.  However, this problem occurred several times over the last week or two. I get a blue screen, then the computer goes into a splash screen and I get the above error.  Of course, I'm 2 months past my warranty period, so I'm here, GROUND.

  Is my hard drive on its way? Is there a possible difficulty for this seizure completely breaks down?  Information to help save my machine would be great and much appreciated.  Thank you!

  P.S. I ran a diagnostic and all past test except the bootable disc.  But for some reason when I restart a little more time it get passed my system and begins running.

  Look at models of bolt between two motherboards.  The i/o HP plate will not work with the ASUS card sort should use the i/o ASUS plate (hope it fits).  The ASUS Q-connector will help your with the front pin but write down it to the bottom of the function for each connector.

  I currently have a HPE H8-1020. I want to update the motherboard that the current only supports up to 8 GB.

  My PC has two USB ports that are on top of the PC that are connected to the motherboard via a cable to a small white port (I don't know the name of the port, but I know that's not a SATA port). When I replaced my graphics at the beginning of the year, I've noticed this and struggled to find the right port to plug in again after disconnnecting it. It works fine now, but I was wondering if another motherboard would have the same port to connect two additional USB cables because I need to use.

  Computer starts and stops on the ESC press for more boot options screen.  No beeps.   ESC does not work.

  This day-

  1 disk hard disconnected; no luck

  2 disconnected memory in different order (2 sticks of 4 GB each); no luck

  3 tried another power supply; same thing

  4. tried a different keyboard/mouse; no luck

  5. removal of discrete video card and used video mobo; no luck

  Notes:

  -When I removed both sticks of memory, had beeps acknowledging memory was gone

  -When I didn't have a keyboard is plugged in, it recognized keyboard missing

  The steps you have taken to solve the problem would lead me to believe that the motherboard no longer works correctly.

  You observe a code flashes when you press the power button? a flashing red button would indicate systemboard failure.

  You can try to recover the BIOS. Follow the procedures on this document from HP web compared to the version of the BIOS that has your PC. In case of recovery of the BIOS, then all should be well. If this isn't the case, then it is time to get a replacement PC. You can recover data from a hard drive on the computer when you install in another PC under Windows.

• Computer does not start after installing a new graphics card

  I am owner of a HP Pavilion H8-1020 with a processor intel i7 - 2600 s Windows 7 and am trying to upgrade my Radeon hd 6570 to a Gigabyte AMD Radeon R9 280 OC. I improved my diet for a Corsair CX750 to meet the requirements of power and installed with number. After the installation of the new card, which as far as I can tell is well seated in the pci slot and correctly connected to the PSU, my computer does not start.

  System powers on, all fans of begin to run including the fans on the new graphics card, but it does not begin the boot process, no entry is received at my monitors, no light on the keyboard, my OS starts loading, I can turn off the system without the delay that will flow normally. Then I reinstalled my old graphics card and the computer started as usual.

  Now, assuming that the card is not DOA, which unfourtunatly I have no way to verify, and I'd like to see if it could be another problem before going through the process of restitution. I did some reading on the internet, which helped, but did not help for a technological neophyte like me.  Now, I know a few things that could cause this problem but lack the necessary skills to determine what question is making me. What I've read, these could be possible questions:

  1: my new graphics card is not compatible with my motherboard. It's something I know now that I should have checked before buying and something I should theoretically be able to do it now, but I am at a loss on how to do it. My card is compatible with my motherboard?

  2 could be a BIOS problem. I updated my bios driver with the version provided by the HP site. I am running FRIEND 7.16 05/10/2011.  And from what I've read it might have something to do with my bios to UEFI mode and I would need to go to a legacy mode so he can recognize a new device, is it true? I am extremely wary of messing with my BIOS settings for fear of bricking my system. How can I check my current BIOS settings are and what I should change and how would approach I change them? Will one of these changes affect my system if they are not what is not causing the problem?

  I can see why you are having problems with your new graphics card, and to get to the fast response that your motherboard is not compatible with the new graphics card that you have purchased. And here's why.

  Your motherboard according to the page HP Pavilion HPE h8-1020 Desktop PC product specifications is the Carmel motherboard, which has the following expansion slots:

  • A PCI Express x 16
  • Three PCI Express x 1 connectors
  • A PCI Express Mini Card x 1

  As there is no version indicated for your PCI Express x 16 it slot means that it is version 1.

  Now, your previous graphics card was a PCI Express 2.1 x 16, which means that it was version 2 and compatible with your PCI Express x 16 slot on your motherboard. However, the new card is PCI Express 3.0 and will not work in your motherboard due to a compatibility break. While the technology is supposed to be compatible there are many cases where it is not, and I'm afraid that you meet one of these cases.

• Strange behaviour of PIX - cannot access all protocols from high to low security

  I have a 515 with four active interfaces (material of three and a VIRTUAL local area network). I have a DMZ interface with security level equal to 6. Inside network (Security 100) I can only access hosts on the DMZ using the HTTP protocol. Ping and telnet do not work while they do not work when I am connected directly to the network DMZ. The DMZ network is flat and all the guests have the PIX as their DGW. Here is a copy of the current configuration. Am I missing something? This shouldn't be so hard!

  Any suggestions? Short of completely reinstall the elements (which I don't know even if I do, since I've only got an activation code when I bought it.)

  Yes, you can reinstall the PES, but that shouldn't be necessary. Activation related material is so it is not serious, and uninstaller gives you the ability to disable during the uninstallation. Try to remove the mediadatabase once again, and this time also delete thumbsDatabase.db3, which is in the hard drive > library > Application Support > Adobe > Photoshop Elements > 10.0.
