active desktop recovery message appears everytime I turn on my computer, how do I get rid of it

I didn't add something back to one of my sites or web pages, my computer was left on and I guess that came into fashion "sleep" and was extinguished without being loged out.

I suggest you restore the system to an earlier date before the problem.

If this does not work a good cold start (make a start > Shutdown > Shutdown and wait that it to completely disable and then give 15-20 seconds and power back on) after correcting your office to be where you need it. If it does not work. I suggest to remove all the websites your ad, restart the computer, add them all back.

  • Qtcore4.dll missing - reinstall message appears every time I start my computer, how do I reinstall?

What do I have to pay and install another program to reinstall? How to know it is legitimate and doesn't contain viruses?

    Hi SueBlack,

    1. did you last changes made on your computer before the show?

    2. how many time you receive this error message?

3 do you have Electronic Arts Download Manager (EADM) installed on your computer?

Qtcore4.dll could be part of EADM (Electronic Arts Download Manager) and should be in c:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EADM directory (for 32-bit systems).

I suggest you to perform the following troubleshooting methods:

    Method: 1

Configure the computer to start in minimum mode to determine which application is causing the problem.

To set up your computer in a clean boot, follow the steps from the following link:

Note: After checking in the clean boot, follow step: 7 article to reset your computer to normal startup.

    Method: 2

Also, I would say download you Microsoft Safety scanner and scan you computer for viruses.

You can download Microsoft Safety scanner from the following link.

  • Whenever I open Firefox, I get an aggravating "Apollo Browser sync" message that wants access to my Google account - how can I get rid of this message?

This has happened for the past 2 days. I don't remember downloading this application. He said that I had given him permission to access my phone and iPad, which I removed. But even if I refused it permission, I get the message the first thing after the opening of Firefox. I'm tempted to stop using Firefox as my default since this does not happen in another browser.

    Disable this extension in Firefox.

When I create a new canvas, a border appears around it automatically. It's a white border lined with curved edges which is under the background of my new file/document psd layer - it is not editable. I think I might change it in the drop-down "Show" menu, but I was not able to fix it. I've been messing around with the size of the canvas earlier, but I didn't know that I had done something I don't usually do. It is not hinder my work... it just bothers me so much!

  • Active Desktop Recovery appears all night - does not disappear.

Sometimes my computer switches to Active Desktop recovery, usually at night.  It asks if I want to stop the execution of scripts, but no matter if I answer 'Yes' or 'No' - nothing happens.  Sometimes I can fix by changing my desktop picture or screensaver, or by running the Search & Destroy from Spybot or Ad-Aware, but a few days later, it happens again!  I use Windows XP Home Edition 2002 with SP2 on a PC clone computer.  I don't have XP discs.

    Todd.E.Pullen,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.  I suggest also run you antivirus software.  The two you mention are especially designed for malware.  If you do not have an antivirus program, then you can download a free here: http://www.microsoft.com/Security_essentials/

I would also make sure that your computer is current with updates.  Run the Windows update tool.

After doing these items, post back with results. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

  • Background is now white screen "Active Desktop Recovery"

original title: white screen "Active Desktop Recovery".

My screen went WHITE with big letters proclaiming "Active desktop recovery."      All my icons are still there and work very well.   But when I try to click on restore Active Desktop button, nothing happens and there is a white screen with all the instructions, etc.  I tried everything, including the 'Display' Panel and tried setting to the top of my new wallpaper, but no luck.  I restarted the system several times, and when it loads the white screen is still there.   Note: When I go to view, context parameters are NOT operational.  The cursor won't move.   It will allow me to set the color, but nothing makes a change.     Everything works fine, but I can't seem to get rid of white screen and the words "ACTIVE DESKTOP RECOVERY more phrases sub on how to cure it... have nothing to this problem."   Thank you, BobnKathyS.   For the purpose of the email, I prefer to use the following: * e-mail address is removed from the privacy *.

-right click on the desktop > properties.

    -Select the Desktop tab

    -Customize Desktop button

    -Select the Web tab

-Remove all the other current office links except for the "My homepage" link, so all the other links are listed (checkbox, then the button Delete)

    This step is the clincher:

-Turn it off "my checkbox on the current home page.

    -Click on apply

    -Click OK

    Office should return to normal.
